My Dr. Gave me Meprozine after surgery, I was in pain, I took about 14 25MG in 4days, When my brother came to visit me i was seeing and talking out of my head, I had Chickens in my house, People i did not know in my back yard, I was the only one that was seeing this, I got off the Meprozine . It took me 4 days to become normal.

Initially I was fine when taking Kadian w/several morphine sulfate tabs for breakthrough pain. Was also taking 5 MG Valium since being treated for chronic nerve neuralgia I've had for over 20 years. Felt wonderful until my prescription for Valium ran out and I did not get refilled. I did not know the Valium was counteracting the negative side effects. When off Valium, horrendous headaches returned with extensive negative side effects, such as tremors, nervousness, voice quivering--that persisted over 1 month off of Valium; well past stage of withdrawal from Valium!

DOES EVERYONE KNOW THIS IS A BRAZILIAN SNAKE VENOM. Just search under Lisinopril and snake venom and watch what comes up. When I took this I went to the herbal store and took herbs for my kidneys and heart, because this med I read can damage them and I did not know what damage was done after 3 months.

I have been taking Lisinopril for several years. I am 52 years old. I have had terrible scratchiness and coughing at night. As soon as I lay down it starts. I am sweating terribly for no reason. I worked with a personal trainer all last year but could not lose any weight. I have gained weighed and very large waist. After reading this column I feel that all of these side effects are coming from taking this pill. I am also taking Zocor so that is what I am looking up next. Have a dr. appt. this week and I am getting off all of this..... I am so excited to think that there is a reason why I couldn't lose any weight and only gain. My stomach also looks bloated quite a bit. Does the sweating relate to anyone else out there? I didn't hear too much on that from other writers. Please let me know!

I had the Mirena put in when my son was a year old....i have had it now for over 2 years...i experienced the cramping, bloating, bleeding, etc.....i did not know that i would probably gain weight.....i chose the mirena because i was already 30 years old, a smoker and was previously on birth control for ten+ years before stopping it to conceive my son. I slowly began to gain a few pounds, but always put it off to work, my routine changing, etc. We moved to Alabama 6 months later and I noticed that I kept packing on the weight. I contributed it to the lack of an exercise routine that i could be consistent with. I realized this , so i began getting back into the gym, eating right and drinking my water. Still no weight loss. I have since started school again and gained more weight. Again, i blamed it on the stress of school and trying to take care of a three year old. But, after a while, I started to question whether it is really those things, or is it the Mirena. No Doctor has ever suggested that it could be the Mirena. My internal medicine doctor even noticed the weight gain and she doesn't even mention the possibility of it being from the IUD. I know that I am not making this up.....something is not right. NO matter what i do, the weight will not come off......and now, because of the extra weight, i have blood pressure problems. I am 5'9 and weigh 185 pounds.....I have only weighed that one time in my life, and that is when i was pregnant with my son.....I am so discouraged , depressed and just totally give out......I hate the way I look and feel. I used to be tall and slender with a few curves, but GEEES.....now i just have curves and alot of them!!! I think that i have decided to get the Mirena removed , also......and i will just have to stay hopeful that the weight will come off, eventually. Any comments, words of encouragement , personal experiences would be appreciated.....thanks .....lmc31

My thoughts on Prednisone are that it is USELESS!!! It is a popular medicine used to reduce inflammation, but other than that it is good for NOTHING!! It can cause ANY infection to flourish which means ANY minor infection can blossom into widespread SEPSIS. There has got to be something better. By all means...REFUSE PREDNISONE!!!!!!!!

I started taking nuva ring for the second time about three months ago. It took away the cramps but instead added a whole new list of worries. I started getting extremely irritable and would anger at tiny little things. I was also extremely emotional and would cry about everything which I have never done in the past. I became very very depressed and my sex drive completely disappeared. It caused tons of problems with my relationships with people (especially my boyfriend) because of the irritability. I did not know that a birth control could have these side effects. Since taking the nuva ring out the irritability, crying and depression have completely gone away. The only thing I found positive about the nuva ring was that I lost weight (maybe from the depression?) and I didn't have to remember to take a pill everyday. Heck, I'll just take the pill.

All I can say is that this posting has made me feel a bit less crazy... At first I loved Yasmin. I lost a sugnifficant amount of weight and felt very good about my body... 3 or 4 months into it I started having severe panic attacks. I had never had a panic attack before so it scared me even more because I did not know what was going on. I was having panic attacks on the subway ride to work. Many times people would move and sit me down and offer me water because I would turn white and start sweating. I thought maybe it was stress so I began to see a therapist... Which helped a bit but I did not want to take any other medicines that the doctor kept pushing on me so I stopped going. The attacks stopped but the emotional rollercoaster continued very much. I cry ALL THE TIME and get mad very easily. My boyfriend is very supportive of me and helps me get through the depressions and anxiety-- but I don't think it is fair for him to have to do that. More recently I have been getting "brain zaps" that make me a bit dizzy for a moment and then go away. It is very odd... I've also gone and been tested for every allergy ever because everything I eat gives me a stomach ache. I thought it was maybe because I was having too much caffiene but I stopped drinking that and the attacks stopped-- but not the depression and anxiety in general. I never really pointed to the BC until my best friend said she and another friend were having the same symptoms and we were all on the same BC... That said, I'm currently looking for one that doesn't make me insane!!! And doesn't make me gain weight... I can't gain weight or I will stop taking it. So if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!!!!!

