I was prescribed this drug for a fungal infection. I will never take it again, I cant think straight, I'm weak, have nausea, jittery, I feel like a bowl of jello on the inside and I'm soooo tired after I take a pill. Its throwing off my balance, cant ride the horses. Hey did you know that this is a drug I give my horses? Its no wonder they hate taking it, I do too. I think I will have the vet give them something else and the doctor can definitely find me something else, this is a horrible drug.

20 min after my second dose I experienced severe vomiting. Headache, vomiting and nausea continued for 32 hours – I could not hold down more than a sip of lemon/lime soda or jello. During that time I my skin became itchy, the next I developed a rash on my neck and chest... I have been taking hydroxyzine, which relieves the itch, but a month later the rash persists…

Without repeating what everyone else is already describing all I can say is Thank God!! My step son has been on Singulair as long as I can remember (6 years?)and his anger has been just what everyone describes. Before he could even form sentences he would lay down on the floor and repeatedly bang his head on the floor concrete, carpet, grass it didn't matter. He was diagnosed with ADHD about 4 years ago but his father and I were both desperately against medicating him because we didn't think this was the problem and no one was asking any questions or looking for other answers. He has now been put on 3 different meds for the ADHD and when they don't work they just keep upping the doses. He has since been committed to a hospital 4 or 5 times now for his anger and suicidal threats. HE IS 7!!! He doesn't even know what suicide is he just knows he doesn't want to be here anymore. The other night he pulled a knife on his mom out of the clear blue. They were laughing and playing, he went to the kitchen for jello and came back with a knife!! I don't know if Singulair is the cause but it sure sounds like it and I only PRAY we have finally found an answer and that everyone finally sees what his father and I have been screaming for many years now. Hopefully this will open his mothers eyes as well as the doctors. I PRAY with everything in me this has no long term effects. Also, looking back I realize he has always had problems with bad dreams. From the time they put him on Singulair he has not once slept through the night without wanting to join his daddy and me in bed. He is afraid to even go to bed without daddy. When I think about all the nights I wouldn't let him sleep in bed with us because I thought he was old enough to sleep alone at 7 I literally cry for what he must have been going through. Please let this be the answers to our prayers!!!

I have been on Prednisone for about two weeks now! I hate it!!! I have never liked medicine, i don't even like to take Advil. They gave it to me for something called a idiopathic pseudo-tumor behind my eye, thought that it was an infection at first but the antibiotics didn't work.. I'm on a pretty high dose, i was on 80mg for 9 days and now I'm on 60mg so far has been 3 days. I have had all sorts of bad side effects from it! WAY bad anxiety attacks, heart palps, bad night sweats, dizzy, confused, like everyone else the brain fog feeling, bad knee aches, hungry all the time but i haven't really gained wait but am bloated in the stomach. After taking it for only 4 days i almost went to the ER i felt like i was going to have a stroke or something, my legs felt like they were turning into jello, and i got really light headed, I was about to freak out! I think that it dropped my potassium levels or something, i ate a few bananas and that made me feel better. It is starting to get better now that i dropped to 60mg but i still hate it, and I'm starting to get really bad chest pain (heartburn or gas?!?) not too sure but its starting to become unbearable.. I get to go down to 40mg next week and then 30mg for a week then to 20 for a week and so on! I'm a bit nervous now cuz i thought that depressing would make it better but everyone is saying that it get worse. I hope that it don't get much worse cuz i don't know how much more that i can take! My eye looks great so the meds did the job, but i still don't know if i would ever take this again knowing this much about it! I'm glad that I'm only going to be on it just a little over a month but even that seems way too long! good luck everyone take care of your selfs! oh yeah I'm only 23 and this stung really makes you feel old, i feel at least 40 it hurts to get up or sit fast!

Hello Everyone ---
I just wanted to share my story and hope that it helps others. On December 20th I was prescribed Levaquin to help clear up a bad case of Bronchitis that I had taken a Z-Pac for a week earlier. I still had remnants and the doctor saw as fit to give me the Levaquin to help me get over what was remaining. I had a 10 day supply of the 500mg Levaquin prescribed to take once a day. After (2) two days of taking the medicine I noticed that I was having a slight amount of pain in my left knee, and by the 23rd of December it hurt to walk or stand or sit. The pain was just a dull ache however; it would also become sharp with any movement. Just to let you know I finished all of my 10 day supply, not knowing that the Levaquin was what was causing my problems. I am a healthy 31 year old male that has a 3 year old daughter, so I am always on the go. However, beginning the 24th & 25th of December the pain had spread from my left knee to my right knee, ankles, as well as hip bones. By the end of my prescription my pain was all over my body, it hurt to sleep, it hurt to move, however, taking 800 mg of Motrin every 6 hours seemed to help ease the pain but never seemed to knock it out. I tried everything from Tylenol to Aleve...however, Motrin was the best. Not knowing what had caused my problems, and getting tired of being in pain I went to see my family medical physician on the 7th of January. He ran me through the mill with test to figure out what was going on. Nothing out of the ordinary, I was a little anemic, however, that had nothing to do with my problems. We talked about the Levaquin, and he as most doctors dismissed the chance of that being the case. However, he did prescribe me 200 mg of Celebrex per day, and told me to take Tylenol as needed to help with the pain. After taking the combination of those drugs for 10 days, I called his office back and told him I was still having problems not as strong as before and I could tell I was getting a little better however movement was still bad, so he referred me to a Rheumatologist. I saw the Rheumatologist on Jan. 22nd and he seemed to help more than anyone else, he also did some blood work, however, nothing out of the ordinary once again, he also check for arthritis, and nothing came of that either. He believes that the medicine was the root of the problem, and until it is gone from my system nothing I am going to continue to have problems. He upped my Celebrex to 2 times per day, and told me to take Tylenol Arthritis 2 pills 3 times a day...this combination has almost knocked away all of the pain. I can still tell that I have problem areas such as my wrist when opening the car door; however, hopefully those will go away in time. Apparently, according to him there is a small amount of people in the world that is allergic to fluoroquinolone drugs and do not know it until they take one of these. I go back to see him again on the 12th of February hopefully I will be back to normal, however, I do have one burning question in my mind…what happens if I get off the Celebrex? Hopefully he will be able to answer that one for me. For anyone out there that is having these same problems as I have you might want to recommend for your Doctor to prescribe you Celebrex and see if will help you…

