I have been on the NuvaRing for 3 months now, today is the end of my 3rd week so I have taken it out. Thank God for it being my 3rd week!! I thought that I was pregnant for about 2 weeks until I decided to look into the NR side effects, I am so grateful for this website!!! Thanks to all the ladies who posted their experiences and sorry for the crazy side effects... I have been experiencing severe back pains, chest discomfort, headaches all the time, AND MAJOR MOOD SWINGS (CRYING, DEPRESSION, FEELING TIRED ALL THE TIME (LIKE NOW)), blurred vision, nausea, and stomach pains in my side.. If any ladies have went to the doctor for this and found a better birth control, other than the pill or the shot, I would love to know what you decided to do, and if your sypthoms went away when your period came on? Thanks

Hi Guest 20077,
I can relate to all that you had to say in your earlier post, except I had a tremendous amount of weight gain. I went in for an appendecitis and they found ovarian cysts and adrenal cysts and Yasmin was supposed to be the miracle drug to help me. I went through Dr. after Dr. as well as counseling and when I just cried in front of her and couldn't talk I ended up in a Psychiatrists office. I'm a Psychology student myself and can't be a Psychologist if I feel like I'm crazy and have my own life out of control so I would much rather suffer through the pain. Btw: I've had these terrible cramps since I first started having periods, have been in the emergency room becuase I couldn't get off of the floor out of the fetal position as they were so bad and had to be carried to the ER, and have missed tremendous amounts of work over the years because of it, but I would rather go back through that then what has been going on. I have been awful to my boyfriend over the past 8 months and although he has wanted to give up because of it a few times, he understood what was going on and has stuck by me which I am so grateful for. I also have 3 children and they have had to deal with a mom who has been moody/depressed, sick all of the time, just awful and they deserve so much more. We all have medical issues of some sort but I believe that the major medical problems that I have currently are due to this drug as every test that every family dr., gyn, and endo has ran has been normal... it has literally taken over my life. I have quit this week and am hoping for the best. So far, I am starting to feel a little better. I have begun to sleep much better. Although I'm staying up later, I'm also sleeping in later in the mornings and my sleep is finally restful and complete which is really interesting because that is a problem that I didn't even realize I had until I stopped taking it and reading these posts and thinking about it. I wish you and everyone else the best of luck.

I have posted my side effects earlier, but I have a question, someone mention leg pain, but what about severe spasms in the legs? I have had bad ones at night and when I stopped the Yasmin last Thursday, they don't seem to be as bad, as have dizzy spells and nausea.
I am so grateful for this site.

First I would like to thank to all girls for their postings here. I am so grateful for finding this site so soon after I started taking Yasmin.
Actually, I started taking Yasmin 2 days ago, and the reason to look in the net for its side effects was my last night experience. I woke up in the middle of the night, with my heart trying to go out of my chest, feeling enourmously scared and panicked without a reason, being unable to control my body and thoughts. I have spent the next few hours thinking that I was going to die, or get insane. Also I was feeling very dizzy and had nausea.
Today, I still feel as if I have been heavily intoxicated with a bad drug (haven't tryed any drugs before, but I imagine it feels like that).
I have never experienced anything like this before - I am very positive and outgoing person and my life is deffinitelly very happy at the moment and not stressed, so there is no other reason for the horrible night I've had but this pill - Yasmin.
The package is already in the wastebin, and I am considering myself happy for finding out so soon about the terrible side effects of this pill.
Once again - thank you girls for sharing your experiences. Wish you good luck with getting your lives back to normal.
As for me - I have appointed my bf to be my new BCP - I am sure that he can do this better than any chemicals.
All the best,
Nina

I was prescribed this drug for a UTI. Today is my last day on it and I am so grateful. Not only have I been depressed and had trouble sleeping, I have been peeing every five minutes. It's maddening. In the future I will choose the 7 day drug and not this stuff.

I too was having many of the same things other women listed here. I thought I was losing my mind and had physical sympotms as well (night swaets, hot flashes and migrains). Just the other day I searched and what a relief to find this site. Now I know I am not alone in this and that it was the pill. I had wondered if it was but my doctor also said it was unlikely to be the cause. Yuck. I was 3 days into a new pack whan I found this site. I stopped them that day. I have been on Yasmin for a year. I hope it does not take too long to leave my system, but I feel better just knowing that this was the cause of all these things. I am so grateful for finding this site.

