I have been taking Phentermine under the direction of my dr. now for about 2 years (on for 6 months off for 6 months). I started at 250 pounds and I'm now at 180. My goal is 135-140.
I can not stress enough how very important it is to DRINK WATER while taking this medication. You CAN DIE if you don't.
I ended up in the hospital for severe dehydration once, and that will never happen again. My hands locked up, my body started shaking, had a fever of 104, etc,.it's not fun.
Side Effects I have experienced:
Rapid Heartbeat
Panic Attacks / Anxiety
Nervousness
Easily Irritated
Sick at my stomach
Constipation
Constantly Thirsty
Body/Hands Shake if you don't drink enough water
The constant need to stretch every part of my body (this makes you want to get up and run around)
Odd cravings for vegetables and dairy products
Insomnia
Abdominal Cramps (most likely caused by constipation)
Diarrhea (usually only if I drink lots of orange juice or Starbucks)
Feel like you are on speed (because you are)- you will clean your whole house if you take this stuff.

I've been on Topamax (150mg/a day) for 4 years for migraines. At the start I had some of the common side effects: dropping things, memory loss, mood swings, weight loss. The weight loss evened out in the first year or so, and the other side effects went away in the first few months-mainly after my Dr. had me take it as one dose only at night, and increase the amt. of water I drink. I am still on it, and they just increased my does to 300mg/ a day for chronic pain. So far, no weird side effects, but I'll wait and see. I'm sure anything is possible. But after trying everything before for migraines, this was the only thing that worked, and was worth riding out a few months of side effects. I was honest with family and coworkers when I did dumb stuff, or had off the wall mood swings and got through it. Guess I may have to do the same thing again. Reading on her some many bad experiences, I hope some of the people starting it or thinking about, will give it a chance to work. I was desperate and so out of options, I am so glad that I did.

The other really bad side effect which I forgot to mention was constantly feeling thirsty, but no matter how much water I drink, it doesn't make a difference. I also noticed a bad taste in my mouth since I started taking Yasmin. I was brushing my teeth 5 times a day but as soon as I brush them, the bad taste comes back. I wanted to go on the pill b/c I have really painful periods and am prone to ovarian cysts, but for me, this is even worse than bad periods. I think the only way to know is to try it, b/c I do have friends who use it and like it, but for me, it had very negative side effects.

I have been taking Yasmin for almost 2 weeks and already I'm noticing major side effects. Both good and bad. I have lost a little bit of weight and my breasts have gotten a little bigger. But those positives don't outweigh the negatives. I had one day of horrible naseua but that didn't last long. My skin has been a little pimple-prone but I'm not sure if that's due to the pill. I have had some spotting, but I know that that is normal and something I can live with temporarily. The MAJOR thing is I have never been prone to getting depressed or being emotionally unstable, but ever since I've been taking this pill I am constantly insecure and crying over absolutely nothing. I am sensitive to everything. I never used to be like this at all. I mean, I am human and I will have my downtimes, but this is too noticibly different. After googling the side effects and seeing depression as the first thing to pop up, I know that this must be the reason for my sudden mood changes. Even if they are temporary, I am not taking the chance. I am going off of this pill as soon as possible. Has anyone else experienced these problems after being on the pill for a short time? I'm wondering how long it takes to get back to 'normal'.
Obviously every pill is going to have different side effects for different people. I'm sure this pill could work fine for some people. But I don't like the effect it has had on me.

I started taking Topamax a couple of weeks ago, but decided to make the decision to stop taking it.
Typically, I am a very quick, sharp thinker, but not while on this medication. I became very forgetful, almost absent-minded, and confused. And, the mettalic taste in my mouth was very unpleasant. I drink a lot of diet soda, a real bummer to discover it's flat taste. Also, a couple of days prior to my quitting it, the fingers in one hand were feeling numb.
If these are just the beginning of the side effects, I am saying no thanks to Topamax. There has to be something better out there with less side effects.

