Homeopathic remedies symptoms and conditions

I was prescribed Levaquin for a sinus infection/ bronchial infection, and it through me through a loop. I couldn't sleep, had crazy dreams, I literally felt this drug moving through my whole body, and the next day I was exhausted even more exhausted than I was from being sick, and am having hot and cold flashes. I am sure this has reduced some of my sinus symptoms, but it is NOT WORTH IT!!! This is a strong medication, and I wouldn't advise anyone take it unless they had no alternatives. This antibiotic should not be prescribed to the average Joe with a Sinus Infection. This is a seriously strong medicine, with severe side affects. I only took it for one day, and threw it in the trash. My doctor called in a different prescription. I am going to use homeopathic remedies from now on. I feel like I have to at least take this alternate antibiotic though since I already started the cycle. I am going to do serious research before I put even one pill in my mouth though

I'm 18 years old and I've been taking Advair (500) for about 4 years. I've had very persistant asthma my whole life and my Advair seems to save me from having to use my albuterol around 6 times a day. About 9 months ago i lost my voice for over 2 months. After that went away I had a break for about one month then around 6 months ago I developed what seems like a smokers cough yet I don't smoke. I just got a chest x-ray done and they said it was normal. They put me on steroids and antibiotics but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Could it be the Advair? I don't know that I can go without it even if it is. I want to get rid of this congestion in my lungs. I'm sick of coughing up mucus daily. Does anyone have any advice?

I took 500 mg. Levaquin for 9 days for a sinus infection, beginning 2/20/08. I noticed my hips ached, my lower back (kidneys?) did as well along with chest pressure, insomnia and overall tiredness, which I suspect was associated with the insomnia. I took it at night, so while I noticed dizziness when I was up at night, it didn't affect my day. After speaking with my doctor, I stopped taking the medication, and I won't take it again. Has anyone tried naturopathic or homeopathic remedies to help cure the side effects? I'm tired of the "cure" being worse than the sickness. Thanks.

Our son was on Zyrtec for 3 years, we just took him off and went a homeopathic route for his allergies. While on zyrtec, he was so emotional, had trouble in school, cried a ton and was overall a mess! A few days after we changed his meds, he was a DIFFERENT person for the better!

I was really relieved to have found this information. I thought I was loosing it! I am 38 and was having bursts of rage, crying for nothing... could it be menopause? NO! Unfortunately these are not listed for physicians as side effects so my doctor friend then just thought I was nuts.
The vivid dreams were a more positive side effect for me, but seeing things while awake wasn't quiet as fun. So, I'm off the Zyrtec.
I know people are saying we sound crazy, but bottom line is not all medications are for everyone. And we should know about these potential issues so if they do arise we know its the medication and not something else.

I've had my Mirena for about 15 and a half months and I am having it removed today at 2 o'clock. At first I had sharp pains when I would sit down and I felt like the cords were poking me and irritating me. My OB/GYN requires patients to come back one month after having it put in so he can check it and make sure it is still in place. At this visit he also trimmed the cords although he acted like he didn't believe me when I told him that I could feel them poking me when I sat down and that it hurt. At first I didn't notice any bad side effects, but I did have one good one: my periods stopped, but I still had occasional and sporadic spotting. I didn't think to look for any bad side effects because I got the device under the impression that it had no bad side effects. I thought it only had a rare complication of perforating the uterus, but since mine was in place at the one month check, I didn't think about anymore until I started thinking about having another baby recently. I went online to see if I had to have a doctor remove the Mirena or if I could do it myself, and I found out that it's best done by a professional because bad things can happen and then you'd have to go to the doctor anyway. Plus, I didn't want to hurt my chances of having another baby. While online I discovered this whole world of message boards where women were having a lot of the same problems I'd been having in recent months and they all blamed their Mirenas. Some claimed that their problems had gone away since having it removed. I never thought to link my circumstances to the Mirena, but when I saw how many women are having the exact same problems as me I knew that I needed to go ahead and get mine out ASAP. Here is a list of my side effects, and I've found other women have had them as well with Mirena: weight gain, bloated stomach, depression, short temper with husband and daughter, acne, low sex drive, spotting, cramps, constipation, and back pain. There may be more, but I can't remember them all right now. Some of them may not even be related to the device, but I've read of so many women with Mirena who are having or have had the same issues, so I suspect a link between my problems and Mirena. My daughter was born with a breathing condition(never pinpointed) that kept her in intensive care for almost 2 weeks. As she grew she seemed ok. Then pneumonia appeared at 1 1/2yrs. and she has been hospitalized 5 times since with various forms of pneumonia(walking, single, double) since. We moved from the city to the 'burbs and all seemed well. She would take the occasional Xopenex(Abuterol made her nuts). To make a long story short, after 2 years in the new house new symptoms appeared. All of a sudden there was coughing at night that would not stop. We went to a new Dr. and he prescribed Singulair. This was October of '06. Soon thereafter, the behavior began to get worse. Tantrums and extreme moodiness began to become more frequent and her school work began to suffer. We've just been informed that the school is recommending holding her back. When I talked to the teacher, she indicated that my daughter has gotten "worse" since Christmas. Teacher also does not believe that there are any learning disabilities. I know that it is the Singulair. She has the constant stomach ache and no appetite to speak of. All of the professionals are assurring me that Singulair is safe. She is not on this nasty drug any longer... Waiting for changes...

Thank you for all of your shares! Has anyone experienced Diarrhea as a result of taking Yasmin 28? I have been on it for 4/5 years. I started taking it because my GYN diagnosed me with endometriosis and my periods were heavy and sooo very painful. So, at first it was a relief; my periods didn't last as long, were not as heavy and the cramps were lessened. HOWEVER, ever since I have been on the Yasmin, I have been certainly very moody, and I have had moderate to severe tummy pains a lot of the time, and spontaneous bowel movements including diarrhea! I have tried every medication from anti-spasmadic meds to anti-anxiety meds to homeopathic remedies and probiotics. I was diagnosed with IBS many years ago but the symptoms grew soooo much worse ever since I started the Yasmin!! After being on Yasmin, it was as if my whole gastro system broke down; I have seeked help & testing from gastroenterologists since I developed ulcers due to h-pylori bacteria, diverticulosis of the intestines, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining)and I even developed a hiatal hernia and have to take prevacid daily ever since I started taking Yasmin! I eat healthy, I am 33 years old, I don't drink or do drugs and I don't smoke. I swear I am beginning to think all of this may have been caused by the Yasmin since none of it was occurring before I started taking the Yasmin 4.5 years ago!? I think I want to get off of it now, but I am afraid to take any other birth control due to suffering from more side effects. Although I do want to have children with my boyfriend when we get married in a few years, I am in fear of getting pregnant now if I get off the Yasmin. I don't even know if the rythym method truly works. Help?!

Is there any trick to get the "moon face" to disappear faster??? I was only on prednisone for 3 weeks but don't even look like myself now. I am embarassed to see people at work or make new acquaintances. This really ticks me off as I had just lost a lot of weight and finally had a thinner face... now it is a balloon as if I were heavy again! do you think drinking lots of water or a diuretic will help? know of any homeopathic remedies?
