During the three weeks I was using 150 mg. Wellbutrin, ringing in the ears gradually increased, mild headaches on top of my head, occasional light spasms around my mouth, constipation, and bladder problems. My sleep was unaffected, and my depression did not lift. My dose was increased to 300 mg, and by the fourth day, I was having serious facial spasms, intense headaches, louder and constant ringing in the ears, almost 'round-the-clock wakefulness, anxiety, difficulty thinking and completing sentences, pounding heart, amplification of sounds, jitters and quaking. I felt like a car, perpetually idling so roughly that all my parts were about to rattle right off the chassis. On the fifth day I took nothing. I've had some chills, a little nausea, headache, neck-ache (Isn't that weird?!) and some ringing, but at a lower volume that's hardly noticeable. This is the fourth day with no Wellbutrin, and I haven't had facial spasms at all in the past couple of days, have less nausea, and the very funky smell produced in my urine from the second week I was on the meds has calmed down. If I'm still in a depression it's been overshadowed by the most awful side effects I could have imagined. It felt like the spector of death was overtaking my body by day four of that 300 mg. dose. I had been on a hefty dose of Zoloft daily for almost ten years and never experienced anything unpleasant other than weight gain, my reason for trying to switch meds because I couldn't quit putting on weight no matter what. I am going to try SAM-e, and suggest that anyone looking for a natural alternative, with the prospect of few and insignificant side effects, do an online search. Whether I find success with the SAM-e, or if it falls short of what I need, I'll post here to let you know what happens. A month ago I thought the depression was the end of the world; I think the cure was worse than the disease.

I have been taking the same dosage of budeprion for about 18months. About a month ago, I decided to give it a go and attempt to start the weaning process by reducing my dosage just a bit. Within a few days, my mood was nasty and I was having intense headaches. I switched back to the same dosage I had been on prior to that and thankfully the headaches subsided. That was about 3 weeks ago.

Here's the problem: I have still been experiencing the same headaches only not as intense. I am positive it is the meds because I'm fine up until I take it and I've tested this several times. Between my doc and the pharmacist, we haven't been able to figure out the culprit. The manufacturer and all the specifics about batches of pills are the same. At this point, I am going to try another manufacturer because my doc has no idea what else to do. Anyone else experience this?

I am 21yrs old and I have never taken BC pills. My doctor recommended Yasmin over a year ago but it has been only two weeks since I've started using it and i've gotten really bad side effects.Immediately i noticed red spots in my eyes, intense headaches, irritability, short breath and feeling quite drowsy. In addition i had very clear skin and now i'm noticing that i'm breaking out on my face, especially my forehead.

I've decided to continue using it until the end of the month and if there isn't any changes i'll stop it completely. GREAT WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive recently started taking zoloft for anxiety..just started on the 50 mg today after 4 days of 25 mg. The first two days were awful for me...intense headaches, feeling sick, nausea, tired, constant yawning, jaw ache from clenching and grinding my teeth. This is my 5th day and i am restless, i cant focus on study and keep putting it off. I am so tired i feel i could sleep through the entire week. my vision is slightly blurry...but not so bad i cant see the computer screen, however my typing is really bad...that may be due to the restlessness and agitation.
I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow, even if it's only been 5 days im not too sure why zoloft was prescribed for me when its more for depression and social anxiety. Today in the car i felt really panicky, and i thought i could just fall asleep at the wheel or have a heart attack because my heart beat has felt even faster than before. If these side effects go away in a few weeks and i can be reassured i will start to feel better and happier and less anxious then i will continue them. However my university assignments are going to be really poor.

I am very skeptical of all of the claims I have read here. I am no advocate of GSK or any other drug company for that matter, but I think people are getting carried away with attributing their symptoms to Advair. The known side-effects are readily available, anything else is purely based on assumption. I agree that Advair may in fact have many more possible adverse effects than they let the public know, but let us be careful about making ourselves little scientific researchers and concluding a causal relationship based upon a single case study (and an informal one at that). Talk to your doctor about trying something with less risk, such as Singulair, Azmacort, Intall, Fluticasone Propionate, etc. Please though, be careful not to be so quick to claim generalizable findings based on your specific case. I myself am going to work with my physician to attempt a gluten-free diet and a less invasive medication therapy. Advair is not habit-forming or addictive, so withdrawals are doubtful at best. Read up on the pharmacology of Advair (salmeterol in particular), and you can come to your own conclusions. Best wishes to all of you fellow asthmatics!

I had taken Loestrin for almost a year until about two months ago when I decided to quit. I suspected that this birth control had something to do with my intense headaches, weight gain (I was a size 4 now I wear a 10), and a non-existent period. I also have eczema now and I think it might be related as well. Let me know if anyone else has encountered this problem. Since I have quit, I have noticed my eczema has improved and my face is not as puffy. I hope it will improve even more with time off from this drug.

I have been on Yasmin for a week now and I can definitely see the changes. Mostly in my mood, I am usually a pretty laid-back, happy person and with this pill I have been short-tempered and super tired. I also have been having random, intense headaches and I usually never have an issue with headaches. I was using NuvaRing before and it was fabulous (so easy and the only possible side effect I had was a week of gastroenteritis, but that could have been from a meal I ate). I switched to Yasmin to clear up my skin, but I have not really noticed a positive or negative in that respect. I've stopped taking Yasmin and I am going back to NuvaRing!

