Was on Prednisone for 11 days for an injury to my neck. I knew nothing about the drug except what my doctor told me that it would reduce inflammation in my neck and help with pain.

Well, it did nothing for the injury and pain in my neck. BUT.... I had HORRIBLE menstrual cramps and got my period 8 days early. I've had my period for 9 days now AND terrible pain in my upper left leg. I thought the pain was related to my leg and as the days went by I realized it was in my left hip! It's so bad I can't lift my leg without extreme pain. I KNOW IT'S FROM this awful drug.

I've been off of it for 4 days and the pain is still with me. I called my family dr. and was told Prednisone doesn't do that. BULL!! The paperwork I got with it from the pharmacy show "Changes in menstrual periods" "muscle/joint pain" "bone pain".

I wish I knew this BEFORE I ever took it.

Does anyone know if these symptoms and problems will go away after stopping it? I called the pharmacy and was told it will take 2-3 weeks for it to get out of my system!!

Has anyone had problems that eventually went away after stopping the drug?

Thanks and I hope everyone else is okay soon! This drug should be off the market. I received no help for my neck pain at all!!

I got the Mirena inserted in the beginning of December 2008. About three weeks later, I started having excruciating pain in my right side. It went from the bottom of my rib cage to my hip bone. The pain is sporadic and intense, but I haven't had any bleeding. Has anyone else had the stomach cramps without the bleeding?

I have been getting Kenalog injections on and off since I was a teenager. I am now 38 years old. I get these injections about once a year and depending on how bad my allergies get, sometimes twice a year. It is the ONLY MEDICATION that I have ever been able to take that has completely relieved my allergy symptoms. I to have got the "dents" into my skin at the injection sites, which over time have resolved on their own. My hips ache as well but fortunately only just sometimes. Exercise relieves the pain. I am a nurse and know full well the "adverse" side effects from this medication and am reminded by my physician every time I go for the injection. The misery of dealing with my seasonal allergies when nothing either prescription or over the counter helps makes me incredibly grateful for this medication. Everyone will react differently to every medication. People need to realize that it will not work for everyone and there are serious side effects. That is when YOU need to decide if the risks are worth the potential benefits. For me they are, every year I dread spring and summer and will dread it even more if the FDA pulls this drug.

I took Yasmin for 3 years and stopped about 3 weeks ago in hopes of becoming pregnant soon. I am experiencing a rapid resting heart rate (100) and occasional mild chest pains. My blood pressure, however, is normal. I have also had a pain in my lower right abdomen below my hip bone off-and-on for a week. The first day it was sharp and lasted about 20 minutes and I thought it was ovulatory pain (and I guess it still could be). When it lingered, I thought it was my appendix, and now I'm a little confused as to what it is. It is mild and only happens for a few minutes a day. I'm just wondering if these things are all linked to the timing of stopping Yasmin. Has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms? I'm becoming paranoid about my health.

I had a Mirena placed inside me and three days later when I went back for the checkup the doctor couldn't find the strings. I had told him before he checked everything out that I couldn't feel them the day before but he said that I wasn't feeling in the right place most likely. So sure enough when he looked he said he couldn't find them. They did two ultrasounds on me and couldn't find it in my uterus. They sent me up to x-ray and by then I had lost my composure and started crying. When I got my x-rays back you could see so plainly that the Mirena was not in the right spot. It was over near my right hip bone. WAY off track. I took the x-rays back to the doctor and they booked a surgery for the next day to have it removed. I was in surgery for 3 hours total and they found it on my colon. They said it probably tore through my uterus and traveled it way all the way over there. I shouldn't known but especially the doctor should have known something was wrong when he placed it. He had to try THREE times before he got it to stay. and it was SO painful, and to think that it was going to get so much worse from there. do not get one of these. it's not worth the risk.

I am in so much pain right now...am considering going to the emergency room. I've been on Lipitor for 4 or 5 months and have recently began to experience pain in my side from about the middle of my ribs in my back to my hip bone. It has been coming and going and tonight it is almost unbearable. I thought it was just that I had been turning wrong or had pulled a muscle. I was fine this morning when I got up...then I took my medication and within an hour was almost unable to move. The medication is Lipitor. That's when I decided to check out the side effects of Lipitor, because it feels like the pain is in my liver. And I found this site. I am calling my doctor in the morning, that is if I['m still here. I am praying right now the damage isn't too severe to heal on it's on.

On Lipitor for one year. 10 Mg. Started getting bad lower back pain, muscle behind hip bone, which I never had before. Had to roll out of bed in the morning because it was hard to stretch up. Also noticed weakness in lifting arms to open window. Although I am 65 I have never had any type of arthritic pain. I took myself off Lipitor and will never go back on statins.

My mother was put on this medication to build up her blood plateletes. This does not made any sense to us since this was prescribed for my daughter who had severe asthma years ago. It was too severe on my daughter's stomach lining and other than that, did not have any other side effects that we knew of beside some weight gain, which truth to tell, is a family trait anyway. But my mother, who is in her early 70's, has experienced severe cramping, sleeplessness, her hands tremble, her legs tend to curl up, and she becomes nauseous and is losing weight she can't afford to lose. Why everyone else seems to gain weight and she is LOSING weight is wierd. Why she was told to take this medication is something I will find out on her next visit since it has NOTHING to do with building up her blood! My brother has a friend who was on put on this medication back in the 70's and stayed on it for decades. He got the moon face effect and gained 60 pounds; it ate away his hip bone. He has a limp to this day.