After reading the first page of posts, I realize I am very lucky that some of the worse side effects. The first time I was prescribed Levaquin, 500 mg. for a UTI, I noticed that after one day my tongue tingled. The second day of treatment left me with a very sore tongue, as if someone had rubbed it with sandpaper. The next day, I got several large white blisters in the roof of my mouth, under my tongue and in the back of my throat. None of these symptoms were listed in the information pamphlet from the pharmacy. I called my doctor and he said it must have given my an oral yeast infection. He called in a prescriptin for Diflucan and Nystatin (an awful tasting orange liquid you have to swish in your mouth and swallow). It did not help. I went to him again so he could look at my mouth in person and I had lost 9 pounds in 6 days! I could not even stand to eat chicken noodle soup and I was living on water and jello. I am a diabetic who has to inject insulin, so my blood sugars were going crazy. He prescribed some other mouthwash and it took almost a whole week after finishing the Levaquin for all the blisters to get to a point where I could even brush my teeth again. I can't begin to describe the pain. I have UTI's a lot, but I made him promise never to prescribe Levaquin again. Well, two months ago, I got another UTI and tried 2 other meds that did not clear it up. He once again prescribed Levaquin, and now my mouth is inflamed and blistered. I don't think it is an oral yeast infection, because the symptoms are not the same. It feels more like some kind of chemical burn. Has anyone else had these symptoms? I just came back from a family reunion and I was miserable the whole time I was there.

I started taking 500mg levaquin after regular antibiotics (ammoxicillin) were not helping a sinus infection. I took it for 2 days and noticed a really sharp pain in my lower stomach. When I went to the bathroom, it hurt even worse, which made me think it was my kidneys. I decided to stop taking this medicine, as the pain was becoming unbearable and I couldn't miss work. Two days after stopping this med, I woke up at 2am with my throat so swollen I could barely swallow. It happened very suddenly. I cannot express the pain, it was almost unbearable. The only thing I can even tolerate is jello or liquids. I took another levaquin this morning not knowing what to do, but now I think I'm going back to the doc to get something else. I also have lots of muscle aches and pains, but didn't notice them because I have another health condition that causes them anyway.

ive been on this steroid several times for:
-asthma
-exczema
-poison ivy
my side effects are actually humorous. I have delayed reaction time,i get dopey and start drooling, and im very very giggly. Some of the not-so-funny side effects are jello-like feeling in your legs and arms, severe nausea at night after you take the dose for the day, lack of sleep, and my head feels 20 pounds heavier.
this steroid works very well, nothing else really does anything for me.

So let me tell you my experience...I started taking the generic form of Yasmin (Ocella), mind you I have been on four other birth control pills and had no problems. The first cycle I had with this pill I felt like I had the flu with no sinus symptoms, so I went to my doctor, it was flu season, did a flu test: negative. He told me it was just a virus and my body will kick it out in a few days...so I went back home and went back to bed...not six hours later I had a constipated feeling...go to the bathroom and I was having severe bloody diarrhea. I had to call my husband to come and get me to take me to the ER because my abdominal pain was so severe. The ER did a CT (yummy on the barium milkshake by the way, not!) they said I had colitis...went to a GI doctor and I went through 2 CT's, a colonoscopy, endoscopy, small bowel series, sonogram, and blood work to see if I was allergic to gluten and lactose...I was limited to jello and apple juice as my food supplements...I was STARVING for three months. I realized that when I would go to the ER they would give me antibiotics and I would feel better until about 24 hours after I ran out...I called my OBGYN and he told me flat out, stop taking the pill you are having ischemic colitis and it is a severe reaction to that pill you are taking...I also wound up having surgery because endometriosis runs in my family and he wanted to make sure mine didn't get any worse...which was wonderful...I quit taking the pill and I have to be on a pill due to hereditary gynecological issues...so I was put on Orth-Tri-Cyclin and Life is wonderful again!!! So for you ladies...some of you had it easy!! I almost had to get part of colon removed because they thought it was UC! Twelve weeks in a colostomy bag...NO THANK YOU!!
