I had my yearly OB appt. earlier this month. I had been on the pill before. She gave me free samples of Loestrin24. HORRIBLE! I never had any negative side effects with bc pill. With this one my sex drive is GONE. My mood swings are terrible. My appetite is gone because of my nausea and intestinal woes. Not only that I am having acne on my face, chest and back. I am 25 years old and I haven't gotten this type of acne in years. Ridiculous. I DO NOT recommend this pill to ANYONE!

After having the third shot I noticed my hair began falling out (July 2007). It is now over a year later and after having numerous blood tests, visiting a dermatologist and doing tons of research, I have concluded that gardasil must be causing this. My hair continues to fall out, I have bald areas around the crown of my head and my mood is very depressed by this. I also experienced soreness in my legs and joints but these are not constant. My periods also are out of whack. They can be between 28-50 days apart. I would not recommend anyone getting this vaccine. I wish my OBGYN had not sold me on it. I was 31 when I got it but she said age didn't matter, she said one day insurance companies would cover this vaccine for all women no matter what age they are. I paid $190.00 a shot and now I have a thin head of hair that may one day soon be bald if it doesn’t stop falling out. I think they should take this vaccine off the market. If anyone else has had severe hair loss, has it stopped falling out after a certain point?

19 year old daughter had shot in may, experienced severe soreness at the injection site, nausea, fainting, lethargy and irritability. Holly continued to complain of general malaise and achy joints. Holly had her 2nd shot in July and left for College in August. When she visited for Thanksgiving break in November, she experienced her 1st known grand mal seizure. We did not get the 3rd shot of the series. Since then she has had several more seizures and was put on anti-seizure meds which at this time are working well. Holly continues to complain of "brain fog" which was present after the first shot and has yet to resolve. She is still irritable, which makes the situation she is dealing with concerning the seizures and the restrictions that she had, almost impossible to deal with.

I was given topamax and I dont have seizures or anything. I have PTSD, Depression, and Panic Disorder. I was all over the map, having violent episode, and no memory of it (which was dissociation). They put me on this while i was in the hospital, and I became so non-functional it wasn't funny. I have a degree, grad school, and am 1/2 way through a masters, so I am normally well spoken rationale and well thought out. I was having trouble finding simple words. The effects came on immediately. My memory and cognitive abilities have been permanently affected. I was on for a year live in a outside a small city, and have no real option for other doctors. Not to mention..I found out that this drug has a high rate of users getting depression and in particular at risk for suicide. That was what happened with me...prior to taking it..Then they put me on it?
Trouble seeing, cognitive abilities, memory, depression (was already depressed, and suicidal, but I think it was counterproductive to the anti-depressants)
Is their any action against this drug?

I have had the Mirena since June of 2004. That would make it three years. I have never had any problems with it up until two or three months ago. I went from 150 pounds to almost 170 pounds. I am a mother of two children and I am 23 years old. I skipped two periods before I had one last month. I have had MAJOR weight gain and a LOT of stomach pain. Everytime I eat, I blow up like a balloon. I HATE it. I can feel myself slowly becoming depressed. I am glad that I researched this because now I can go and get this situation under control. And maybe even get my sex drive back. I never would have had this inserted three years ago if I knew all the pain it was going to cause me now. Thank you for putting this site up.

My breasts hurt, Im cramping 24/7 and Im so depressed Im having thoughts of cutting myself. This behavior is not like me. I normally bounce everywhere I go but I have been doing nothing but cry and get angry and feel like I have no control of my life. I took the ring out last night but I have been told it will take a couple of weeks to get back to normal. I think if I would have kept it in I would have killed myself.

severe short term memory loss, notable irritability and aggression. I've been on 1-2mg a day for a year now and prior to that I was on .5mg a day with memory loss issues even then. If anything, I'd say the higher the dose, the higher the aggression, lethargy, confusion, and irritability are. Also I have blurred vision but since I am on adderall, that tends to go away shortly after I take it. For me the side affects outweigh the risks...Klonopin slows my racing thoughts and practically erases my overwhelming social anxiety and panic. I also have very, very few intense panic attacks anymore, maybe twice a year? This sure beats twice a day...With school it is hard, I am a senior in college and the memory thing is quite the frustration. But, like I said before, it outweighs the risks to take this drug. I also used to be a drug addicts and have had no issue with abusing this drug. I respect its limitations for it resects me by helping me, literally. Hope this helps.- H. in South Florida.