I am 46 and was perscribed Omnicef for a sinus infection. I had surgery the next day and did not realize I was having side effects from Omnicef. I have horrible pain in my stomach, entire body has rash and my skin hurts/burns, especially on the back of my calves and my bottom. My face swelled and my neck swelled. My eyes are very swollen. It has been 3 weeks and the side effects have not gone away. I did not know there were such horrible side effects. My doctor has done blood work and urine tests. I do not have the results yet. I will never take this medicine again.

I TOOK SINGULAIR FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF LAST YEAR WHEN I FIRST DEVELOPED ASTHMA. SINCE ASTHMA WAS NEW TO ME, I JUST THOUGHT I WAS MOODY AND PANICKING OVER THE ASTHMA AND NOT THE MEDICENES USED IN THE NEBULIZER, THE ADVAIR OR THE SINGULAIR. EVENTUALLY I STOPPED TAKING THE SINGULAIR AND STOPPED DOING MY NEBULIZER (I KEPT TAKING ADVAIR) JUST BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING MY MOOD SWINGS AND PANIC AND THOUGHT IT COULD BE THE MEDICENE. I ALSO COULD NOT SLEEP AT NIGHT AND DID NOT KNOW WHY. WHEN I STOPPED THE SINGULAIR AND THE NEBULIZER I FELT MUCH BETTER AND WAS ABLE TO SLEEP AGAIN. AFTER ABOUT THREE TO FOUR MONTHS I STARTED DOING THE NEBULIZER AGAIN SINCE THE ASTHMA WAS FLARING UP AGAIN. IT SEEMED TO HELP ME AND I DID NOT FEEL ANY OF THE FEELINGS I FELT THE LAST TIME. JUST THEN I REALIZED WHAT I FELT WAS PROBABLY DUE TO THE SINGULAIR. JUST TWO DAYS AGO I WENT BACK TO THE DOCTOR AND SHE SAID I MAY NEED A MICKEY MOUSE DOSE OF THE SINGULAIR (5MG) AND A LOWER DOSE OF THE ADVAIR. TONIGHT IS THE SECOND NIGHT I TOOK IT AND I SUDDENLY GOT THE RAPID HEARTBEAT AND A MINIMAL PANIC ATTACK. I TOLD MYSELF I WOULD NOT LOOK ON THE NET BECAUSE IT WOULD JUST MAKE ME NERVOUS BUT I DID ANYWAY. I FOUND THIS SITE AND I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS I DID ESPECIALLY SINCE I FELT LIKE I WAS NUTS WHEN I MENTIONED THIS TO MY PULMONOLOGIST AND HE LOOKED AT ME LIKE THERE WAS NO WAY IT COULD BE THE SINGULAIR. THIS SITE CONFIRMED WHAT I WAS THINKING. YEARS AGO I HAD A VERY BAD REACTION TO A DIFFERENT DRUG (ACCUTANE) AND AFTER 3 MONTHS I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT. A LOT OF THE DRUGS OUT THERE WORK WONDERS AND ARE MEANT TO HELP OUR CONDITIONS HOWEVER, EVERYONE KNOWS THEIR BODIES AND WHENEVER WE FEEL SOMETHING THAT IS NOT LISTED IN THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE MEDICENE DOES NOT MEAN IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. ALTHOUGH THE SIDE EFFECTS I HAVE FELT WITH SINGULAIR ARE NOT AS SEVERE AS I HAD WITH THE ACCUTANE IT IS STILL ENOUGH FOR ME TO STOP TAKING IT. I WILL GO BACK TO TAKING THE HIGHER DOSE OF ADVAIR AND I WILL DEFINITELY LET MY DOCTORS KNOW THAT WHAT I FELT WAS THE SINGULAIR AND NOT ME.

I just had surgery and they prescribed Levaquin 500mg. I have just started taken three days ago. My legs has sharp pains as well as my achilles. I have had numbness in my arms and hands. Also, minor confusion and comprehension. I DID NOT know all of this. The side effects on the labels does not say all these side effects on this bored. Now, I am worried after reading all of this. I am not putting another pill in my mouth. My doctor did not say " stop taking this at the sign of ..." This sounds like poison rather than a cure.

