Just finished my 4th pill-500mg. each. Woke up to ringing in my ears, panicky feeling, and horrible taste in mouth. Am concerned b/c am on pills for blood pressure, and don't want it going up! Will not take 3rd day dose before getting my blood pressure checked and talking to pharmacist. The drug has already cleared my sinuses and my upper chest infection, though.

I am a single mother of 2 children, I wanted to quit smoking so my doctor said to try Bupropion ER150MG for a 1 week and 3days The first week it was 1 pill a day then 2pills from there on out. The affects hit me the second day it has helped with cutting down on smoking and it makes them taste very plain and nasty. I have these systems/side affects already>feel slow, dry mouth, horrible taste in mouth, food and sodas taste nasty food has nasty taste as well and headaches first week. Very emotional ever since I started taking 2pills, just a thought and I would tear up. Like today this morning I was emotional and around 1o'clock I was Bitchy and irritable. I feel drudged honestly. Totally not me I only get emotional when on my period and Bitchy hardly ever! Sleep well lets say I wake up a couple times every night since I have been on it period. I am a deep sleepier too. I have no clue on what to do if I should give it more time or tell the doctor I'm done? I just want to quit smoking with something thats not going to affect me like this. I have no anger problems or anything like that just smoking. I am actually under weight for my age I don't know if thats why it has affected me so quickly 5'5 and weight 107-109 26yrs old I have not been eating as much as I usually do and have a high metabolism and I seem that I have gained a pd or 2. Don't understand I just think it's mess me all up. I waited an hr or two later to take my next pill tonight and I felt so good like myself, I will also say it seems to leave my system within 9 to 10 hrs it suppose to stay in your system for 12hrs but not me. If anyone can help me on advice feel free to email me please ******Thanks Mel

I was on Biaxin for over a year to treat a re-occurrence of a serious lung infection. I am very sensitive to meds, but the only side effect I had with this drug was the horrible taste.

Depression is not the word ....if this stuff was biblical, it would be the devil.
i have never felt like life didn't matter, i have never felt like i wanted to give up, but over the last few days i have, and i know it is a direct result of doxycycline. I stopped taking yesterday (had for lyme dis).
sever headaches, nausea, chest pain, panic attacks, etc....

NO WONDER THIS IS A FREE PRESCRIPT....they get you on your second visit after your doc prescribes zoloft or something for you.

Hi and please feel free to email me. I was on Lipitor for quite a while (20mg)without any issues. Due to insurance etc I was switched to 40mg of simvastatin---with in a short time i noticed i was waking nearly every morning with a mouth full of junk requiring a deep throat clearing. Then a low level sore throat that persisted for more than two weeks. I went to my doc who agreed that it may be related (though I think she doubted it) and had me stop. Now i have been off for 5 days and still my throat is sore (though not sore to swallow) and mouth generally feels "messed up".

If any of you have had any sore throat experiences etc please let me know. Also how long did your side effects last once you came off the drug?

I have been on Prednisolone about 4 times in recent years. the highest dose was last year when i was on 80mg reducing weekly by 5mg. I have had most of the side affects you all talk about above. I have severe colitis so the side-effects of this drug are something i have to put up with. at the moment i have all the classic side-effects i usually get, rapid hunger, swelling to my face (moon face), neck has layer of fat, swollen back (buffalo hump), bruising easily, horrible taste in my mouth, swollen stomach. the one good side effect is it gives me lovely smooth skin lol. anyway the point of my post isn't to rip this drug appart as i have to say for me its a wonder drug and this time has prevented me from having my bowel removed! from personal experience once you finish the steroid treatment after a few weeks you'll notice the swelling go, my hunger usually fizzles out quite quickly (altho i have a large appetite in the first place!!) none of the side effects are permanent, so please all rest assured you will go back to normal just try not to put on too much weight while on the drug.

