1. Blood Pressure 180/120 resulting in an emergency room trip
2. Weight gain of 25 POUNDS! Most/all of which was water and came off within the first week of being off from Yasmin.
3. Bloating and extreme water retention. See # 2.
4. Severe leg muscle cramping and foot pain
5. A mental feeling of not caring and general fogginess
6. Complete loss of libido
7. Acid reflux (probably from the diuretic in Yasmin)
8. General weakness in my muscles (there were times that I could barely open a revolving door).

I was on Yasmin for a year. I have been off for one month. I am still on blood pressure meds, but they don't think the Yasmin is out of my system. Has anyone else gotten hypertension from Yasmin and if so, how long did you have to be on blood pressure meds?

Some of my symptoms are getting better after a month, and some are not. If anyone is reading this to decide whether or not to take Yasmin, please don't. You may not have any symptoms right away and you may think you feel great, but that is the scariest part. When symptoms come on gradually, you hardly notice them until you are in the hospital emergency room.

I posted last week. My 16 year old has been taking singular for 4.5 years and has been off singulair 8 days now. She was given Fluoxetine by her Psychiatrist 2 years after starting singulair. This did not help her. Her grades had droped, she was depressed all the time, missing school because of stomach pains and headach (she had to be taken to the emergency room and given medicine for this and for anxiety attacks), She had tremors of the hands and feet, so,so sad all the time. Never smiled. It was nothing we talked about to family and friends (just her Doctor, Psychiatrist, and Hospital emergency room). She even started cutting her legs with razors. 3 days off of singulair she came into the livinging room and watched a movie with us. Her little sister said that sissy is getting nicer. I have not mentioned the singulair to her litter sister. 5 days off she came and sat with me in my oversized chair and showed me a very colorful purse (not dark) that she would like to order (which I did). She has not sat beside me in four years or allowed me to touch her willingly for almost that amount of time. She has eaten diner with us the past 5 days and smiles sometimes. I love her so much and am wondering if her life path has been forever altered by this medication or will she be able to recover from all this . TKU

I've been diagnosed with anxiety and panic attacks since Nov. 15 2007 ended at the hospital emergency room, after using Xopenex been using Advair and Singulair due to my asthma once my Doctor increased my Advair from 250mg to 500mg twice a day on Sept. 5th 2007 noticed fast palpitations and overwhelming. Knew and complained for quite sometime that I wasn't feeling like myself. Since Nov. 26th 2007 I stopped taking Advair, Albuterol inhalers,Nebulizers due to the fact of my new Anxieties that I never had. Continued taking my Singulair medication thinking that it was safe. Only been on Singulair a little over a year. Still continued to experience Anxiety and Panic attacks. Due to this I've been seeing a therapist since Dec. of 07.Has affected myself, my children who have witnessed my episodes of Anxiety attacks and know thats not me.Also has affected my performance at my job and attendance. Just took two MRI's of the brain just last week thinking there maybe something wrong with my brain. My side affects have been Dizzy spells, feeling faint, blurry vision, extremely tired, muscle spasms, loss of concentration, and not being focused. These are my experiences with Singulair and I believe that the FDA should further investigate these allegations. I know for a fact I've been experiencing this for quite sometime and my Doctors tell me I'm just depressed. Ignoring the fact they prescribed me so many medications that trigger Anxiety depression and God knows what. Thank you Cita

