I've had Mirena for 5 years, but in the last 6 months have had nausea, dizziness, tiredness and abdomen pain, also palpitations and a shortness of breath. Due to have it replaced next week, but I think I'll just have the old one removed and give my body a chance to be 'normal' again.

I have only been on Lipitor a few short months and have been suffering pain and weakness in my feet and legs. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, itis so bad I can barely walk. I did not realize what the problem was until I started readingup on the side effects. I thought maybe I was developing arthritis. Additioanlly, I have suffered back and neck pain. As of today, I intend to discontinue using Lipitor and hopefully, get back to a pain free life.

Hi Chrissy,

I know exactly how u feel....I have had these AM I DYING issues for the past 6mths before i linked them to they Yasmin and i am still soooo worried that something is wrong with me nut 6weeks post Yasmin it does not seem as bad but still comes and goies but thinking back itis an improvement of the month that i stopped yasmin and i was having my husband ring me everymorning at 7am as ithought that if i died in my sleep at least the kids could tell their dad if ithey couldnt wake me as each night i was sure this would be it for me ...that i had some serious life threatening disease or i was on the verge of a massive heart attack and all these symptoms were the warning signs of my heart stopping.
I am still internally thinking hey high blodd pressure must be bad but seeing on the posts the women that write that they had high blood pressure also post yamin gives me reassurance that they were alive when they wrote that so hey i am gonna make it ( see another negative yamin effect).
this site has saved my life and i am always here now also for anyone whom needs me... it reminds me a little of pay it forward the ones before me found hope here , i found hope from them and maybe i can help another...

20 weeks ago, I awakened with severe stabbing pains in my head and muscle pains in thighs. In the days following, the acute pain was also in my hips, back, upper arms and legs. I experienced difficulty walking, sitting or standing up. My doctor pulled me off Lipitor (40 mg. for 3 yrs.) but discounted that Lipitor was causing my problems. He sent me to a neurologist (MRI of my head turned out OK but the stabbing pains are still there) who sent me to a rheumatologist. The rheumatologist gave me a cortisone-lidocane injection in each buttock. It was miraculous - my pain were gone. I was able to walk normally for the first time in months. He also prescribed a 12-day course of prednisone as well as a prescription for Mobic (anti-inflammitant) . I have enjoyed two weeks of pain-free joints and muscles - and no head pains. The official diagnosis of my problems is "an auto-immune problem, polymylitis rheumatica with psoriatic arthritis"!!! Friends, I have no rheumatism, I have no arthritis, I have no psoriasis but I DO have polymylitis (poly=many, myl=muscle, itis=pain; many muscle pains) and I am fairly confident that Lipitor is the cause of it.

With the successful 12-day prednisone course behind me, my muscle pain and stabbing head pains are back! The rhematologist wants to resume with another course of prednisone and I am left with few alternatives other than to go back on the steroids.

Golly, I wish that today's doctors were more educated about the effects of the statins and more willing to think outside of the 'diagnosis box' when it comes to the symptoms and dangers of statin drugs.

Any recommendations? Email me at ******

Thanks.

Jim
