DOXY SUX BIGTIME. If you want to feel like you have an ax in your forehead and knives in your torso, chow it down. Not just the stomach either, SHARP PAINS in the whole organ area. Also, extreme LETHARGY, if I took on an empty stomach I'd THROW UP, numbness in extremities. Took it so I wouldn't get malaria. The drug company must have an overstock of this & they prescribe it for everything! In other countries you get other drugs for malaria. WTH? Intracranial hypertension?! How scary is that? Of course I read about that after I got the head splitting HEADACHES FROM HELL. I hope it isn't permanent because I still get the headaches & have stopped the devil's drug for 14 days now. You take it 28 days after exposure to mosquitoes has stopped - and every single day you of your trip. Someone is making a ton of ca$h off this poison & they will pay in the next life with the worst karma ever. I thought I was having an aneurysm. (seriously). It was obviously pulled off some countries shelves, renamed, & sold here. DO NOT USE. Going to research intra cranial hypertension now & see if it is permanent.

I had mine put in March 2nd, and I'm 20 and have not had children yet, but I am married. The called and made sure it was alright to do it without having children and the nurse said it was common. She didn't tell me that they were going to cause me to scream out in pain and cry while they sized me and then repeat that action while putting it in. Thank God they gave me 4 ibuprofen hours before that! The initial pain dulled out any cramps I had the first day, and the rest of the week was a breeze! I've been looking forward to this freedom for a long time.
Into my 3rd week now and I'm developing a few side effects, it began with these contractions that feel like I'm about to give birth to a set of knives. It's like I can feel exactly where it is and I can feel the plastic jabbing me (though I highly doubt that's the case, although I'd like to know & should probably have it checked out). I get these sharp, sharp shooting pains in my uterus and it makes my heart hurt at the same time. It takes my breath away. They come and go though. Hopefully I'll get used to it and the back pains and mild hair loss.
I consider myself lucky though, I can't take the pill because I suffer from migraines and mood changes but this hasn't given me any of those. I actually feel like I have energy. Just the sharp pains rarely stop now.

I've had all these same symptoms at one point during the two years I've been taking Advair. I've had exercise induced asthma since I was 18 but I can still work out at age 38 regularly with the help of Albuterol/Proventil. I stopped taking Advair after I completed my last disk in Sept, 08. It all makes sense now after the fact from reading here. Firstly, I cant tell you how severe the muscle cramps were. No words can describe upper body cramping in every muscle that I endured for weeks (it felt like knives all over)!!! The same happened with my legs...the muscles became so tight they contorted! My Dr. gave me an m.r.i. took x-rays and several blood tests...even gave me an h.i.v. test because he had no idea what would cause all these symptoms. He said it was "complicated". The test results found nothing. All lof my symptoms are gone now that I've stopped taking it (mouth sores, bleeding gums, strange skin lumps, hair loss, dry eyes, swollen tongue feeling, lump in throat feeling, severe cramping all over my body for 3 weeks). The Dr. noted that I had gained 10lbs since my last visit. I told him, "I've barely been able to MOVE with this cramping much less exercise with my regular weekly routine!" "It even hurts to breath deeply!" I still have a dry cough that hasn't gone away and normally I clear up after the seasonal rag weed season is over. We have had two hard frosts already...that usually clears my allergies.

My 12 year old son started on Singulair 10 days ago. Yesterday, he threw up blood twice, so I took him to urgent care. He said it felt like someone was shoving knives into his stomach. He had blood tests and a CAT scan -- the connective tissue in his abdomen was inflamed and his lymph nodes are slightly enlarged. His white blood cell count is up slightly -- just above normal -- and his liver enzymes are elevated, which the doctor said is common with a viral infection. He has also had migraine-type headaches twice in the last week. HOWEVER: my 16 year old son has been on Singulair for four years, and it has been a lifesaver. He has had some hand tremors, which could also be aggravated by the decongestant he also takes, but no other side effects.

I have been on Tri-Sprintec for 7 years. Over this last year I have noticed my body either skips a month for my period, or I have two periods in 1 month. This month I happened to have two periods in one month and a period starting at different times. Spotting has accrued the last week, and last night at 2 am I woke up crying in pain. I am feeling really depressed, and seem to want to be alone as well. I feel cranky, overwhelmed, my head hurts and my overies. My sister was diagnosed with cysts, and I am wondering if I shouldn't be taking this anymore. A couple of times also in the morning I've headed toward the shower and about blacked out, running back to bed. Is this normal? These side effects have started this year and I have been on it for 7 years? My skin seems normal knowing I also have hypothyroidism. Should I take something else, I have been missing a lot of work, and my doctor doesn't really think nothing is wrong other than taking it some nights at different times. My boobs always feel like they are going to fall off, but better yet I also feel I have gained a lot of weight with it. Going from 110 pound to 140 pounds. Should I be taking something different? If I am off the pill, which I have been my cramps are so horrible, like knives jabbing my insides. I have been crying a lot out of no where, when nothing is that bad, other than whooping doctor bills. Stressed out, and probably on the verge of losing my job over not getting the right help from the right doctor. What do I do? lost of appetite, or some months large appetites, weight gain, weight loss, depressed, angry, mood swings, more than one period in 1 month.