I went to the hospital yesterday cause I came down with a cold and had a problem wheezing. I thought I would be treated for a bronchial infection, but instead was given meds for asthma (which I did not know I had). The weird part is that the Dr. did not even tell me I had asthma, I has to ask him straight out after he was describing the prescription for inhalers for me.
When I got home I took the Prednisone with soup and fell asleep. I woke up an hour later in such a whirlwind I thought I was in a nightmare. The drug kicked off intense, compulsive breathing and lead to a 12-hour panic attack. I already have an anxiety problem and this drug wigged me out more than ever before. I called the pharmacist and told her what I was goig through, but she said it was normal and to keep up with the dosage.
It was the worse experience of my life. I vomited all day and night, rocked back and forth compulsively, heart was racing like I was bound to have a heart attack, became extremely sore and weak, I could barely walk. I was even praying to God over and over again to take the effects away...I thought I was going to lose it. I thought about going to the emergency room, but knew they wouldn't help me. So, I rode it out in extreme pain and near insanity....my boyfriend was worried sick and didn't know how to help me.
You couldn't offer me any amount of money to take that drug again...I knew I was done with it after one day. Now after reading all of your posts I know for sure that the short and long term affects are far from worth it. Please try any other alternative before taking this drug. I am bitter that the doctors do not warn you before giving it out like candy....makes it difficult to trust professionals with your health. Hope all of you have seen the light.

When my BP reached 200/125 the doctor gave me Lisinopril.
Within a week I went down hill with anxiety attacks, weak legs, exhausion and pain behind my eyes.
THANKS GOD FOR THIS WEBSIDE. In desperation as a last attempt ( i did not know why I felt this way) a friend recommended to check the internet. I have now gone to herbal remedies, eat garlic, calcium/magnesium and eat potassium rich foods. No or little sodium in my food and working on loosing weight. All this info is available in books and internet, but doctors are not willing to give this advice and just poison us with drugs. I guess they are on commision...?

Well this explains why i am up at 2:00am typing this comment. I'm a 28 year old male and have experienced sleeplessness and irritability after taking this medication for 3 days... I'm a lucid dreamer naturally, and with this med, let me tell you i feel relieved to wake up, the dreams are nonstop and fast paced.
This is my second period taking singulair, previously i was taking it for about 9 days. I did not connect the dots back then but i do remember being cranky and wanting to quit work. I did not know why as i normally feel i have the best job in the world.

I am sure glad that I found this site. I am a 58 year old male, I have been using Advair 500/50 for about 3 years but; I did not know there were side effects with this drug. I have COPD with approximately 15% of lung capacity left. Before starting on the Advair twice a day, I could walk app. 100ft before I got so out of breath. now I am lucky to be able to walk 10 ft. and even then I must rest and catch my breath. I have gained an enormous amount of weight, and at first with a change to my diet I would lose a couple of pounds, but; that was also with my cardiac rehab. The cough is getting much worse and I cough so hard I feel like I am going to pass out. I am nauseated, have no real taste for food anymore. It is hard to swallow even water. I get a sore throat and a lot of mucous and it has become at times very hard for me to speak. I have to speak slowly trying to form my words so they can be understood. I also have a heart condition, and was having real bad palpatations. Why I didn't know, I was hospitalized and was put on Warfain and Solatol which does help. I never would have associated any of these side effects if I had not read them here in this site, thank you for alerting me. I am at a loss as what to do, I am going to contact a lawyer, but; I still do not know if I should stop taking the Advair.

I orignally started taking 25 mg for chronic hives after a roller coaster w/any thing containing blue dye, prednizone, allegra, claritan. Finally I stopped taking all colored meds only white or pale. I have a lot of wgt gain since this ordeal started in Nov. I did not know Doxepin could cause wgt gain. I am now taking 50 mg at night for insomnia and it does have an antihystamine in it. I think I am going to cut back to 25 mg again and get off this. One Dr. told me anything with antihystames are a wgt gainer. I also take Zoloft in the a.m. which helps okay and Doxepin can also be used for that but mainly helps me sleep and gain wgt :-)

I am shocked by what I am reading. I have been on lisinopril for a year and have been having terrible heavy chest with difficulty breathing, a weird pain in the left side of my neck that comes and goes (kind of a restricting feeling) and other things like dizziness, fatigue, panic attacks, disturbed sleep. I am getting healthy by diet (vegan - see the books by Dr. Dean Ornish who helps you get rid of heart trouble and high blood pressure through a vegan diet) and excercise. I am going to get off this medication. I am scared to death now. I did not know why I was having these troubles but now I read all these posts and other people are having same trouble.

