I think all of you folks with side affects are are blaming your ills on Lipitor rather than putting the blame where it belongs: on your own mental health. I am a 65 YO male and I have been on Lipitor for more than six years now. I have no side affects, I work out four days per week with cardio and weights and feel that Lipitor should be added to the public water supply. My total cholesterol has gone from the high two hundreds to under one-forty on a single daily dose of 10mg. All of you hypochondriacs get a grip.

Hi gypsi!
great to hear from u again! I agree, please no insults here. Maybe there is an anger management site somewhere.
Anyway, moodiness does happen with pred. and sometimes it's hard to control but it CAN be controlled. It's not been easy for me at times. While I was on pred. I didn't get mad or angry. With the withdrawal it was really rough because everything upset me. I was so used to being on pred. I'm all thru that now. Thank the Lord! You have friends here if u want them, if not, well see ya. lol What ever happened to jules777? I hope gypsi u r doing better. Trailblazen

NO NEED FOR INSULTS HERE! YOU MIGHT HAVE INTERPRETED WHAT BRONCHITIS27 SAID IN A NEGATIVE WAY. I PERSONALLY THINK HE TRIED TO MOTIVATE US BY SAYING IF WE THINK POSITIVELY, WE'LL RECUPARATE FASTER...AND YES, MANY TIMES IT'S ALL ABOUT THE WAY WE LOOK AT THINGS AND YOU JUST SEEM TO BE HAVING SOME BAD ATTITUDE...YOU DON'T NEED TO CALL ANYBODY "STUPID," DID YOU EVEN BOTHER READING HIS STORY? LEARN FROM HERE AND DON'T FOCUS ON THE BAD....LEARN TO BE NICE!

so now u keep correcting yourself jules hmmmmmm
sounds like u need to stop YOUR insults of others and just accept the fact that the rest of us are suffering and need to talk about it to each other. DO NOT CRITISIZE ANYONE ELSE FOR WHAT THEY SAY. U STARTED THE WHOLE THING ABOUT THE PLACEBO CRAP. Now on to important issues like being there to encourage others. That's what this is for, not to judge. Although jules, sounds like u need to go back to the other planet u were on before We r not your friends until u become a friend to us Pred. affects everyone differently and that's what we are sharing

To my fan fare;

"U have to be an idiot to write things like that to people like us who r really suffering because of pred. Obviously u have found the wrong website. Now go find yourself a SHRINK."
Thank you, blatent insults obviously show superior
intelligence and mental stability.
Far be it that anyone post a question or point of view based on their own experiences or independent thought that just might not "follow the crowd" so to speak.
ericgoberman,
"So Jules, 5 mg a day for a few weks and you're the expert ?"
Just so you know, I have taken as much as 60 mgs a day off and on throughout my life.
My daughter was on life support for almost a month due to asthma/pneumonia and was given 500mgs of prednisone a day.
I have sincere gratitude to prednisone for helping her survive.
And most importantly, psychosomatic DOES NOT MEAN IMAGINARY!!!
"Psychosomatic denotes a PHYSICAL DISORDER that is caused by or notably influenced by the emotional state of the patient. The word "psycho" comes from the Greek meaning breath, spirit, soul, mind. "Somatic" refers to the body, or "soma" in Greek, referring to the physical."
Soma in biology refers to the body of an organism.
To all those suffering from the horrific side-effects and those that were offended, I sincerely apologize. I should have re-worded my post.
Where I was coming from;
I could literally post hundreds of studies that show the reality of the power of mind and the power of suggestion alone on the side-effects, healing, and survival of hundreds of people.
During my 3rd year in Pre-med, many of us students started having chest pains, arrythmia's, perfuse sweating etc....guess what we were studying at the time????
While I applaud reassuring others that they are not alone in their side-effects and suffering, I personally feel that there might be certain individuals, like me, that are just starting their drug therapy that might be terrified or dissuaded in taking it because of some of the posts here. (I had a terrible time even swallowing my whopping 5 mgs.)
And yes, I even personally believe, and I repeat, PERSONALLY believe that reading about terrible side-effects of any drug can trigger the placebo effect, or side-effects that can be psychosomatic.
ALL DRUGS HAVE SIDE-EFFECTS!
For me; What it all boils down to is; the risks of any drug versus the benefits....ie...chemo has terrible side-effects, but what are the profound effects of the disease without it??????

I work in a health care system and we have used levaquin for this last cough, cold and flu season. It has worked wonders for the various upper respiratory infections.
No one has developed rashes, boils, or bone/muscle pain. After reading the first response, her abnormal reaction sounds more like a bad case of shingles.
Then, I read the last post where the person drank two glasses of whine to help with the blah blah blah. Mixing alcohol with any type of medication will not help with Your sypmtoms were a "full fledged panic attack" as you stated from the beginning.
Nothing but idiots posting here!