I just started NR YESTERDAY morning. My clinician was really pushing me to try it and even sent me away with a 4 month supply. I dunno why she was so insistent, but she told me she has most of her patients on it and they all LOVE it. What a crock!!! I was skeptical and brought it up with my bofo who thought the premise of the ring was iffy and likely a good way to get us pregnant. So i had my doubts going in, and THIS morning i woke up with a runny/bloody nose, an achy throat, a horrible taste in my mouth (similar to peroxide), and unrelenting nausea (i vomited at work). Don't have a change in mood, or any aversion to sex or loss of sex drive, but i'm not waiting to find out. I am seeing my clinician tomorrow about this and am going back to the pill.

To start off i'm a 16 year old male, I had a very bad sinus infection that crept up on me. I left school at 10:00 AM and went to the doctor, she prescribed Biaxin 10 days 500mg a day I took the pill around 12:30 after eating some soup. The first day I took this medication was not "horrible" I was still feverish from the sinus infection and was just generally not feeling well...

By day 2 I was starting to feel not as great about it, I experienced for the first time the "horrible taste" that everyone else seems to experience, and quite frankly it sucked. All day any food I ate would burn through me within a half an hour of eating, I had to use the bathroom constantly and my stomach would hurt between trips. My sinus infection was beginning to clear up at this point, but I just didn't feel like myself, I attributed it to being sick. I went to bed and woke up several times throughout the night, in between I had very vivid dreams, fortunately they were not nightmares.

Day 3 I began to get all teary eyed for no reason, I don't remember the last time I cried so this was kind of confusing to me, I woke up very dehydrated and realized my bed was soaked through with sweat, I still didn't feel like myself and began to research the side effects of Biaxin. My stomach settled for the most part but I had those other symptoms to deal with.

Day 4 I felt normal for the most part, at points in the day I would get extreme vertigo, nausea, stomach pain, intense sweating at odd periods and once again the tearing eyes came back. Got a bad nosebleed during the day, but that was because I was blowing my nose so much. I told my mom that I wanted to stop taking it and she said I still had to (I was on a 10 day pack)

Day 5 Nausea, more extreme sense of vertigo, did not feel like myself, felt dazed and confused, sinus infection has degenerated into a cold, but the cold isn't budging. Stress of life is getting to me a lot more than usual

Day 6 I am really stressed, I keep getting nauseous, cant think straight, constant headaches, dehydration no matter how much water I drink, food goes right through me, overall it's a bad scene, tearing eyes have stopped however, more depressed than usual, later that evening (I took the meds on a full stomach) after I ate dinner I was sitting in bed finishing a paper for school when I was hit by a bout of vertigo and nausea so bad that I couldn't even get to the toilet before I began throwing up, this throwing up opened my nose bleed again so it became difficult to clean up... I told my mom I was done taking the medication at this point.

In review, my taste is severely altered, food doesn't taste as it should, I'm still dizzy (on day 8 now but not taking it anymore) still headache and the vertigo is finally starting to fade. I lost almost an entire week of work at school because I was unable to retain the information in class (im normally a good student).... totally screwed totally stressed and the Biaxin is just making the stress harder to handle... I'd give it a 0 out of 5...

I had 95% occlusion of the major artery in my heart July 2007 with no symptoms except slight shoulder pain on 3 occasions. They did a cath and inserted 2 stents. Started with Lipitor 10 mg. and my LDL dropped from 75 to 112. The MD wanted to double the dose, but I refused because of intermittent nocturnal nausea. MD switched me to another statin and I had immediate muscle involvement and severe nausea at night. She wanted me to try another statin drug and I refused. After a 2 month period of no statins, she put me back on Lipitor 10 mg. daily. I decided to cut the pill in half and take it twice a week, then move to every other day and gradually go to 10 mg. daily. Immediately, the nocturnal nausea started again. Last night I awoke at 2 a.m. with nausea, sweating, sore muscles around my rib cage. Still no sleep at 4:30 a.m., so I got up and tried to eat something. This has been the pattern every night since I went on Lipitor.

I don't know if I can take this any more.

