Knot symptoms and conditions

I was first prescribed 2 a day for seven days for a knot on my arm
Days 1 &2 ok
3rd night heaviness and tingling in arms legs,hot flashes uncontrollable shaking,hot one minute then cold the next,severe panic attack(it lasted 4 hrs.,nausea,rapid pulse hands and feet cold and blue
4th thru 6th days shaky weak feeling,fatigue, extreme depression ,VERY JITTERY,STARTLED EASY,my penis got extremely sensitive and turned purple
7th day chest pain,shoulder pain, back pain,tightness in chest, difficulty breathing, it got so bad i went to the ER they found nothing but my pulse ox was low
I started feeling normal again 6 days after I finished the round
I then went back to the doctor for the knot again, they drained the knot and he put me on Sulf. again only this time 4 a day for ten days
I got 2 doses in (4 pills) and noticed a lot of the same symptoms returning . I have not nor will not take this drug again.

I was first prescribed Neurontin in November of 2008 for cervical disc bulge touching my spinal cord causing severe nerve pain in my left extremities. I was prescribed narcotics and eventually prescribed Neurontin. The side effects from Neurontin, at that time, were seemingly intolerable, but as the narcotics were decreased several months later, I found the Neurontin was actually effective and did its purpose. The side effects from the Neurontin were not that great to outway the pain factor I had. I believe this drug does its job!!!!

anybody having heartburn? i've had so many symptoms now, i don't know whats mirena and whats not!
sex drive is slowly dwindling away, that is not like me at all, but then its hard to feel sexy when i'm bleeding all the time and my nether regions smell not to pretty. lol.
other side effects to date are
depression, anxiety, agitated, joint pain, constant bleeding, unpleasant smells, low libido, pains under ribs (not sure if down to mirena)

Much like others, I was prescribed Bactrim for a UTI. I had only taken 2 pills before I noticed the strange blister/knot on the top of my tongue. I was terribly achy, but did not associate these symptoms as drug allergies as I have never been allergic to any antibiotic in the past. I went to sleep- weird dreams. Woke up and the "knot" had moved toward the base of my tongue, my neck/glands were sore, my speech was slurred due to the knot and the numb tongue. This site has been most helpful. I stopped the med and will not be taking it ever again.

Well, I have had my Mirena since June/08. I had my son in May/08. I was 7 weeks pp when I had it put in. After my son was born I felt ok, no pains besides my c section scar
NOW...since insertion I have had a mess of problems. I have been a healthy woman for a long time and never had issues like this until July-ish. I am 27.

1. I had horrible back pain and my legs felt like I walked in 7" heels the night before (the tight muscle cramps, etc). My PCP told me I could possibly have a slipped disc and wanted me to go to PT. I had all my blood work come back fine btw. Since I knew in my heart I didn't have a slipped disc I did not waste my money on PT.
2. I have NO sex drive. The thought of sex makes me gag. No joke. I had sex 6 weeks pp and had a libido with no sleep. My son sleeps 11 hrs a night and I still don't want sex. As I type, I could go the rest of my life with no sex. THAT IS NOT ME AT ALL!
3. Extreme tiredness. Like I said my son sleeps 11 hrs a night and I sleep 8 hrs a night.
4. Light-headedness- I do have a BP of 110/70 so if I get up fast I get dizzy, but more now than before.
5. Started to have SEVERE pelvic pain right above my c section scar. It hurt so bad I was about to go to the ER. I was home alone with my 6 mo old so I tried to wait it out. I called my OB and they got me in. In his exam he felt a huge knot in my pelvis and it hurt like a MF! He suspected a hernia so he sent me for a CT scan.
Got the results yesterday and they came back normal. He said maybe I bruised something. But why do I have a big knot in my pelvis?
I feel like I am crazy. My bf takes my pain issues with a grain of salt now days. My OB did say since there is progesterone in the Mirena that my leg issues could be from Mirena and he was more than happy to remove if I wanted.
I still have it in and more and more I am thinking of getting it removed. My issue is I am so bad at taking pills and didn't like the Depo.

