After being treated for COPD, first with prednisone (some years ago) and with Advair subsequently, I have suffered waves of extreme fatigue and panic attacks. I don't know if it was the original prednisone treatment or the use of Advair. The dosage was reduced last year from 500/50 to 250/50, but the waves of attacks continue. I cannot attribute the condition to anything else. I am not on any other medications except Duoneb. I do not have high-blood pressure. I have developed a pad of fat on my abdomen, but am otherwise slender. Considering that I eat very little, I am probably overweight inspite of my weighing only 120 pounds. Has anyone else suffered with my problems following the use of Advair (or prednisone)?.

I've been taking Levaquin for about 3 weeks. Last week, suddenly, every joint in my body started aching. I mean from my neck, hands, hips, knees, ankles, feet, everything. For the past week, when I wake up, I can't even make a fist without experiencing excruciating pain. I've always been very active, running, basketball, soccer, skiing, you name it, so this is scaring the heck out of me. I'm 47 years old, and up until a week ago, I was hiking with my family, running everyday with my dog. Now I feel like I'm 100 years old. It hurts to walk, stand up, etc! I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow! I'm ticked about this!

I am 62 years old. I was put on Lipitor in early December 2007. I took it just before bedtime. Around 3:00am and until about 5:00 or 6:00am I experienced severe anxiety, mental confusion and suicidal thoughts. It felt as if I were having a psychotic break that was so intense I decided to commit myself to the psychiatric clinic where I live, in the morning. However, when I arose at 8:am, it was all over. I had no idea what had brought the thoughts and extreme emotion on. There were no events nor specific incidences which might trigger so strong a reaction. After three successive nights of this, I suspected the Lipitor and stopped taking it. The episodes stopped immediately and have not re-occurred. I took Lipitor for a total of 5 or 6 days.
Having read the postings on this site and a few others, I now suspect that my recent memory loss (actually its an inability to access certain words and names) started at precisely the same time. I am still struggling with the recovery of memory. In addition, I have experienced elbow muscle pain, fatigue and muscle weakness (hands and arms specifically) which started at the same time and also continues to this day, in spite of rigorous exercise. Whether this is related to Lipitor directly is hard to say for sure, but the timing is extremely suspect.

I have been on Warfarin since Sept 2004 when I had multiple blood clots in both lungs. Since then I have had two more PE's (one with a therapeutic INR) and a blood clot in my left arm (INR was also therapeutic). Genetic tests show nothing.

Since starting Warfarin I have had
- dizziness issues,
- eternal extreme fatigue
- hair loss
- short term memory and cognitive issues,
- joint pain and
- head aches all the time. I think the headaches are the worse since I can't take any NSAID's for them.

I have lost weight and push myself to exercise because it is supposed to make you feel better, right? Well not yet. I keep waiting.

I have not been able to return to work and worry about the long term implications of this.

Many times I have wondered about my sanity and if I was imagining all of this, so finding this forum at least lets me know that there is a possibility that it is not all in my mind.

I have been seeing a psychiatrist to help me work through the almost dying 3 times thing, but it is hard to accept since no one knows why I throw the clots. My INR is not stable in spite of close monitoring of Vit K and other drugs, and my INR must be taken twice a week.

I thought I was the only one feeling strange about this medication until I came upon this website that had more than 26 pages of blogs about this!!!! I used to take 25 MGS of Atenol-ol until I requested my Nurse Practioner to adjust my medications because I thought the medication was not helping me. Big mistake!!! I was asked to take Lisinopryl/HCTZ on Friday and immediately on Sunday, I started to develop skin rashes in my ears, neck and hands. It looked pretty much like a bad sunburn and it was itchy. That night I called the advise nurse and was asked to stop the medication. At first I thought that I was having allergic reaction to HCTZ because I had one in the past so when a new prescription was filled, they gave me only Lisinopryl 20 MGS. I decided to cut the medicine in half and would only take 10 MGS BUT inspite of this, the first 2 days I took it, I started having difficulty in breathing and it felt like someone was holding my heart. This experience brought me to the emergency room where I was checked and given an EKG which turned out normal. That day I was asked to visit my medical provider. I really thought my medication was going to be changed, but guess what, I was asked to CONTINUE taking Lisinopryl 10MGS with Atenol-ol 25 MGS because "Lisinopry is such a good medicine" according to my doctor. I followed her advise for only ONE DAY and my rashes persisted. On top of that, I started feeling my demeanor changing -- I was not as alert; I felt I have to make extra effort to do things in order to do it right and I keep on forgetting things which I don't usually do. I was really scared because I felt that my quality of life was being challenged! I saw this website and I found out I was NOT ALONE. Thanks to all of you bloggers I have STOPPED taking Lisinopryl and just went back to taking Atenol-ol like I used to with intentions of having another appointment with my Nurse Practioner to just raise the dose of the Atenol-ol because my body can take this medication. In the end it is OUR BODY and we should all listen to what it's saying to us! I am doing lifestyle changes now. By God's Grace I know that eventually I will overcome this! God Bless All of You!!!!

