I'm fed up. About 4 years ago I had a complete thyroidectomy and OMG my life has been a mess ever since, Yes, I needed the gland removed (it was a goiter pressing on my air way and esophagus), it needed to come out but OMG what a nightmare. Synthroid is a drug I can't figure out. I am convinced that this has ruined my life. I have developed chronic/non-stop head pain and pressure. My B.P. has gone up and now I'm on B.P. medicine. (still have severe head pain). It just never leaves me. E.R. visits/hospital stays and on and on. They treat me like I'm a complete lunatic because they can't seem to find anything organically wrong with me. Ummm-it hurts(my head). I am starting with a new Doctor who is a D.O. rather than an M.D. and I am praying that he finds what the **** is causing my pain. I feel like crap. The T.S.H. is in normal range but I have learned that the T.S.H. is not everything (even though my thyroid is gone). The isiots for lack od better description, are just too lazy to go the extra minute to find out what is wrong here. I just want to be able to function and this head pain will not let me do that. It is a nightmare and I have nothing but sympathy and empathy for anyone who suffers with pain on a daily basis.
The only constant is the Synthroid. Maybe I can't take this stuff. It has to be that my body just can't tolerate it and need something else or T3 added (I don't know). I just pray that this new doc can figure it out because I feel so helpless with this. My pain is always there squeezing and pressing. It is horrible. Maybe Synthroid is the culprit. Good luck to everyone.

I started on the 27th of April and by the 29th I had burning in my back and severe pain. I then got chest pain and tingly in my arm. Over the next few days, I got anexity, the depression, confusion, poor judgment, depth perception problems, muscle spasms and almost wrecked my car.
I had memory problems, irritable, uneasiness feeling, etc.
I then had problem with my hip and I am only 35!!! I can't pick up my baby without feeling faint.
Today my eyes started yellowing.
I reported all this to the FDA MEDWATCH and to BAYER the makers of it. Maybe if everyone did this, they would see there is more of a need to help others. PLEASE do the same. A quick internet search would help you find what your looking for.

I'm so happy I found this site!!!!! I have had weight gain like crazy, spotting, and long heavy periods after I was put on this pill. Not to mention terrible migraines and abdominal discomfort. I too was on seasonal for a few years and was switched to this awful medicine. Yesterday I finally had enough of the weight gain (25 pounds all together!) and decided to go off my birth control. I thought I would do an internet search on this product to see what I could find. Looks like I should have done this months ago!

i took cipro for a UTI over 10 years ago and have had floaters, neuropathy, tingling, and numbness in my hands and feet ever since then. it was not until THIS YEAR that i stumbled upon information on the internet about CIPRO and its side effects. but immediately following my use of the drug i went to a doctor who insisted i had carpal tunnel and i asked then why is it in my feet? then a neurologist who found nothing and patted me on my little college girl head, told me it was "just stress," and prescribed me narcotics to calm me down. i threw the prescription in the garbage on the way out of his office... then was tested for diabetes and briefly thought i might have MS. eventually, after many docs finding nothing and my family thinking i was a total hypochondriac, i just decided to ignore the symptoms. pain in my joints, floaters in my eyes, numbness and tingling in my hands and feet. after years i figured if i wasn't dying from whatever it was and it wasn't getting any worse, then i would just live with it. one day when it was particularly uncomfortable i did an internet search and came up with CIPRO info. there was a class action law suit at one time because right around the time i took CIPRO, it was a new drug and had not been sufficiently clinically tested. there's no recourse for me now, but i feel better having solved the mystery.
i am appalled to see so many people still suffering in 2008 and this drug still being prescribed. i'm sorry you're all going through this. i tell everyone i know not to ever take this drug. i feel lucky to be still functioning. i am very healthy, just have the annoyance of these symptoms that never go away.

