I went to the doctor and she gave me a prescription for an antibiotic which was $150.00 which I said no way. I went home and phoned her and she said she had samples of a different one in her office I could pick-up. It had no information on the drug and I am on my third day of taking it. It is 750 mg and I am about 118 lbs. My cough is better, but I feel strange. Earlier today, all of a sudden, I felt achy all over like I had a fever again, very tired, and a headache but could not sleep when I came home. I was thinking maybe I am over doing it after just getting over being so sick, but now after reading this I think I know why I feel this way. So far, I have not had any sharp pains in my legs, but am also on meds for pain which make me worry about how Levaquin might interact. My head is in a fog and I just woke up after falling a sleep for about 20 minutes with my heart racing, ears ringing and bad dreams. I can not go back to sleep and found this web-site which I am glad and will not take anymore LEVAQUIN! When I took the first pill it was on an empty stomach and felt nauseus because I had not been eating because of my sickness. I still don't have much of an appetite. I have 2 kids I have to take care of, a house, a hubbby, a part-time serving job and need my strength and SLEEP! I was at work yesterday and found that I could not get my words out right etc. again, I thought it might be from just getting over being sick, but now I know why and will call my doctor first thing Monday and let her know.

I received a Kenalog injection in December '06 to provide relief from an allergic reaction. My doctor did NOT inform me of any possible side effects other than drowsiness. Two months later a small dipple formed where the shot was given. I had no idea what it was and just assumed it was a part of getting older (I'm 30). When it began to get deeper, I became extremely worried. It has now been 6 months and the dimple has turned into a very large indentation. I still did not put two and two together and did not think it could have been caused by the steroid injuection. I visited my doctor, the same one who administered the shot in December, to find out what this could possibly be. He said he had no idea!! And even suggested it could be cancer!!!! I came home upset, obviously, thinking I was very sick, possibly even dying!! My sister did some research and found this site, and I am so relieved. But now I am angry at my doctor for not warning me of this possible side effect at the time of the shot AND then diagnosing it as a possible cancer!!! So now I am left with this deformity on my butt and a profound feeling of helplessness. Someone please tell me actions you have taken that have worked, both legally and physically. Will this go away?!?

Hi Everyone,
I have been taking Topamax 25 mg for 1 week. I can't stand it. Today I am to up my dosage to 50 mg.I am not sure if I want to do that. The side effects suck.. I think I would rather just deal with my migraines, at least I know how to do that since I have had them for over 25 years. I have tried everything and nothing has worked so the Dr. and I thought we would give this a try.
I am trying to keep my place of employment happy with trying to cut down on the migraines but nothing works.
Most days I just want to give up.
Hopefully we will be able to figure something out.
I can't stand the pickhands and feet, the stumbling like I am drunk( and I dont' drink) nothing tastes right anymore, I have the shakes and I ache.
And all it does is makes me sleepy and like I am in another world.
I went to work today and made it half an hour before I came home because I stumbled and almost fell over. And when the boss talked to me it was like I wasn't there. So I came home. I don't know but I don't like it at all.

Been taking this for about 18 months. I have experienced dizziness, facial numbness, elevated liver enzymes, chest pain, and chronic cough. Been to the docotor several times and have had multiple tests run. Finally fed up, I switched doctors. This was the first time Lisinopril was even mentioned as a possible cause even though she is doubtful. I came home and immediately searched the internet to find this forum. So glad I did!

Had a cortisone shot in my foot(sesamoids) and I came home with a BIG puffy, swollen aching foot in the sesamoid area and toes. Had that for at least a week. And also a red colored circle (not just a ring but an entire circle) around where the injection took place on the top of my foot. Someone told me it looked like it had burned my skin. After 3 weeks it is still there but the circle is peeling a little. Was flushed and tired. Felt "not right."
Also, the dr. told me not to hyperextend or my bones may break...Greeaaat...
I am considering just dealing with the pain. The pain of the shot was enough to make me not want to do it again (that plus the stupid circle).
Anyone have a circle? I am dying to know what it is.

