Three and a half years ago i suffered a heart attack, i had three stents put in and was put on Aspirin 75mg, Cardicor, 1.25mg, Tritace 5mg and Lipitor 80mg. I was fairly fit at the time, didn't drink or smoke and ate properly.

But now i'm suffering, i've been to the hospital and my GP, but are told there is nothing wrong, my hear tis good. So why am i suffering with light headedness, pains through my body, back, neck, chest, stomach. So much so i thought i had gall stones or kidney stones. My right knee can't be touched, it is so sore. Chest heaviness, eyesight getting worse, slurred speech, depression i could go on.

I've said this to my doctor, he just brushes it off and says i'm on them for life, ....apparently standard treatment for anyone who's had a heart attack. I walk 5 miles a day, eat 5 or more fruit and veg, don't smoke or drink, do all what i'm meant to. My cholesterol is really low, but so is the HDL too. I was never recommended CoQ10 or a vitamin B complex.

It was my mother who told me to research the side effects of all the meds i'm on. I agree, we all want to live a long and healthy life, but at what cost. I am now of the opinion that doctor's are so use to thinking they are near god like, they have forgotten that we are individuals, that we know our own bodies. I'm sick of the fact that the large pharmaceutical companies send out there sales reps to doctor's surgeries and that is what is deciding what the patients end up taking and not the patient's problem.

DOCTOR'S WAKE UP TREAT THE CAUSE NOT THE SYMPTOMS!!!!!!!

Concerned citizen!!!
Just had to share the news! 3 months after stopping singulair and taking omega 3 (for last 3 months) has resulted in my 6yrs olds cholesterol going down from 236 to 202! Absolutely no diet change, in fact he has been eating worse due to throat condition/tonsils. Makes me go HMMMMM!!!

Checking in again. Been off the lipitor 3 weeks now. It feels good to feel better. I feel my old self coming back. I laugh sometimes. HOORAH!!! Pain in my legs 50% gone. Hips still troubling. Legs are still weak. I don't know if its from not using them much over the past 8 mo. or the poison lipitor. Still sapping life forces from my body. My life is a wreck . I can tell life is starting to get better. The only thing different, is off the lipitor. Lets get this stuff off the market. It is debilitating, painful, causes depression, to the point you are thought of as lazy, unmotivated. The pain and ache is all you can muster to deal with on a day to day basis. it is indescribable agony. I want to kick something. For the months that I have lost of happiness. Something has got to be done. There was a move awhile back to sell this stuff over the counter. What will they think of next. I am just thankful that I am feeling better. moonman

Hi neverybody,
I was on day 4 of this antibiotic for sinusitis when I woke with severe neck stiffness, (unable to do chin to chest). This progressed to headache and I remembered then that I had pain in my eye the night before. I also had profound sleepiness on night 4. I work nights and this was affecting my judgement. I felt very low on night four and emotionally labile.crying came easy but for no real reason.
My shoulders are sore and my neck still aches but it is not as bad. i did not contact dr. Should I? I stopped before finishing the course on day 5.

Good luck to everyone and I hope your are all well soon,
Lou ,

Hi everybody,
Flowerbabies, good work on finding that site. I will connect in a few minutes and fill in the details. I live in ireland but will fill it in anyway. In the meantime i will see if there is an irish equivalent of that site. As you said the more we can all do to make the side effects of this pill known the better.
Everyday i connect to this site and find that more and more women are complaining of common symptoms.
It cannot be coincidence.
A note for poster yasminresearcher. While i was on yasmin i was almost blind. My eyesight had got so bad. I am off yasmin now for about 8 months and my eyesight is perfect.
Certainly it had a bad effect on my eyesight. Cannot explain it, just another one of the side effects.
Greetings to everybody

hey everyone,
i haven't looked at this site since a few weeks after coming off yasmin last year. i'm always amazed how many thousands of women write in-- probably thousands more than this horrible pill was tried out on before it was sold! i'm still trying to get the money back from my clinic since this poison is the most expensive one on sale in ireland.
i just wanted to share my experience of coming off yasmin. i was on it for two years and knew it wasn't right for me but i didn't put all the symptoms together until i found this site, and like most of the women here, was pretty relieved that i wasn't crazy. so when i stopped taking it i waited for all the terrible things to happen and none of them did. my periods were irregular for a while. but i lost the weight, my breasts stopped hurting, i stopped waking up in the middle of the night with leg cramps, no more diarrhoea, no more thinking i was the ugliest and craziest bitch in the world and no more telling my boyfriend i didn't feel like it.... don't be scared and just stop taking yasmin before it seriously wrecks your body! i'm so much happier without it. of course everyone has different experiences, but i thought i'd encourage people to stop taking it rather than continue out of fear that they'll feel worse when they stop. all the best ladies!