I've noticed that NBC and The Weather Channel appear to be two of the biggest advertisers of Singulair. NBC can always be sure to have one on during the evening news, at least here where we live, on our local NBC channel. There for awhile, I was logging what time, and what channel I saw the ad. The ad only lists the basic side effects that aren't even dangerous. Merck must be paying NBC the big bucks because they still haven't dropped it. I don't know, should we bombard NBC with letters of negativity or boycott or something to get their attention on this murderous drug?

Both my sons have bad allergies. Both were recently prescribed Singulair after other drugs were not very effective. My oldest, 12, started feeling "strange" and asked to be taken off Singulair. He was not himself on the soccer field or at school. Since we stopped the medication, he has returned to normal. My 8 year old had a much worse reaction. He has bad mood swings and tonight became suicidal. He was searching the kitchen for knives to stab himself. He had fits on the carpet beating himself and the floor until I got him a pillow to take his aggression. My wife notified our doctor and school counselor. We're stopping his Singulair immediately.

Praise the Lord! It is about time. When I read this in the paper yesterday I could believe it. I have been waiting for this to happen for two years now when i decided to take my daughter off this junk. I have told every single person i know what this stuff did to my sweet little baby whom is now 9. She too experienced nightmares, mood swings, anxiety, night sweats, stomach aches, headaches, constipation, urinary problems, leg pains, aggression. She has always been a normal kid for her age. She had always been in dance classes since she was 3 and loved it. Never ever had she been into trouble at school or dance but when she got on this stuff her teacher was calling me at least once a week about her being rude and very forgetful about everything. Her dance teacher told me she looked like she was spaced out all the time. And not listening. I noticed she was having panic attacks in the stores when we would be shopping. She cried and told me"MOMMY I DO NOT KNOW WHY I AM ACTING SO MEAN? I HATE MYSELF. I DO NOT WANT TO BE ME." i cried too and we started praying about it. I posted on this site 2 yrs. ago when i decided to take her off against her ped. advice. She actually got mad at me when she tried to put my younger daughter on it when she was 3. I told her no i was not going to give it to her nor was i giving it to my older daughter any more. She looked at me like i was crazy. And said my girls needed it. I told her i did not like what it did to my older daughter. We do not go to her any longer. It took a couple weeks and my daughter started acting like her old self. I do think it messed her mind up though. Singular is evil and should be off the market. It makes me sick to think back on what it did to my daughter. It was a complete nightmare!

My doctor has put me on four different statins - with reactions from all of them. The one I just went off of - Vytorin - had me suicidal. I had pains so bad through my upper back that it felt like two kitchens knives were stuck in my muscles. My feet and hands were swollen. I had battled a cold for over six weeks - even going through a Z-pack. I was exhausted - taking naps in the middle of the day - NOT LIKE ME - I was sure I had lung cancer or something. Then, I had an "AH HA" moment - What took me so long. I went to Vytorin side effects and instantly went off of it. I feel wonderful. East statin affected me differently but, all had severe stomach and muscle pain. Please don't wait for that Ah Ha moment - Always read the side effects first. I won't even go into what Plavix did to me...

I took the ring out this morning after putting it in about a week ago. After suffering from manic depression for years, I've learned to watch very closely what happens with my body when I begin a new medication, and one week was more than enough for me.
The day after first put the ring in, I began feeling mildly nauseous, like morning sickness. I couldn't be around certain smells that I've always loved without wanting to throw up, (again like morning sickness,) and god help me if I skipped breakfast! Then the headaches started, like knives through my eyebrows and forehead. The second night I woke up wringing with sweat, and noticed a slight vaginal burning sensation. Stomach bloating became a problem slowly, and I noticed my ankles and feet swelling. None of these side effects went away as the days passed, and I was suddenly needing more and more sleep just to function for a few hours. I'm lucky that I'm currently on vacation from school, because I found myself sleeping up to 15 hours a day.
This morning, I'd finally had it. I woke up at 7 AM because the vaginal burning was too intense to be ignored. I pulled the ring out, grabbed a book, and ended up sitting on the toilet for about 3 hours. Twelve hours later, the inflammation has subsided just enough to be tolerable, and I can't wait for this stuff to get out of my system.
Never again. Never again, says I!