I have just been discharged from the hospital. I have Diabetes and Asthma. I started taking Singulair in Nov/05. For the first 5 months I was ok-no side effects. Starting in April of 06 I started feeling lethargic, mood swings, gained some weight, it eventually progressed to where I didn't want to do anything around my house, I found it hard to get up in the morning and I felt the most tired in the morning. In the last month, I have had to stop every time I went up or down the stairs and I was out of breath and becoming dizzy. I left work early on on dec 4th/06 as for the last month or so I was not feeling well at all......nausea feeling every morning. So I came home and took a nap thinking I had the flu. I started a couple hours later throwing up, getting sweaty, felt like I was going to pass out. My family called 911 and when I got to the hospital my blood pressure was 60/40. I had to have a central line in my neck, I was given steroids and antibiotics. I was dehydrated. I have had a terrrible time this week. Anyone who has had any similar side effects please stop using this drug. Are there any other people out there that have Diabetes that have felt this way?

I had a Kenalog shot for poison ivy..my Dr. never told me what I was getting or the side effects...it worked wonders for the poison ivy, but 2 weeks later on day 20 of my cycle I started spotting...and turned into lots more..I ended up going to my OBGYN and fortunately I took my bill of $110 along in to show her what I had been injected with. As soon as she saw Kenalog..she said that's what is doing all this ..I came home and found this website and I was shocked to see how similar my story is to many of these..I never would have taken this had I known the side effects..I am now still bleeding heavily after 18 days..will it never end? What have you done for relief? I feel sluggish all the time..no energy...and I have 4 children 12 and under to see after! Please if someone can help me...email me at ******. Thanks

I went to a neuro specialist for migraines today and within two minutes he was handing me a sample of Topamx -- without taking any history or listening to what I was saying. And he is a prominent "leader" in his field in Newport Beach, California. I can't believe it. He wanted to hospitalize me for three days and start me on Topamax tonight. I asked him the side effects and he told me only weight loss (I'm 5'6, 115 pounds!), fatigue (I have a weakened immune system already) and kidney stones (I'm a Libra -- and while that sounds funny, that sign rules the kidneys!). He also said I might search for words and chose the wrong ones. Well, I'm a published journalist. Great! What an Idiot. I asked him how long I would have to take it and he said about two years! My husband threw out the pills when I came home and told him the story... and now reading your postings I want to warn those of you our there to be sure that you really need this medication if you are taking it for only for migraines. I'd rather spend a day sick in bed a few days a week that have all of these horrific symptoms appear. Thanks for letting me share and good heath wishes to all of us.

I have been complaining to my Doctor about prolonged coughing that has lasted over 8 months. The cough is so bad that it causes me to vomit periodically. I was put on two different antibiotics told that I may have whooping cough and the only thing that helped the cough was tussinex cough medicine that was very expensive. Whooping cough was ruled out by health department. I told the doctor I could not keep taking the cough medicine so he tried another cough medicine that did not help. A friend told me yesterday that he knew a friend that had a similar cough caused by his blood pressure medicine so I came home and started researching the net and found this site that has really opened my eyes. I called my doctor but he has not returned my call yet. After reading this information I may have had another side effect of this medication Lisinopril of which I felt like I was going to pass out sitting at my computer one day. I hope that I find out the cough was caused by this medicine because it has literally wore me out coughing so much. I have pulled abdomen muscles from coughing so hard and told the doctor but he has never mentioned it could be related to Lisinopril.

I am 43 years old and I have been taking Yasmin for 4 months to regulate an irregular period. Two weeks ago I went to the Dr. becuase it felt like someone was sitting on my chest and I couldn't get a good breath of air. My Dr. decided my symptons didn't add up and sent me to the ER. There they found after a blood test that my blood was clotting. They did a MRI immediately and found two very large clots in my lungs as well as numerous clots throughout my lungs (multiple pulminay emboli). I was rushed from the military hospital to a downtown ICU who then rushed me to a teaching hospital because my condition was so severe. After 4 days I went home and I am now on Coumadin to thin my blood. Tests are being run to determine where the clots are coming from. No clots were found in my legs; it appears the clots are acute and out of nowhere filled my lungs. I am out of breath most of the time and get tired easily. A week prior to noticing my chest heaviness I had severe stomach pains. The day I came home from the hospital I threw away my Yasmin. The Dr.'s are unclear if Yasmin is the cause, I do not have a history of clots in my family. I have been told if no other tests can determine what caused the clots, then they will assume Yasmin was the cause. I know have to worry about paralysis, stroke, etc..

