Hi,
I read your post regarding side effects on the Mirena. I had mine in for about 9 months and started having some pregnant-like symptoms (could be more but i feel so fogged up now, can't remember much) and had it removed for 2 months now. However, I was also on orthotricycline pill at the same time with the Mirena for acne (must be the most stupid mistake ever). I got 2 light cycles after the removal of the mirena. Last 3-4 weeks, I have been very sick with insomnia, almost no sleep for the last 2 weeks. My left head hurts constantly. My left ear's pulsating constantly like I'm hearing my own heart beats. My blood pressure's up, a lot higher than usual. They did all kind of tests on me and off couse, all negative so far. We're waiting on an IRM now. I'm still on the orthotricycline pills. Could that be the reason I'm feeling sick like this? The last to periods were so light. However I had more PMS and lower back pain, thinking this period must be heavy but it's not. I feel like I don't menstruate enough. I'm so desperate. I'm with Kaiser and everything they do is so slow. I have no energy and enthusias for anything. It's affecting my memory too. Please help if you can.

I've been on Synthroid since November 2007. I've had several side effects that's been driving me crazy. From night sweats, trouble breathing, can't stand heat, mood swings, stomach pain, insomnia, and menstrual changes. The side effect that's having me worried is my menstrual cycle. I started my cycle Jan 5th and during this time, my doctor switch dosage. He started me out with 100 and now I'm on 50. I'm very petite and I knew 100 was too much for me when I weigh 110. I've been spotting since and today is Jan 19th. I told him about this and I asked him if the medicine caused this and he said no to contact my GYN. I never had this problem before and I've been so stressed about it. I told my nurse at home about and I did tell her that the thyroid specialist said it wasn't a side effect of Synthroid. Also, I told her that I did research and it did mention menstrual changes. So I have to meet with her next week. Am I the only one having this problem. I want to have children in the future and I'm worried.

I am a 33 year old female with two children. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in Sept 2001, two months after my wedding. My doctor treated the best he could without hurting my chances of having children. After my family was finished he suggested Lupron. We had several meetings and much material before I deceied to take Lupron. I had a choice try the shot or have a hysterectomy. I choose the shot. I had a sever fall right before taking the shot and had major concusion. So when I went to the doctor with problem the lupron shot was over look and things going on blamed on my fall. However 11 months later I have found out different. I started Lupron in Oct 2006 and had hot flashes and some mood swings but it was well worth it not to be in pain 24/7 with the endo. However I was having headaches and joint pain but it was blamed on my fall.
I had memory problem at work that keep me from doing my job properly however it was blamed on my fall. I am sure the fall had something to do with it but I know the Lupron did also. Now 11 months later I am learning different.
I have a microadmea in my pitubitary gland, 3mm tumor. It is not cancer. However I have learned my shot is to blame. Granted this is in 1% of patients who take the drug. I have had major memory problems, depression, anxitoy, nervousness, hot flashes, cold sweats, major headaches, joint pain, general pain, hair loss, insomia, heart paputations, tacardia, lack of skin tanning, mood swings, endmea, tingling in hands and feet, gi problems, brusing easily, and many more things.
The lupron did what it said it would about my endo pain. It went away.
Now because of what was learning about my reactions to the drug and add back therpy my doctor took me off everything. It is horrible. It can take a long time for the side effect to go away from taking the drug but you have side effects from getting off the drugs too. I am getting a double dose and feel as though I am loosing my mind. My 4 year old asked me something three or four time and the last time she asked mom you need to do something with your head and get it together I am tired of telling you the same thing over. I hate my family is sufferieng. I will hae a hysterectomy in late Oct or early Nov, I am just waiting for the meds to get out where my system will be clear.
I am ready for my life to be back to normal. I am hoping the memory problems and pain will clear up soon however from my readings it could take some time. I want to be able to take care of my family again and know I did it well.

I started taking Mobic 7.5 mg about a year ago like everyone else I'm having some of the same side effects. Skin rash on arms, knee pain that wasn't there, tired and groggy, insomia, and forgetful at times. I have had severe back pain for over two years. Diagnosis, osteoarthritis, osteporosis, degenrative disk disease. They can't even tell me for sure what is causing my pain. Insurance companies like to keep us sick and in pain. Want to do water exercises but there are not many facilities out there.

WELL I HAD AN OPERATION ON OCT 2006. THEY MUTILATED ME LIKE A COW. THEN I STARTED LUPON SHOTS FOR SIX MONTHS. BUT THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE THE WORTS ONE BECAUSE THE WEIGHT I GAINED, DEPRESSION, HIVES, EATING TOO MUCH, DRY SCALP, DRY SKIN, BLOATNESS, URINE INFECTIONS, INSOMIA, HEADACHES, NAUSEA, VOMITING, AND UPSET STOMACH. WELL IT WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERINCE NOT TO MENTION HOW EXPENSIVE THE SHOTS COME OUT. SO I FEEL ALL YOU GIRLS THAT HAVE GONE THROUGH THIS. HANG IN THERE.

I've had just about all of them in the last 6 months. I've taken Yasmin for 2 years. The first year was relatively symptom free. I even lost 15 pounds, that I've been able to keep off the entire time. I bragged about the RX to friends who may be interested and thought it was the miracle pill. I starting taking the pill about 2 years ago to regulate my period and ease PMS symptoms, which it did for over a year.
However, in the last few months, I've had the following symptoms and thought I was just premenopausal
Mood swings
Fogginess, loss of concentration
Not caring about anything
Totally unmotivated
severe stomach pains, cramps bloating
heart palpatations
bladder pain
night sweats
and the most bothersome of all insomia, so bad I started taking Ambien regularly to sleep, which has it's own set of side affects.
I just got off of Yasmin 4 days ago. So I'm now going through the crampting and bloating from doing that. I hope I get back to a semi-normal life style. I work full time and go to school and not being able to concentrate really stinks.

Instead it gave me a tinnitus (ringing in the ear) anxiety attack nervousness, panic, elevated blood pressure and insomia. This is the first time I ever had this feelings. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE unless you have to.

Also gave me the "stoned" affect during the peak of this drug. The after affects (which I'm currently in the state of) was a nose bleed, speeding (insomia, "jacked up" feeling), body fatigue, loss of appetite and short term memory loss (temporary inability to form sentence composure, forgetfulness).

I was prescribed the doxycycline hyclate 100mg twice daily for 21 days for lymes disease, I am on my 4th day, I had a hard time getting to sleep last night, I usually just fall to sleep in seconds. I am a 40 year sufferer of IBS "diarrhea", my worst time is usually in the morning, I noticed by the first day that my IBS symptoms were less severe and this morning I have been up for 4 hours and have not had to go yet.
I only negative side effect I have had so far is difficulty going to sleep, If it works to reduce or eliminate my IBS symptoms along with the lymes I can deal with the insomnia for a while.
I have been using probiotics for a while prior to starting on the doxy and the probiotics did seem to help with my IBS symptoms but not to this degree, I drink plenty of water with the doxy, so far I would have to say so good but it is early in the prescription so who knows, thank you to every one for posting your experiences with this drug