Hello I had mine inserted yesterday...28 mom of two boys 7 and 4. I lost my pamplet and decided to do an internet search to keep an eye on the symptoms they say to watch out for. I have to say that this information is a little scary. Now my dr. didn't push this on me... I asked for it cause Im just not good at taking the pill and the patch and ring aren't covered by my insurance. I will now keep close watch on my weight (trying to lose weight already so that wont be hard) my periods have never been regular, so that wouldn't be anything new. I have some PMS issues already so I'll make sure to watch for the mood swings, I have some semi-world meltdowns every month without using birth control. I thought that hormones would help with that. As far as my sex drive, well lordy pray I don't have that problem cause I'm almost always the aggressor...daily. ;) So the insertion was not really bad a bit longer than a pap smear but the dr. and nurses and I were joking the whole time. I appreciate all the women who have posted here, I hope that you get healthy and happy. You have opened my eyes and I will watch for these things and have it removed right away if I experience them.

I took Lisinopril for over 9 months. In that time I lost a lot of weight, vomited up to 15 times a day, had a persistent dry cough and headache. My GP had no answers for me, sent me to specialists, etc. None of the medical professionals at that point could tell me what the cause was. ( I went from 200 pounds to 145 pounds, due to not being able to keep food or beverages down.) My teeth are permanently etched from stomach acid. I developed all sorts of other problems due to improper nourishment. During this time I had a total knee replacement.. thank goodness I had no complications due to the lack of being able to keep food down.
My husband did an internet search on my blood pressure med ( lisinopril) and found this was a common side effect. I immediately made an appointment with my GP, who was away and another Doctor was standing in for him. She listened to my symptoms and said it was the lisinopril and to stop taking it immediately and prescribed something else. Within a week the cough and projectile vomiting was completely gone!
What is the matter with the medical team? Why didn't one of them clue into this?
Can't this droop be taken off the market or come with a warning on the pharmacy label?

42 Year old male; Active, have been on Lipitor 9 months. Started back on the drug last spring, Ride wave runners every weekend, thought I've had whiplash for months, extremely sore/stiff neck, severe muscle pain in shoulders and neck I am convinced its Lipitor not whiplash. Only advice my doctor can give is "see a Chiropractor", no help! I am stopping Lipitor right now and will await changes, Cannot believe after multiple visits to my doctor concerning my shoulder/neck issue he never once considered Lipitor. After doing an internet search for muscle pain, I stumbled across Lipitor's relationship to muscle pain. If my pain stops I will be very grateful.

I took Levaquin 500 mg for 6 days. After about 3 days my left ankle, knee, and the back side of my left thigh became so sore I had difficulty walking. I was extremely tired and slept later than I normally do, which is rare for me. This morning, in bed, my left thigh became so hot it felt like it was wrapped in a heating pad with the temperature turned up extremely high. Later, while getting a shower, I noticed the back of my left thigh had a "hivey" type of red rash on it. I did an internet search and found this page. I'm very concerned because in September 2007 I had a triple heart bypass. I threw the remainder of the Levaquin down the toilet. NEVER AGAIN....

read the label on yr prescription bottle, it should say STAY OUT OF THE SUN!!! You are hyper-sensitive to sunlight/ artificial UV/ sunlamps while taking it.
do a internet search for: doxycycline "side effects"
seriously, there are specific instructions regarding these side effects. be sure to read instructions & listen to yr doctor/ pharmacist with any medication.

My 3 year old son was prescribed Singulair two weeks ago. He has an unexplained bout of diarrhea, he has been having regular screaming melt downs, irrational fears of random things such as bathtub water, the cat, the doorknob etc.
He became very aggressive and inconsolable at pre-school the other day and I had to come remove him. The teachers were astounded because he has never had that type of behavior and were very concerned. I called the doctor immediately and had my husband do an internet search on Singulair side affects as I drove to the doctor's office.
He will not take this medication ever again. The doctor said she had never seen side affects to this medication. But she said that since his new behavior coincided with taking the medication she switched him to albuteral.
Please be careful with all medication. I have found that many doctors have absolutely no clue about alot of things.

