I am currently taking Levaquin for the first time; just finishing a one week course @ 500 m.g. / day. Had a bacterial infection on knee similiar to an insect sting (one hole). Not only cleared up but also helped with a undiagnosed condition in the lungs which has caused a chronic cough for at least five years now .... now gone. Never had any indication of side affects.

i received a kenalog injection also, about 1month following i noticed a large indentation in my buttocks at the site of inject. this worried my husband more than me but i decided to ask my dr., he said yes it was from injection and it may or may not go away, after about 12 mo. it was gone. i was given this injection to counteract rxn. to an insect sting and it helped me tremendously.

I too was given a generic brand of Septra for an infected insect sting. I experienced a noticeable loss in appetite for the full 7 days and on the first day off the medication, woke with a light red rash all over my arms, legs and abdomen. I'm not experiencing and itch or discomfort so I haven't tried any Benadryl of cortisone cream yet.