I am so thankful that I found this website! My 9 year old daughter has been taking Singulair for 2 1/2 months now. At first we were so relieved that she was hardly ever having to use her inhaler for asthma and thought this medicaton was a God sent blessing. Previous to taking Singulair she was a bit spoiled, but much easier to control and I don't recall her having an 'outburst' of anger before the medication. She is normally a very outgoing, likeable child. As of lately however she yells, throws things, cries, hates everyone most of the time (lately even says she hates herself), is scared to death to go ANYWHERE with just me and her without any apparent reason and just acts miserable. My husband and I finally broke down this week and admitted there was without a doubt a change that had to be taken in her attitude. We went to the therapist for an evaluation and a referral to a child physiologist. We are just getting more and more afraid that there is truly a problem that isn't going away. We just couldn't seem to get her under control no matter what we did. We took things away, spanked her, put her in time out and grounded her. Nothing worked. She has been totally unemotional when it comes to punishment. We had convinced ourselves she was a spoiled brat and didn't know where to begin in unspoiling her. When, discussing her behavior we let them know it started getting A LOT worse 2 1/2 months or so ago. Later in the interview, they asked what medications she was on and how long she had been taking them. It was then that it clicked that it was about the same time. I came home and started researching Singulair, since obviously they don't disclose this at this time. I am shocked at the number of people reporting the same side effects, greatful to have this website and hopeful this is our main problem. Today is Monday and she has not taken it since Friday, so it's just been a few days. She has had a couple of instances of 'brattiness', but hasn't had an explosive fit, throwing things, yelling, etc. since Thursday night. I'll keep a close eye on things and re-post once I see how she does. Usually her fits are every day or every other day. She even called me at work today to complain her dad wasn't being fair and wasn't yelling like she has been. I was off of the phone with her within 2-3 minutes and haven't heard from her again. This is VERY unusual for her as of the last couple of months, so maybe we're on the road to recovery!

well this is the second time for unknown reasons I get an allergy attack in one eye that swells it shut. Antihistamines don't make it go away so they put me on a course of prednisone and send me on my way even though I have told them it gives me violent tendencies. I am not an angry person by nature, but the last two times I have been put on a course of prednisone I fly into rages at the slightest provocation. I practice meditation and stuff routinely, so I know a lot about mind control etc. so it's not like i can just take a breath and count to ten. I can't afford to go on vacation by myself every time I have to take a course of this stuff ;) LoL. I think my doctor thinks I'm whining, but I can't seem to convey this message that I really probably should not take prednisone. They insist all the steroids are the same and therefor prescribing a different one would not help.
Yesterday, I had another attack and had to go back and get more prednisone, this time I think my pharmacy may have screwed up because the highest dosage I was every given before was 60 mg a day then taper down for 2 weeks.... Yesterday the doctor decides that perhaps a short "burst" of pred would be better for my side effects to get it over with faster.
I came home with larger pills than I normally take. the bottle said to take 3 pills twice a day for one day then 3 then 2 then 1 for a total of 12 pills. I took 6 yesterday as directed and woke up with profuse night sweats and the shakes. When I got up this morning, I looked a little closer and each of those pills were 20mg a piece for a total of 120 Mg in ONE day... I am still sweating and shaky, and for all that my eye is still swollen ;) lol.
At least I can open it today though, so some good news. I am wondering now on hindsight did she mean 3 pills a day for two days then 3 then 2 then 1... it would still add up to twelve. I trusted what the pill bottle said and now I am paying for it. I wonder if I can take myself off this stuff, and if anyone else has had violent reactions (ie throwing things and crying) or Night Sweats that go on and on....
It takes a build up of it in my system usually before the tantrums occur, but with that high of a megadose yesterday I am a little afraid of taking it again. I am really getting frustrated by this whole process, and my doctor says an allergist would be turned down flat by my insurance because they haven't "tried everythign" yet... sheesh how much do I have to go through before my 'insurance' declares it worthy of a specialist.
It's very aggravating to me because I think an allergist could help me narrow down the cause fo these attacks and maybe know why it only attacks one eye... why do Insurance companies have the right to take away a doctors discretion? I am fed up with the establishment at this point.

