I have been on this horrific drug for just over two years and have wanted to be off of it since the six month mark...i am not on it for depression but for focus...FOCUS, i cannot begin to describe the memory problems that i have...i can be standing in front of a person i have known for years and i will not be able to come up with their name or how i know them...luckily it does not seem to cause problems with my actual work but it is rather embarrassing when your boss walks up and you have to think hard to figure out who they are...side effects...i have gone from being a so called gorgeous man to a frumpy 30 lbs heavier man, and i still run five to ten miles a day and i eat less than i ever have...try to explain that...it is almost like i am swollen...i have horrible dreams, i sweat, i panic, i shake and i have a constant feeling of having a heart attack...try and live thinking you are having a heart attack when you are not but then again do you really know...in other words what if i have been desensitized to thinking i am actually having a heart attack when i actually am, may i rest in peace if that is the case...
when i have actually tried to come off the pills i have been violent (i never have been before in life), irrational, can't sleep, double vision, electrical shocks just by moving my eyes, can't move and bruise to the point that i look like a junkie who has injected himself everywhere...
my doctor never warned me of any of this, nor can i find it on the wyeth website (with the exception of the memory issues, which was not there when i started taking the drug...
i am so very sad over all of this...don't become like me

They had me on a 600mg dose to begin with, which I cut way down to 200mg daily.I have high blood pressure and tachycardia and it does lower all that quite well. However, I am scared to go to bed at night, because I wake up shaking like I'm having seizures, I feel like my whole body is twitchy. Leg cramps, ringing in my ears, vomiting, nausea, dizziness, hot sweats, cold sweats, dark spots on the wall, (my blood pressure was normal), thirst, panic and anxiety, not caring about life or the house or bills, and horrible dreams, no appetite, then increased appetite, insomnia, and this all started about 3 days into the meds. Let your body adjust to it, yeah, it's getting worse so we'll see.

OMG I am so glad I found this site!!! I have been taking YAZ for 4 months. I have been on/off several birth control pills, some with no side effects and some with. These are the worst!!! I felt like I was going crazy until I found this site. At first all I noticed was moodiness, instead of having PMS a couple days before my period I had it all month except for before and during my period. Then about 2 months into it I started feeling fuzzy headed, unable to focus, started having tingles in my arms and legs like when your foot is asleep. If I take the pill at night I have horrible night sweats and if I take it in the morning I am tired all day and have horrible dreams. The worst of it was I was having severe episodes of vertigo, the room starts spinning and I have to grab hold of stuff. It was really scary, I am a single mom and was scared that I might fall at home and my toddler would be unable to go for help. I thought maybe my iron or blood sugar was low so I went to the doctor and had a full work up on my blood - everything came back fine. The doctor wanted to send me for a CAT scan and I didn't want one as I had started wondering if it could be the pill. I am calling my gynecologist today to get it switched. Thank you so much for all your posts! Me, my family, and my job all were thinking I was going crazy or just a hypochondriac.
On a side note - I do have 3 teenage cousins who take this pill and have no side effects. However I have always been very sensitive to medication. This pill may work for some, but not for me.

This is my first time taking Zyrtec D. It was recommended by my local pharmacist. I have had a terrible sinus infection which has lead to a massive ear infection. The ear infection is getting worse . every time I blew my nose, I felt like my ears were going to pop right off my head. Anyhow, the only thing that has made me feel better is Zyrtec D however the side effects I am experiencing from this are far more worse and are not worth it. I am very anxious to the point where my muscles ache. I also have excessive crying spells and I also have been super angry all day. I have taken 2 pills in the past 24 hours. My ears are still clogged but my nose is clear. I am also experiencing shortness of breath and increased heart rate. I also can not sleep and I keep waking up with horrible dreams. I have been searching the internet now to figure out how to get this drug out of my system. Although I can now breath, the side effects are not worth it. I would rather have a stuffed nose then ever take this again.

