I am so glad that I stumbled onto this website. I have been feeling bad for over 1 1/2 years with unexplainable symptoms all of which started around the time that I was put on Lisinopril/HCTZ 10/12.5 to help control my HBP. I started out with flu like symptoms, that progressed to terrible headaches onto chest pain that sent me to the ER. I thought I was having a heart attack. I've been to see every kind of Doctor you can name: neurologist (headaches) allergist, cardiologist (heart doctor), hematologist (bloodwork), rheumatologist (to rule out Lupus) all of which can't seem to find anything wrong with me. I mean nothing. I specifically asked my doctor some time ago if my symptoms could be could be related to the new BP meds and he told me "NO". After reading these testimonials, DON'T THINK HE'S RIGHT. I'M GETTING' A NEW PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN!!!!!

Hello, I have been taking Crestor over a year it is causing so many problems now! I have clots of blood passing & terrible burning when urinating. I went for pap smear, pelvic examine this week told everything is good. Heart doctor took blood test said great keep doing what you are doing. I read on line that Crestor should be taken off the market. Also causing tearing and damaging the lining of the bladder which doesn't show with urine test, or my blood test.
Crestor causes eye damage, twitching, depression and a list as long as my leg and I have very long legs!!!! BEWARE of CRESTOR!!!
I am seeing my heart doctor this coming week and trying to get away from it.
I want Centrum Cario vitamin supplement!!

my husband had never been one to go to G.P.s or have reason to take prescription medication( not even an aspirin ) . Finally had a medical test- Cholesterol was high- was not given a chance to change his eating habits- and was placed on LIPITOR ( this was 18 months ago ) and since- everything has gone downhill from there. He has suffered nausea, blacked out, had headaches/tingling sensation, chest pains, aching/fatigue to legs/feet and arms. - shoulder pain- has problems getting up from bed or from sitting position- has generally lost power in his arms and legs. His doctor was advised over the past several months of his pains- but had no idea what caused them and changed the script to Crestor. ( still a Statin drug ). Have ( on good avice from chemist assistant ) now got him on daily dose of Q10- and he ( 2 weeks ago ) decided to stop taking the Lipitor or any other cholesterol lowering statin drug- of his own choosing. He has had several visits to podiatrist to help alleviate the pain to his feet - which are sore and swollen. His liver levels were also high at on stage. All this has happened to him sine he started the Lipitor statin. Prior to this- He has never had previous medical conditions or medication. Seems to point the finger at one reason- LIPITOR !!!!!- THEY CANT BLAME IT ON ANYTHING ELSE. Just want him to get back some energy. He is 56. One more story to add to the thousands of complaints, Why isn't anyone in the medical field / lawyers commenced a full investigation to all these complaints? thousands of people cant be wrong. Bring on Erin B.

Hi ladies... I'm not surprised that you folks comprise most of the posting population considering the fact that this drug is prescribed to you. Well I'm quite interested in this drug and I do prescribe it to my patients however I am surprised at the magnitude of side effects listed here. I am based here in south-east Asia and I do prescribe Yasmin to my patients and I rarely here of these side effects. Perhaps this can be contributed to the fact that it (Yasmin) is available here under a different brand name however consists of the same chemical position. I am interested in the ones available in the U.S. Does anyone know how I may go about purchasing them. You can contact me personally on ****** thank you.

