UPDATE: It has been 1 year ago that I stopped taking the poison referred to as Lipitor! The good news is I am feeling better. I have lost 25 lbs in the past year by following a low carb - high protein diet. I am practicing some yoga and trying to walk as much as possible. I have more good days than bad but the bad can still be debilitating. My neck pain is managed by a once a month visit to the Chiropractor who uses the pro-adjuster for treatment. Also I have upper body massage 1-2 per month. I simply refuse to let this get me down! Attitude is helpful! When I am having a bad day, the leg tremors return. I must say in the past 6 months, I have only had this happen 3 times. And for that I am grateful. I am trying to analyze the triggers for the leg tremors. So far I believe they are related to stress and exhaustion. When I push myself and do too much. Still not taking any drugs and my cholesterol is 220. I have accepted this and will live a quality life for as long as God allows! For everyone who is having lingering side effects from this horrible drug, hang in there! I have seen improvement but I don't think my muscle structure will ever be as it was so I am trying to accept the bad days and move ahead and really enjoy the good days!!!! God bless you all! Kookoo

After suffering from severe cramps and heavy bleeding for several years I decided to go to the doctor to see if I might possibly have endometriosis. He put me on Femcon in hopes of getting the pain and bleeding under control. I immediately noticed side effects from this medication. Much of what many of you are posting. I had constant tenderness and discomfort in my breasts, vivid/realistic nightmares, weight gain and most of all severe moodiness and irritability. I felt angry and hostile three weeks out of every month. Not a pleasant situation for me or the people around me. After two months of this, I called my doctor to possibly switch to something else. His response: exercise, high protein diet and Prozac as needed. I have been on a high protein diet for the better part of 20 years and have been exercising regularly all my life. As I am already on Paxil, albeit an extremely low dose (6.25mg-half of a 12.5), I found the Prozac part of his solution to be questionable. Number one, I don't believe in over medicating. Number two, it is my understanding that with antidepressants like Prozac, you have to take them consistently to achieve the desired effects. Having been on Prozac in the past, I was not willing to go back on it for any reason. I continued to take the Femcon for two more months with no relief of the side effects. Two days ago I went to a different doctor who put me on the generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen. It's been almost two weeks that I have been off the Femcon and I literally feel like a new person. The Femcon did great with controlling the pain and bleeding. However, that was no longer worth the negative side effects I had been experiencing on a daily basis for the last four months. I agree with many of you. The negative and/or positive effects will be individual. This is just my experience with it.

I was prescribed to take 30mg/day (Prednisone) to try to reduce the inflammation brought upon by Ulcerative Colitis. I have taken Prednisone before....up to 60mg/day, when I was first diagnosed with UC. I don't really remember all of the side effects I experienced, but I do remember my calves and feet swelling, a bit a of moon face and very little weight gain due to the UC. Does anyone have any suggestions to how/and when I should take the daily dose of Prednisone (early morning, with food...what kind of food)? Also, I would love to hear from anyone with Ulcerative Colitis and how they are coping with the disease. From their diet when in remission to during a flare-up! Thanks...

I've been on Prednione 20 mg for 7 days and tapering to 10 mg for the next 7 days for very bad case contact dermatisis which spread to my neck and face.

I've been very hyper, very emotional, negative and I've lost four pounds. The only way I can sleep is if I take Ambien (sleep med) and it still takes me over an hour and 1/2 to fall asleep.

My advice to anyone concerned about weight gain during your treatment is to stick to a high protein diet since your blood sugars are raised on this medication. For sleep, get your doctor to prescribe something.

My husband had 3 epidural injections of Kenalog 10 80mg for a herniated disc in the neck. A few days after the last injection he has muscle weakness, insomnia and severe fatigue. Can this be due to the injections? His doctor said that she had never heard of this happening before. I am really concerned. Also I have read that the patient should eat a high protein diet, and to let the Dr know if you are on a low sugar diet. My husband has been on a low sugar diet also and I am not sure if this is affecting him along with the injections???