I've had the Mirena in for about 7 months just after my second child.... I haven't stopped spotting/bleeding since.... Its horrible. I have had the most intense headaches, to a point where I feel I cannot function. The pain so bad... It has almost dropped me to the floor.
I am constantly struggling to focus. I cry all the time. Yet have a void of emotion. I am struggling to enjoy the simple pleasures I used to enjoy. My libido...... well what can I say...... I have none....!! at first it was just an effort for my partner to begin intercourse with me.... and I would soon enough begin to enjoy it.... But lately I'm finding it hard to enjoy it at all.
I feel disgusting most of the time.... I have had odor problems... and then there's the constant bleeding!!
I feel unattractive! I feel bloated.
And I am about to start seeing a bowen therapist to help me with my structure. The joints in my sternum keep cracking.... and until I read all of this site... I didn't even begin to think that it could possibly be related.....!!!
I have also had serious suicidal thoughts.
I WANT THIS THING OUT!!!

I just wanted to add my experience for everyone looking just like me. I started using the Nuva Ring after having a scare with the pill in November. For a while I felt pretty good but I think thing are getting progressively worse. I've had extremely intense headaches at least once a month that are completely debilitating. I have also started having intense emotional swings every month since i've been on the pill. I just changed jobs recently and thought that a lot of my moods were due to that but now I'm realizing that the mood swings start 1-1 1/2 weeks before my period is supposed to start, lasting until my period is done. During the rest of the month I feel relatively normal. The mood swings include everything from spur of the moment crying, to anxiousness, to anger, apathy etc. I've been thinking that the ring was why but I really hadn't been sure until I started reading other people's experiences. I did experience itching although not every month, and more during the 1st week of having it in. I did not experience breakthrough bleeding. Also, I have experienced a delayed period every month, (taking it out Sun. and not bleeding till Thurs.). I would appreciate any feedback from anyone on here with opinions or experiences. Thanks!

I took this medicine only twice, and both times suffered the most intense headaches I have ever had - what I would imagine a migrane might feel. I was also incredibly hyper and agitated from the medicine - I will NEVER take this again...

I am a paediatrician in private practice. I recently put an 8yr old boy with moderte to severe asthma on singulair. He is also epileptic and is on lamictin. After starting the singulair he experienced intense headaches, dizziness and blurred vision.
The headches were associated with vomiting. I have subsequently stopped the singulair but was really surprised by these side effects. Could it be related to his epilepsy? I have been using singulair for many years but this is the first case that I have seen with these side effects.

Hi,

Just checking in after a long time... I was on Yasmin for 8 months, and have been off of it for 6 months now.

Still battling 2 side effects that I know of - heart racing episodes and heart palpitations. I used to be "prone" to heart racing episodes, if you can say that, meaning that I have had 0 - 3 episodes per year since my teens (I am 40 years old currently.) While on Yasmin, I had them a couple of times per month, including one the last week I was on the medication that lasted 2 1/2 hours (!) I am still having them since being on Yasmin at approximately the same frequency. I have never had heart palpitations before Yasmin, but do continue to have them now fairly frequently even though I have been off Yasmin for 6 months now. I would like to hear from other women dealing with heart racing episodes/palps, especially how long it is taking for them to go away. I don't know what my blood pressure is or has been, but I hope to find that out among other things at a complete physical in a couple of weeks.

Other worrisome side effects went away very quickly after quitting Yasmin: general exhaustion, sleepless nights owing to having to get up 5 times per night to go #1, missing libido, daily intense headaches, depression, tired legs, episodes of blurry vision, other vision problems, massive hair loss, you name it.

This past weekend, I got my very long hair cut for the first time in a year. The hairdresser found many patches and areas of hair on my head that were all the same 3" long. She was able to show me a 3" long bunch on the back of my head with the hand mirror, and it was very shocking to see. She confirmed this corresponded to about 6 months of growth, which matched up with about the same time I quit Yasmin. My hair loss accellerated and got worse over time from when I started the pill, so that by the time I quit, I was estimating losing about 250 hairs every shampoo. Apparently my hair loss was not all over while on the pill, but in patches here and there on my scalp. A very disturbing physical reminder of how Yasmin affected me, but I was encouraged to see that it appears my hair started growing back in force as soon as I quit taking the pill, which I hope will provide some encouragement for any of you dealing with recovery from hair loss.

Thanks to all for sharing and providing side effect recovery updates.

I get intense headaches and neck aches when I take Adderallxr and Adderall (i have tried both). when i stop taking it, after 2-3 days the head aches are gone, and the neck aches greatly diminished. However, I also take Isosorbide - a long acting nitrate like nitro glycerine. I have discovered that the two probably interact. if i stop the isosorbide, the headaches and neckaches are at a much lower level. I have found that relaxation techniquies help lower the neck pain and headaches also. I suspect that Adderallxr makes one more susceptible to anxiety (of which i have a lot right now due to challenges in job).

I also have trouble sleeping. I will try orange juice an hour before I go to bed to see if that helps.

When i get the dose right, Adderallxr is great. I am much more focused, calmer, and get a lot more priority things done. I wish I had known about ADD 40 years ago. I will somehow figure out the right dose and how to diminish the side affects. The benefits are too good for me to quit taking Adderallxr.
