I had Implanon inserted in June 2008, I just had it removed Sept 17 2008. The first side effect was that I gained weight. My appetite increased and I felt like I was constantly hungry. Within the first month I got an Urinary Tract Infection, the infection was so bad that it transferred to my boyfriend through sex.. After a month I started bleeding and it lasted 4 weeks, not spotting just bleeding. I lost my drive for sex, I felt bloated and was too tired ALL THE TIME!!! I was crying over everything, I felt depressed and stressed about everything, my head hurt all the time. My whole body just felt off. I wasn't myself at all. One morning I woke up with a horrible sore throat. I went in for strep test and tested negative. They said it was just a viral infection. A few days after that my muscles started to hurt. My left knee and hip joint began hurting so bad that it was hard to walk and get up out of bed in the morning.(The Implanon was inserted in my LEFT arm). Occasionally I felt tingling in my left arm and fingers. I then notice my left ankle was getting swollen and at that point my whole body felt like it was shutting down.I started to run fevers and thats when I looked up the "possible side effects of Implanon" online. As I read I realized that I had every single side effect even the uncommon more severe ones, but it seemed like my symptoms were multiplied by 100. I called my doctor and she immediately had me come in to have the implanon removed. Today is Sept 22. I have been on bed rest since the implanon was removed. It turns out that my body had rejected the Implanon, treated it like was a foreign object.

Hi, i was suffering from MCD and put on Prednisone 60 mg per day in May 2007 and after 4 weeks my Doctor asked to take alternate days and then taper by reducing 10 mg per week and it was stopped without much of side effects. But it was the beginning what i feel as in Nov 2007 again i had relapses and this time i was on 80 mg dose which i completed for 4 weeks and when it was on alternate days i started with my right hip pain which i reported to my doctor and was suggested not to go for any pain killer as it is due to Prednisone.
When pain increased i was advised to go for hip MRI and today after MRI the technician informed that my hip joint is damaged......yet i have not got the detailed report of MRI. It all caused by this drug as i have never fallen or got any other impact. Now i am on bed as i can't move and as others i am also getting swelling on face, water retention etc.

Like many others, I was given a shot of Kenalog for sinus congestion, and later noticed a small indention in the hip where the shot was given. Over the past 6 months, the area has become larger than a golf ball, turned bluish and become more painful. I've recently noticed a small channel that runs from the original site around to the front of my hip. Sitting for prolonged periods is uncomfortable, and pain in the hip joint is frequent. Of course, the nurse administered the injection, and I was warned of no side effects. I'm angry with the drug manufacturer that this product remains on the market. I'm not a vain person, but the defect is noticeable through my clothing, and is truly ugly. Does anyone know of action being taken against the drug company?

At 42 years old, had triple bypass. I have been taking Zocor for a number of years and have never experienced any side effects. However, my cardiologist raised my dosage to 80mg and I have been taking that amount for about 8 months or so. I have recently (6 months or so) been experiencing joint discomfort in a finger or two and acute pain in my left hip joint, or what seems to be my hip joint. Feels like a sharp object being inserted. Could this be Zocor or just "growing old" pains? I'll be 50 in February, 2003.