Hello to all. I am so glad I am not crazy. I found this site 1 day before my appointment to have the Mirena removed. I am so glad I did. I will give you a little history of myself. I'm 29 years old with 3 children. In July 2006, I had my 3rd child, and 4 days later I went into cardiac arrest. They diagnosed me with Postpartum Cardiomyopathy. While I was in the hospital they told me I could never become pregnant again. It would be too risky, cause the next time I could die. I was in a coma for 5 days, so waking up to that was hard to take. Before I left the hospital, they begged me to have a tubal. I told them no. When I went to see my doctor 5 weeks later, she wanted to put me on the Mirena, but she had to get my heart doctor's approval. He said according to what I have, I could even go on oral contraceptives and he wouldn't be concerned. But I read the literature on the Mirena and I decided that this was the best thing for me. The doctor inserted it in November 2006. It was very uncomfortable when she put it in. Then the side effects started, but until almost a year later, I didn't realize it was from the Mirena, since I was on heart medication too. The heart doctor took me off my heart meds in June 2007. Then that was when I realized that the symptoms was coming from the Mirena. I had absolutely no sexual desire. I felt horrible, but I couldn't help it. I told my husband of 10 years and he kept telling me to go get it removed. My back and neck hurt all the time. I had gained 16 pounds and felt bloated all the time since I have been on it. I thought that I was doing something way off, now I know that it was the Mirena. I had no energy at all. I felt like I could stay in the bed all the time and then when I would go to bed I couldn't sleep or if I did I kept waking up. I have been stressed and depressed. Then my throat hurt all the time. Also I have heartburn all the time. I have never had heartburn, except when I was pregnant. Then I bled 3 weeks out of 4 every month. So I have to wear a pantyliner all the time. So having to do that has caused yeast infections all the time (which I have never had before). I have never had that in my entire life. I have always been regular and normal. I have had abdominal pains, joint pains. I couldn't stand it anymore. I went to the doctor yesterday for my appointment to have it removed that I made 3 months ago. She said that she could give me this and that for some of symptoms, but I told her I just wanted it out. So thank goodness it's out and hopefully I will be able to see some improvements in my body. Already I have no bloating. I was able to get a pair of pants on today that was too tight last week. How amazing was that. I really wish I had googled this over a year ago or I would have never had it put in.
Thanks to all the ladies that I have listed their symptoms, to prove to me and others that we are not crazy.

I took Levaquin as a treatment for pneumonia. After 3 days on the drug, all my joints were stiff and I had difficulty breathing. I called my doctor and I was told to continue the medicine. After a week, the reaction continued to get worse, I could hardly move, my breathing got worse and I had to be put on oxygen. My hands were like clubs and I couldn't open anything. I sat in a chair all day. It took me a half hour to get out of the chair to go to the bathroom. My hands were so swollen that I could not flush the toilet with my hands. I had to use my elbow to flush it. I saw doctors thinking I had rheumatoid arthritis. I saw pulmonary specialist and my lung capacity was at 48%. They sent me for many blood tests, cat scans, and I even had an MRI to try to find the cause. Finally, my heart doctor found out that some people were having adverse reactions to Levaquin. She found out that it caused severe anemia, breathing problems, and joint pain. She dosed me iron and within a week I was finally beginning to see the swelling in my hands start to decrease. I was out of work for 3 months.

I have been off Zocor now for almost 6 weeks. I am not sure if my symptoms are from Zocor but they have been slowly, very slowly getting better. I have had numbness in both my legs, groin area and feet. Now there is this crackling feeling in both my feet and the numbness has changed to a feeling that my muscles are tightly flexed all the time. Has anyone else had these effects? I am trying to see if it is the Zocor or may be some other problem I may have.

was put on toprol 25mgs. one year ago by my heart doctor, for tachycardia which only happened after stress. soon thereafter i developed a numbness in the toes of both feet. i saw my my intrenist who didnt know what it was from. i left the country and was livinf abroad until aug 07. while ther the paresthesia of my toes got worse and started traveling up my foot and half of my calf. saw my internist and was advised to see a neurolgist. he put me thru a series of blood test and an emg. all came up negative. went back to the internist and asked her to review my records from sept 2006. first thing she noticed was that i had been started on toprol. she told me one of the side effects is paresthesia of the feet and or hands, and advised me to cut the dose in half for a few weeks and then in half again in a effort to wean me off of it. its been only 3 days since i began to cut down and already the numbness is starting to decrease. has any one else experienced this? does it go entirely away? please write. hopefull

In June, 2007 I was given a sample of ADVAIR by my primary physician for treatment of acute bronchitis. After 6 days of taking 250/50, I suffered hoarseness, voice changing up/down due to mucus in the throat, pain in chest, severe anxiety attacks, bloating in both legs of up to 7 lbs. of fluid per leg, blurred vision, sleep apnea, tiredness, etc. After being off ADVAIR for 6 weeks and after umpteen tests by both my primary physician and my heart doctor, symptons lessened a little. In the meantime, for the months of July and August, I was tested by both doctors, had to have blood drawn with each change in medication, countless doctor office visits, countless lab work done, etc. This ordeal has been extremely time-consuming and very espensive.

