I have been on fentanyl for about 3 years because i have a lot of spinal problems and have had 3 surgeries and this is the most horrible drug I have ever taken or could imagine. It has been a nightmare. I have lost down to 93 lbs. I have agitation, cannot sleep am awake about every 2 hours and have very vivid dreams, memory problems, flu like symptoms, trouble breathing seems hard to get a good breath and lots of wheezing, bad depression, moody, agitated, sad, itching, skin rashes, feeling of just not being there, racing thoughts, burning skin, feel like I am going crazy, get very sick if I get too hot or exercise very much. The doctor said I finally had his attention and started slowly weaning me off of them

I was prescribed Lisinopril by my physician about six months ago. Everything was OK until about two weeks ago when I developed a HORRIBLE skin red, flaky, itching skin rash. This first appeared as heavy dandruff and was confined to my scalp, but letter moved to my neck, chest arms, back and legs. I am so grateful to have found this web site and I will discontinue this medication IMMEDIATELY!!! I will inform my doctor of these side effects and I will refuse to take this or any similar medication in the future. I have tried all sorts of shampoos, skin creams, cortisone ointments and such...it just keeps getting worse. I am hoping that getting off of this medication will improve things. Please let me know if you have had a similar experience with this medication.

I took one Avelox on Friday March 21, 2008 to treat a sinus infection and within 5 minutes my face, back and arms turned beat red. As I looked in the mirror I could see that my lips were very swollen. Within 10 minutes my entire body was beat red and I was extremely itchy especially my head and back. I figured I was having a reaction to the medication so I took a Benadryl which did not seem to work until I took the second dose. I ended up feeling sick the entire day and really achy from head to toe. I had terrible pains in my stomach and every time I stood up I felt as if I were going to fall back down. I was very dizzy and felt just out of it. I was also sneezing nonstop. I went to the doctor and was told that this medication works well for a sinus infection but one of the side effects is an allergic reaction. I have not taken another one since Friday but today is Sunday and I am still a bit red, still itchy (especially my head), still dizzy and still feel out of it.

My 21 mo. old son has been on Singulair along with Zyrtec & Pulmicort daily for a year for severe allergies & asthma. The Singulair has done wonders for his asthma, but his mood swings are completely intolerable! He can go from my sweet little angel to devil child in no time! I was thinking that it was from the Pulmicort (being an inhaled steroid). It's almost like a "steroid rage" that he goes through. The little things make him mad. He punches, slaps, throws himself in the floor, all while kicking and screaming! I just happened to do some research this morning on Pulmicort side effects when I stumbled across all of these experiences that are being linked to Singulair instead. I am so thankful that I may have found our problem!!! Pray for us!!! My patience & his treatment!!!

I was on Lipitor for 2 months and had to stop taking them. I was getting several side effects, but the absolute worse for me has been the burning hot itching skin all over - particularly head, legs and arms. When I scratched - even lightly - my skin comes up in welts that sometimes bled. I also have burning in my eyes and my ears - particularly bad in my ears accompanied by a painful throbbing sensation.
I stopped taking Lipitor almost 3 months ago now and although the effects have eased a bit they are still there particularly on my head, right arm, and lower legs. I can't even shower and dried off with a towel Ibut 'm left with red welt type marks that are extremely itchy and burn at the same time. If I put a towel on my head to dry my hair my scalp and face feel like I've got severe sun burnt. I'm hoping these side effects will eventually go away.
I'm going to go back to my Doctor in 4 days time and I'm dreading it - he's not the open minded type. When I complained about the side effects first he was very dismissive but then agreed to lower my Lipitor dose from 10mg to 5mg and told me not to start taking them again until the symptoms went away. He also told me that he had never heard of anyone having adverse effects from Lipitor!
Has anyone else noticed that in most experiences here the side effect seem to get really bad after the Lipitor starts to lower the bad chlosterol. I started to experience side efects very soon after starating Lipitor but that coincided with my bad chlosterol levels dropping like a rock from a very high rating to normal within the first month.
Please tell me if this burning itching side effect will eventually stop on its own or is there anything i can do to speed up the process.

