My daughter has had seizures for 20 years. She was on Depakote and Tegretol for about 15 years. We switched neurologists because of the continued seizures and involuntary movements that made her fall. She is now on lamictal (300mg) and topamax . Her seizures seem better, although she still makes the movements. But what is very different is her speech. She is speaking very nasally to the point I almost can't understand her and she repeats her sell constantly. Going to the neurologist next week.

I've been on neurontin for about 3 years. I take 2400mg per
I have all of the ill effects mentioned above plus one more. My vision is impaired 40 % worse than when I first started this medication. I would have to say that I too am very frustated with this medication now. I have short term memory loss, weight gain, chest pain, constipation, swollen extremities, no sex drive, headaches, excessive feelling of euporia, depressed, and much more. The one thing I can say is that it did help the problem for which I was prescribed. Chronic neck pain/spasms. Go figure!

I have the sour mouth, involuntary movements (hands, arms jerking) but the most troublesome and dangerous is the falling asleep without warning, anywhere and anytime. I have missed work because I crashed out in the staff lounge and couldn't get back to "alertness," and the worst is that big chunks of my days are GONE. Just GONE. It's as though I blank out and erase whatever part of the day is happening when the wave hits me. Some memories come back, slowly, and luckily I have patient friends who help me bring some memories back. I am Bipolar I, rapid cycling with mixed states thrown in. Lots of hallucinations, mostly auditory.