Hi,
I am a 36 years old italian girl,I apologize for grammar mistakes I will make, but I really want to share my bad experience with the ring.
I didn't find anything on italian websites, most of women simply find it great as I did for the first 5 minutes, but I soon started to experience strange effects wich I couldn't imagine were related to the ring.
The notice doesn't say many things!
When I inserted it, my period stopped to reappear after 15 days very heavy, this way I had a period of almost 2 weeks!
Second month I didn't have spotting, but I started experience chills and flashes as well as vertigos (and I was on holiday!) but I didn't think this could be the ring, as I say, the notice doesn't speak about this.
My cholesterol is higher together with 2 others levels in my blood analysys I am not able to translate.
Third month I gained 4 kilos in 2 weeks and believe me I am so concerned about my weight, always going to the gym and eating healhty. My breast and belly are huge as if I was pregnant and spotting is neverending.
I drink a lot of water, but don't go to the bathroom as much as I should, it seems I am absorbing all the water I drink!
Last thing my eyes are burning and it is getting difficult to stay to the computer
I will change b/c asap. I am happy I have found this site, it makes me feel that I am not alone.
Thank you girls

I have been on lithium carbonate for 5 monthes. My hair has just started falling out a few weeks ago and I am not happy about this! I am also about 25 pounds overweight. I am very groggy in the morning- I take my pill at night. I am actually quite tired alot of the time, and thirsty but that isn't too bad, I drink alot of water. I went on lithium for bipolar disorder. I don't feel a change with my usual moods due to life, stress etc, but I am not manic.

i have been taking Yamine for about a month and a half, after being on a generic pill for a couple years. I didnt know if these symptons i was having was caused by yasmine, but now i think it may be. I have been getting lightheaded, blurry eyes, shakiness, hot flashes..almost like a panic attack, and i have become very dehydrated, even though i have been drinking alot of water. I even went to the doctors for these symptons and they still don't have an answer, so i think it may be yasmine.my newest sympton as of yesterday is chest pain. also i feel like my heart is beating fast all the time, and i feel fatigued way too often, which is causing me to eat more, becauase i am starving way to often, and if i don't eat i feel like i am going to collapse. Also my sex drive has gone to non-existant- is that common? I workout all the time, and eat pretty healthy, so i don't know what else these symptons could be coming from. Is anyone else experiencing these sympons?

Just one question I have been on this stuff at the beginning dose for less than a week. My eyes hurt, my head is about to explode, I am sick as a dog, I lost 5 pounds, I can't eat, constipated, can't sleep, can't function, ringing in my ears, and the ADD is unbelievable. I am a medical transcriptionist I kind of need to be able to work, no work, no pay. Topamax is going bye-bye for sure but how long till the side effects go away?

I was given Bactrim after a laser procedure to my face. For the first seven days, my only symptom was a very red face which I unknowingly attributed to the laser procedure. On the eighth day, my face was very much improved in colour which I later realised was because I had accidently missed two doses of Bactrim. When I recommenced with the Bactrim the next morning, within a few hours my face was intensely itchy and red and I broke out in a rash all over my torso. At this point I became concerned and did some internet research, only to realise my symptoms were all Bactrim related. Apparently sulfite allergies are relatively common amongst the population, and I now know why I get a flushed face when I drink beer or wine.

I began using Nuvaring three months ago after having a baby in March. Two months ago, I began having acid reflux episodes so intense it took me to the ER, Urgent Care twice, my doctor, a gallbladder scan, a GI specialist and almost (the next step, if I need it) an upper endoscopy.
I am a 29 year old female with no other health problems. I have never had acid reflux before. I drink and smoke occasionally. I eat healthy 90% of the time.
I took out my Nuvaring for my cycle yesterday and today I have felt much better. No burning in my stomach, no belching. No acid reflux symptoms at all.
It may be related or it may not, but the timing is suspicious. I will not be using Nuvaring again. I'll update you if my symptoms return.

i been on prozac 10mg and i felt really good but i felt that i wanna to hurt someone even people i didn't know. I also started to drink more than i use to, i got more thirsty than before. Well i got tooken off of it because the doctor believed it caused me to hurt all those people that i hurted. After four months i got back on it because it made me feel hyper and i like it, well i got put back on it but this time it was 20mg and i still wanted to hurt people and i was still thirsty. Later i got put on 40mg and i am obsessively thirsty and i drink about really 2 gallons a day and i spend all of my money on drinks and that is all i want to do and i am tired of it. I still have a moment where i want to hit someone but i really don't want to. I think 10mg was the best mg because i felt really good and 20mg just made me feel good but not really hyper and outgoing.

