My husband is on dialysis 3 days a week, he went to the hospital for irregular heart beats and a low pulse rate...39 to 48. The Docs found a low grade lung infection......they could not do anything for him heart wise...said no pacemaker, however the discharging doctor prescribed AVELOX 400 MG, KNOWING HE IS A KIDNEY PATIENT. end stage renial failure, with irregular heart beats and low pulse rate....he now has extreme head aches,,,heart rate even worse...........I put in a call to the hospital....no return call.....so I stopped my husband from taking the Avelox 400 mg.

I have been on it for a about 4 months. In the last 6 months I have fainted twice, (first time my life) have constant sore achy muscles in my upper body and now am getting irregular heart beats and skipping beats with clammy faint feelings.
Had treadmill tests etc and heart is good and strong. Was given this med to protect my remaining kidney from elevated bp but I changed my diet and lost 50 lbs so bp is down to 110/64. Going to stop this stuff now. Life is too miserable as is.

Hi, I am 26 year old mail, I received an "injection" of "kenalog" about 5+years ago. I hate to say but the stuff is still affecting me. I am not lying or exaggerating I am telling the truth. I am totally logical and don't imagine stuff plus all the side effects and everything is totally obvious you don't have to be a genius to figure it out.
Insomnia
Depression
Anxiety
Nightmares
Hairloss on head Hairgrowth in nostrils and arms
Tiredness
Muscle wasting and weakness.
Irregular heart beats/ heavy heart beats
Swelling of the throat/ sinus'
Fatigue
Disorientation
Itching on the body especially the neck
Acne
Divets or small holes in face and nose now I look bad.
Slower reflexes.
Stomach problems
Other side effects that I am not willing to list
Discoloration of the skin
Probably others I haven't remembered
I would just like to say I feel bad for ANYBODY who has had this happen
to them. And I think the nurse might have gave me a way higher dose
than normal because the side effects have been so far lasting.
If there was a way to broadcast this to more people I would. Don't get a
kenalog injection whoever you are. I am going to try chlorophyll as another person mentioned. I do believe there is a God and do believe he will wipe out all suffering on earth in the near future. If you are suffering please pray to God his name is Jehovah and pray in the name of his son Jesus and He will hear YOU. Revelation 21:3,4 " With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” "

Was given Fentanyl along with propofol as an induction to general anesthesia and had a horrible and very agitated feeling . I know it was not the propofol as I have had that by itself for another procedure recently.I know it used to cause agitation in the children it was used on in the hospital where I worked. The Fentanyl patches caused this same agitation on my deceased husband.I think it needs to be taken off the market. It caused irregular heart beats on me in the recovery room. I was on Yasmin for 3 years, at first I thought it was a perfect fit for me - I had shorter, less painful periods. Over the course of the next 2 years I had CHRONIC Urinary tract infections and yeast infections. I mean like 10 a YEAR. My gyno didn't know what was wrong (I'm meticulous about cranberry juice, cleaning, etc) and prescribed me a antibiotic. I had to take one pill after intercourse. Well, apparently 1 was enough to throw off the balance and I'd end up with a yeast infection.
In addition to all that I TOTALLY lost my sex drive. I've been off the pill now for 4 months and I'm still waiting for it to return.
I wouldn't reccomend this pill to anyone.

PEOPLE, PLEASE DO NOT DISCONTINUE THIS MEDICATION SUDDENLY, IT CAN BE DANGEROUS!!!
I have been reading about this medication here for some time, and I feel concerned when I read about someone deciding to just quit taking it suddenly. I personally intend to quit as soon as I find a doctor with enough knowledge to help me wean off of it in a safe manner. I've been on it for two years, and the side effects have grown worse than my original health problem, so I understand wanting to just up and quit taking it, but after learning the hard way, I've found out it's not so easy.
Do your homework, read and learn about the potential 'rebound effect' and by all means, talk to your doctor before doing something that may cause you to be in danger ( as in having a heart attack)...if you don't believe me, learn for yourself, the information is easily researched.
Blessings, and good luck...

