I had delayed a recent refill of Welchol because of the cost and found that the hip and leg pain of the last 3 years on Welchol disappeared. Tried it again and pain returned. Still suffering horrible low back pain requiring an MRI (which was negative) I also stopped taking Zetia, which I'd taken for 5 years. Am three weeks without either drug, and have absolutely no back pain, some muscle weakness in legs but no pain, am no longer limping, have noticed that the dark circles under my eyes have improved dramatically - and I can now sleep without sleep aids. I am truly enjoying a pain-free life again and am adopting a dedicated cholesterol lowering diet. Hopefully, exercise will follow as the muscle weakness improves.

Hello, I have been on Lamictal 25 mg 2 times per day for mood stabilizing since Sept 2008. For the past five months I have had extreme lower back and hip and leg pain. I have been being treated for the pain and so far no one has been able to find the cause. I am currently going to pain management because I am in drug and alcohol recovery, pain meds are not and option for me and just had my 2nd epidural spine injection with no relief. I am so GRATEFUL I found this site. God works in his own way. I am calling my doctors now. Thank you all and God Bless.
PS I have never even looked up my drug side effectives before let alone post on a site.

I decided to read about side effects of Welchol. I just got back from the doctor's and she gave me some free samples of this. In the past, I had been on Lipitor and Zetia but had terrible back, hip and leg pain. I went off of those and I was fine. Started on Crestor- same pain in back, hips and legs. Now my doctor says that Welchol is not absorbed in the blood stream so there should be no side effects- only possible heartburn. After reading all of these side effects that everyone is having on Welchol, I am not going to even try it.
I am going to record everything I eat and try to control my cholesterol with a good ,healthy diet. I also have heard that Red Yeast Rice- available at GNC or Health food stores can lower your cholesterol. I might try that but for now I'm doing the healthy diet and exercise.

I posted on April %th about my bad dose of levaquin. This is a little follow up. Today is 15 days since my last pill and ( knock on wood) im feeling pretty good today). last 2 days iv have slight headach and leg pains but today im free and clear. My side effects ran in stages. days 1-5 was panic attach and shoulder, hip and leg pain. The they stooped and it was goin and Stomach pain, constipation, aches. then last set was insomnia and headaches on both side. Last 3 days iv taken benadryle capsules and drand a ton of water almost to the point of drowning myself. but i think it worked. also in th elast few days iv basicly said fuck it, whatever tried to ignore it and not think about it and i think its worked for me. So took me a full 2 weeks once i stoped taking it to clear out of me.

I am now 66 and was on Lipitor for about 10 years and was gradually getting worse, right to the point that my doctor gave me a Hand-I-Cap sticker for my car. I had hip and leg pain so severe I couldn’t function. Not once did my doctor mention Lipitor as a cause but he did have me go through a battery of tests including and MRA to examine circulation, low and behold he told me I had a blockage in my groin and that poor circulation was causing the pain. You guessed it, and arteriogram showed no blockage.
By chance I had watched a person who was only in his 40’s go from a robust person to finally having to use crutches just to get around. Then about a year later I saw him again and he was his old self again. I asked if he had surgery or what he did to recover so quickly and that is when I found out about all of the damage satin drugs can/will do.
I immediately took myself off of Lipitor and now 6 months later I can walk short distances without sever pain. Someday I hope the effect of satin drugs wears off but at my age I will never get back all of the things I missed because of drug companies greed.

I have been on Lipitor for several years now, I am 54 year old female, had heart attack at 47 and at 49 triple by-pass, have diabetes and high blood pressure all under control. For the last 4 or 5 years have been having severe hip and leg pain, worse when laying down, doc finally sent me to specialist and he gave me cortisone shot which did not help. In the last few months my arms have been very painful, along with both my legs . My doc will say it is something else and wont test me, cause after all he wont even take me off Avandia which causes heart attack and has been all over the news lately. so he surely wont believe this.

I was on Benicar for several years with no side effects whatsoever. I'm 42 with borderline high blood pressure and it worked great. I switched to Lisinopril in March/April due to the cost of Benicar and the fact I got laid off the first of the year and no longer have insurance. I discussed this with my Dr. and he recommended Lisinopril due to the cost. He did warn me the cough was a side effect but thought I would try it anyway.
At first everything was fine, but the past month has been a nightmare. Horrible cough, especially at night, the past few weeks I've got next to no sleep. I was sitting here at 1am last night unable to sleep and decided to do a search on Lisinopril side effects and found this forum. Needless to say, my eyes have been opened, as I have experienced a lot of these same side effects since starting the drug, but didn't really put it all together until reading these posts, and it's like looking into a mirror! The cough, the constant muscle pain like I exercised too much, occasion hip and leg pain I didn't have a few months ago, the "fuzzy brain" and listless feelings, I've experienced it all.
As of tonight I am stopping the drug, calling my Dr. and getting lined up for something else. As soon as I get some medical insurance back I'm back on Benicar, until then I'm getting off this stuff. I would rather watch my BP closely than keep coughing up my lungs like I'm currently doing. =)