Dated September 13, 2007.

I have been taking Lotrel 5/20 for only a week and have had terrible insomnia. But, even worse, is the ringing in my ears - actually more like crickets. The first time it happened, I thought my refrigerator was breaking down and kept checking it until I realized it was my ears!

After by-pass heart surgery in 2002, my cardilogist put me on 40mg of zocor.
I was in good health with no physical limitations. I had no heart damage. The restriction of heart arteries were found due to my stress test that was performed each year as a part of my annual Physical. After surgery I was on zocor for three years, during that time I experienced a little tiredness, little weakness, a little muscle aches. some tingling in my right arm and shoulder. I went to my heart doctor Jan. 2006 and he changed me to vytorin (10mg zetia and 40mg zocor). about 6 months all of the about symptoms got worse.
By Jan. 2007, my muscles became so stiff, I could not walk, had balance problems, severe muscle aches and cramps, numbness and tingling in both arms and hands, also stifness and pain in my hands, stiffness and pain in both feet, stifness and pain in my back and weird nerve sensations over my entire body. During Jan. and Feb 2007, I was seen by my family doctor, a neurologist, and a muscle doctor. Thanks to the internet, I found info on zocor and zetia, which is the drug vytorin. Warnings described the same symptoms I am experiencing. I stopped vytorin, I am not taking any statins drugs now. My doctor order a blood test to check for muscle damage, It indicated severe damage, a Creatine level of 770. This level should not be over 200. After being off the drugs for 30 days the creatine level dropped to 645. My condition has improved by 25%. I am walking a little better, but I still having muscle problems, there is improvement. I think there will be a very long recovery. There seems to be some evidence that these Statins affect people of age much more than the young. I am 70 years old. PLEASE PEOPLE, IF YOU ARE TAKING STATINS DRUGS, STOPPED NOW! SLOVE YOUR CHOLESTROL PROBLEMS BY OTHER MEANS. Since I stopped my cholestrol has gone from 157 to 280, but I am not going back taking these drugs. I am trying the natural way now. I have read post after post on many web-sites of people with the same symptoms that were using these drugs. The drug companies and the FDA are responsible for the the degradation of people's health taking these statin drugs.

On the same evening after receiving the knealog injection, I became extremely flushed, hot, red faced and my blood pressure went up even though I've been on blood pressure medicine for a year now. I have a burning sensation in my upper chest. I am getting ready to call my heart doctor. I had the shot 6 days ago and still have all the same symptoms. I've been taking my blood pressure 2 or 3 times a day and it has only gone below 140/70 once in the 6 days. I am really getting concerned. Has anyone else had these symptoms????

Great reduction in cholesterol levels! But suddenly I felt absolutely without any energy to perform daily tasks, and, simultaneously both knees were swelling and it was difficult walking. I immediately stopped taking Zocor and went to my heart doctor. He agreed that I had done the right thing. I had also been taking Vioxx for lower back pain for a while. Don't know if there was any interaction.
My heart doctor sent me to a rhumatologist. He said there were no real problems with the knees except some expected osteoarthiritis, indicating a slightly greater wear in the cartledge on the inside of the knee joint versus the outside. He took some fluid from one knee and only recommend I get some physical therapy. I waited about four months before following up on the therapy. The physical therapist told me immediately that my problem was only mechanics...the way I walk and that if I would practice walking properly then I would be OK. I suspect there is some truth to this but the real cause of altered walking in my opinion was the pain from taking Zocor.
Please let me know if you have found solutions to this. I am 58 and otherwise quite healthy.
