I started a new job in January as a nurse and started to experience what I thought were stress attacks. I always new I had a fast heart rate 124 beats per minute at times but just thought it was the way my body was. So for the last few months I have been angry, tired, had heart palpitations through out the day and just have been feeling miserable. I have been on Yasmin for 4 years. The other day at work I felt my heart pounding in my chest and checked my heart rate and it was 140 beats per minute, my blood pressure was up (I normally have low bp) and I felt dizzy. I went to my GP after work and he suggested seeing a heart specialist as I was in sinus tachycardia. I decided to do some research into whether Yasmin could cause these symptoms as I felt there must be a reason. I am so glad that I found this sight!
I am an emotional reck at the moment and am so tired!

Since my daughter second gardasil shot she has become tired all the time, she passed out on November 10 and was taken to the doctor. She orderd an EKG, chest xray and blood work. They called me that night and said she has an irregular slow heart beat ( which she has never had before). We went to a heart specialist the next day, he did an echo cardiogram and said things looked fine. If she passed out again, for me to call him and he sent us on our way. Tonight, while she was walking at work, it happend again. We went to E.R. and basically were told to follow up with her doctors on Monday. She is supposed to get the third shot in December, now i am afraid for her to get it. Im wondering if her suddenly getting the slow irregular heart beat, and passing out, irregular period, and headache is connected to the Gardasil. She is 17 and a senior in High School, she was planning on going to college, but now she is afraid to be alone, drive, or do anything that typical teenagers do.

My 17 year old had her second gardasil shot about two weeks ago. Since then she has been extremely tired and nauseated. Her period started three weeks early even though she is on Yaz to regulate her periods. She has missed so much of her senior year she is afraid she will have to repeat it.

On October 11, 2008 my 14 year old daughter began to complain of being dizzy, headache, faintness, nausea, vomiting and stated that her heart hurt each time she took a breath. This warranted her being admitted and transferred to a specialized children's hospital. They discovered an inexplicable enzyme (troponin) surrounding her heart muscle which only appears when someone is having a heart attack. All of her echo cardiograms were normal as well as her other blood levels. She was tested for all of the typical high school diseases as well as lupus, etc. She remained in the hospital until Thursday and is now exhibiting an irregular heartbeat pattern. After visiting with her pediatrician since her release, it is extremal possible that this is a side effect of the Gardisil shots that she had this past November - February.

three months after getting Mirena Iud I started getting heart palpitations, I had a ECG and a Holter Moniter, I mentioned it Mirena too my family doctorr and he said he thought about it as being the cause, then said no he didn't think so Instead he sent me too a Heart Specialist, only for them too tell me they didn't think I had a heart condition!!! Go on!!!! I told my family doctor and the Specialist that I had a Mirena IUD and did they think that it may be causing me too have these palpitations? Both said NO... I have suffered and had dizzy spells, symptoms of morning sickness, and haven't been able to feel rested since getting it... Today I made an appointment to get it removed. I like what is has done for me otherwise, but I don't feel like the palpations are a worthy side effect.

OMG. Started taking Avelox and a cough pill at the same time. Thought the shakes were from being tired from not sleeping since I've had a sinus infection and coughing all night. Wondered if it was just in my mind. Went to the doctor. Told me to stop taking the cough pill. Sent me to the hospital for EKG. Called back and wants me to go to a heart specialist a.s.a.p for changes noticed since last EKG. Scared me badly. I'm only 42. Looked this up on the internet. Told pharmacist about problems. He said he never had anyone have any of my symptoms. Said to stop taking Avelox and drink a lot of water to help flush it out. Won't get out of my body for over 24 hours. Don't think our emergency room would have any clue how to help me since it isn't an allergic reaction just a side effect. Evidently most people who had trouble with this horrible drug have survived to write about it which gives me hope that I will too.

I took Lamisil in 1999 with no problem, but then, about 6 years ago I was taking Lamisil again and had some heart issues. I was taking a multivitamin at the same time as I was taking the Lamisil. I started having severe PVC's after a few days and actually went to a heart specialist because I didn't know what was wrong. I quit taking the Lamisil immediately because I thought there may be a correlation. After about a week the PVC's stopped, but I never did start back on the Lamisil. It just so happened that a couple of months later I saw a news story that anti fungal medications can cause heart problems if taken in conjunction with vitamins. I am convinced there was a connection.

