i have had mirena for about 8 months and im ready to get it out...its the worst thing ever! i am only 18 yrs old so i was kinda worried about getting it(but my doctor kept telling me its the most effective birth control out there) and not to mention it was about 4 months after i had my daughter and I talked to a nurse and she told me that it was probably put in to early..now i suffer with chest pains, depression, headaches, backaches, very bad mood swings, really horrible periods, weight gain, and the worst smell down there.I called the doctor that put mirena in for me and they told me i would have to pay almost $300 and that they most likely wont remove it.i don't know what else to do...besides deal with it.

I have been on Wellbutrin XL for 2 years with no ill side effects and it has worked well. 2 1/2 months ago my script changed to the 'generic' BudeprionXL. Since this change, I have been experiencing severe muscle and joint pain, my hands go numb, my skin crawls to the point that I have scratched myself to the point of bleeding. Sleeplessness has just recently started to occur and my teeth have also become very sensitive. General irritability has also set in. I have not yet started to get the headaches most get with the Budeprion and it a good thing as I'm already taking 1600 mg a day of Advil to try and arrest the muscle and joint pain. After reading these other ill effects of this drug I'm now very scared and will be calling my doctor to get her to represcribe Wellbutrin -only- 'no generic'. It is clear to me the FDA did not do the proper research or makes me think TEVA has a friend in the FDA's office.

I am 17 and living in Oklahoma. Before NuvaRing I had tried everything. The pill gave me blood clots, constant bleeding for 6 months straight (even after I was off of it) and I didn't have my period for 2 years after. The patch gave me severe back pains, made me irritable and I had huge weight gain. and I'm so trypanophobic that the first time they tried giving me it in the shot form I hyperventilated so bad that they refuse to give it to me now.

My boyfriend and I found out about the NuvaRing about 9 months ago, we researched it to the best of our abilities and read and reread the symptoms and problems everyone was having with it. We even confirmed this at our local health department. We'd tried everything else that I was afraid to even try the ring, but I've successfully been on it for 9 months now and it hasn't changed anything. I've had the typical weight gain, breast increase and even small dozes of depression here and there, not to mention that now I only have cramps the day before my period, which is amazing considering i had them up to 2 weeks in advance before the NuvaRing. we've stayed on top of all the symptoms and I get regular checkups every 2 months, on top of the checkup that the heath department gives me when i go to get my new supply, in order to make sure everything still fine. I'm not saying that everyone else's problems with the rings are just in their heads, I'm just saying that I've personally been so happy to find a birth control that finally worked for me, after my failures with the other kinds.

It just makes me want to cry reading all these posts. I to had side effects from this drug but not anything like alot of complaints on here. I only took it for 3 months and after investigating the side effects and the risks verses the benefits I refuse to take it. My Dr. says it it up to me. I went to the National Institute of Heath risk factor calculator and found that lowering my total cholesterol from 254 to 200 only reduces my risk factor 1% over the next ten years. Had I been told that before taking this drug I would never have gotten the perscription. I ask the Dr. why he even put me on it for a 1% risk reduction and he couldn't answer. All I can say is before you take any drug find out risk-verses benefits. If you believe a drug is causing you serious side effects tell your Doctor you want off of it.

Thank God for this forum. It's my second day taking this poison and I am feeling AWFUL ..insomnia, anxiety, flu like sympotoms and all this time I was thinking I was going crazy. I am just worried about what would happen if I stop taking it, but at this point I can't feel any worse. It is obvious to me now that we cannot put our heath on anybody's hands, except ourselves. I can't believe this things is still being prescribed after everything I've read about it.

I have been taking Wellbutrin SR, 150 mg., once a day for about 5 years now and I love it! I have always been very active my whole life until I had to deal with some very hard family problems. Well, I started getting to where I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning and to fix a meal was more than I could handle. I tried Prozac and just wanted to sleep, so my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin for me. I started feeling like my old self again. My doctor said depression medication should make you feel normal, not out of it or anything like that. Well, I feel normal. You have to listen to your body though. I had a hard time sleeping for the first couple of weeks but that went away. I also notice that if I am starting to feel overwhelmed, I just take an extra one. I'm supposed to take 2 a day, but I only take one in the morning. Every now and then I will take one at noon also. This helps if I'm feeling overwhelmed. You just have to pay attention to your body. If you get headaches, reduce your dose or only take it every other day. I tried the XL and didn't like it. I felt more tired. I really like the SR. It seems just right for me.

I went to a neuro specialist for migraines today and within two minutes he was handing me a sample of Topamx -- without taking any history or listening to what I was saying. And he is a prominent "leader" in his field in Newport Beach, California. I can't believe it. He wanted to hospitalize me for three days and start me on Topamax tonight. I asked him the side effects and he told me only weight loss (I'm 5'6, 115 pounds!), fatigue (I have a weakened immune system already) and kidney stones (I'm a Libra -- and while that sounds funny, that sign rules the kidneys!). He also said I might search for words and chose the wrong ones. Well, I'm a published journalist. Great! What an Idiot. I asked him how long I would have to take it and he said about two years! My husband threw out the pills when I came home and told him the story... and now reading your postings I want to warn those of you our there to be sure that you really need this medication if you are taking it for only for migraines. I'd rather spend a day sick in bed a few days a week that have all of these horrific symptoms appear. Thanks for letting me share and good heath wishes to all of us.

I have been on Zocor about 3 months and have severe back pain, leg cramps, and now my knees are so sore that I can hardly walk very far. I also have the tremors in my index fingers and sinus pain and headaches. I also have blurry eyes sometimes and often it feels like a haze covers them. I have been wondering why I have felt so "lazy" and stiff and sore for the last little while. I was on an anti depressant and even with that, I have felt more emotional lately. Also sex drive has decreased noticably for me. I am (or was) a healthy 53 year old female who has always enjoyed good heath until the doc noticed my cholestrol levels were up and prescribed statin drugs to lower it. This morning I woke up with the distinct impression that it is the zorcor and that is when I started researching on the internet and found this site. It is interesting to me that all the symptoms I have been having are described by others taking this same medication. I will not take it again.

I took Levaquin for UTI after the first 7 days my body was very sore, I thought is was from the UTI. The UTI went away but came back 4 days later. Again I took the Levaquin 2 days in my body hurt really bad but I kept taking the Leviquin by the end of 7 days of a 30 day supply I could hardly walk. I could not get up or down stairs without help, I had numb arms, I could not even open a bottle of water. There was to many other things wrong with my body to name. My doctor said chances are it was not the Laviquin. To any one who will listen to me STOP taking this medicine NOW!!!! I felt like I was dying. My life and enegy was literaly being sucked out of me. I took about 2 weeks for me to walk good enough to go to work and it is now about 6 months and I am still tired and and weak sometimes. I was 41 and a very strong and heathly man. I am not alergic to anything. This is not an alergic reaction this was leagally being poisoned by the drug company who makes this stuff.
Again I say STOP TAKING THIS DRUG !!!
YOUR LIFE AND HEATH DEPEND ON IT.
If we don't warn people who will?
There are other durgs we can take.