Be careful, do your research before taking Topamax. I took Topamax for 5 weeks for severe migraines. The first 2 weeks were fine, a slight decrease in my appetite. The third week, my memory suddenly got really bad, really scary. By the 4th week, my memory was non-existant and I felt slightly depressed. My Dr. assured me these side effects would soon pass. By the 5th week of Topamax, I plunged into a horrendous, suicidal depression. I cried all the time, I woke at 4 am with irregular heart beats. I have never been so uncomfortable in my own skin. I became a stranger to myself.
I much prefer my migraines over the side effects I suffered from Topamax.

hey worried # 42432.
I can see why you are worried about your girlfriend. I was on yasmin for 4 years and stopped taking it about 4 months ago. My boyfriend and I also had a worry like this but it was after I stopped taking the pill and it was the only form of contraception we had been using while i was taking it. I didnt get my period for two months past its due date and i also had symptoms of an early pregnancy; nausea, feeling sick after meals and even the tender breasts. We did three tests in the space of two weeks and i was so worried that i was extremely irratable also.
But this was after i stopped it, while i was on the pill I never spotted between periods and i also suffer with bad pains for the four days I have it. The one thing I did notice when i was on it was it made me a little paranoid at times, which is not in my nature and then about 10 months ago i started having irregular heart-beats and fainting for no reason. I decided to go off it because i was really worried and i got myself cheched out with my G.P and i am now in the process of having tests done. I cant say that these symptoms are caused by the pill but i can say that I feel much better now that I am off it and my heart rate has returned to normal.
I think the best thing you should do is get your girlfriend checked out by her G.P to make sure everything is o.k.
I dont know if this was any help to you but Best of luck and i hope everything works out for you both.

My last entry was under guest 35975.
I don't look at this site very often, because even though that i find it helpful, I also find it frustrating and somewhat depressing. We are all suffering at the hands of greed in the pharmacuetical, and medical worlds. This pill should have never pased the FDA. I myself have spoken to 5 very reputable law firms about a lawsuit, or class action suit. The problem is we need clinical data, or something close to it. I hope to get something set up where we can all check off our side effects during and after Yasmin usage. I will put it on the link site and on this one. When I will do this I can't say. I have been off this pill for 2 years now, and yet I still suffer from physical problems which cause me to have life issues, one being I find it very hard to get anything accomplished. I went from being a very active self suffiecient, busy equine physical therapist, who ran 3 miles a day and worked out at the gym, to someone who has not been able to adequately exercise in 3 years, and who has gained 25 pounds, and who has been unable to resume a rgular work schedule due to the Fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue symptoms, mixed with all the other stuff. I do thank God everyday that I am getting better, slowly, but I am better.
As for the question someone asked on how I found out I had anemia? Well, I had been complaining to the DR.'s that I felt tired all the time, this was about 3 months after the GI bleed. I eat well, and as I said I was very fit. They told me I was probably just getting out of shape, from lack of exercise, and that I should go exercise. I went to the gym, and got on the treadmill, and pushed myself as I always did. This time I felt like my chest was caving in, so I quickly stopped did deep breathing and a lot of praying. Eventually the heaviness went away, but the irregular heart beats didn't. So I requested an EKG, and ECHO and a CBC, IRON and FERRITIN test. My Iron was at 3% saturation, and my Ferritin was at 3, my Hematocrit was 12, and hemoglobin, in the 30's. I could have died! I had the start of what is called a anemia induced heart attack. The red blood cells were to tight in size to carry oxegyen, and I was short of them.
I urge everyone number one to get off this pill, and get a CBC plus Iron, Ferritin, liver panel, electrolyte panel, crp, and a folate test. These are all blood tests. Then I would also get a saliva test done to check your hormone levels and your Crtisol, and DHEA levels, these control your Adrenals, which are tied to your hormones and vica versa. My horone levels at last check, which was summer 2006, were worse then a POST-Menopausal women. I have aged tremedously because of this, and gained the weight. I barely had any Test. Prog., or Estrogen. The doctors seemed totally unphased and uninterested in this fact, and yet I am ony 42, and I have been battling all this since I was 38. Actually first battle was wghen I was 34. Make sure you get a copy of all your blood work and all your tests, don't take their word that all is okay. Do research, ask questions and be persistent, it is your right to see your medivcal records.
I have since been dropped by my insurance due to all the severe problems I had. I don't go to the Doctor any more, except for a blood test and a yearly GYN visit. Still my past medical expenses during the 3 year Yasmin nightmare, make me look like a bad client.
I urge all of you to change your diets to a more vegetarian diet, it has been shown that balancing your ph is helpful in overcoming most medical problems. The ph Miracle, by Dr. Young is a good book. Eat Organic! All the added hormones in the food today, can cause more hormonal imbalances. Be pro-active in your own health care. Times have changed, pharmacuetical companies and insurance companies run medical schools, and the medical feild now. The Mayo clinic is the only Western Medical place I found that had doctors who seemed to be interested in taking the time. Sadly they like most other medical practices know little about hormones. Ladies we have been Guinea Pigs long enough.
We can be a loud voice if we organize and speak together. This site and the others are good places to learn and vent, as I said I hope to soon have a place where we can start calculating data on our side effects, then maybe a law office will take on the makers of Yamin and shut them down, and bring awareness to what all these pill companies are doing to women.
You know that they linked Premarin with breast cancer, this is another hormonal drug.
Let's not lie down to big medicine ruining our bodies any longer.
By the way has anyone else suffered GI bleeding, or other excessive bleeding?
Or Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue, Adrenal Fatigue?
Also the info on Magnesium is very good and important, Floradix is a great product for naturally and safely raising iron and B vitamins, also take the Omega 3's like UDO's Oils or Nordis Fish oil, and Bcomplex, and C. Don't forget to get your blood work insist on it. God Bless you all! Tricia