Started the z pack for bronchitis and sinus infection. First symptoms was stomach cramps, diarrhea. The next and most disturbing symptoms were extreme agitation, anxiety, depression. Have finished the last of the medicine 4 days ago and am still feeling the residual anxiety, agitation, general feeling of unease. Will never take this medicine again.

I have been taking ambien for about five years. I have experimented with 5mg, 10mg and ambien CR, and mixing small doses (5mg or less) with one Advil PM. Mixing the two worked very well for a while. All I want is to feel rested and sharp during the day. I have been known to cook elaborate meals and make a MESS in the kitchen only to wake up the next morning with chicken burrito all over my bed with me. I have also sent emails and made calls I don't remember. I also... and this is the worst... did some online shopping and bid on many EBAY items that I had no memory of. When you wake up and your credit card is laying next to your computer on the bed... your in big trouble.

My son is almost 9, he has been on Singulair for 3 years. Last Friday the pulmonologist took him off of it. My son has been sleep walking since about the time he started singulair, have noticed major behavior changes. He gets very angry over nothing, he is extremely sensitive, he is not the happy little boy he once was. He has horrible dreams. Over time this has gotten progressively worse. I have to say that since last Friday when he was taken off the singulair, I have noticed a huge difference. My happy little boy is coming back! I told the Pulmonologist my concerns ans could this be side effects and he replied "YES", Also, he feels that my son has outgrown his asthma which is wonderful. I feel so horrible for all these children and families going through this. Parents, remember you are your child's best advocate. don't let the children suffer.

Within 5 days of beginning course of Geodon, 40mg daily, doc doubled my dosage to 80mg, began to have problems. Intensely manic, easily frightened, insomnia, terrifying dreams. I decided to get out of hospital ASAP and decide if to quit taking Geodon.
On day six already my face was twitching, was irritable and manic, pacing, increasingly manic throughout day, decided to skip evening dose, keep total dosage same as before, 40mg. Began tripping around midnight and it was all downhill from there. Sleepless all night, by morning I had convulsions, increased heart rate, fear and anxiety, psychosis, uncontrollable crying. Had another seizure 12 hours later. Slept a little with help of Valium. Next day developed Parkinson's like symptoms, had my father not been there to help me, Lord knows what would have happened to me. Still awake in day 3 of withdrawal. Hoping the worst is over.

Effexor did work for my depression, but it did give me a lot of side effects. One for instance that was horrible is when I drank alcohol. My friends indicated to me the next day that I became a different person when I drank. The worst was that I couldn't remember a thing the next day what happened the night before! Also, when I was trying to get off the medication after being on it for a year it also gave me the WORST nightmares. I was yelling and screaming in my sleep. I dreaded going to bed every night because of the horrible dreams I was having.

I was on Lamictal 125MG at night for PTSD and anxiety for over 4 years - it took over 6 weeks to come off of it and it was very difficult - I felt sick most of the time - nauseaus, dizzy, migraine, tired, joint pain, anxious, mood swings. I have been off of it for 2 weeks now and I am still having headaches, dizziness, tired all the time, horrible dreams, difficulty sleeping and I wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air with out of control heart palpatations. I have not had night terrors in years. Is this a side effect of coming off of the medication? I learned in my research that this had not been FDA approved until I had been taking it for quite some time - is that ethical medical practice?

I too was prescribed this horrible medication. I was to the point where I thought I had lung cancer or throat cancer. The coughing was horrible. I am a Supervisor and every time I talked to one of my workers I would break out in this horrible cough. I also had the night sweats, horrible dreams and weakness. Thank God for this website. I stopped taking this poison two weeks ago and the coughing is starting to subside, along with the weakness and fatigue. I will never take this medication again. Thanks for the website and the wonderful postings. I think if I had continued on this drug it would have killed me. Sherry in FL

