Hi ... as with another person I took one dose and had various side effects. First only 12 hours after I took the first dose, I began to get a rash on my entire shin, it was more like welts, huge and they itched so much. I called my doctor and they advised me to stop taking it and begin on benadryl right away. It helped with the itching, but the welts began to move all over my body. They would disappear after about an hour or so,and reappear in another location. I am still itchy on my scalp, after about 8 weeks. I had the rash for about one month! I also had tingling in my hands, back pain, headache, abdominal pain 3 hours after I took the pill that was very painful along with heart palpitations! I am not a complainer. But this pill ...only after one dose, has left me wondering about what else could be wrong that I am unaware of. Any advise regarding this drug or any legal action is greatly appreciated. Please email ****** Thank you for your time! This drug should be pulled from the market! I have never had a reaction to anything in my life.

Hi. I was just told I had low Vitamin D. I have been doing some research on what might cause this and what issues low Vitamin D could cause. I am finding that all acid inhibitors can cause this condition. Many of the side effect all of you have listed along with many others have been reported with use of these type drugs. Some research also shows that softing of the bones or brittle bones can be a side effect after long term use. This is where the Vitamin D comes in. The acid inhibitors keep your stomach from breaking down Vit. D which is distributed in your body as a hormone. Vit. D or lack there of can cause so many deceases that are life threating that it is unreal. I am not an expert by no means, but now when I go back to my doctor for the follow up for the low Vit. D I fill much more informed by doing my homework. I have took Nexium for about 3 years and then Aciphex for about 3 years; so a total of 6 years on the acid inhibitors. During this time I have been diagnosed with clinical depression, degenerative bone decease, and now Low Vit. D. I have had the dry mouth, cold feet, leg cramps, unexplained abdominal pain, cannot control my hunger, anxiety, lumps in my throat, skin rash that comes and goes and is untreatable, heart palpitations, trouble sleeping, pain in my kidneys.....OH how I could go on. In the official PDF file on the side effects of Aciphex there are no studies past one year to substantiate any claims of long term side effects. I have heard in the past 18 months little stories on the TV news about how Nexium can cause bone fractures but it is not played up very big. I have gone to the doctor more then the average person and I have felt as if I am a HUGE hypocondriac. Yesterday was the first time I have been able to breath and I actual stated to my husband that I feel as if suddenly the hypocondriac weight I have been bearing has somewhat been lifted off my shoulders.

PLEASE if you have took any of these types medications and you have these symptoms insist that you have your Vitamin D levels check before it is too late. Continue to persue this avenue even if your doctor is reluctant. AND write the FDA about your experiences. STAND UP FOR YOUR HEALTH!

UPDATE!!
I was lucky enough to have found this site on October 10th. I am glad to say that I have been off of Lisinopril for 2 weeks now and I feel great!!
I just went to the doctor and TOLD him I was not taking this med and he suprisingly said OK.
I went back to a generic derivative of Tarka I was on before. The Lisinopril cost $4 and the Tarka costs $30 but that is no price to pay for my sanity!!
I now have no more side effects. My BP is lower now than I can ever remember and my head is out of the clouds and back at home where it belongs. I have no more heart palputations, asleep hands, dry cough, racing and pounding heart or vivid dreams.
Dont be afraid people to go and get off of this terrible for some drug.
Also I have been taking 2 tbls of pure unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. I am not sure if it is helping but it does seem to give me a lot of energy. Reasearch it. I hope and pray for all the folks posting on this site that your recovery can be as dramatic as mine.
Good luck to all!!!!!!!!

