I too had chest pains!! That is something that they do no tell you.
This medication definitely needs to be re-evaluated by the FDA, to determine what damage it may do to your heart.
I was already seeing a psychiatrist for Panic disorder so I had valium at home. However, I still ended up in the ER for my chest pains after getting no call back from my dr for two weeks telling her that I was having all of the other side effects ( except the hair loss), tingling in the hands and feet, fatigue, moodiness, different tastes of things, especially colas.
Nevertheless, I was diagnosed at the ER with having a panic attack....DUHHHH, how could I possibly be having a panic attack when I had taken about 2 1/2 10 mg valium to try to get my chest to stop hurting. I explained to the ER dr. that I had started taking the topamax 3 weeks prior...There absolutely needs to be better education of this drug and its terrible side effects!!!

Hello,
I started taking Effexor about 4 weeks ago for social anxiety disorder. Initially I experienced some side effects such as dry mouth, trembling, feeling light headed, nausea and drowsiness. These side effects diminished and my doctor increased my dose to 75 mg, I then experienced other side effects for example very vivid dreams like watching a movie played out before me which was kind of interesting until I had a very vivid and disturbing nightmare. I also experienced weightloss. Currently I am having trouble sleeping which causes me to feel very tired in the day, and have been troubled by mild depression which I'm trying to conquer. On the positive side, i find that I'm not as anxious as I used to be however I'm a long way from complete recovery. It takes about 12 weeks to feel the full effect of the treatment and I am impatient to be rid of this horrible anxiety disorder. I'm happy to be on Effexor and can tolerate the side effects, they are nothing compared to what it's like to live with social anxiety disorder and insignificant in comparison to enduring the pain of depression.

I have been on Ovcon35 for about 8 months and have experienced the effects as everyone else. I started taking it to eleminate my periods b/c of endometriosis and I have only not had any problems for six weeks out of the 8 months. Since mid October I have not had any sign of bleeding for only five days out of almost two months. This is not normal I'm making an appointment with another ob/gyn to get a second opinion. This is driving me crazy and my husband is getting impatient.

I've been on Yasmin now for 3 months and have been shocked at the adverse effect it's had on me (an my long suffering boyfriend). I had been off the Pill for 1 year when I decided at the start of 2006 to go on it again. What a mistake. In the last few months I've been snappy, impatient, depressed, anxious and paranoid. Even the slightest thing makes my blood boil and makes me lose my temper. I am coming off it the minute the last (3rd) packet is finished and hope to get back to myself.

i am new here, i wanted to know, if the hair loss is normal after you stop the pill? when i was on it, my hair fell a little bit more than what is normal, but now it is out of controll, it is way too thin and i had so much hair that it used to be bothersome to blowdry or style b/c it was way too much, but now it is way too thin :( i started using NIOXIN, anyone use that here??? well i just want to know if this will stop, i am 22 and getting very impatient with this hairloss, i feel so unattractive, i am getting even more depressed and anxiouse, and i am in college about to graduate so i am very stressed, i know that adds on to the hairloss, but not this severly. Good luck to all of you struggling with this horrendouse pill, i have been yasmin free now for about 5 months. TIP: drink alot of green and white tea, it flushes out alot of toxins, way more than just the 9 cups of water a day, add 2 cups of tea in ur day and it will give you energy aswell!!!! XOXO

To voicesi or anyone that has been off of yasmin longer than 5 months:
Have any of you decided to get on anxiety medicine and if so what did you get on? I am really starting to get impatient on this healing process. I really wanted to try to get this stuff out of my system naturally but I am getting really sick of being sick. But I am also nervous to take medicine after seeing what this birth control has done to me. After 5 months am I still supposed to be this emotional and have anxiety? Just having a really lousy day and need some advice from some of you...Thanks to all who respond =)