Ok so I have been taking lisinopril since July 20th, against the advice of my husband who is an RN. He said the side effects were hell and had long term effects. I however was convinced that my physician new better. I have had the weird dreams, night sweats, nausea, horible abdominal cramps. This mornig I woke up with a swollen face, severely swollen tounge to the point I could not swollow and was drooling. My lymph nodes and neck swollen as well. Needless to say we went right to the hospital before I stopped breathing. When I told the doctor what I was taking he said to immediately stop it, as it was a rare side effect of the lisinopril. GREAT Something to cure me almost killed me. After a cortisone shot and a week of prednisone I should be back to normal. Im going to listen to my husband now, eat less salt and excercise more. My 6 year old son has had all of these more or less. He has been on Singulair for about 5 months. We took him off last Friday when he started having seizures. It is only now that we are connecting the things he has complained about. He is still going through testing but everytime a test is done it is negative. He is in perfect health. The dr.s are stumped. What happens is, he smells a wierd smell. Then he sees lights. After this he has a bad headache and becomes weak so he lays down. Shortly thereafter he stiffens and starts shaking his arms and legs while clinching his hands. He also grunts and makes a buzzing sound and appears as though he only breathes out. the dr.s say it is not seizures but movement disorder and if it is Singulair it should be out of his system within 3 days... He is still having the seizure type fits and its been a week since we took him off singulair. He is still losing his temper and having horrible dreams as well. Cat scan was normal, EEG was normal, blood work is ok, they want to do an MRI but does this sound familiar to anyone?

My side effects have been mostly related to sleep. I have not slept well in several weeks. Waking up, horrible dreams, feeling like I have been yanked out of bed. When you do not sleep well, you will have memory problems, mood problems, muscle pains, and no energy. For the last few weeks, I have had to take naps every day. I have struggled with my college work as I am 49 and back in college. Can;t seem to remember what I have read or do any computations in my math class without help.
I have cut the dosage in half the past two days and have already noticed the difference. I am able to read and remember, sleeping better, no horrible dreams. Mood is definitely better. I need to keep taking this drug as it has been the only drug to help by nighttime asthma. I am now on 5 mg daily --which is a child's dose for ages 6-14.

I have been on Singulair for 5 weeks. I moved from Orlando to Charlotte and got a sinus infection and noticed I had used my albuterol inhaler about once a day since being in Charlotte. So I went to the DR here and she said oh the allergy season has just started so we need to get you on Sigulair. I told her we had just moved and I was in the process of unpacking boxes, stress ect and really didn't think my asthma was that bad, it has always been very mild and contolled with predisone for a few days maybe once a year. She said Singulair would be great and I should start it right away, lets see how it will help. When I filled the prescription I noticed 12 refills, I was suspicious but decided to try it for a few days/weeks while we continued to get settled in. After about 3 days I did notice a slight improvem, ent in my allergies was it the medicine or maybe just getting the boxes out of the house. A few more days went by I was having a terrible time getting to sleep, staying alseep and when I did I was having horrible dreams. The kind that when I did wake up I was unsure what was real and what was a dream. My appetite was strange I just wanted alot of salty things and ate erratic. My moods have gottten increasingly worse and I have started kicking things that are in my way, I have NO patience for anything and really can't stand to be near me and it is hard to get away from me. I also have worked very hard to lose weight and had done well, in the past 5 weeks I have gained 7 pounds, this is not acceptable. My memory has gotten so bad that I will walk into one room and have to stand there for a minute to remember why I was heading that way. I ache and have muscle pain that is not explainable and if I do anything like take a walk or even clean the bathroom I feel like I have run a marathon. So I am not taking it anymore, I am hoping that nothing horrible will happen I think I will feel better, these side effects are wacky and can't be good for my body as a whole. I am 46 years old never been hospitalized for asthma. I am going to find a better way to handle any allergies or asthma that may come up. I am in winderment as to why this drug is touted a "miricle" drug and says by taking it one will have a normal life. I also wonder how many doctors actually take it themselves, I wish they would respond to this site and to our concerns.
Best to all and Thanks for sharing, it has helped me get off of this drug and know that I am not losing it.

