I started feeling much better very quickly after being off Lipitor now 7 months. However, the symptoms I had using the RX has cause significant problems. I fell so many times with my weak joints and muscles, that I had severe problems. I now need to have knee replacement surgery after falling so many times injuring my knees and weakened muscles to support myself. I am getting cortisone shots in that knee, as well as physical therapy. My MRI shows a torn meniscus, stretch PCL very thin, cartlidge loss and debris, still swollen with csyt after all these months. With no meds, and lack of being able to exercise, I now have hig-chol back. On and on it goes.... a real catch 22. Take care of yourself, watch out for symptoms. I ignored sx's thinking it was stress but after reading adverse reactions, it fit me to the T.

I loved this drug after I had serious knee replacement surgery, but I was delusional because I was so high all the time. I was happy and thought everything was fine until I almost burned the house down one night because I wasn't really aware enough to know what was going on around me. I took it for six weeks and then I had to stop. This is another adventure because the high is not worth the low ladies and gentlemen. I had shaking, sweating, episodes at night for a few weeks and then I was Ms. meanie too. This is a dangerous drug, and I was dangerous on it, it is highly addictive, stay away from it.

I want to be with a man for a longer period of time, and yes i feel a little sleepy so i rest when i want to , i can take a nap at least twice if i want too. If i want to stay up all day i do its all a mind thing. It does give me a little stomach pain if i take it with a empty stomach, other wise it really helps me . I will take this medication for as long as i have to because i do not want to have surgery on my knees. I also have back pain but i feel fine when i take my medication. But i will not stop taking my darvocet because without it i feel weak, i cannot move without feeling pain all over. I feel like im 80- years old when im not taking my pills, but i feel like im 30 years old when i taking this medication it really makes me feel energetic , happy , very good sex drives and i can live with this forever. Hope this will help someone, who is confused, about this drug. I have 6 sisters with the same problems knee problems and my mother who is 68 years old and she also takes this for pain.

I've been on Prednisone for a couple of months and am now starting to step down on the dosage. After ruling out several different maladies, I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rhumatica. Knowing the possible side effects, especially weight gain, I was reluctant to go on it, but my family said they'd love me anyway even if I did look like a chipmunk! Initially, I loved the stuff. Within a few days, my pain went away, my energy level was soaring, and I felt like I was 20 years younger. I started doing things I hadn't done in years like my art work. I felt like I was born again. Then came the time to start cutting back by 2 1/2 mg. every two weeks. I did that twice and now I'm dragging again. I'm up and around for 4 - 6 hours and then I have to go to sleep. I need to get completely off the Prednisone before I can have some much needed knee replacement surgery. Some people with Polymyalgia Rhumatica find it necessary to go on maintenance doses of Prednisone. It looks like that might me me, so I'm going to be some miserable person for a couple of months until I can have my surgery and go back on it. In addition to the possible weight gain, I'm also fearful of the osteoporosis. To offset the negatives of Prednisone, I have signed up for Weight Watchers and take water aerobics twice a week. For the hours that I'm up and about, I try really hard to keep moving like walking the dog, working in the garden, etc. I don't hate the Prednisone, I hate the condition which has necessitated my taking it.
