Wow! I'm on day 4 of my new nuvaring. Last night I curled up in bed and contemplated 15 different ways to kill myself. That was after I kicked my cat across the room so I wouldn't go belt my sassy daughter across the face. And this was suppose to EVEN OUT my mood swings. I'm 40 and going through a lot of internal changes emotionally, some of which can be blamed on changing hormone levels. I was hoping to alleviate the mood swings (which compared to this aren't that severe!) I'm removing the ring today after reading many of the posts on this site. I can't wait to just be my regular moody self-lol! Oh, and I have to apologize to my cat who hasn't come near me since yesterday. :(

I stopped taking wellbutrin xl 150 mg and lamictal 200 mg 3 days ago cold turkey because there is no way to cut thewelbutrin tablet in half and take it safely. The first day wasn't bad at all. I felt better than I have felt in years and years. Then yesterday I felt okay, but not as good as I did on the first day. Today I woke up feeling like I have the flu. Every single bone, joint and muscle in my body aches. I feel fine one minute and the next minute the room feels like it's spinning and the body aches return. My psychiatrist started me on all of this poison,,, oops, I mean, medications 2 years ago. I had lost a child and had gone into a deep depression which led to severe anorrhexia. He started me out on Lamictal and Lexapro and after a year of awful side effects from the lexapro(especially sexual side effects=no desire at all) he finally switched me to the wellbutrin xl and told me that it would help better than the lexapro. At my last appointment, 1 week ago, I asked him when and if I would ever be able to go off of these meds. And he told me that I am probably a "lifer". He refused to hear anything about my stopping or weaning off of these meds. So, after my 3 minute office visit and prescription refills written out I left the office. I did not take the prescription to the pharmacy because I decided then and there that the only reason he and a lot of other psychs put people on these outrageously priced prescriptions(the lamictal is $140 a month and the wellbutrin xl is $170 and that is for the generic per moth) is because they get HUGE incentives from the pharmaceutical companies to keep us on them. I will not go back on the meds ever again. I am tired of living in a drugged up state. I want to feel alive again like I felt before I ever started taking this crap.

I have had 1 remicade infusion so far for ulcerative colitis. The next day a bunch of spots appeared on my lower legs. There were 30-40 of them, small, roundish, purple/dark red. They looked like blood spots under the skin.
It wasn't a rash and they didn't itch or hurt. My doc had no explanation, and I haven't heard of anyone else having this reaction. They checked my blood for a clotting problem and didn't find anything. The spots faded away over a week or so. My next infusion is in 2 days, so we'll see if they reappear.
I have also been experiencing a weird kind of insomnia where I am so physically antsy I CANNOT keep lying still, I have to shake my body or kick my legs or something. I read up on restless legs syndrome and the symptoms sure sound like what I am experiencing. I don't know if it's connected to the Remicade - I read that iron deficiency can also cause it and I am anemic due to the UC. But since Remicade can disturb the central nervous syndrome, it seems possible. Anyone else experience RLS with Remicade?

Just in case anyone reading the email I last sent thinks that I meant that they are suffering from stress, I actually meant that I think their doctors seem to diagnose everyone taking or not taking Yasmin with stress, (its sold as Jasmin) in France but its the same drug. Sorry for any confusion.

Hi Everyone,
Its me again. Well, just to tell you that I thought that I felt fine whilst I was taking Jasmin for the two years. But my poor husband had to put up with a very depressed and anxious wife with no libido at all. Last year, was our worst year of 11 years marriage ever, we nearly divorced because I was so depressed with absoultely no reason to be whatsover.
Two boys, lovely man, home, job, etc. I now feel more "alive" having stopped taking Jasmin but these heart pains are awful. Can anyone post how long these pains last for on average? Three months, Six months? I had them last month and then they eased off towards the end of the month and now they have come back again everyday and sometimes with a very slight ache in my left arm. I've never felt so fragile. I know my GP will say it is "stress", which seems to be the answer to everyone on this site, and its not true. Any comments would be great.
Kitty.