When you advise that low magnesium levels where what caused your irregular heart beats how did you confirm that? with test and then a supplement?
I am curious because I have this too as well as pain and read in more recent posts that Yasmin can flush out/create low levels on Magnesium-and that low levels of magnesium can cause the irregular heartbeat. a long time ago as well a doc told me that low progesterone which I had could also cause it?
If you did take take a supplement how much did you take and did it go away? Have you had the chest pains too?

Why is mobic better then save advil or aleve? I have a prescription but haven't started it yet. I have fibromyalgia and osteo arthritis in neck, shoulders, back, hips, knees and most recently my hands and fingers.
I have a long history of irregular heart beats(pvc's ) and I am reluctent to complicate them with added comlications from mobic. If soemone has info that would help I would appreciate it.

hi yasmin researcher.
as i mentioned in a previous post i have the same problem with my ears, sometimes it can last days at a time without clearing. my ears first blocked up in august 2005 and have stayed that way up until now. i have been off yasmin for coming on 8 months now. when i looked up my symptoms they lead to a blocked eustacious tube. i have tried everything to clear them but nothing has worked. i am just hoping that it will correct itself in time. you also asked about irregular heart beats..... i have had this ever since i was put on yasmin in jan 2005. i would get it mainly at night where my heart would slow right down, miss a couple of beats then start banging and jumping around then it would race. i still get it now although not as badly now i am off yasmin but i still get what can only be described as a floppy sensation like a lump of jelly wobbling about in my chest. when i saw my gp initially back in 2005 they did an ecg but said all was ok. then when it got worse my gp said it was due to an anxiety disorder (that was what i was diagnosed with when all my anxiety symptoms appreared) as i said i still have irregular heartbeats most days but i am so reluctant to go back to my gp because they diagnosed me with this anxiety disorder thingy they will not even consider the possibility that yasmin caused this so whenever i go to see them now they just assume anything that is wrong with me is all in my head and that i am worrying about nothing and i just can't stand that reaction as i know i do not have an anxiety disorder, the fact that i have improved vastly since i came off yasmin proves that.....but not to my gp. i suppose i really should put my pride behind me to get my heart checked again just in case.
i have asked in a previous post for all ladies in the uk to report yasmin (have typed the web address so if you have not already done it please look up the post and complain about this drug!)
best wishes to you all ladies.

I have had a dry cough since starting this drug. Also impotence started a few days after treatment. Also, I have noticed irregular heart beats, maybe skipped beats? The Dr. gave me another impotence drug to counteract the lisinopril but all it did was make my sinuses swell up... LOL I think the high blood pressure is preferable to this.

I have a Mitrol Valve Prolapse. It's very pronounced. I've been on all kinds of meds for it since I was 20 years old and I'm now 50. I was on Lopressor last, but it started to not have much of an affect so they put me on Topral XL 50 mg a day. Since being on it I've been very very tired, more so than usual, but I'm stubborn and push myself. Now I've gotten sever joint pain in my neck, fingers, knees, toes etc. It's awful. I was on the internet looking up the symptoms of lupus and MS; that's how badly I feel. I went to my family physican thinking I surely had to have Rumatoid Arthritis, like my Mom and Grandmother. The test came back normal, no sign of that. I've gained 20 pounds and I've been dieting and exercising the best I can with no avail. I went to look up side effects of Toprol and found this site. Can anyone tell me of a better drug to control palpations and irregular heart beats from MVP? I'd really appreciate discussing a new med with my heart dr. and trying it. I need to get off of this stuff.

