I just started the Singular and it has helped my asthma a lot. I can't tell about the coughing because I also started it while I had a cold. But now and then even before I took singluar I would cough. Sometimes coughs are produced from various types of airborne things, many different types of things. I have a mold aggreviated asthma so that could be why its helping my instead of causing me to go nuts like it does for some. But it doesn't sound like a very good drug for children. It seems as though none of the posts coming from children taken Singular are positive. But so far it's helping me. I made it through the day without grabbing for my inhaler which was a great relief for once.

I've been on Topamax since just Tuesday, 10/9/07. I find that I get very tired a couple hours after taking it and I have horrible nightmares and very dark thoughts, too. Diet coke tastes so HORRBILE which is bad because I loved my diet cokes, but then again I guess that's good b/c I need to stop drinking them anyway. My worst side effect is that I have horrible mood swings. Is this normal? Is this going to go away over time? Because if not, I'm going to stop taking it now. This is not like me and I am not going to subject my family to this - losing weight is not THAT important to me. Thanks for any help. :(
P. S. I'm taking 25 mg in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Presently on 20mg of Lisinopril. Altitude intolerance @4500 ft at Yosemite yesterday caused me to call 911 on one of the hiking paths. My blood pressue dropped to 112/60 and the side effects were severe. My hiking partner was not sure if the paramedic was joking or not when he said he could not find a pulse on me, but after 2 saline iv's I came back to life after nearly going into shock from a LOW blood pressure episode . I never want to be that sick again. I was rushed to the local clinic and diagnosed with altitude intolerance and the doc said I may need to lower my lisinopril (20 Mg) dosage, because it may well be the source of my intorerance episode. I went X- country skiing earlier this spring and had a similar experience, but not nearly as life threatning as yesterdays ambulance ride.
If anyone is thinking of driving to a higher altitude, don't exert yourself immediately. If it is an extended stay, take it easy and let your blood and body acclimate to the thinner air. I will ask my doctor to lower my meds to 10 mg because I now regulary jog 3.5 miles a day to keeps the pounds in check and I FEEL so much better.

I was at 117 when I started now 140!!!. I have experieenced the bloating. My breasts doubled in size literally. I have many other of the side effects mentioned by other women on this site. I have just gone off of it tonight. I sure hope this goes well. Has anybody suffered any side effects coming off of it?

After living with asthma and relying on a rescue inhaler for 28 years, I was prescribed advair 500/50 and it has changed my life. I have not used my rescue inhaler since. It is like a miracle cure. I know its not a cure but it really works great. Do you know what it feels like to leave the house without panicking because I couldn't find my rescue inhaler?

Took Levaquin for 5 days as a prophylactic measure to prevent infection from a prostate biopsy. Experienced severe Achilles tendon pain and itching and swelling in both feet after the 1st 2 days but did not originally attribute it to the Levaquin. The pain has finally subsided after 12 weeks but some swelling remains. Could barely walk in the beginning and still have some balance problems.
I take no other medications and do not jog or exercise strenuously. I had a heart catherization 1 week ago and all is OK (no blockages). I have been to 4 doctors and only one would say that it might have been the Levaquin. Meanwhile I have been left to my own devices. Found some exercises on the internet to strengthen my Achilles tendons which have helped and found that lotion and massage have helped my feet.

Since starting 25mg Toprol XL after having a stent inserted and suffering a mild heart attack during the angioplasty, I have lost all libido and have gained 40 lbs. My ability to jog/run has been diminshed. I also feel depressed, unmotivated and suffer from memory loss and brain "fog."
My question: Do I really need to be on this medication?
Thanks.

I just finished my 10 day cycle of sulfameth/trimeth for a sever sinus infection - I have barely been able to eat the whole time - forcing myself to when I started to feel too weak - i love food and it has not appealed to me. I have felt nauseus and like there was a granite slab sitting in thepit of my stomach. I have also been extrmeely moody - just thought that was from lack of eating. Definitely dehydrated. Been getting leg cramps the whole time and one day I couldn't touch the skin on my right calf - i thought I had caused nerve damage from a short jog on the beach, but it was gone the next day. Then, lo and behold, on today, the last day, the nausea is still there, I feel tired and my back is really sore and I am covered head to toe in a really ugly rash. SOund familiar? I was told that there were no side effects to this drug except for dehydration. THis is first first time I have taken antibiotics in 10 years and I am not happy with the decision, but was so desparate.

Started on Vytorin (Zocor 20 mg/Zetia 10mg) on 12-23-04. I had previously been on 40 mg of Pravochol with 10 mg of Zetia with little side effects. However after 6 months on Vytorin my sex drive has diminished and my left ankle swells and aches after my daily 30 minute jog (have been jogging for over 25 year without any ankle problems). 3 days ago I began splitting my Vytorin 10/20 pill and have noticed the ankle pain has subsided greatly. The ankle pain has persisted for the last 6 months while on the Vytorin. My cholesterol has plummeted to 133 (which I personally think is too low). I am planning to have my doctor put me back on a lower dose (20mg) of Pravachol and Zetia as before. Anyone esle have this problem with Vytorin?