I began taking the Japanese version of Norvasc because nothing else was available where I was (in Japan). When I came home after 5 years, my doctor switched me to lisinopril 10 mg,then 20 mg and finally 40 mg. My BP is under control now at an average of 130/70.
My side effects are itchy eyes (chronic), occasional chest pain (like a hammer from the inside, scary), inability to lose weight (not a big issue) , a probable small stomach ulcer but no acid reflux etc (I do not eat beef or many saturated fatty foods).
A possible key to resolving some of the stomach problems may be in diet control. Alcohol and sugar should be off the menu entirely ( it has helped ne immensely). Also, plenty of fresh fruit, almonds and walnuts, edamame (japanese soybeans found in the frozen food section) as a snack, and don't cook your vegetables to death (steam or lightly saute them). In addition, eat mushrooms. I eat a lot of shiitake, enoki and sometimes maitake mushrooms, which seems to have made a difference.
Anyway balance and moderation in food intake are key, and if you drink alcohol or consume a lot of sugar while taking any medication, you may be negating many of the potential positive effects.

This drug was given to me along with toridol for a sinusitis attack. After fifteen minutes I screamed to have my IV taken out and began jogging around the room; not good since I had undergone back surgery two weeks prior. The nurse unhooked everything and said he had seen the same reaction that night with a similar case of migraine. He said it should wear off after fifteen minutes. Twenty minutes later the doctor came in and suggested that I have a shot of Benadryl to sleep. No sleep came. I have also experienced this reaction with compazine, except with compazine, I feel like I could run a marathon, but can't move. With Reglan, I run around and feel jumpy and insane. I came home that day and took more Benadryl. I walked laps around the mall. Still no change. Just waiting to get tired.

Very cold hands and feet. Can't seem to get them warm. Not a new side effect, but I'm also having some vision problems. I went to the ER about seven days ago for chest and sinus congestion and I believe they gave me a shot of Levaquin and that's what's causing the problems. When I came home and took the prescription for the 500 milligrams to my pharmacist he told me that the ten pills would cost a hundred bucks and I said I didn't believe I could afford that. Then he checked and came back and said he didn't have that medication. And didn't even offer to try to find it for me. So I just left. Now I believe he probably knew there would be some very bad side effects for me and didn't want to risk maybe a lawsuit. I have been trembly and jittery ever since I was in the ER on March 28th. And believe that the shot they gave me is the cause of it. A friend of mine who is a nurse really got on me because I didn't get the prescrip filled but am I ever glad I didn't. If I can just get over the effect of the shot I'll be okay. I am taking Benadryl for my sinus congestion and it seems to work pretty well. Thank goodness I never took any pills and only have to try and work through this shot.

So, I have been bleeding on myself since I started my NR which has only been 8 days now. So I have been bleeding on myself for 8 days straight, heavy flow. My periods only last for 4-5 days.
Besides that, I am in a terrible DEPRESSIVE state. It was so bad one day that I called my own mother up and told her please kill me, I feel so worthless.
The first day I used NR, I had to leave my BIOL 101 class because I just started feeling sad, extremely sad and started crying for no apparent reason.
At 4:00 AM I started having these horrible pains in my abdomen and pelvic area which caused me to be on the toilet from 4 in the morning until 5:30-6 oclock. I had the runs and then I didnt and then I did. The SHARP PAINS felt so BAD, I almost threw up. My own son started CRYING because he HEARD ME IN SO MUCH PAIN. While i was on the toilet, I actually thought I was dying and i told myself, "OH GOD, I THINK I AM GOING TO HAVE TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM."
Another problem is that I have this raging hunger now and I have gained a significant amount of weight. JUST IN 8 DAYS. My own father told me today that its amazing how last week I was skinny and now this week everyone can see my stomach hanging over my own pants now. THIS IS NOT A LIE.
I was on the DEPO shot and it made 75% of MY HAIR FELL OUT and I BLEED THE WHOLE 3 MONTHS I was on it. 3 days before I was suppose to get the next shot, I GOT PREGNANT.
I am not trying to go through a replay of the depo shot with this NUVARING at all.
And its funny because since I have read these post, women have talked about no SEX DRIVE.
I use to be a horny little bugger with my boyfriend and since I have inserted this ring, SEX has not even CROSSED my mind AT ALL. I sleep like a log nowadays too. Yesterday, I came home from school and fell asleep on the couch at 12:30 pm only to wake at 6:30 p.m. My son's daycare was calling and calling me b.c the daycare closes at 6:30 p.m.
I am so glad I FOUND THIS SITE, so now I KNOW why I have had such a DEPRESSIVE OUT OF CONTROL 8 DAYS!
Its amazing what women have to go through....
