I was given 6 tablets to cure a sore throat. After the first 2 tablets, I suffered severe abdominal pain and was told to take Imodium to relieve the pain. When the pain went off, I continued taking the third and fourth pill but stopped taking it when I felt unwell. Then the chills and the crying started. I couldn't sleep and thought I was going crazy. I didn't make the connection until I read this website. It has been almost a month since I stopped taking the medication and like most of those who had suffered similar symptoms, I have never had any emotional or mental problems and this is scary. Someone should tell the drug company to post a serious warning on this awful side effect which can really destroy lives. Can someone who have found a solution tell me how long will this last and if there is any way to expedite relief of symptoms because I cannot even concentrate on work, sleep and carry on effectively with daily activities. Thank you.

I went to the doctor with complaints of possible mold/fungus in my lungs which got better on it's own - but progressed to a throat infection. Later, my right nostril was runny for a while, which progressed into a blockage/infection of my middle ear. The doctor agreed - I have no compacted wax or anything wrong with my outer ear, so it seems to be a middle ear infection. He prescribes Biaxin XL 500mg for seven days, for my combination of ailments.

By the first day, I had a very vivid wet dream. Awesome, I guess. Then the second day I start with diarrhea, and another vivid dream. Today is the third day, and I slept before work. Had another vivid dream about someone building a house for me - and really runny stool. I can hardly call it diarrhea - more like urinating from my anus. Anyway.

Blockage in my ear went away the second day, but it's back again. I searched the net to explain the diarrhea (hopefully find something explaining the expulsion of bacteria causes this, but no, just a 'side effect' I suppose). I'm going to take some Imodium as soon as I can to battle the diarrhea, and hopefully things will get better by the end.

I can't complain about the dreams though. No nightmares yet, and I enjoy remembering my dreams, so...

I had been taking Femcon since March 2008 when my doctor switched me because of my girly issues. I actually started taking BC about 8 years ago because of very very heavy painful periods that lasted 20 days and would make me bed rest for 2-3 days. (I took Yasmin for 6 years and looooved it until i got use to it and my periods started returning to their old self about 5 years in). Femcon seemed like a great thing to take and actually worked wonders until December 2008. At that point my doctor recommended me taking the pills nonstop to see if that would help control my bleeding and regulate my hormones. About January... lets say 12th, i started having SEVER diarrhea... im talking like 4-10 times a day. I became severely dehydrated and i, on a normal day drink at least 3 liters of water and no other fluids. This continued until about 2 weeks ago i stopped taking my pills and have now switched to the DEPO shot.. ALL DIARRHEA has stopped... the stomach cramps and everything... before i was living on Imodium when i had plans or was out of town and now... i have a huge bottle and have not used any in a while....

I was prescsribed Omnicef for sinusitis. On Day#2 I began having diarrhea. Thought I'd stick with the regimen, but on Day #5 stopped taking it as having severe diarrhea everytime I went to the bathroom. It is almost a week now since I started taking it and my bowels are not back to normal yet. Have call in to doctor's office for seomthing to relieve the diarrhea as Immodium does not work (pharmacy insert with medicine said as much--OTC remedies will not help--and it's true!) I am 50 years old, in good health otherwise, but this med knocked me for a loop! Will NEVER take it again. PS Did not help the sinusitis, either.

After first two days I had very bad diarrhea with bad gas and cramping. So I took Immodium. The diaherra got better but I still experienced some gastro issues. I also had a few bumps on my face that looked like acne. The next day I started to get very bad body aches in my neck, lower back, knees, hips and calfs. The rash exploded and was all over my face. Big red sore and very itchy. Benadryl cortaid help a little but not much. I looked up this site and will stop taking it and call my Doctor.

I have been off Yasmin for 2 weeks now. For the last five years I have had horrible IBS. I didn't go more than 3 or 4 days without an attack. Plus I had to take Imodium once a day EVERY day. Since I have been off Yasmin, I haven't had one IBS attack and no imodium either. If anyone out there has been taking Yasmin and having IBS symptoms, get off it ASAP!

I just found this site. Whew, I am not going crazy! I began taking 5 mg. of Lisinopril a couple of years ago and it didn't seem to help my borderline blood pressure. We moved to another state and the the new Dr. upped it to 10 mg. I have been on this for a few months and have experienced several of the symptoms others have shared. My coughing, especially at night, can be horrific. Since I have allergies, I thought it was associated with them, however, I never had coughing spells like these, until Lisinopril. Other symptoms included heart burn and dull headaches. The most significant problems I have had are sleeplessness, a few anxiety attacks at night, diarrhea and serious dizziness. I have gained weight and my Dr. wants me to lose 15 pounds. But no matter what I do I can't seem to shed the unwanted pounds.