I am so happy after taking myself off ZORCOR in mid August 2007. I have my ankles back. They had been swollen. My knees were swollen and were so painful. Although I am 66, I have been active all my life in activities which included running(now walking) aerobic dancing, swimming, hiking to name a few. In June 2006 following a strenuous down hill hike, I experienced knee pain and swelling. I was taking 10 mg. of Zorcor at that time. I went to see an orthopedic doctor and he gave me an injection of steroid in the knee joint. It did relieve the pain. Then the right knee started. My knees were so painful, that I could not sleep, I had difficulty doing stairs. In fact I began walking backwards down steps so the knees would not bear the weight. It was after I was advised to increase the dose to 20mg.that the addtional side effects began. I was having difficulty standing from a seated position and even purchased a sofa that was more firm so I could rise from it.
I could not sleep,I had shoulder and arm weakness and lethargy set in. Normally I am active from 6:30 AM until 10:30 PM still working and very involved in my community as well as hobbies. At 20 mg. I was tired, losing interest and was content to be a couch potato. So I went on the internet and read everything I could find on Zorcor. I noted that I had 5 of the 7 major side effects which included itching skin, particularly from the knees down, itching, scalp, trigger fingers (thumb index and middle fingers were locking as much as 3 times a week. Just touching my legs to put on body lotion was painful. I felt as though I was getting the flu, just really down(depressed) and tired. I decided to stop the ZORCOR so I could sleep. Within 3 days I found that the pain in my knees was gone. I had my ankles back (no swelling). It has been six weeks since stopping Zorcor and I am back to my former self. I will never take STATINS again!
I will continue to exercise and maintain a diet rich in fiber and fruits and veggies.
Quality of life still vies for Quanity in my book.

Joodles here with a 5 month OFF Yasmin update:
Like a lot of you I had the following symptoms while ON Yasmin:
Heart Palpatations
Pain/cramps in my knees/legs
Terrible itching skin rash
Dizziness
High blood pressure
Anxiety
Now that I am OFF Yasmin the following has happened:
BAD things:
A period every 14-18 days
Hair is thinning
Gained 10 pounds (lost 6 since June)
Acne!
Breast tnderness close to period
GOOD THINGS!
No cramps
Dizziness is gone
Skin itching is gone
Pain/cramps are gone
Heart palpatations have stopped
Blood pressure has returned to the normal range
Not as anxious/paranoid
So Ladies, as you can see, the GOOD things WILL happen over time!
I did have awful withdrawel symptoms the first 8 weeks of stopping Yasmin. I was VERY nervous and felt very uneasy. I found a tea at my local Jewel store, it is called Tension Tamer Tea, and it did wonders getting me through those very tense times. I am a big believer of herbal remedies and I have found Black Cohosh (20mg in the morning, 20mg before bed) to be very helpful to me.
If only our GYN's and Family Doctors know what torture we have all gone through because of this pill.
Ladies, hang in there, it WILL get better! I AM feeling a lot better and you will too! PLEASE give yourself time.
I wish you all love and a blessed Thanksgiving.
Joodles

I started taking zyrtec a few days ago for seasonal allergies. I had tried the claritin (loratidine) before and it didn't seem to really help me much. I was avoiding the zyrtec because I knew it could potentially make me drowsy and I didn't want to be tired if I was working. I'm a pharmacist so I decicded to try it knowing the potential side effects. It works really well for me - but I started having really vivid strange - and disturbing - dreams. It has only been a week and they havent been too bad so far - but I am going to monitor it and if they get worse I will stop and try something else. The reason this is so strange is I don't normally dream much at all. I maybe remember bits and pieces of a dream - these are wierd and strange and make absolutely no sense. These dreams seem so real and are so clear - I can remember every detail of what was done and said.