I am so grateful to have found this website. Thanks a bunch to my therapist. I have been suffering severe anxiety/depression, irritability, fatigue, heart accelerations, severe sweating at night, shakes in the morning, and nausea. Just to name a few side effects. Why did I have to come across this pill? It has made the last 2 years of my life miserable. I thought I was crazy but after reading about other people and their problems I am realizing that I am not. Thank you to all those women out there for posting your side effects. For those of you who are thinking of trying this pill, don't. I now realize that I have months of detoxing to get this out of my system.

I have sat here for almost 2 hours reading about all the horrible side effects from Lisinopril, much of the time with tears rolling down my cheeks. I am a 47-year old woman who was prescribed this drug about 5 months ago. My Dr. told me that the most common side effect was a dry cough. Shortly after, I did develop a cough, but was certain it was due to allergies (although my friends with allergies weren't coughing their lungs out). Like another person in this forum, I began obsessing about what could be causing the cough. I changed my sheets more often, began vacuuming more. I even considered purchasing a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze air purifier. I also tend to be a worrier, and over the past couple of weeks, I have thought of my dad, who died of lung cancer 2 years ago. Could I have it too, even though I never smoked? I have also noticed a feeling of significant sadness. I attributed that to grieving my youngest son getting ready to go off to college. Now I'm not so sure. I seem to cry at the drop of a hat.
I am so grateful I searched the web for "Lisinopril and coughing". Your comments have helped me to feel a little less anxious about the really scary thoughts I've been having, and have encouraged me to call my Dr. and have my meds changed. I have to admit that the drug did lower my blood pressure, but it's not worth it! I'm exhausted by lack of sleep! I also plan on buying my own bp monitor, because when I go to the Dr.'s, I always have "white coat" syndrome, and my bp reads high. After I sit for a minute, and my exam is done, they take it again, and it has lowered.
Good luck to all of you, and again, thanks for all your wisdom!

OMG...I have been on Advair for 5 years and I am awed at your posts. I have been blaming most of my symptoms and weight gain on my weight. I knew that I was having the hoarseness and continuous sinus drip, but I did not realize it was from the Advair. I just thought my allergies were getting worse. I feel so stupid.
I have the thinning of the skin and bruising. A simple touch of my arms and the skin peels and bleeds. I have read and re-read these posts and the symptoms all of you have I have and have had doctors tell me, they have no idea what is causing the symptoms. What an eye-opener. Thank you.
I am so grateful that I have discovered this site. I have been off Advair for the past two weeks, just b/c I needed a refill RX, and couldn't get in to see my doctor, but I am a little concerned now, that I hear I should have weaned myself gently off. Guess it is too late now.
Best of luck to all of you and I will keep checking back for future help.

I have just been reading the list of, what I am considering to be "possible", side effects from Dilantin . Doesn't everyone, whether on Dilantin or no drugs at all experience headaches, nausea, stomach pains or depression from time to time?
-- By solideverywhere | Reply | (3) replies | Private Message meAfter being on this medication for over 30 years there are some things which I've experienced. Just about everyone complains of hyperplasia but it has been my experience that if I maintain a clean healthy mouth, there is no hyperplasia. If, for one day, I do not brush my teeth, hyperplasia sets in immediately & it then takes a week or so to get it under control. So, brush, brush & brush your teeth.
As far as memory loss or difficulty learning, I suppose it happens to everyone at one time or another. However I have graduared from high school with honours & became a registered nurse (top 5 in my class of 56) all while I was on Dilantin.
The only true adverse side effect from taking Dilantin for over 30 years which I experience is that whenever I am tired, my speech can easily slur. I am very aware of this & it's become habit to pay close attention to my pronounciation & correct it so I may articulate normally. Not a big deal & a very small price to pay.
I'm not one for pity trips or blaming my seizures or medications for my downfalls in life. I am so grateful to have my seizures under control & hate to think where I would be today if not for Dilatin. Remember, if you look for it , you will likely find it. So try not to look for all these adverse side effects (crutches)& see the benifits. We have enough to handle keeping this under control & educating the sometimes ignorant world.
I took control of the epilepsy that attacked my system. I would never allow it to control me. Good luck to all of you. Sincerely :)
