I am a male in my 30s and I am predisposed to situational anxiety hypersensitivity and phase of life triggered depression. 90% of the year I am fine with no problems with depression or anxiety. I have had 6 treatments of amoxicillin over the last 2 years for sinus infections and wisdom tooth extractions. In each case, within 72 hours of the start of treatment, I experience constant depressed mood and hopeless and experience evening crying spells as a release from severe depression all day. In all 6 cases, within 48 hours of the last dose of amoxicillin, the depression subsides and my mood reaches a normal state. My doctor at the time did not attribute the depression to the antibiotic since I suspect it isn't listed in his PDR and did not show up with statistical significance in clinical trials. I don't go to that doctor any longer due to this and have a new doctor that has 20 years of experience and noted a lot of anecdotal evidence of amoxicillin triggering depression in those that might be predisposed to situational anxiety, panic attacks and/or stress/phase of life induced depression.

Like many of the other stories my daughter was a happy healthy 14 year old high school freshman prior to receiving the Gardasil vaccine. Now she is chronically ill suffering from pancreatitis, gastrointestinal disorders including extreme nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, headaches, blurred vision, pain, fatigue, hypersensitivity to light and sound, and has had pneumonia twice. We have recently spent 8 weeks in two different hospitals to return home with still no answers as to how to end this nightmare. She has a central line so that we can give her IV nutrition TPN and Lipids, is on 5 nausea medicines and 1 pain medicine every 6 hours round the clock just to keep her comfortable. We are going to take her to Mayo's with the hope they can help us, I refuse to accept the fact that this is what her life has become and that our only option is to treat the symptoms. The doctors so far are completely clueless without it being in black and white on a piece of paper from a test result they seem to dismiss you with out any compassion at all, I wonder if they would have that same additude if this was their daughter. If anyone out there has found any kind of help please let me know. I can't believe Merck is still being allowed to poison our young girls while the FDA looks the other way!

I just visited Merck's Singulair website and spent a long time really, really thinking about everything that they had for physicians. After thinking about the pathways for myself from the standpoint of chemical interactions, I wanted to know what was explained to the physician. I approached the site from the standpoint of -- if one of my patients was overdosing, how could I recognize that. What would happen? Merck's site has diagrams and movies on the nasal passages and the lungs. You get a picture of a mast cell producing-- doing it's thing. That was it. And on every page, this...

SINGULAIR is indicated for relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 2 years and older and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 6 months and older).

In clinical trials, SINGULAIR was generally well tolerated, with a safety profile similar to that of placebo. Adverse events varied by age. The most commonly reported adverse events, occurring at a frequency of ≥1% and at an incidence greater than placebo, regardless of causality assessment, were sinusitis, upper respiratory infection, sinus headache, cough, epistaxis, headache, otitis media, pharyngitis, and increased ALT.

SINGULAIR is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of this product.

Okay, let's talk about headache at greater than 1%. Headache is 18-19%. How do I know that from what they put on their website?

It might be a very good question to ask your doctor if they could go to the Singulair website and be able to know what would happen if they had a group of children or adults that liked to take pills. Yum, one of good, more is better. I had no clue from that website if there was a risk of overdose or not.

This is not my area. I am trying to help. I am essentially as in the dark as you are.

Where do I begin??? I have been taking Yaz for six months. Migraines! The worst migraines ever, I cannot function for one full day and sometimes more, the pain was so intolerable.

Hives! For the past two months, I keep thinking that I had a food allergy; even my doctor diagnosed it as that. After going to the allergist, I was told that I have developed an allergy to the Yasmin pill. No part of my body has been discriminated with this medication. Hives from the top of my head, in my eyes, right down to the bottom of my feet! This has been the worst experience of my life with this pill.

Fatigue to the extreme! I fall asleep sitting up and never feel rested. Yaz has caused me to go up two cup sizes so far, I went from being a 38C to a 40DD and I can't fit into anything. My boobs are sore a lot.

Weight gain, at least 20 pounds heavier. Nausea; Indigestion; Diarrhea & Constipation; Decreased Sex Drive; and Mood swings; Uncontrollable Rages; Severe body aches; Hot Flashes/Chills; Crying Spells; Blurred Vision; Lack of Concentration; Trouble sleeping; Dizziness; Shaking; Restlessness mainly after 9pm when I should be winding down to go to bed; Terrible night sweats; Never ending cravings for junk food; Inability to cope with stressful situations; Feeling of being inadequate; Can’t concentrate; Gassy; Hate family & partners; Irrational.

I've been on topamax for 3 1/2 months & was on 25 mg & then was pushed up to 100 mg when I started to have more severe migraines & "seizing" in my arms & legs. Here are a list of my symptoms: increased sleepiness, gait problems, word recall, more difficulty w/dysgraphia, increased ADD problems, increased lability, increased hypersensitivity to stimuli (seizing in limbs increased), pins & needles, metallic taste in mouth, asthma worsened, sleep became more disrupted, lost weight (already skinny), increased facial hair, strange menstrual symptoms, basilar migraines worsened, hemiplegic migraines started occuring at increased rate, suspicious that it may cause or excacerbate pre-existing sleep apnea (haven't been evaluated yet), feel like a stroke patient, weakness on right side of body, can't drink soda, increased impulsiveness, confusion, increased speech problems, increased GERD...this has really messed me up.

you really should be careful giving this to patients who may have a sleep disorder, previous head injury or breathing issues...Is this safe for people w/ asthma, sleep apnea, cerebral palsy, sleep disorders, etc.? Will these side affects wear off or is permanent?

I have nothing to thank Topamax for.

Hi

I have been taking Yasmin for 10 days - after 7 days I started getting headaches which I very rarely get normally - and one day a severe headache. I also started getting allergy-like symptoms - constant sneezing and itchy eyes. Apparently one of the side-effects of yasmin is hypersensitivity - in any case nothing else has changed in my environment, diet, lifestyle.

Although these symptoms may disappear - given all the messages I have read I have decided to stop taking Yasmin - even if the symptoms arent so bad now I could be storing up trouble.

Yasmin was effective in stopping the bloating and constant hunger I had on my previous pill - but I think the potential risks outweigh this benefit. Like other people I have looked on the net for complaints about other pills and found almost none. It seems like this is a new product which is being aggressively marketed (like all new drugs - nothing different there), playing on women's insecurities about weight-gain and skin problems and which has not been properly tested. I was recommended this pill in South America...... so this is not just Europe or N America. Apparently the manufacturers have been doing very well.