I was on Altace even though I am allergic to grey-paper-nest-building brown wasp stings and had read a side effect of people undergoing allergy therapy for this having heightened sensitivity or reactions when being on Altace. For this reason, I had requested an Epipen from my doctor. I work at a municipal golf course and went to another municipal golf course to pick up a backhoe. There was a nest in the corner of the cab. I was stung and the Epipen was back at the other course in my locker. I immediately took three Benadryl (which I carry in a key-chain container) and told a coworker to take me to the nearby hospital emergency room which was a total of ten to possibly fifteen minutes away. I didn't feel bad after the sting, which wasn't a very bad sting, but my feet tingled immediately and I felt that was not good. We took off and I wrote down my medications for my driver and passed out. An iv was started immediately and I was semiconscious but heard that my blood pressure was 54 / 36. My pulse was very slow but I remember not what it was. I had lower abdominal cramps and was vomiting. I was asked if I was diabetic, as sweat was pouring off me. I was given saline and a steroid (iv) which starts with d (and prednisone prescription to follow it up) and epinephrine subcutaneously (the same dose, .3mg, that is in the Epipen. I was kept three hours and released with the instructions that if I felt any weakness coming on later that evening to call 911 and return. Other episodes of wasp stings had produced hives on the chest and back, a return of swelling at the sting site at four hour intervals (even days later), when it was time for Benadryl again. Also, the most serious prior stings produced underarm itching, then progression to groin area itching and finally the feet itching and tingling, then when this subsided the itching was over except as to the sting site. Possibly I reasoned that if the sting caused my feet to be involved immediately, it would be bad. Emergency department personnel asked if I was alergic to other bees or wasps, but I have not been stung by any other than these wasps since I was a teenager. The only exception being a large number of stings from the small soda can swarming wasps which people call bees. This gave me a feeling such that I quit working where they were as I could feel an effect was accumulating. I cannot really describe the sensation. Did you know that Epipens are to be stored between 59 and 77 degrees fahrenheit with excursions allowed to 86 degrees? They are not to be refrigerated. I carry one on my person now in a cheap K-mart insulated bag. Inside this I have a cheap stainless thermos into which the Epipen fits. In the recent 100 degree weather I put one aboutr 3 X 5 inch X 1 1/2 inch thick frozen blue gel (ice replacement which people use in lunch boxes, etc.) in the bag to keep the interior cool or cold. This takes a fresh one about every four hours and is my personal solution to the delimna of room temperature and high temperatures and keeping the Epipen with me. When a person has such a harsh reaction, it is my understanding that the next one can be expected to be as bad or worse. I am off Altace but on Lisinopril which is also an Ace inhibitor and which I may get off when I return to my regular physcian. This sting occured Aug 2, 2007. Hope this information helps prevent someone from going through a life-threatening experience as I did.

my name is danielle. i am 29 and have had asthma all of my life, properly diagnosed by age two. i have been on many medications, and advair seems to be the only one that works for me. i use 100/50 once a day, because it does keep me up at night, and i already have troble getting to sleep. however, i do have side effects that until now i have disregarded, but upon reading this website, i feel that i am no longer alone, and that some of these side effects are not a part of life, but a part of the advair.
metal side effects:
irritabilty
aggresion
mood swings
depression
hard to concentrate
short fuse
stress
and the above mentioned insomnia

over the years i have been on many different steroids for my asthma, and the docs always said that that amount wouldn't
have side effects, and sent me to shrinks to be medicated. currently i have no insurance and am not taking anything besides advair and albuterol as needed.

physical side effects:
sore/scratchy throat
always have to clear throat before talking
hoarseness
sores on tounge
dry throat, mouth and nose
deeper voice
dental problems
a lot of these may be my fault because i never rinse my mouth after wards.

more side effects:
abdominal weight gain-no matter what i do
gas a lot!
constipation
blurry vision-i now need glasses
floaters
acne on face only ( i'm 29) and not only at that time of the month
dizzy spells on ocaasion (just last night in fact)
muscle cramps in upper back, shoulders and neck
chest pain/lung cramps-sometimes i think i am gonna have a heart attack, but then the pain goes away
i do notice an increased heart rate after taking advair. i had to give up caffeine so as not to make it worse.

i don't know if these side effects are due to the steriod or the serevent, which i read here is now being investigated. i am not sure what to do at this point. without medcation, i am sure to end up in the hospital emergency room. i have been on advair for going on three years. i am ready for a change. i tried not taking it today and my chest became tight. i had to give in. i know i should not wean myself off it anyway. i will make an appt. with a doc once i gather some research. what have other people done?? i am willing to try anything at this point. my email is ****** thanks for listening. i feel better already.

My Doctor gave me Advair 100 on a routine checkup. He sent me to E&T for snoring, this guy gave me Singulair. First dose sent me to hospital emergency room because I could not breathe. I stopped taking Advair, Singulair. My Stomach is bloated after eating. I went to a G.I, he wants to to endoscopy. I didn't have any problems before I went for routine checkup. My blood test, X-ray, Sonogram are all normal. I do not have any problems except bloated stomach. Is there a way to reverse effects of Advair ??

My Ophthalmologist used Neosynephrine to dilate my eyes. I experienced irregular rapid heartbeat which continued for hours. After 8 hours, I then went to the hospital emergency room and was released about 3 hours later. I left with a slight irregular heart beat after taking beta blockers while being monitored.