Please bear with me as this is a bit of a long story. I was put on lisinopril 5 years ago for hbp (not bad - 140/85). 5mg of the drug quickly controlled it. But at a check-up a year later my doctor heard irregular heartbeats and added a beta-blocker to control heart rate. For the next few years I had terrible depression, throwing my whole life into a mess. Eventually I couldn't even work. I also had terrible joint pain all over my body, the cough, poor sleep, nightmares, red face, and skin so dry I was embarrassed to meet people. The depression clouded my thinking to the point where I just thought I was aging really rapidly and really badly. I never thought of the meds. Stupid, I know. Finally someone told me that beta-blockers can cause depression. That was all. I went to a new doctor and asked to go off the beta blocker. Miraculously, despite horrible withdrawl symptoms, mainly rapid heart rate (I too, went to the ER a couple of times), I immediately felt like a new person. Most of my side effects were gone but my heartrate has never been normal or regular. I have been off the beta blocker for 6 months and my bp is ok. Recently I went to a cardiologist because of the irregular heart beats and rapid heart rate. He renewed my prescription for lisinopril and scheduled me for a bunch of tests but now I'm wondering if the whole disaster has been from taking lisinopril all this time. Neither of my doctors have ever even thought of it but I've been doing some research, including finding this site. I know you don't just stop taking bp meds. Any input out there on getting my doctor to consider this as a possibility and also any other family of drug that would control bp without all these side effects?

hello everyone,
My wife has been on prednisone since 4 weekas ago.She started with three tablets which is 60 mg.After a week they decresed the dosage to 2 1/2 tablets 50 mg and it went down to two tablets 40 mg a week later and so on.Here is her side effects: at first she experienced blurred vision but only for 10-30 minutes but they went away as the dose decresed, moon face(rounded and chubby) week joints in elbows, wrists, knees and feet. She eats a lot more than she used to,anxiety,
her eyes pulsate , irregular heart beats, sharp poking pains in neck legs head feet chest.Mood changes, gets mad at me over little things, back pains , neck pains, back muscle soreness ,cant sleep much, her head feels very big, walks very slow, gets tired fast, swollen feet, sensitive to light sometimes, headiques, feels pulsating through most of her veins, sensitive to noise, dizziness. She has about two more weeks on this medicine which she had to take due to narrowing of her blood vessels on brain(postpartum cerebral angiopathy) very rare complication after she gave birth to a healthy boy.My wife thinks it all happened because the anesthisyologist messed up on the epidural shot which he had to perform it three times on her.If anyone one out there knows how long does it take for her to get better please let me know it will be very appreciated. Thank you all

I am on my 10th day on Neurontin at 300mg OD for a severe cervical muscle pain, the pain did go away but... at first the only noticeable side effects were drowsiness especially in the AM, loss of coordination. But a few days later, the numbness on my lower extremities was noticed as well as moderate to severe headache more on the frontal area and arthralgia (joint pains). I also had episodes of irregular heart beats so I had to be put on Betablocker. The dosage was not that big, but anyway, patient's response varies individually. This will be my last day of Neurontin. I hope my body will eliminate all the traces of this drug.

I too had the evelids that would NOT stay open ...this is fun while trying to drive to your job then trying to actually work while slurring your speech while not being able to see your computer screen....oh and then having to pee every 5 minutes was also very productive for my job. It s also fabulous to have the stupid psych doc just prescribe this shit like candy and not mention or care to ask you about your family history of diabetes or irregular heart beats...Definitely NOT worth the hassle. These drugs make your symtoms and anxiety and insomnia worse than before...so the doctors can give you more drugsand then try to act like you are crazy....hell they are crazy for thinking I am going to fall for this shit anymore. I am bipolar but going to go to a holistic doctor and fix my diet and vitamin intake and tell all the money grubbing condesceding psychiatrists to kiss my ass!!!

I have been taking Welchol for about two years, I have not
attributed some of these side effects to Welchol untill I now
but I have irregular heart beats, severe gas, pain in my left
hip, trouble sleeping and recently hyperthyodism with a
goiter. I believe I will stop taking Welchol, my cholesterol is
not that bad it was only about 230 when my doctor put me
on Welchol because of a stroke in my optial nerve in my eye.

My husband is on Paxil cr. Has been for about 8 years. (Was on Paxil and then Paxil cr. He has a plasic heart valve. He had surgery in 1988 first and then in 1996 he had an angorizim (spell?) by it. He has always been hyper and anxious, but this scared him so much. He is on coumadin, metoprolol, digoxin, and colestoral medications. He also started having siezures. He has been on dilantin for about 5 years and still had siezures. The siezures can be from just dizzy, vomiting, to a full grand mal siezure. No one can find out why...Recently he had been put on lamictal, by his nurologist. He has been very anxious, and just angry at the world and depressed. He argues over everything. Could it be that he has been on paxil for a long time and it isn't working anymore or could the lamictal cause this? He deffinelty needs help and I don't know where to turn. He also has had irregular heart beats. went to cardiologists but they say it is electrical, not circulatory and not dangerous. I took him to emergency the other night and they said the same. He is misorable. do you have any advise????