I was in an auto accident end of October 2005. I have neck and back injuries. I have had 4 injections in 3 months ( 2 for the neck and 2 for the back). I had irregular periods. After first injection, I had a period next day which lasted for 3 days. I was not due until 10 days later which is when I did get my period again. After the other injections same deal, period too early and then again when scheduled. After last injection end of June, I did not get my period. Last cycle was June 13. It is now almost August. I had blood test to check testosterone level and it was normal. Still waiting on rest of test. I started to grow hair on face, neck, back, chest and arms more than supposed to for a woman in her 30s. I was diagnosed with a slight case of hirsutism. I am trying to get to the bottom of what is messed up in my body to correct it- the hair growth and missed period. I did not know there were side effects and Dr. said I am the first person in 14 years to make that complaint. My fiance' was in the accident with me and has had 2 shots and he has experienced increase growth of hair (at least he can shave it) and his testosterone level is low. Now he needs to see and endocrinologist. I have to see my OB/GYN to try to resolve this. My cycles were normal before this procedure. Sure it helped to take away some of the pain but now the pain is coming back. I am not having anymore injections and it looks as if I have to have surgery on my back, shoulder and neck. It helped one thing temporarily but has left me with new problems to face when I had enough on my plate. Also, I agree with Guest who posted the short term memory. I have had problems with that since the accident and primarily notice it since the injections. I seem to reverse letters at times when typing. I did not have this before. Here are some side effects from a website I found online.

I started taking Guaifen 3 days ago and i had a hard time sleeping. The first day i felt that my heart was beating very fast and i could not sleep at all. The next night, again, i was not able to sleep even 30 mintues altogether, and during those 30 mintues, i had nightmares. I did not know that this medication can cause sleeplessness until i read the side affects. I knew there was something wrong becuase it is unlike me not to sleep, since i love sleeping.

In April of 2000 I was diagnosed as haveing Erectile Dysfunction. I had had been taking Lisinopril prior to this diagnoses for Hypertension. I did not know at the time that Lisinopril could cause impotence. It does and my problem with Erectile Dysfunction has gotten worse. Also the darn cough really messes you up. I have made an appointment with my Dr. to discuss this and if there might be some alternatives. I have not had any Doctor discuss the side effects with me at all until I started going to my current VA Doctor in Tacoma, Washington.

Been on advair for 1 1/2 years always had muscle cramps especially in feet and legs - leaped out of bed at night because they were sooooo bad. On each leg they were so bad the cramp indented my calf muscle and tore blood vessels and my legs were purple for about two weeks. I did not know it was Advair until.... February 28th sitting at my desk at work my heart went out of whack 160 beats a minutes...ambulance called...hospital ER doctor told me I had SVT (supraventricular tacycardia) told me to get off the Advair...scary situation...I reported it to the FDA (it is the serevent aspect of the medication that does this). Am now on Qvar.
My sister has also been taken off of Advair. I would recommend to anyone taking Advair to stop.

IF YOU ARE TAKING THIS, STOP NOW. There is hope!! I think after about 3 months it started effecting my activity. I started wanting to do so much but would just brush everything aside and not finish poems, art projects, not do things with people I really wanted to. but my acne went away.......and for a while that made me feel more confident. In late July I started having some mild halluicinations. things would just......seem different, I cannot explain it. In September I completely lost it. I heard and saw things that were not there, I did not know what was going on. but I pressed on with school. I thought I was schizophrenic......I was so scared. but I pressed on, until one night I went completely numb. I felt disassociated. I looked in the mirror just to make sure I was there. I had horrible graphic images come into my head. it was horrifying. I almost took my life one night because I thought there was no hope. I thought if this is my waking life forever, then I do not want to life. but I called the suicidal hotline and then went to my friends' place then the next day we drove 2 hours back home and talked to my gynecologist, and she immediately admitted me to the psych ward. I begged not to go, but it was for the best. I stayed there for 5 nights and it changed my life. I learned a lot of about faith and different walks of life that night. I have chosen to pursue Buddhist philosophies and eastern teachings while learning about more religions. I believe that God is just thought of differently in different countries, and it is not a mission to convert but just help. do what you can. I know many of you are not able as this poison of a pill has shaken you, but I promise you will get better. I honestly was going out of my mind for a few weeks, and I wanted to die one night. Now, each day is a step closer to healing and a step further from that shit. Once you stop taking it you should notice a difference. Seek some therapy or help though, as you may need it. You will learn who your true friends are during all of this, and probably learn a lot about yourself. It was so painful, and I'm still a little shaken by it, but my just being able to type this shows my gained coherence. So just know there is hope! I hope a class action lawsuit gets started and that it gets recalled soon also! Something I have started doing is bouncing a bouncy ball when I feel nervous, scared, paranoid etc. I find it fun and also takes your mind off and also is a much healthier way of relieving stress instead of squeezing a ball! email me at****** if you ever want any encouragement or tips or just want to ask me any question. I check my email everyday.