Today is my sixth day on the nuva ring, yesterday the symptoms started. I was extremely sick, nausea, muscle spasms, my entire body felt weird as if my blood was not circulating right, I also had this weird pain in my neck and chest and could not sleep last night. Today I have a bad urinary tract infection (which i know is due to the NR because i drink plenty of water and eat cranberries on a regular basis) I have never felt this way before

I have been "self-medicating" with Seroquel for more than 4 years. I often take just 50 mg to get me to at least fall asleep for a couple of hours. When I tale the 100 mg tablet I sleep better for almost a whole 6 hours! I am a victim of my own distruction though; I drink coffee in massive quantities and smoke heavily. I do not have the weight gain but do have the surreal dreams and often a lower back ache which I normally atribute to the crummy mattress I sleep on. My main problem i; I start my regimine of meds and stop when I think I am better. I end up losing any job(s) I have and have to restart the drugs all over again. My doctor's have found a mix of epival (divol-proex) 1500 mg, for mood swings and the Seroquel should help my depression and bi-polar. I assume if I ever manage to stay on them both long enough to actually have a full affect I could be more helpful in suggesting this regimine to others. But a viscious circle starts with the drugs, when you are covered by any disability plan the drugs are accessible; but when you start working and exceed a certain income, the drug plan stops and becomes too costly to buy.

Well I finished my first month of Yasmin and things are starting to improve. I almost quit it half way through.
I did experience break through bleeding, bloating in the beginning, cramps, backaches, increase in appetite and extreme breast soreness and an increase in breast size. My first period was very light (3 days) with minimal cramps. The bloating went away, along with the backaches. My breasts are still sore and enlarged and I am hoping and praying that they go back to normal after the three months. I have to admit that my skin is much clearer, I am 31 and have suffered from mild adult onset acne for about 6 years. I have gained a few pounds but I believe that this is my body adjusting to the hormones and I will lose it soon. My appetite has increased but I make sure that I eat very small meals more frequently and I drink a lot of water.
Remember, hormones mimic pregnancy, so weight gain and breast soreness isn't unusual.
My advice is to give Yasmin at least 3 months for your body to adjust. All BC's have side effects. Yasmin is promising and the fact that it helps with clear skin is a bonus. Just hang in there!

So I'll refer to today as Hell Day, the day when all the horrible symptoms of my birth control pill attack me at once and I literally cannot take it. I had this exact same thing happen when I was on the nuvaring, and I stopped it immediately. I'm willing to sacrifice having 100% safe sex if it means I don't have to feel like I'd rather shove a knife through my brain than exist. It's only my second month of Yasmin, and I'm feeling more fatigued than ever before in my life. I feel so horribly depressed. It's beautiful outside and I was lying on the grass, thinking only about being DEAD. I'm not one to be depressed. The only other time I've felt this awful was my third month into the Nuvaring. I specifically asked my doctor for something that wouldn't make me depressed, nor gain weight. Well, I gained about 5 pounds that won't come off no matter how hard I try, and the depression is just getting worse and worse. I'm stopping this pill tomorrow.
Other symptoms included:
*Initially: a sharp breathing pain under my left lung
*Weird, small rash on my leg
*Would rather be in bed than do anything
*Overwhelming feeling of loneliness, questioning self-worth, etc.

