I too had a Kenalog-40 shot in my glute January 2007, for hair loss related to Yasmin. I developed a large, indentation with pigment changes, as I am African American. I cured my own dent after my dermatologist and a few specialists at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where I work, told me there was nothing they could do to help me. I took chlorophyll supplements for 30 days and the dent disappeared. I used Nature's Way chlorophyll and apparently this stuff removes drug deposits from the body and fully cleared up the dent. I had been taking lisinopril for 5 or 6 months along with another medication. The other medication I had been on for years and had not had significant problems with. However, I noticed that shortly after beginning on this med not only was my hair completely dried out and falling out, but I was constantly suffering from sun burn on my face and neck. This was new to me because I am african american and have never had sun burn before in my life. I also felt agitated, listless and fatigued. I am frustrated that what was supposed to help me actually made my over all health condition worse.

I received Kenalog injections for alopecia. An associate in my dermatologist office thought it would be a good idea to increase the dosage so that i would get better results. Oh I forgot to mention the fact that I had hair all over my scalp. I just had some areas where the hair was thinner than other. However, I had no bald areas. Well that is until I was injected with a larger dose of Kenalog. I now have a dime size bald area in my scalp. The area is also hypopigmented as well. I mean white in color. Oh did I mention the fact that I am african american. So you can imagenine what it looks like. It has been 3 months. I still don't have hair the area and the area continues to be depigmented. I have consulted an attorney.

Kenalog injection is the best thing that ever happened to me. I have suffered with Keloids since the age of 11, huge ugly one along my jaw bone which protruded about an inch. It was HORRID. i have had 3 operations and I followed up consistently with Kenalog injections monthly after the 3rd surgery ( about 2 years ago) You should see me now-beautiful!!!. The area is discolored -who cares and I am African American. Every now and then a hair grows out of it, so I pluck it-big deal!! Well now I go as needed and we are talking about an incision at least 4 inches long.
I am sorry for the side effects people have experienced but there are always 2 sides to a story. :)
