So glad I found this site!! i just went to the Mirena website to check side effects. i had this inserted a few weeks after i had my first daughter in December of 07. The last two months or so of my pregnancy i noticed my sex drive was slowing down, but it mostly was just the thought of the discomfort(I put on 50 pounds lol) So for months now, I have had the same decreased sex drive-it brings me to tears! I was never like this in my life, and I finally thought that maybe something was up with this Mirena. Once I read the posts, ans saw some of others side effects, i think thats whats going on. I have had Horrible leg cramps in my lower legs, severe shooting pain when I stand up, and I could not figure that out either. I even just last week, went out and bought expensive new sneakers and have been trying to where them thinking maybe all my other shoes were messing something up. Now I doubt it! Luckily my periods have not been bad, except the fact that they are beyond irregular(just light) and my cramps are about the same, but I do get some sharp cramps like i never felt in my abdomen. AND!!! I have lost all but about ten ponds of baby weight, but I have been on Phentermetrizine (same as Phentermine diet pill) from the doc, and have only been able to lose about 3 pounds in a month, so I am thinking this thing is def. holding some weight on me. Hope I can get it out, I don't have any insurance anymore!!!

I had my Mirena first placed in March 2007 after the birth of my son in November 2006 (this was my first post-partum cycle). I had prepared myself for pain, but after the doctor placed it, I couldn't believe it! I felt nothing. He told me to come back in a month for a check. So I did, and he said everything is fine, but he wanted me to have an ultrasound. I had the ultrasound which said my device was low. He said, let's do another US in 3 months because sometimes they will move back to where they need to be. I had the 2nd US, which said it was still too low and not effective. My doctor said I needed this device out, and a new device in. Well, I told him I wasn't going to pay for it (or all these copays), so he called the company and I received a new device for free. However, he wouldn't take the old one out and put the new one in unless I had my period. Well, I did not get my period on the Mirena...ever. So after months of waiting, I finally talked to a midwife at the practice who agreed to replace the device without having my period. I had the device replaced in December 2007 (incredibly painful!).
So now it is March 2008, last weekend I was watching TV and felt something funny "down there." I went into the bathroom and felt my string almost coming out of my vagina. I did not feel any device. So, all weekend the strings would jab me in the side of my vagina. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said everything looked fine, I just had long strings. I asked him, why have I never felt this before? He sent me for another US, which read that my IUD was again too low and needs to be taken out. I am done with the Mirena and will see what happens next.

I had a kenalog injection in my shoulder at the end of October during my period, my next period was 4 days late and appeared to be normal, 18 days later I started bleeding again which went on for 13 days, I had 5 days off and am now bleeding yet again. I have an added complication of being on warfarin for life for recurrent PEs so Drs are unable to give me anything to stop the bleeding. I was referred for a pelvic scan and am now waiting to see a gynaecologist. No medics seem willing to admit kenalog may be the cause. As my blood has to be kept thinner & I bleed easily, I am very concerned at the amount of blood I am losing. When I had the initial jab the consultant did warn me I may have menstrual irregularities which I interpreted to be a few days early or late, certainly not non-stop bleeding.
I couldn't believe what I was reading when I found this site, so many of us are suffering, why weren't we warned of the side effects. I certainly wouldn't have had the first injection if I had known and I will not have any further ones.

I live in the UK and receive an annual kennalog injection for hayfever.
Described as using a giant hammer to crack a nut! my first injection was about 10 years ago and the effect was absolutely amazing, my hayfever cleared up instantly.
During the first few years the only side effects i noticed were increased agression ( i am normally calm !! ), really bad headaches and the increased number of bugs/colds due to my immunity system being broken down. What i did notice is after a few years the injection has a lesser effect, it still works wonders but not as good as the first few times.
Last year i had a massive bust up with my doc as he refused to give it to me. I cannot do my job with hayfever so eventually he gave it to me on the condition i signed a disclaimer as it is no longer recommended for hayfever.
I usually dismiss all normal hayfever tablets but this year I have decided take docs advice and am using tablets first before i go back begging for my injection.
The tablets i am using are called Neoclarityn and are only available over the counter.
Into June and all is ok so far apart from a bit of asthma.
Anyone else using anything else other than kenalog for hayfever??

Hello!!!!Been on Yasmin for three months now and not many bad side effects at all, positive side effects were breast tenderness which was good for me cos i had small breast, light periods which lasted for three days, high sex drive, lovely skin and a bit of weight loss, the bad effects were feeling sick two or three days to the end of a month's pack and when i took a month's break from it i had the worst period pain ever and symptoms of nausea. Now am thinking of going back to it because according to my GP saying, maybe if i stay longer my body would adjust to it and i wouldn't feel sick anymore.Well i have tried so many pills and the jab i think Yasmin it's not as bad as people think,we just got different bodies that react differently to these pills.