I was a relatively healthy woman up until the day I took Levaquin for chest congestion. On the second day, I developed insomnia, hot flashes. panic attacks, feelings of impending doom, depression, muscle twitching, dehydration, blurred vision etc...I ended up in the ER for near-syncope/dehydration. I thought I was going crazy and the doctors couldn't explain the symptoms because all the tests came back negative for any diagnoses. The doctor prescribed ativan which has helped a lot. I drink plenty of fluids especially green tea (antioxidants) and lemon juice (purifier). No caffeine. I also take liverite and milk thistle to help restore liver function. Exercise nightly if you can. After 1 week, I can now sleep through the night but I still suffer from anxiety.
Unfortunately, until someone dies from this drug, it will not be taken off the market. The FDA doesn't have your best interest at heart and does not care how medication side effects affect you because they are funded by the pharmaceutical companies. I have learned a grave lesson....read all inserts before ingesting anything.

I have noticed changes in my memory, and felt very fatigued when I first started the warfarin. The fatigue has tapered off after 5 months but I notice more changes in memory lately. I get off the med in one more month. I found the best way to control drug levels is to eat at least one frozen meal a day with a lot of vegetables, such as a Lean Cuisine that is advertised as having twice as many vegetables as a regular lean cuisine...then I eat dinner and limit leafy green vegetable intake. I'm also not positive of this, but sometimes it is harder to control when I drink a lot of green tea. Hope this helps someone.

After by-pass heart surgery in 2002, my cardilogist put me on 40mg of zocor.
I was in good health with no physical limitations. I had no heart damage. The restriction of heart arteries were found due to my stress test that was performed each year as a part of my annual Physical. After surgery I was on zocor for three years, during that time I experienced a little tiredness, little weakness, a little muscle aches. some tingling in my right arm and shoulder. I went to my heart doctor Jan. 2006 and he changed me to vytorin (10mg zetia and 40mg zocor). about 6 months all of the about symptoms got worse.
By Jan. 2007, my muscles became so stiff, I could not walk, had balance problems, severe muscle aches and cramps, numbness and tingling in both arms and hands, also stifness and pain in my hands, stiffness and pain in both feet, stifness and pain in my back and weird nerve sensations over my entire body. During Jan. and Feb 2007, I was seen by my family doctor, a neurologist, and a muscle doctor. Thanks to the internet, I found info on zocor and zetia, which is the drug vytorin. Warnings described the same symptoms I am experiencing. I stopped vytorin, I am not taking any statins drugs now. My doctor order a blood test to check for muscle damage, It indicated severe damage, a Creatine level of 770. This level should not be over 200. After being off the drugs for 30 days the creatine level dropped to 645. My condition has improved by 25%. I am walking a little better, but I still having muscle problems, there is improvement. I think there will be a very long recovery. There seems to be some evidence that these Statins affect people of age much more than the young. I am 70 years old. PLEASE PEOPLE, IF YOU ARE TAKING STATINS DRUGS, STOPPED NOW! SLOVE YOUR CHOLESTROL PROBLEMS BY OTHER MEANS. Since I stopped my cholestrol has gone from 157 to 280, but I am not going back taking these drugs. I am trying the natural way now. I have read post after post on many web-sites of people with the same symptoms that were using these drugs. The drug companies and the FDA are responsible for the the degradation of people's health taking these statin drugs.

I take 50mg daily. At first tingling in hands, and loss of taste of carbonates (like pop tasted flat all the time) that went away after a while. Lost weight, but gained it back within the year. When i drink alcohol I don't feel anything, even after several drinks, no hangovers. anyone else experience that? I can only guess its from the topamax, because I used to get terrible hangovers, and now I never do, and also I stopped taking it for a short while and while not on it I would get severe hangovers. NONE when on topamax. Has virtually changed my life on the otherhand, I used to get migrains DAILY! now I get them maybe once a month if that, and they are not nearly as bad.