I was prescibed Levaquin about three weeks ago for a sinus and kidney infection. After a few days I began to have horrible dreams but associated these with a very disturbing murder in our area. I couldn't sleep, had terrible headaches, but associated this with my sinus infection. After 10 days I was no better but felt worse so I called my doctor and he wanted me to take the Levaquin for another 10 days. After this I developed severe pain in my calves, knees, arms, back, and hands. I attributed this to my fibroymyalgia but as the days have gone by, I'm getting progressively worse. The pain is so bad that pain medication won't even help. I talked with my brother in Florida tonight and he told me that he had had the same problem when he was on Levaquin. I decided to look up the medication and found all of these remarks. I am to go to my doctor tomorrow and I'm going to take these with me. I won't take this medication again. I have missed church and so much more because I have been in pure misery. I had taken this before and thought the pain was just coming from my fibromyalgia but this time it is much worse. It hurts to walk, or stand, for any period of time. My husband just read all the remarks and said that he was having some of the same problems. It turns out that he is taking Levaquinn for a prostate infection. I'm going to take him with me tomorrow to the doctor to see if he can't be given something else. I just hope it isn't too late for me. I've had fibromyalgia for years but never had pain this bad. I'll do my homework from now on with any medications that I've been given. Let me know what is recommended if the pain doesn't go away. Penny

My one year old daughter was prescribed Omnicef as a "last effort" before sending her to an ENT doc when 4 other antibiotics tried over a 2 1/2 month period refused to drain her right ear. She's only been on it one day, and was up SCREAMING twice last night (about 12 hours after taking the meds), acting like she was having HORRIBLE dreams. Once in the middle of the night it appeared that she temporarily stopped breathing, and when regaining her breath wasn't herself, acting all floppy-like. I was up with her all night. Once up, she appeared fine. But after her nap, she had a MAJOR bowel movement...1/2 of which seemed REALLY purplish/red--almost as if it MIGHT be blood, but not sure. After reading what everyone else has written, think I'll be calling her pediatrician. Her second dose of this antibiotic has her SCREAMING again--almost as if she's having serious intestinal discomfort. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ANTIBIOTIC!!!!!

I recently took the single dose liquid Z-Pak for what was supposed to be bronchitis. Three days later, I have a full-fledged sinus infection and painful, ringing in my ears. The stuff also seems to have given me horrible dreams, and I can sleep for only about and hour and a half at a time. During the time I'm awake, i'm so befuddled I can barely function. How long does it take for this stuff to get out of your system?

I just found this site and I'm totally AMAZED at all the similar complaints I have. I am a 46 year old female and have been on Zocor for about 6 years. My cholesterol is high, due to heredity. I've gone from 20mg, to 40 mg, to 80 mgs. I had leg cramps so badly with the 80 mg. that I just quit taking it. I was put back on 40 mgs. and still have many of the complaints.. i.e.... chronic muscle pain in neck, shoulders, arms, legs... chest pain/burning just doing minimal walking (saw cardiologist and had treadmill - nothing found)... a rash that comes and goes on my face, especially on and around my eyelids... insomnia... strange to horrible dreams... sudden lower abdonimal protrusion (never had that in my life!)... inability to lose weight... So, there you have it. I will be consulting with my doctor and getting off this horrible medicine! Diet and exercise will be a forever friend to me. I'm so glad I found this site.

I am a 29 year old male, 170 lbs and was very active. I have been on 75mg twice a day for about two weeks now. I was put on it for nerve damage in my knee after an injury 3 years and 3 surgeries ago. It has been the only thing besides cannabis that has even touches the pain. But since our wonderful laws have not changed yet here in Minnesota I have been looking for other alternatives again. Finally my doctor suggested this. So far the shooting pain has all but disappeared. I have been able to push it in physical therapy and recover from my last surgery faster. The only side effect I have had to deal with is really vivid and horrible dreams. I hope they go away soon. I am sick of loosing sleep. Good luck to the rest of you guys and I hope everyone finds a way to become more comfortable.