I am about 8 weeks pregnant and was prescribed Zofran by my ob/gyn for severe nausea. I bragged on the drug after the 1st dose because I felt wonderful. I was prescribed every 8 hours as needed. The first pill I took on a Tuesday night, the second on Thursday night when I developed severe motion sickness, the third on Friday (by then I could not stand to move around). By Monday of the next week I felt as if I was going to explode. I was extremely miserable. I realized that I felt worse after the Zofran because of severe constipation. I felt as if everything I had eaten for the last week was just sitting in my stomach. I had nausea, dizziness, headaches, indigestion w/reflux, excessive gas and bloating, and a horrible taste in my mouth. I stopped taking the Zofran and used an enema and prune juice to clear my system. Some how, compare to how the Zofran made me feel the nausea doesn't seem so bad!

I was injected with Septocaine for a lower mandibular nerve block for a root canal on my lower jaw, right side. Since then, I have had a terrible paresthesia of my tongue with burning pain, numbness, tingling, stiffness, and horrible taste sensations 24/7. It's been 10 months and still no relief. I believe I've been permanently damaged by this drug. My lingual nerve is damaged. Any ideas on what do do will be appreciated.

My insurance changed and i was substited budeprion for the other generic for Wellbutrin which was buproprion. The first thing I noticed is that I was extremely irratable and downright mean to people. I never used to be like that while on Wellbutrin. I cried easily and this new pill just did not help me like the old original. But the most annoying side effect I have noticed is that it has given me an awful odor. It took me awhile to put two and two together but I noticed the budeprion has an awful smell in the bottle as soon as I took the lid off. Then I noticed my urine had a horrible strong smell which I associated with the same smell as the pill. Now I also am afraid it is being excreted thru perspiration as well. I am certainly not going to continue to take this budeprion if it is making me smell bad! Has anyone else noticed this side effect?

I took 25 mg of Elavil for about a week for insomnia and chronic pain. It did nothing to help me sleeper relieve the pain and I started getting a horrible taste in my mouth, like spoiled food. It also made my reflux worse which I had under control with Nexium. I had to stop taking it because the horrible taste in my mouth was keeping me awake.

I have been on Topamax for a little over a year. I've had most of the side effects; tingling, numbness in the fingers, dry mouth, forgetfulness, and weight loss - love the weight loss. All the side effects have sort of slowed down as I've been on the medication longer. The weight loss has slowed and I've even began to get my appetite back- I'm afraid I'm going to start gaining weight now! I've lost about 40 pounds and I needed to lose it, so that was wonderful. I've had a very hard time losing weight all my life so this was wonderful.

I was addicted to Coca Cola and this med also helped me kick that habit because I lost my taste for the carbonation.

Does anyone know if the weight loss usually evens out after about a year or a year and a half? I need to lose about 30 more pounds and was hoping that I would continue losing weight!

Anyway, I was on the Topamax for headaches and it has completely helped that! It has truly been a God-send for me. Other than monthly hormone headaches, I don't get migraines hardly at all!

I am wondering about having my doc up my dosage for the weight loss aspect????

I have been on Advair for four months with good results concerning my asthma. Although my complaint seems rather insignificant compared to those I have been reading, I do have a side effect that is becoming increasingly difficult to deal with. My food tastes terrible. Most of it tastes horribly bitter. I have lost weight because I cannot tolerate the horrible taste. Many good meals have ended up in the garbage. I mentioned the bad taste to my doctor after being on Advair for one month. He felt it would diminish with time, however it is increasingly worse. I also have had terrible cramps in my feet, which, from the posts, I'm assuming is also related to the Advair. If anyone has had severe taste issues with this drug, I would love to hear from you. I am also wondering if this will improve if I go off the drug.

I have been on Levaquin for 3 days now for a UTI and kidney stones... the only dfference I seem to notice is a horrible taste in my mouth that just will not go away no matter what I do....I could brush my teeth and tongue all day and man it just doesn't quit! Is this a side effect anyone has and/or is it an effect by other antibiotics as well? Thanks! -C.

I'm currently taking this drug for Migraines. I had a question though, nobody's been able to answer this. Why is this drug a narcotic? It does nothing for me. The big pink pills are disgusting too, they leave a horrible taste.

also, the only thing that i have gotten from these pills is cotton mouth!