I am a 43 year-old female, and have been on Lipitor for quite sometime now, at least 6 years. My doctor told me to watch for muscle pain as a side effect. After being on it for a year with no muscle pain, I was told my chances of developing a side effect at that point was very slim. About 2 years ago I developed severe foot pain which was diagnosed as plantar fasciitis, I went through PT and was put in a brace. Eventually I stopped the PT, not that the pain was gone, but I didn't feel that it was doing any good. I have not been without pain for the past 2 years. Since I am 15 pounds over what "they" consider my ideal weight, the foot pain has been blamed on that. I now have pain in the sides of both my feet and in the past 2 month its progressed to the the inside of my foot just below my ankle. I get pains which I can only describe as what feels like nerves snapping when I'm standing or walking. It is so much worse when I rest for awhile and then stand up. I feel like my walking days are limited. In addition to the foot pain, about 7 months ago I developed pain in my left hip. The first time I noticed it I thought I had bruised it in some way, but that also has gotten progressively worse. And about a month ago I've developed pain in my left elbow. Libido? What Libido???? I never considered any of these symptoms to be related to Lipitor until my husband recently mentioned that one of his co-workers was taken off Lipitor by his doctor after being on it for years because of joint pain that he developed.
As luck would have it, I only have one pill left--my prescription needs to be refilled, but I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor instead. I hesitate doing so, for the same reason that I've haven't gone to the Doctor about any of it after having had gone through PT---I don't think I'm going to be told anything other than I should lose the extra 15 pounds I'm carrying. But after reading all these postings, I can't help but think my problems are very likely related to the 6 years or so that I have been on Lipitor and I don't want to be on it any longer.

I too was taking LIPITOR. After 3 months I became short of breath. At first I put it down to the weight that I had regained.I had lost 18kg.the year before. I had muscle pain, nausea, headaches. The Lipitor reduced the LDL alright, but the shortness of breath became worse and worse. If I was sitting on a chair and dropped a piece of paper on the floor I would be completely out of breath from bending over and picking it up! If I was walking for more than a few minutes I would be out of breath and had to stop. I quickly regained my breath; but the moment I started to walk again I would become breathless again!! My heart specialist decide to do an angiogram, that was o.k. He told me it was my weight that made me short of breath, I disagreed with him. My G.P. did not know what caused it either. I had had problems with Pravachol, severe muscles stiffness and pain. I could not straighten a bend leg or bend a straight leg.It was only after I studied the enclosed leaflet in the box of Lipitor that I noticed the RARE BUT SERIOUS SIDE EFFECT: Shortness of breath, if you suffer from this stop straight away and see your Dr. it said. It turned out that the ALVEOLI are affected. I had a lung function test done which showed my lung capacity was down by 20%.After cortisone treatment it has improved a bit but it is still 10% down and it effects me every day. I tire quickly and get out of breath walking uphill or against the wind.If there is a class action going let me know please! I am so fed up . I am only 63 but feel like an old woman.I will not take anymore cholesterol lowering medication; I rather live 5 years less, if that is the consequence.

After by-pass heart surgery in 2002, my cardilogist put me on 40mg of zocor.
I was in good health with no physical limitations. I had no heart damage. The restriction of heart arteries were found due to my stress test that was performed each year as a part of my annual Physical. After surgery I was on zocor for three years, during that time I experienced a little tiredness, little weakness, a little muscle aches. some tingling in my right arm and shoulder. I went to my heart doctor Jan. 2006 and he changed me to vytorin (10mg zetia and 40mg zocor). about 6 months all of the about symptoms got worse.
By Jan. 2007, my muscles became so stiff, I could not walk, had balance problems, severe muscle aches and cramps, numbness and tingling in both arms and hands, also stifness and pain in my hands, stiffness and pain in both feet, stifness and pain in my back and weird nerve sensations over my entire body. During Jan. and Feb 2007, I was seen by my family doctor, a neurologist, and a muscle doctor. Thanks to the internet, I found info on zocor and zetia, which is the drug vytorin. Warnings described the same symptoms I am experiencing. I stopped vytorin, I am not taking any statins drugs now. My doctor order a blood test to check for muscle damage, It indicated severe damage, a Creatine level of 770. This level should not be over 200. After being off the drugs for 30 days the creatine level dropped to 645. My condition has improved by 25%. I am walking a little better, but I still having muscle problems, there is improvement. I think there will be a very long recovery. There seems to be some evidence that these Statins affect people of age much more than the young. I am 70 years old. PLEASE PEOPLE, IF YOU ARE TAKING STATINS DRUGS, STOPPED NOW! SLOVE YOUR CHOLESTROL PROBLEMS BY OTHER MEANS. Since I stopped my cholestrol has gone from 157 to 280, but I am not going back taking these drugs. I am trying the natural way now. I have read post after post on many web-sites of people with the same symptoms that were using these drugs. The drug companies and the FDA are responsible for the the degradation of people's health taking these statin drugs.