Only now after the break up of my marriage and the begining of a new relationship,do i realise that something was just not right, when my new man was saying exactly the same things as my ex...terriable mood swings, constant angry feelings, scarring acne , constant tiredness and general body aches and pains, sore breasts, a slow but steady weight gain of nearly 4 stones inspite weight watchers etc and depression. Was on seroxat for a time until i saw a programme that highlighted side effects of that and so have lived with depression for years. A visit to ER with heart palputations which i thought was a heart attack. Panix attacks....I dont know why i suddenly thought that the mirena might have something to do with all this, thought i was going crazy , especially after my husband left me ...i had it removed last week and already feel better. Lost 4Lb in 5 days. Today i feel a little tired but still pleased its out. There is too much thats happened to me in the last 5 years for this to be a coincidence. My gp had no hesitation on removing it ....its too early to tell what will happen, but already i feel more peaceful...

My then 8 yr old daughter was prescribed ADVAIR when her doc diagnosed her with mild asthma. 2 puffs twice a day.She had developed a wheeze during a 5 day rainy spell in our area. I notice the change in her early on. A gifted student, she began to display symptoms of ADHD. Lack of concentration, unable to focus. She became emotional frequently. Gained wieght in a short period of time. Nosebleeds, some so severe she choked on the clots. My daughter chronicled her levels daily, gradually losing lung capacity..she began at 300 on her flow meter and within 6-8wks she was below 200. She began to complain of leg aches, loss breath during ordinary gym activiites, climbing stairs, walking at the mall.

I began to search online for forums such as this. I found that ADVAIR was intially to be used in chronic asthma..not like my daughter's mild case. Also, that ADVAIR was known to increase asthma symptoms in some cases,so severely that it was actually almost pulled of the shelves but "saved" when the FDA , instead, allowed for a black box to be printed on the label, stating a warning.
I also read that ADVAIR should not be prescribed to children under 12.

Many advair users made claims of exact symptoms my daughter was experiencing. Many said that when they went to their doctors with these claims, they were "blown off" or told " you can't prove it". Why would so many doctors take this stance?
After 80 pages of comments from users who were athletes, vegetarians, parents, nurses, etc stating their negative effects and prolonged symptoms even after getting off ADVAIR, I called my mother.

My mother is 63 and a more severe asthmatic. She had in the last 12 months been to the ER, 5 times. No oxygen, unable to breath, heart palputations, symptoms of heart attack, chronic bronchitis...twice having to stay for 2-3 days. When I told her I was going to wean my daughter off ADVAIR (NEVER QUIT ADVAIR COLD TURKEY. WEAN IT OFF) She told me that she had been on ADVAIR, for the past 16 months....

It has now been almost 2 yrs since my daughter and mother have been off ADVAIR. My daughter regained her lung capacity and actually improved it within 4 weeks of getting off. It took her about a year to lose the wt.Her concentration/focus returned to normal in about 6 months, but I had to meet with teachers to help her adjust. No wheezing, no joint pain, no severe nosebleeds. My daughter has only used her emergency inhaler 2 times last year, once during a field day in high humidity heat and once during flu season.
My mother has not been to the hospital since getting off ADVAIR. She did notify her doc about getting herself off and he just looked at her with eyebrows raised and said "what have you been reading?"...He did put her on SINGULAR bec she has to be on medication....I do not know of any side effects she has form that.

In my research, I did come across a few ADVAIR users who truly benefited from it. Also some who preferred the pros to the cons they experienced so they were content. I say, if you are lucky enough to have ADVAIR do what it's supposed to , good for you. BUT, if you are seeing an increase in severity of your symptoms please notify your doc, or get a new doctor if they won't listen. Asthma deaths related to ADVAIR have ocurred. The term "RARE" occurence of increase severity of symptoms or death is a misnomer. There are too many users citing this. Please be careful. Listen to your body and GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

I was prescribed Levaquin for a sinus infection. Started taking the 500 mg. tablet on Thursday. Within 24 hours of the first dose, my sinus symptoms started feeling better, but I had wild dreams along with difficulty in sleeping, accompanied by bouts of sweating, then chilling. Friday nt. the diaharrea started and continued every 30 min. This was accompanied by severe abdominal pain and weakness. I have stopped taking this drug, only took 3 pills, but the diaharrea continues. Has anyone else had this awful side effect, and if so....how long did it last after discontinuing the medication. I, like many others have posted, will NEVER take this medication again, nor will I let it be prescribed to any family member!

