My son is 11 years old. He has been on Singulair for about six years. Ihave taken him to see a psychologist twice because of his terrible mood swings. He was diagnosed with depression last year. I am very concerned about this drug now. He has also suffered from migraines for two years. I also pulled him out of school and started homeschooling him because of the stress of school was causing three migraines a month. I also have a 19 year old boy who is not on singulair now. He took it for 8 years and was diagnosed with ADHD. He also went through depression as a child. I am making a appointment for my son to go back to his allergy doc tomorrow. Also I am not blaming my sons illness on singulair, but I am terrible concerned that it could have harmed my sons.

I;m only 17 and this is the third time that I've been on Lupron. It does suck at time's but you learn how to deal with it. Last month I had my 7th surgery for endo. In June when I turn 18 they are thinking about doing a hysterectomy, which I really need. The first time I was on Lupron I gained about 20 or 30 pounds. But the last two times I've actually LOST weight. Right now I'm experiencing hair loss, weakness, and headaches.I cry a lot, anything bad or anything people say I get really upset. Anger is like no other. Each day is different which is very difficult because my friends don't believe how I feel. From having stage 4 endo , I had to be pulled out of school and put into home schooling.

I was sent to psychologist after psychologist as a child because I couldn't pay attention in grade school. I was finally put on Ritalin. I'm 45 now and a parent myself and suffer from mild, but unexplainable bouts of anger as a result of Ritalin. Here's some of what I've learned through experience: First, 99% of the time, pharmaceuticals are not the answer. They do a good job of masking symptoms and depriving you of quality of life, but not treating the larger problem. Second, public school is no place for intelligent children. The pace is so slow and uninteresting (and I might add un-necessary) that it is easy to diagnose nearly any child as ADD. Home schooling is the best option. Private school is next but really expensive. Second and most important is diet. A diet high in sugar is awful for attention spans. If you send your children to school after a breakfast of sugared toast, or sugared cereal, as mine did, they won't perform well and will "crash" in a couple of hours. Manufactured foods and artificial sweeteners are also part of the problem. Our brains and bodies are not designed to be run on things that are artificial. Last, ALL network TV, and most cable TV is a hopeless, mind-numbing, reprogramming tool. Turn it off and open the books. Enjoy music or the silence of nature. Your kids will be better off for your efforts.
Hope that helps. Rick ******
