About 2 months ago I started taking Lisinopril because they say it protects your kidney and I am diabetic. I just came back from an urgent care appt. where they said they don't know why my arms and legs have pain so severe that I can't think straight. As I read these posting, it occurred to me that this itchy throat that never goes away could also be a side effect. I am going to quit this medication to see if the pains go away, because I think pain makes the BP go up! I am going to get acupuncture for the pain now.

I had a cold/sinus infection for almost three weeks, so I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he put me on the z-pak. That night I woke up at 4 am with a server ear infection and drove myself to the ER. They put me on Cipro and ear drops..well the next day I woke up feeling even worse and had laryngitis and it burned to breathe, so on Friday morning I went back to my general doctor and he took me off the cipro and prescribed me AVELOX. I took it this morning (Saturday) and within 15 minutes I had a really itchy throat, and my upper lip started tingling. I had panic attacks, was gasping for air and by the time I left for the ER my entire face had swelled, and my eyes were swelling shut. The put me on an IV drip steroid & IV pepcid, waited till my swelling went down & sent me home with prednisone & pepcid for the next 4 days, and said just to finish off my zpak. The scary thing is that this happened within 15 minutes of my first dose..I think this is a terrible drug! I should have just stayed on the z-pak to begin with!

I have been on this horrible drug about 6 months now. At first, no problems. Then about 2 months ago, I developed this itchy feeling in my throat; thought I had a cold coming on. The itchy throat after two months turned into a terrible dry cough so bad you almost gag. I also developed a rash on my throat and itching all over my face mostly, but also down my back. Lastly, I feel really fatigued now and sometimes I have flu like symptoms, that is, achy and feverish with chills. I have been off the Lisinopril now 4 days with no change, but everything I read on these posts indicate that it may take from several days to several months, depending on the individual, to get this junk out of your system. Like many others, I feel this drug should be taken off the market, and yes, it is incredible to me that so many doctors have no clue of its terrible side effects!!

I have been taking lisinopril for several months and I, too, have had the itchy throat with uncontrollable coughing. It seems worse when I lay down to go to sleep. I also have sleeplessness and don't know if this is from lisinopril or other medication that I am taking. In addition I have almost daily diarrhea. Sometimes the cure is worse than the symptoms.
My husband just started taking lisinopril and he is coughing and aching all over.

Hi Everyone,
I must say this site has really helped. I thought I was going crazy, or that everything was in my head.
I was prescribed Advair 100/50 for a lingering bronchitis that followed a bad flu.
Chest x-rays revealed minor hyper-ventilation and minor bronchitis, so my Dr. gave me Advair.
I have no history or family history of asthma. I am very healthy, and my lungs are strong - I used to do apnee diving, I don't smoke, run a lot.
I took advair for one week, twice daily. I stopped yesterday, because firstly, I couldn't see any change at all, and secondly, I noticed the following:
- lots of phelgm in throat (feels like I'm constantly swallowing mucus)
- bad taste in mouth, and itchy throat (sometimes a burning sensation)
- general fatigue and lack of energy
- feeling depressed and anxious, almost paranoid
I just took it for one week, so hopefully this will be out of my system soon.
I was somdering if anyone w/ side effects can update their situation since they stopped using advair (have the side effects gone away? how long after?)
thank you
mat

I would like to Thank all of you for taking the time to inform others about your experience of side effects from advair. I have learned so much! And I'd like to thank Guest 4309 for making the connection between yeast infection and advair. After doing a google search for yeast infection, I found many reputable sites (Duke University, urology.org, etc.) that state that steroids and corticosteroids (that's what advair is) can and do cause yeast infections (Candida, thrush, skin infections, sinsus and ear infections/itching). I AM BLOWN AWAY THAT MY ALLERGIST TOLD ME FOR A YEAR THAT THE CONTAST ITCHY THROAT and EARS and LOSS of VOICE, among other problems, WERE NOT CAUSED BY ADVAIR! Like Guest 4309 I wish I had NEVER taken advair. I am off it now and I'm taking glucosamine and acidophilus and eating lots of plain yogurt. Let me tell you, I already feel better. ANd I have sent for the book "Conquering Candida" on www.half.com for $7.50. I'll let people know what happens to me. ANd, please let us all know what works for you!

I'm Back (bnorvell Side effect # 4520)
I have now developed the cronic itchy throat eye watering gaging cough. It's really raises up when i'm sitting in the quite Church. (How embarrasing!) I found a way to subside the cough a little, by Just blowing your nose even if your nose feels clean. Blow it hard and your cough will be suppress for 1/2 hour to 2 hours. (Well it works for me) It takes out the post nasal drip. This is by no means a cure. I'm looking into another remedy for High BP.
Good Luck Group..

I went to the doctor two days ago, prescribed with amoxicillin for sinus infection (250mg 3x/day). I have asthma as well so the infection has hit me pretty hard. After taking my 4th dose last night there were noticible changes in my sinuses for the better, everything was clearing up, still a runny nose but now clear instead of green/yellow. Before taking the meds I had a terrible itchy throat as well from all the drainage and that is gone as well even though I'm still draining. Side effects last night were no fun though. I've had no appetite as it is, so I eat light before taking any meds at the least, had a yogurt and an apple before taking the meds and I don't know if it was the combination of food and antibiotics or just side effects, but I got a terrible feeling in my stomach like a burning sensation and was also nauseous...wasn't able to sleep for another 4 hours because I was going back and forth to the bathroom. Finally did get to sleep and woke up 6 hours later having to use the bathroom immediately upon waking and that was very unpleasant. A very high yellow diarrhea, and smelled horrible. Still not feeling better, have no idea what to eat and approaching my next dose...gah!