I stopped taking Zocor 6 weeks ago on advice of a metabolic specialist. I started to feel the best I have for four and a half years. I was going about my daily routine last week when it dawned on me I had no muscle aches or pains at all. I was feeling so well, not depressed or tired. I have been sleeping well at night time and now I only have pleasant dreams. I wake up refreshed and full of hope and the stiffness in my body had gone completely. I take the dog for a walk daily and the other night I found I went for a short jog with him, I couldn't believe I could actually jog. I had been finding it impossible over the past four years to gain any level of fitness, although I exercise daily, and have always eaten only the healthiest food. I never lost weight during the last four and a half years, and gained a lot of flab on my stomach. The metabolic specialist stated that the Zocor had destroyed muscle and replaced it with fat. Now that I am not taking Zocor I have started some light weight training, and I have found this to be beneficial. I will see my GP in 2 days time to report my good health. I will never take Zocor or anything like it eg.Lipitor or any statin drug. I believe these drugs are not beneficial to a person's health. I feel sure I will lead a normal healthy life from now on with sensible exercise, continue with good common sense cholesterol lowering foods to compliment my optimistic outlook. Even although I have a family history of heart disease, I believe I will have a better lifestyle looking after myself the natural way. I prefer to believe what I have read on this website from the people who really know what it feels like to be suffering continually from aches and pains, and feeling as though I was a constant pain in the neck for my family. I have had so many of the side effects described I felt like I was a hypochondriac and so I gave up complaining about all of my symptoms to my doctor; exteme fatigue, feeling unwell and depressed, swelling in my legs, trouble walking up 2 flights of stairs, stiffness, particularly in my legs, feet, more so on the right side, sometimes stiff neck(which the Dr said was a wry neck), burning sore feet continual, waking at night with my lower body just aching like a toothache, feeling freezing cold; sometimes I would wake and the joints on my lower trunk where my legs start felt like they had ridges of built up swelling or calcium. I have had bleeding gums at times, and sometimes mouth ulcers. 2 years ago I had unexplained vaginal bleeding, my stomach had blown up and I looked like I was 6 months pregnant although I was post menopausal (early menopause). I had to have a curette because they thought I must have cancer, but there was no explanation for the bleeding. 2 months ago I had tests for diabetes, my blood glucose tolerance test came back with a concave reading, which the GP could not make sense of, so this is why I was referred to a metabolic specialist. The specialist could not fault my dietary intake. It was found that I also had a severe depletion of iodine, although I had been tested for hyposthyroidism 2 years earlier and nothing showed up. From time to time I have had abnormal liver function tests, put down to overuse of paracetemol or anti inflammatory drugs.....so I stopped taking these completely and managed the pain with some help from a psychologist friend with self hypnosis. I believe that all of my symptoms were due to taking drugs, and prior to taking Zocor I had no need to ever take anything. It was only because the GP recommended Zocor after a High Cholesterol reading and I was considered to be in a High Risk Category because my Mum died of a sudden heart attack and my dad had Angina. Mum died at 61 y.o. and dad at 78 y.o. I am 54 y.o. and started taking Zocor at 49 y.o. I stopped taking Zocor 6 weeks ago, now feel great and would not recommend it to anyone.

took this stuff for 2 days. Am 46, Dr. prescribed it to replace some hormones. It is awful. First pill was fine, after I took the 2nd pill, next day, that night woke up as racing heart, a little "out of breath" (like if you jog for a short distance) and headache. This stuff stinks.

I began taking levaguin on Wednesday. Thursday morning, upon awaking, I noticed tht my achilles tendons seem tight and sore, Friday moring, 10 minutes into my typical 3 mile jog, I pulled up with pain in the back of my thigh that was a either a strain, pull, tear or cramp. At any rate I could not continue to run. Saturday afternoon, getting off the couch, I felt the same sensations in the back of my leg, behind the right knee. Today, Sunday, these pains have now extended to my right calf.
After reading the experiences of other Levquin users, I believe that these muscle and tendon problems stem from taking the drug. Because I must cure the condition for which the drug is perscribed, I will continue with the recommended dosage for a while and hope that the side effects go away.
However, I would caution others, particularly those who are acustom to regular, stenous exercise, that this medicine may lead to damage of their muscles and tendons.

The nuvaring should be re- named to the devil ring. I went on it for two days about a year ago. I went for a jog (like i have been doing every day for years) and felt this horrible cramp in my pelvic area. I had to sit on the curb and almost flagged somebody down to take me to the ER because I could not get up. Finally, I made it home, took out the ring, and about a half hour later I was fine. People thought I was crazy when I attributed it to the ring so I decided to go on it again last week. I immediately felt very much not like myself. I was on vacation with my family and was so extremely moody and irritable I was just un-bearable to be around. I had it in for 7 days before I decided to remove the ring. Once removed, about a half hour later I was much more pleasant and less irritable. It has been 6 days since I removed the ring and I have gotten my period. I experienced terrible terrible cramps yesterday to the point that while shopping I was huddled over in the aisle because I kept getting this shooting pain from my back to my lower abdomen. I have also been having very bad night sweats (I wake up in the middle of the night and have to shower because my clothes are completely drenched). Now, today I have a very bad migraine, I am experiencing the chills and sweats with no fever. I have made an appt w my GYN for Monday but its Friday...that means I have to go through two more days of this. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms even when the ring has been removed?