Just an update since stopping Yasmin June, 2005 after being on it for 1 1/2 years.

I am doing so much better BUT it took at least 6 months before I felt the chemicals were finally out of my body! I had withdrawel symptoms of anxiety, self doubt and a feeling of doom & gloom. I also was getting a period every 14 days! I had been taking various birth control pills for 25 years without ever stopping, just switching as I got older. (I am 47)

I can honestly say that THIS Pill is THE WORST as far as side effects. My side effects were:

muscle aches at night in the knees
night sweats
dizziness/balance issues
depression
anxiety
skin itching
heart palputations/heart racing
Hair falling out

I can HONESTLY tell you that the side effects WILL go away BUT IT TAKES TIME. PLEASE give yourself time for your body to get back into balance.

The up side:
1. no longer have dizziness issues
2. no longer have heart racing or skipping beats
3. skin is nice and clear again BUT it looked like HELL when I was going through the withdrawel
4. sleeping better
5. not as depressed or anxious (I am a little naturally)
6. Nice and thick, SHINEY hair!

The down side:
1. I have gained 25 pounds
2. I have daily problems with water retention in the ankles ( the Yasmin had a "water pill" effect)

All in all....PLEASE discontinue this pill if you even have ONE of the above side effects; insist that your GYN take you off Yasmin and find another Birth control pill.

I have been taking herbal supplements since going off of the Yasmin which I do believe have helped with the withdrawel process.

Ladies, you WILL get better and there is a happy and HEALTHY life once you go off of Yasmin and your body is rid of the evil toxins. I am proof!

May we Sisters support each other and be thankful for this website.

God Bless,

Joodles

About three weeks ago on stumble on to this side, looking for any side effects to lisinopril. for the last 7 months I have had stabbing muscle pains in my left foot. Joint pain started in my toes on both feet and as of June tennis elbow in my left elbow with no explanation. When I found this web site 3 weeks ago there were several people who had the same side effects. I have since stopped taking the drug and my symptoms have cleared about 60%. I also was having heart palputations and my Dr. wanted to give me another drug for that. I said no way. This drug is dangerous I will never take it again. How long do these symptoms last?

I was going to list all the side effects I have had while taking Yasmin but it looks as though I have the same side effects as everyone else. I took Yasmin for one year and I regret it. During this time I had extreme anxiety (I even started fearing going into stores because I had "dizzy spells" from the anxiety), heart palputations, vision problems, headaches, and so on. I starting seeing counselors and doctors. They all thought I had an anxiety disorder. Thanks to this site, I stopped taking Yasmin about 3 weeks ago and I feel so much better. All the symptoms have not completly gone away but for the most part they have. Good luck to all of you and thanks for your postings!

About six months ago I was perscibed 80mg of Diovan for high blood presure. It did not bring my blood presure down, so the medication was increased to 160mg a day. Soon after I took the higher dose, I had heart palputations,a racing heart beat, severe headaches, ringing in my ears. And still, my blood presure was high. This medicine went in the trash. After two week of not taking Dovan, my ears are still ringing.

I have been taking Toprol for about a year for heart palputations. Over the last few months, I began to experience a tired feeling. In the last four months, it has gotten worse and now I can't do my husehold chores. I have a trembling feeling in my arms, legs, and upper body.
I also experenced muscle aches. That has ceased since I have been off the Lipitor. I have had numerous blood work done and all has come back in the normal range. I have seen a Neorologist and the tests he gave me were also normal. My guess is, it is both the Lipitor and Toprol causing my problem. I am 68 years of age, always been on the go and a fun loving person. I would like to be that person again.