It has been two months since my ten day prescription of doxy was finished and I just came home from the er ( for the seventh time) having to be given morphine for the pain. I have never felt this bad in my life. It was prescribed for bronchitis. I am still vomiting and unable to eat. I have lost over twenty pounds in this time. I have lost my job and unable to take care of my kids. I have to go to the doctor every seven days for complete lab tests to make sure it has not started effecting my liver. After a internet search, I found out this drug should not have past to the public, and there are lawsuits out from liver failure to death. NEVER take this drug, my family and I are praying that I recover.

I found this site just by doing an internet search on this drug because I have been feeling very tired. I could not believe all the other side effects I have been having that other people have described, I had no idea it was the Lisinopril! I have had a bad cough for over a month. Headaches and body aches. I have stopped taking it. I also have difficulty breathing. I just hope that I get back to normal soon. Thanks so much for all of your postings.

BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS CAUSED BY SINGULAIR.
Our 7-year old daughter has been taking Zyrtec, as needed, for her allergies since the spring of 2005 without side effects. That summer, our allergist recommended she add Singulair. She took it for a short while w/o noticible side effects that we can remember. This spring our doctor prescribed it for her again, along with Zyrtec. We gave her the medicine regularly, not expecting side effects as she has done well with other medicines.
Normally, our daugher is a very happy child. Friends often comment on her ready smile and good disposition. This spring, however, she exhibited uncontrollable anger spells about very small things. She would become upset about something small, and then her anger would build, causing a temper tantrum which lasted hours. As parents, we were very concerned and disturbed by her behavior. We were about to seek professional counseling because we tried many different ways to help her without success. Around this time (late spring), a friend told me about a child she knew who experienced behavior problems while taking Singulair. My husband did a quick Internet search, finding many other similar personal testimonies. As a test, we immediately took her off the medicine, especially because we weren't convinced that it helped with her allergies anyway. After a few weeks passed, our daughter's behavior changed dramatically. She has not had one temper tantrum in three months! My husband and I felt like we got our happy, little girl back! We are absolutley convinced that Singulair caused her behavior problems. If your child or you are taking Singulair and feeling/behaving abnormal, please consider finding an alternative medication. I am sure Singulair doesn't affect all people in this way, but Merck needs to recognize this side effect! Today, I tried to inform them by email about our problems, but their website referred me to my physician (who already knows). Why don't they want direct feedback from their consumers???

I was literally in tears when I found this site and read all of your posts. It was as if I was reading something I HAD WRITTEN. Having just returned from getting a CT scan of my head, I started researching "causes of severe headaches not related to migraines" and lo and behold this site popped up in my search. What caught my attention was the word "Mirena". Up until today I had never even considered that all of the issues I have been having since the birth of my daughter in August 2008, were in any way related to Mirena. When my daughter was about 2 months old (after my 8 week check up and insertion of the implant) I became extremely moody, sad, social anxiety kicked in, I cried for no reason, had no desire to talk to anyone, not even my husband - VERY unlike my personality. After talking to my doctor it was determined I had post partum depression so I was prescribed zoloft. Didn't work. Was still irritable and lethargic but maternity leave was up so I went back to work. I was exhausted, couldn't process my thoughts, was constantly dizzy and had blurred vision and it was all attributed to the "baby schedule (nightly feedings, no solid sleep, adjusting to schedule, etc.). My mood swings were out of control and it got to the point that I even through a knive (albeit a butter knife) at my husband. I began seeing a psychiatrist who determined I had mild bipolar disorder so he put me on medication for that. It has helped some but still doesn't control my crying spells or occasional outbursts. Recently I was so dizzy that I saw my ENT doctor who said I had vertigo. I was prescribed something for that. Still, I am dizzy and feel off balance. Most recently, I have had severe, severe, severe headaches and though there is a great possibility it is a viral issue, I was ordered to have blood drawn and to obtain a CT scan. Nothing much revealed so we set an appointment to see an neurologist next week. So, because of the worry over it, I started doing an internet search and her I am. Reading these posts brought on an overwhelming sadness because my poor family has had to endure my wrath for past 12 months. I am so angry that I didn't see this sooner and moreso that their !@#@#$% side effects didn't list ANY OF THESE discussed here. Additionally, my hair has been falling out in clumps and I can't seem to lose weight despite my 1500 calorie diet and exercise.