I was prescribed the 5-pill course where you take two pills immediately and then one a day for the next three days. By day 2 I had stomach pains I called the Dr.'s office for a different antibiotic. Since I wasn't throwing up or anything they encouraged me to tough it out and finish the course. I did, but boy do I wish I hadn't. Now like someone else described I feel like someone is stabbing me in the stomach with knives. Unlike other's instead of diarreah I am all blocked up. With god as my witness, I will never take Z-Pak again!!

I am tearful as I am reading the other women's experience with Yasmin. I took Yasmin for 3 months because of very difficult periods (severe cramping and back pain). During this time I became increasing numb, void of emotions, and experienced severe panic about knives and sharp objects, lost six pounds and no sex drive at all. I stopped the medication and I am starting to feel better. I though I was going crazy and I was afraid to be around my son or to be alone. Now, I know that it was attributed to this medication and biochemical changes occuring. I am so glad to be medication free...this medication is really scary! I am so glad to know that I am okay and my mind is getting back to normal. I would rather have a few days of PMS every month over the craziness of Yasmin.

I know what you are talking about with the thoughts. Here is waht I am experiencing maybe it is the same:
I like get scared that I am going to lose control of myself and do something awful like hurt someone I love. I get scared of being around objects that are violent...like knives and scissors. Is this the same with you?
If it is I have no clue if it is from the pill or just anxiety in general. I look at it as their might be something in your life you feel you cant control or something. Yourself is the one thing you can control and it is frightening to think that you could just lose control. This also explains the feelings of going crazy. (I've written a paper on this and have done a lot of research because of my own experiences haha). Anyways, most the time it really does stem from a control issue. You're scared of losing control of your actions or your mental state. And yes, many times these thoughts lead to panic attacks. Just think to yourself that you are in control and nothing is happening to you. You control your actions. And if you were really "going crazy", chances are you wouldnt even be sane enough to come to that conclusion haha.
hope this helps!

Yasmin made me psychotic and depressed. It was crazy and it's hard to describe how bad it was. I've never felt that way before. I know what it's like to be sad, I've been really sad when someone I loved died, but that's not what this was like. Being on Yasmin was scary. On Yasmin, I was evil. I was afraid to use knives or sharp objects. I never before understood how people could cut themselves-- on Yasmin I wanted to. I wanted to hurt myself and others. I couldn't feel empathy or sympathy. I felt like all joy and light was gone from my life. I was on it for a month and a half and I stopped taking it cold turkey in the middle of a pack because I was afraid of what I was turning into. After a couple weeks I was myself again. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DRUG. Please don' t take it. Maybe some women can tolerate it, but why take the chance?

I was given Reglan as treatment for migraine headaches, and became very restless, depressed, angry, and had thoughts of suicide. I could not sit still or stand still, and nothing I did would make this feeling any better. This effect lasted for about 8 hours after the dosage. I didn't connect it with the Reglan until I took it a second time. I don't know if Reglan is similar to Compazine, but I was also given IV Compazine in the E.R. for migraine, and the effects were 10 times worse. I honestly think that if my husband had not been with me both times, and knew to look for side effects, I don't know what I would have done to end this horrible feeling. I found out later that my father had been given Reglan for his stomach, and ended up so depressed that my mother took his hunting rifle and all the knives out of the house because my dad was having thoughts of suicide. He ended up checking into a phychiatric hospital. When he got off the Reglan, he was totally fine and back to normal. When I told my doctor about these symptoms, the doctor chuckled and said, "I've never heard of that side effect with either of these drugs." My dad's doctor had the same reaction about the Reglan, but changed his mind when he saw how different my dad acted on Reglan as opposed to off Reglan.

After beginning Singulair, my daughter (age 6 at the time) had tantrums unlike she had ever had (completely inconsolable), scary dreams with guns and knives, that people were chasing and killing her; complained of leg pains, stomach pains with nausea, headaches, hearing bells (I couldn't hear them), itching, and said she wished she could be dead; that if she had a gun she would kill herself. I attributed it to being adopted, and got her into therapy. The fearfulness at night has not stopped, and at times she is still aggressive with me. I am taking her off the Singulair today! She is now 7. I feel so guilty, and so angry at her pediatrician who treated me like I was a hysterical mother when I called him about these symptoms showing up over a year ago!!