I spoke to my previous Dr. who told me to take Imodium for the diarrhea (common complaint in people over 50) and didn't seem too concerned about the sleeplessness. The dizziness has begun since being on 10 mg. and has been progressively worse. Maybe I should also go off the Lisinopril. Now there are concerns about diabetes-none in immediate family that I know of.

My husband went to the doctor Saturday, 3/19/05 was there at least 3 hours before being seen by the doctor. He went for sinus allergies. He was prescribed Singulair, my husband took the dose late that afternoon after having lunch with a close friend. At around 2am he started having stomach pain and the urge to release everything in his stomach. Since 2am that morning he had strong vomiting and diarrhea up until 4pm the next day. I gave him a warm chammomille tea and Immodium advanced to help him get through this horrible ordeal. He also came down with flu like symptoms of aching muscles and the vomiting/diarrhea continued it was extremely difficult for me to watch him suffer this way. My small 4 year old started crying feeling that his daddy would not get better, this was extremely sad for both of us. My husbands diarrhea finally calmed down at around 7pm Sunday. The vomiting continued since he did try to have a light soup, he then went to bed early at around 9:30pm and later complained of having dilusional dreams as though they were very real, this is one of the symptoms described on the medication. My husband was never really able to sleep since he had taken this medication it wouldnt allow him to get any rest. Finally at around 3:30 am that Monday he finally dozed off and slept until 7:30 am. only 4 hours of somewhat sleep.

He wasnt feeling well enough that Monday morning so he forced himself to stay home from work to catch up on some rest, my husband had gone through an absolute horrible ordeal only because some doctor gambled on guessing this medication would be ok for him. My husband also had very fast heart rate along with everything else I've talked about.

He did mention to this doctor that he had previously had open heart surgery and the doctor didnt feel that this would be an issue with Singulair. When the doctor was contacted on Saturday morning he simply told my husband that his symtoms were due to him picking up a viral infection from the patients sitting around him in the waiting room that Saturday morning he came in. I strongly doubt that this was the case.
To everyone out there if you read this message please do not allow your dear family loved one to be put on Singulair, this medication is extremely destructive. My husband simply went in for allergy treatment and ended up having a weekend nightmare. So please I strongly advise that if you suffer from allergies do not allow any physician to prescribe you this absolute nightmare medication. I wish you all well and take great care of yourselves along with your dear loved ones.

Thank you.
Ms. Hicks

I DO NOT recommend Desogen!!! I started taking Desogen because it was cheaper through my university health center. I started off fine...then the second and third week I began getting extremely tense in my neck and shoulders, severe headaches, I had nausea for 2 weeks straight. My eating habits changed dramatically - I began to constantly think about food and get terrible cravings. I had no self-control when it came to food. Everytime I ate, even when I was extremely hungry, I became very bloated. I could have a couple bites of something about feel like I spent 3 hours at a buffet. My breasts increased in size and I gained weight due to the change in eating. My sex drive is low - my boyfriend and I used to have sex regularly but I have not had sex in 23 days - he's been keeping count :(. I am very emotional and depressed sometimes. During these two weeks, I have random pains in my abdomen that feel like cramps I would have during my period. I didn't have any kind of spotting or anything and it wasn't too heavy when I was on my period. I also have very loose stools - often diarea (sp?) then I'll take Immodium and get really constipated. I have almost all of the symptoms of pregnancy but there's no way I'm pregnant - it's this stupid birth control. I know that most medicines take 3 months to get right in the body but I stopped my second month. I couldn't handle it. I stopped last night - right before the start of the 3rd week. I feel amazingly better even the day after - I still feel bloated and stuff though. Don't take it unless you want to feel like you are sick 24/7.

I was perscribed 500 mg. Levaquin after Amoxoxillin didn't end an ear infection. I only took one pill. Within a couple hours I had diarhea that stopped after two hours only to return the next morning after eating breakfast. The diarhea persisted throughout the day while I only drank clear pops and water. I had terrible cramping as well. I called my clinic and was told these are normal side effects and to take some Immodium for diarhea and Tums to calm my stomach. Then 24 hours after taking one dose of Levaquin, I began vomiting violently. After several hours of this, I began to have bloody stool and my husband called the on-call doctor. He perscribed Phenergan for nausea and vomiting and lots of liquid. I dosed on an off all night interupted by trips to the bathroom. The vomiting finally stopped the next evening and the diarhea the next morning.
I was not warned of the side effects or given alternative treatments. This was three days of living hell!!!