Only now after the break up of my marriage and the begining of a new relationship,do i realise that something was just not right, when my new man was saying exactly the same things as my ex...terriable mood swings, constant angry feelings, scarring acne , constant tiredness and general body aches and pains, sore breasts, a slow but steady weight gain of nearly 4 stones inspite weight watchers etc and depression. Was on seroxat for a time until i saw a programme that highlighted side effects of that and so have lived with depression for years. A visit to ER with heart palputations which i thought was a heart attack. Panix attacks....I dont know why i suddenly thought that the mirena might have something to do with all this, thought i was going crazy , especially after my husband left me ...i had it removed last week and already feel better. Lost 4Lb in 5 days. Today i feel a little tired but still pleased its out. There is too much thats happened to me in the last 5 years for this to be a coincidence. My gp had no hesitation on removing it ....its too early to tell what will happen, but already i feel more peaceful...

My husband took lisinopril for only two days and had to stop. His side effect symptons included headache, muscle and joint aches, fatique, insomnia, fever and chills, loss of appetite, and THE cough. All of these symptons were severe! It has been two days since he stopped taking lisinopril and he is still flat on his back. I am really amazed that this med ever passed FDA approval, and why any doctor would even prescribe it. I wonder if the docs prescribe it because you can get it at Wal-Mart and a local grocery store pharmacy for only $4.00 per month. Makes me think that the manufacture is trying to push this drug inspite of the horrible side effects by dropping the price, which the insurance companies really love.

High cholesterol. currently 56 y/o. been on lipitor a total of 4 years. put on lipitor 10 in the beginning. triglycerides doubled on this dose. changed to lipitor 20. cholesterol went down from 259 to 144. triglycerides came down to normal.

stated suffering the following symptoms within one month of going on lipitor. doctor has ignored my complaints of constant tiredness & weakness. i don't think he knows that lipitor can cause these side effects. i will be educating him on friday. when my triglycerides doubled again recently, he raised my lipitor to 40mg. i have only take it one month & stopped taking it yesterday. my symptoms are getting worse with the doubled dose. surely there is something else they can do to lower cholesterol.

(1) numbness & shooting pain in my right leg from hip to foot (was put on neutontin 600 three times per day)
(2) short-term memory loss. sometimes i just can't put a coherent thought together. sometimes i reach for a word & i just can't grab hold of it. i have felt like i was getting alzheimer's.
(3) bloating of the abdomen
(4) so hot at times i feel like my body thermostat is going haywire or i am going to spontaneously combust.
(5) muscle weakness in legs when walking, weakness/tremors in my hands when trying to hold something.
(6) pronounced changes in vision
(7) weight gain (especially at the abdomen)
(8) occasional dizziness combined with nausea
(9) alternating constipation & diahrrea
(10) total and complete exhaustion
(11) severe depression (treated with zoloft 100)

thyroid was checked. everything a-ok (although i still believe i could be having some thyroid issues inspite of those normal readings).

For years, I suffered from terrible allergies. Constant sinus drainage, watery eyes, itchy eyes, headaches, (I should have been able to lose wt. because of the amount of fluid running out of my body!!!) I dreaded Spring because I was miserable for months!! My doctor recommended I try Kenalog. After about 24 hrs., I could breath, my nose stopped running, my eyes didn't itch and water. I've had absolutely no problems, at all, with the shot. I get 1 shot a year and manage the fall with antihistamines... No side effects, no dents, nothing. It's the only thing I've found that works. After my original doctor retired, I went with a younger, "smarter" doctor who refused to administer the shot, inspite of my history of success with the medication. They wanted me to take inhaled steroids, instead. I've finally found a family practice that will give me the once a year injection. It works, I don't abuse it, it's given in small amounts and I love the fact I feel great after the allergies clear up!
