Infarct symptoms and conditions

I have been taking Warfarin for 3 months after an Infarct Kidney. (blood clot in my kidney) was ordered to start taking Warfarin, within a week I started getting a very dry mouth like as if you would get after a good night of drinking! After about 2 months the dry mouth started to go away and is only slightly bothersome, however, now I am experiencing a light headed and a dizziness feeling, not to the point where I am gonna pass out, but very uncomfortable. I have a hard time concentrating, when I turn my head quickly to look or because I hear something is when I will experience a quick rush of dizziness. I have been taking about 7-9 mg per day depending on my INR level. Anyone have any ideas that could help me with this?

I was prescribed Yasmin for PCOS in 2002. I took it and never had any problems and it made the PCOS easier to live with. This was until 2005. I started having real bad pain in my left side, so I went to the emergency room. They did x-rays and blood work on me. They admitted me to the hospital. They told me I had an infarct spleen. I was in there for almost a full week. My medical doctor told me he thought it was caused from my birth control (I did not take any other meds) and he took me off of it. Well I was having a lot of trouble with my PCOS so I went back to my gyno and told them about being in the hospital and what my medical doctor said. My gyno said they never heard of such a thing and put me back on Yasmin. They said I needed to be on it because it had an ingredient I needed to help me deal with the PCOS. So I went back on it after being off of it for 3 months. Well in May of 2007 I ended up in the ER once again. This time I was having severe headaches. I had never had headaches in my entire life until now. They ordered an MRI and gave me miagrane medication. I had the MRI done and they admitted me to the hospital once again. I saw at least 5 different doctors while I was in there. The MRI showed I had suffered 3 mild strokes (the cause of headache) and the only conclusion they could come to was the birth control again. I have never smoked in my entire life but yet I still suffered from strokes. I now have to take medication for my blood pressure, aspirin for blood clots, and migrane meds daily because of Yasmin. Yasmin is a very dangerous birth control. I also had to have an endometrial abaltion since I can't take any type of birth control. I am only 29 years old and can no longer have children because of this drug. It is very dangerous, I hope if I do nothing else someone will read this and stop taking Yasmin before it is to late for them also!!!

I am writing for my mother who has been taking prednisone for the last 2-3 months. She was prescribed prednisone for kidney failure. Well I don't think I can possibly name all the side effects she has had but I will try. She has experienced the moon face, contracted diabetes, loss of muscle coordination, vision imparment, insomnia, loss of appetite, purple rashes throughout her body, muscle pain, fainting, and the latest which was the worst of all, she is in the hospital because the doctors are saying she had a mild infarct(heart attack) my mom is no longer the person I knew, I also have a feeling that the doctor who prescribed it to her, overdosed her with 6 pills a day, I feel he should have started her with a much lower dose. My mom never had any of the above problems before. If you are going through something similar you will be in my prayers.

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their posts because wihtout them, I would not be where I am today. I had been on Yasmin for 4 years and it has taken that long for me to notice that it has been destroying my life piece by piece. I had become severely depressed and had thoughts of suicide. I had numerous side effects including zero libido, dizziness, muscle weakness, panic attacks, anxiety, rapid heart rate, thirstiness, dry throat, eye twitches, massive hair loss, dry coughing in the middle of the night, crying for no reason, inability to cope with any kind of stress, scalp sensitivity, migraine headaches, and hopelessness. I was impossible to live with and nearly lost everything including my family. I'm happy to say that I've been off Yasmin for a month and a half and my outlook on life has dramatically improved. Most of my symptoms have subsided. I do occasionally have episodes of anxiety but they are less frequent. Stopping Yasmin has saved my life and my marriage. THIS A DANGEROUS PILL AND THE FDA NEEDS TO PULL IT OFF THE MARKET. I work in a hospital and cared for a 22 year old female who was taking Yasmin. She had massive pulmonary emboli with a pulmonary infarct and nearly died. There are so many other birth control pills and methods to choose from. There is hope after Yasmin and it only gets better. I'm living proof. I was able to get pregnant immediately after stopping Yasmin. Please don't wait until your life is ripped to shreds because of this pill. Just get off it after you complete your current pill pack. The road ahead will be challenging but it will be worth it. Make sure to drink plenty of water and take your vitamins. I highly recommend yoga during detox off Yasmin. I've seen a therapist and she told me that she "didn't buy" my Yasmin story. That's ok. I know the truth. Don't worry. This storm will pass.