Put on the generic drug Simvastatin same as Zocor along with taking Zeita. Had real flushed face and body and could not walk without stopping. I have the aches in my legs and feet also. Today in my jaw and in my left hip. The Doctors just will not listen to me. Both the MD and the Heart Specialist.

Is there an existing class action suit against any of the makers of lisinopril? If so, I would like to join. My daughter died suddenly 3 days after her dose of lisinopril was raised from 10 mg to 20 mg. Hers also had HCTZ 12.5 mg. She was also on atenolol 50 mg twice daily. She had been having the productive cough so many others have mentioned.
Is there anyone else out there who knows someone who died while taking lisinopril? B.

I have always been told by doctors that I had a perfect heart, and should live to 100! In midJanuary 2005, I experienced all the symptoms of a heart attack, like the mother of Guest #3586, above--namely, shortness of breath, gasping for breath, heart palpitations, etc. The ER doctor said all my heart signs were excellent, just stop taking the detrol. He has seen many others with symptoms like mine who were also taking detrol.
I immediately stopped and felt better for a while. By midMarch, feelings of constant fatigue, etc, etc, drove me to a doctor again, who informed me that I had a loud heart murmer, and needed to see a heart specialist at once. I did, and within a week I was undergoing open heart surgery to repair a badly damaged mitral valve.

My dr. started me on 5mg lisinopril in Sept 2003 for HB - being a diabetic (borderline, on a research program) the readings for HB is lower than someone not considered to be diabetic. Because it was only 5mg, it took several months for the symptoms to gradually show up and I did not attribute them to the med, and neither did the doc. My symptoms include:
eye hemorhage
acid reflux
constatnt dry, hacking cough to the point of throwing up
increased allergic sensitivities
increase in muscle cramps
intestinal pain and cramping
unexplained, sudden sore throat and fever that developes into chest congestion
low grade fever and sweating at night
tremendous decrease in stamina - tired all of the time
difficulty in breathing, especially during any physical exertion such as yard work
unable to sleep decently due to cough
chest pain and pressure
My doc ignored the symptoms until I reported the chest pain and pressure, then he referred me to a heart specialist -- who advised that I may be having reactions to Lisinopril, but still scheduled a stress test for me (all okay). I imediately checked out the side effects, and then told my doc that I would not be taking it anymore, that I would be willing to try something else -- for 1 month.
Since this has all taken place within the last couple of weeks, I am hoping it won;t be TOO long before I lose the cough and get my stamina back.

I am male, caucasian, sixty years old, average height, a little overweight.
I can't expressly pin my symptoms down to Lipitor, since, following 2 mild heart attacks, I am now on several drugs, namely aspirin, clopidogrel, lipitor, tildiem, cozaar and cardura.
However, the Lipitor was upped to 40mg daily after my second heart attack as routine dosage, and only since then have I noticed these symptoms - aches in wrists, knees and hips, apparent muscle weakness and tone, very dry and depleted skin in thickness and tone, dry and brittle hair, plus a tendency towards infections in nose, throat, eyes and ears and a very pronounced although erratic tinnitus. Before all this I would have called myself robust. Now I feel rather weak and sickly, although perhaps some of this can be attributed to my cardiovascular condition.
My history also includes Hogkins Disease, diagnosed 24 years ago and not recurring following treatment with radiotherapy and surgey alone.
Next week I am due to see my heart specialist and I will ask him how much of my symptoms could have been caused by Lipitor, and whether or not I can at least cut down the dose.

I have been on Diovan for 2 and 1/2 years. I have noticed SO MANY of the symptoms that everyone is describing!! There is one that nobody has mentioned and that is vaginal pain. I have been to gynecologists, urologists, general practitioners and a heart specialist for all of the symptoms. Nobody has been able to figure out the vaginal pain. I am 56 years old and know that atrophy vaginitis may have something to do with it, but why is it that when I don't take my diovan, I don't have the pain down there as much. It is the worst of all the symptoms, so in time, we will see if the others subside. Like some of you, it seemed like one day I got up and felt like I was 80 instead of 56! Why don't the doctors take a very good look at your meds when you are having problems that they cannot figure out!? It does take my blood pressure down but I am going to start taking garlic and fish oil to see if they will help.