wow!
it sounds like everybody hates topamax from all the posts that i read... although i didnt read them all...
anyway, at first i had the memory loss thing but it seems to be ok now. i think i always had memory problems though, but it did get worse for the first couple months on topamax and then a little worse when my doc upped my dose. although now i think that my body may have gotten used to it, bc i feel a bit back to normal with my memory.
i also have the leg tingling. mainly i notice something like a slight throbbing if i put my foot down too suddenly, but it doesnt actually hurt. i notice the actual tingling in my legs/feet when i drink though, but only when i drink.
what else? oh, the hair loss. ALTHOUGH, this could also be from my dying my hair a lot... bc i have always had a hair loss problem, but i think the topamax accelerated it.
however, these side effects arent enough for me to get off the drug until my doc thinks so. i had migraines every week or more. horrible ones where i had to stop what i was doing and lie down. i missed a lot of school , missed a lot of work... sometimes they would last for more than a day. i needed help. now i only get migraines during that time of the month, and several docs have said its bc of the lack of estrogen... even when i get those migraines i only get the symptoms , not the pain. i dont even have to take anything. i have my life back... haha, i sound like a lifetime story or a commercial. anyway, i <3 my topamax and im just going to start taking a biotin supplement to prevent hair loss until i can get off this drug when it is time.

I have been taking lipitor for the last 2 and a half years of 40 mg. Since taking the drug, I am having cramps on my legs. First I thought it was more of not drinking enough water but lately it is not the case. I drink more than 8 glasses of water including green tea. LAtely I am having severe cramps with lipitor. The only drug I take and I try to avoid any other drugs for any pains. I am 43 years and run 15 to 20 miles weekly.
I am abit worried that it might be Lipitor for the cause.
Thank you. nithy

I have been on Doxy since the 29th for possible pneumonia/sinus infection-deep cough, swollen nodes sick for almost three weeks.
I am pretty healthy at 39 but got this whopper that wouldn't let go.
The doc prescribed this Dox 100mg,along with Prednisone. My cough is clearing up,feel better overall, but have had very vivid, chaotic, and scattered dreams.
A little GERD (I have Barretts Esophagous so wouldn't feel too much hburn) today, but the main issue was the pill, so strong I projectile vommitted three times yesterday, have had major runs, and dry skin.
It works best for me after food and loads of water/vitamin water, and staying very hydrated. I drink a lemon ginger tea to soothe my stomach.
Other than that I am in Arizona and haven't had any sun-sensitivity issues.
I have had a headache as well for two days, but the vomitting could have brought that on, I almost popped a gasket it was so sudden.
Well, it seems this one is a doozy, get all of the facts on it-especially the NO DAIRY when taking it...
Hope all readers feel better!

27 yr old healthy male. Have red-irritated eyes, occasional sneeze and runny nose, live in Denver (highly polluted). Come to think about it, never started having symptoms until after about 1 yr of living here. Symptoms have persisted for 2 yrs now. Maybe I should move?
doctor thought was allergies, so tried: Patanol, Singulair, Claritin, Duramist = no help. Eyes are still itchy, eyelids are embarrassingly red (I look like I'm high all the time). After 4 months on Singulair, noticed significant weight gain, dehydration, and sensitivity to light. Couldn't work out, play paint ball. Urine was always dark yellow. Singulair seemed to help at first, but as time went on, symptoms were worse and had additional problems, weight gain, etc. Things seemed to be spiraling out of control, and I am really depressed b/c there seems to be no solution.
I complained of some loss of vision (i.e. blurriness, hard to focus), so doctor sent me to ophthalmologist. They prescribed glasses and said I have dry eye like that person posted on Nov 18th. They told me to wash my eyes with baby soap. No help! These people have no idea what to do, I got fed up and quite taking Singulair after reading this website. I hope to lose weight and start working out again. I can't believe that doctors prescribe Singulair and have no idea (NO IDEA!) of all of us who must suffer from this terrible drug.
I don't do drugs, drink occasionally and have really cut down trying to get this problem solved. I have become sensitive to caffeine, if I drink coffee, my eyes hurt so bad, I can hardly keep them open. I'm going to do as much research as I can to find a solution. I trusted my doctors - bad idea!