I have been taking Singulair for almost a year for asthma. I visited my family physician and he prescribed it for me and also gave me an inhaler. It only helped a little bit. I found out that we had a mold/mildew problem in our house from a water leak. I moved there and having been living in a new place for 5 months. After the 1st couple months, the asthma did not clear up. I went to a allergist and they said it is from acid reflux and not asthma. I have been taking prevacid for a couple months. The breathing problem has starting clearing up. This week my doctor said to stop taking the singulair. I also just started seeing another doctor for my ADHD. This same week he put me on 10mg of adderall 2x a day. So far I have been feeling a lot better and not so depressive and impatient or angry as some put it. I also have been able to get up earlier and not always so tired. I quit my job and am starting a new in a couple days. Also, I put on a little weight & size since taking singulair. My waist and neck size expanded.
Maybe I am feeling better maybe because of the new meds and maybe because I stopped singulair and even getting a new job (i hated my other one). The thing I can't figure out is that after i stopped the singulair I had this pressure in my stomache area but it doesn't feel like it is in my stomach (it doesn't have the full feeling). It felt like this for a couple days. 4 days after I stopped it, my stomach area under my sternum swelled up. I could feel it as it was doing it and it bulged out a little. This happened within an hours time. I went to the hospital and they ran test and everything was ok.
They said to wait and see what happens or go get a laxitive to release my system because it was just gas. I didn't use the bathroom this day or the next. I took the laxitive. My system cleaned out today but my stomach area still doesn't feel right. Any ideas?

I posted on here a few days ago see (Sun, 21 Aug 2005 10:18:19 -0500 by Guest, #12792). I stopped taking Singulair. Today was my 3rd day off of it. I am fine during the day, but needed my Proventil inhaler one of the nights. I am starting to take Claritin before bedtime. Maybe that will help the nights. I wanted to comment on how different I feel since stopping the Singulair. The biggest change is in my temperament. I read somewhere that it would stay in my system for approx. 5 days, but I already feel different. I am not as angry, irritable or impatient. It is an extreme difference after only 3 days. I am also not as tired. The overall achey body feeling is gone, however, my fingers still hurt on one of my hands. I think that is starting to improve too. I just wanted to let everyone know that this drug really does affect your personality. Also, the strange vibrating sound from my chest/nose is gone. I'll see how it goes.

I posted on this forum last December...(see Mon, 20 Dec 2004 01:46:35 -0600 by Guest, #8483). This is a follow-up to that post. I have continued to take Singulair daily since then, despite reading the postings. I still feel the heaviness in my chest, especially at night, and a weird sort of buzzing/vibrating when I exhale that started when I first began the drug. I can't tell if it is coming from my chest or my nose. Also, my joints are very achy. I started to think I was getting arthritis in my fingers, but then remembered the side effects others were having on Singulair. In addition to the pain, I am lethargic, especially after I take the pill each night. There has been a marked change in my personality. I am angry, impatient and depressed. I used to be one of the most tolerant and patient people around. I have gained approx. 13 lbs. since December. I have also experienced multiple sinus and upper respiratory infections since being on the drug. In general, I just don't feel great. I feel much weaker, overall. I don't know what to do since the Singulair has had a huge positive effect in combating my allergies and asthma. It's a catch 22.

Like so many others on this page, I am so relieved to find this information. For the past few weeks, my wife and myself have been going through hell, as our lovable 6 year old boy has been getting into trouble at Summer Camp. He was prescribed Singulair a couple months ago, and since he has been taking it every night, he has been having bad nightmares, and has been really aggressive at camp, and at home. He has bitten a few kids, hit a few more, and yells at them at the top of his lungs. At home, he is depressed, very impatient, and will throw a temper tantrum at the drop of a hat. This is COMPLETLY NOT like him. We spoke with his ped. today, and he does not believe that the medication is causing the behavior change, but after reading this information, I believe that we will ween him off of Singulair, as a test to see if his mood changes. God bless everyone that experiencing the same problems, and someone needs to look deeper into this problem if the doctors continnue to say that it is not the medication.

