I posted my experiences on June 5, 2009. I thought I would do an update. Yes, I am overjoyed that I had Mirena removed. It took 3-6 months for the side effects from the drug to disappear after removal. In the first 1-3 months following removal I haven't experienced another rash, itchy skin, hair loss, anxiety, heart flutter, bloating, cramping, breast tenderness,or eye twitch. It took about 3-6 months for the mild to cystic acne and low back pain to finally vanish. I still have problems with tendinitis in my wrist. The depression and feeling of laziness is also a side effect of the medication that can disappear if the device is removed. I paid for all the expenses out out pocket with no insurance, but I'm glad I didn't wait to have the Mirena removed because of the expense.

I had Mirena inserted 3 weeks ago. Since then, I have a strange fluttering in the center of my chest and mild pain when I breathe. I also feel nervous at times when I'm resting. I am considering getting Mirena removed.

well i've been reading all the replies on FemconFE and to be honest i have a lot of these symptoms that i have never experienced before. well it started a weeks ago that i started noticing bad symptoms. i've been on femcon for a month and a week and i have mood swings, insomnia, hot flashes, dizziness, nausea, severe stomach pain, and worst of all...heart flutters. when i was born i was diagnosed with a heart murmur...well at 8 years old it was lessened to a heart flutter. i haven't had problems with my heart since i was 16. no even the birth of my daughter affected me. but since being on this i can't even drive, clean my house, let alone take care of my 14 weeks old daughter. i'm calling the doctor in a few hours when they open and hopefully he'll take me off of this

I needed Metoprolol Tartrate for a very high heart rate for graves desease, I was in the 115's+ lowered too 8o beats per min. Which is great!
BUT, having some horrid side effects.
BAD night chills, intolerance to cold. Shake for 3+ hours then sweat. Feels like I was hit by a train after then I get very nauseasous and light headed
Sleep is bad, toss and turn all night and have a greater fear of the dark
ALSO, my bones hurt all the time!! Never did before, had tests done nothing there.
This is the only drug I could find that didn't make my heart flutter and feel all funky. Its a great drug for just that. All the side effects suck..bad

Wow. I'm glad i found this site. Last night i had a sudden brain wave that my complete lack of interest in sex might just be down to the pill, and it looks like i might just be right. I used to be quite highly sexed when i first met my boyfriend, but 3 years later and i finally have no libido whatsoever, i really dont see the point anymore. This is sad for both me remembering who i used to be and my relationship, especially as i only moved in 3 months ago!
Next week i'm having surgery to see if i have endometriosis as the (minimal amount of) sex i am having is quite painful (sometimes like a stabbing pain, sometimes like a real bad ache), although it seems this could be a side effect too? I wouldn't be suprised if the doctors come back stumped as to what the problem is, but either way i think i need to give Yasmin up. In fact i'm not keen on putting any more chemicals in my body any more, but now what do i do about birth control!?
I dont know about the other side effects - i certainly am tired a lot, dont sleep very well, have the odd heart 'flutter', and now you come to mention it my legs do ache sometimes....but i think i'm lucky to have got away without depression or raging tempers (which is actually why i was put on yasmin in the first place).
Fingers crossed i may have just discovered after the last 2 1/2 years what the problem is, thanks to you guys!

As a nurse I was sure that this was the best medication for my upper resp. infection. I thought I was having anxiety attacks and was constantly checking my irregular pulse. I read the side effects and then these postings and have stopped after the first 3 doses. At least I'm not crazy and not having a heart attack. Although I can still feel my heart flutter in my chest. No more of this medication for me.

I'm 40, been on 10 mg Lisinopril per day for about 7 years.
Thought I was just aging early, until I read these posts.
Will discuss with doc in January when I go.
My blood pressure is under control--feel better in that regard, and I've never had the cough. But I am much slower than I used to be, I have joint pain, stuffy sinuses, tight chest, bouts of difficult breathing (I run 3 miles every other day to combat this), no energy-really have to push myself, difficulty concentrating, memory lapse, anxiety, withdrawing, heart flutter. Been concerned. I wonder what life would be like without this--I've just been trying to accept things the way they are, but maybe I could find an alternate drug-at least for a while to see if symptoms clear. I've been taking it so long, maybe I have forgotten how I should feel. I'm checking on this--thanks, everyone, very much!