I am a bipolar teen, who was put on seroquel back in the 8th grade. I did notice some weightgain, but mostly an extreme increase in breast size. I was 134lbs (5'8") with a D cup at 14 years old. For whatever reason, I was taken off seroquel in the summer of 2002. I lost 10lbs almost immediately. Several years and many alternative medications later, I was put back on seroquel. I've noticed no weightgain, but I am more impatient and physically aggressive. It helps with the manic hallucinations and the insomnia, as well as keeps me out of the depression cycle. I'm 17 now, and haven't had acne for years. I've noticed a small amount on my face lately and am wondering if it could be from this medication??

after three months of no side effects I suddenly began to feel my skin crawl, could not sit still, began shaking my foot, pacing, slight rocking, impatient attitude. I found out this was called "akathisia" . I began to smoke pot to calm me down as I was not able to contact my docter and that helped the growing depression and anxiety about the way my body was all of a sudden reacting. after 1 1/2 weeks it went away. I had decreased the amount I was taking from 60 mg day to 40 mg. maybe that's why it went away. the nervousness has dissapeared but now I am depressed and am going to ride it out because overall-geodone has been good. if it happens again I will ask my docter for something like valium .

I am so glad I looked up the side effects of this drug and that I'm not imagining things! I've also been taking Singulair and Zyrtec over the past two years for chronic hives and have gained a tremendous amount of weight. In addition, I have experienced trouble sleeping, terrible nightmares, daytime grogginess and am much more impatient than when I don't take the medication. I work out like crazy and never had a weight problem until I started taking this drug. No more!

I have been on Advair for about a year now. I am a very happy, polite, well mannered person at heart. Yet now, after taking Advair, I have been very moody. I feel like I am Bi-Polar!! My mood swings are very dramatic. Sometimes I have a very short fuse and I tend to lash out in angry fits. I have become very impatient and my heart feels like it is going a mile a minute. I told my doctor this, and he lowered my dosage to 100mg and I only take it once a day. I am still suffering the same symptoms. I am scared to go off of Advair for fear of being worse off then I was in the first place! I am having trouble sleeping every night and I have become extremely depressed. I feel like Advair is ruining my life. I have decided to get off of this stuff starting today. I just hope its not to late..

I started on 10mg. Lipitor two months ago. My cholesterol is way down, which is great. However, noticeable side effects are bothering me. Hair thinning and loss have been evident for the last month. Also feel distracted, agitated and impatient - feel as if I'm not myself or somehow outside myself. Woke up a few days ago and the room was spinning, like it does when one has had too much to drink. Couldn't get the dizziness to go away for several hours, even after getting up and slowly walking around and then forcing myself to go back to sleep. Very scary and I am worried it will happen again without warning. Bloated, heavy, flabby feeling, especially around my middle, although no actual weight gain. Any recommendations to counteract these side effects? Should I get off this statin?

I experienced drowziness and dizziness. I also had hot flashes and bouts of anger. I am a mother of a 4-1/2 month old baby and have never felt impatient towards him, but felt that way taking this stupid drug. I lost my car key, put out clothes for work the night before and forgot I did that, put my son's bottles in the freezer....and the list goes on. I was at the end stages of a sinus infection. All I needed was some freaking amoxicillin.

Yup, all of the above... I have been dizzy, restless at night, nausious, but like you have all said, the worst is the TASTE that is in your mouth all day and night, it tastes like a combination of grass and metal and it gets worse every time I cough (I am taking Biaxin for a very bad lung infection). I wake up in the middle of the night gagging and I have to run to the bathroom to basically drink mouthwash so that it will go away for an hour or so and give me some relief. It is disgusting and if it weren't for the fact that I NEED to get rid of this infection I would definitly stop taking it if only to just get rid of the taste in my mouth.