I had epidural cortisone shot in L1 for degenerative bone spurring. Left the hospital feeling a little dizzy and stiff in the buttock area. Next day felt good, but by the third day i had terrible stomach pains and severe nausea, not able to eat. Stomach felt like it was in a big knot. I feel very restlessness and can feel my heart beating out of my chest. Due for 2nd shot in 3 days..... forget it!

i have been taking doxy for a uti i took 100mg a total of 4 times i stopped taking it because i have been feeling horrible my stomach is tied in a knot i am exhausted my throat feels like something is constantly stuck in it i have been vomiting sweaty palms loss of appetite dizziness and it taste like crap to smoke a cigarette anyone else experiencing these side effects?

Within about 8 days of starting Yaz, I developed muscle pain all over my body, but especially in my legs and shoulders. Sometimes it felt like muscle cramps, sometimes like a crawling feeling, sometimes like a pinching, sometimes like a knot. Blood tests and a Doppler test showed no blood clots, but I went off the pill anyway. The symptoms started improving after a few days, and mostly went away within a few weeks. But then I came down with extreme itching and discharge, and trips to four different doctors revealed no infection. That finally cleared up after about two months. Now I'm on a different pill, and unfortunately the muscle pain is coming back. So I guess hormonal birth control might not be for me, but like someone said, this is not easy to deal with in a committed monogamous relationship. I'm going to take a break from all hormonal birth control and hope that the return of the muscle pain was just because my body isn't ready yet after the Yaz.

This is my second time taking the shot. Every 3 months... When they gave me the shot my butt hurt for a week... there was a huge knot that came up thank god it has gone away. I have hot flashes all the time; some times I even have Sharpe pains in my stomach. Memory Loss... which is not a good thing with the type of job that I have... I am always tired... and have a headache... my body hurts quite often... the only thing that is good is I have not had a period... which i am starting to get worried... when will the lupron shot be OUT of my system.. I am 23 and me and my husband are trying to have kids and imp scared if we have to wait to long that day wont come... I have already had to go under surgery twice first time was a cyst on my over the second time was a miscarriage and Endometriosis this past Feb... so I am very worried, the Dr. said that I was very fertile and that after I finish the treatment we could start trying to have a baby... just wondering if anyone is going thru the same thing.. And wondering what the doctor has told you...Or if you would be able to give me some answers… thanks

My body must not be shaped properly for this thing because even after 6 months it still slides out partway all the time. I had to tie it in a knot to get it to stay in for more than 2 minutes. that aside, I had many of the side effects everyone else is talking about:

extreme anxiety. weird tingling in my arms and feet and 'on edge' all the time. waking in the night with horrible panic attacks and feeling sick to my stomach. so bad that I'd be afraid to go back to sleep for fear I may not wake up. I can't even describe how anxious I was. It was like I was outside of my own body all the time. I'd have to wiggle my toes or pinch my arms at times to make sure they still moved. In the night I'd wake up and intentionally wake up hubby or a kid just to know that I still existed.

Total bitch. I even hated being around myself. the sound of someone eating would irritate me so bad I'd have to leave the room before i hit someone or broke something.

totally down in the dumps. not suicidal, but didn't find joy in anything. I didn't want to do anything, yet felt bored all the time.

headaches non stop. Literally had 2-4 headaches every single day for 3-4 months. Not one day without. went to bed with a headache, woke in the night with a headache, woke in the morning with one... painkillers would take off the edge, but not eliminate it.

I seriously was terrified I was going mentally insane.

I had used the pill years ago with no side effects. I've been off nuvaring for 6 months now and don't know what to do because I have problems with cysts (and possible endo.) and their 'solution' is hormonal contraceptives.

I was better almost immediately after stopping the nuvaring. the headaches lingered for a bit more, but the rest disappeared.

I am now 28 and I've had the Mirena IUD since Jan. 2006. I have gained 20lbs since. It has to be the Mirena, because I have never been over 135 lbs, even after childbirth, I was only 130. Just recently I started to get bad headaches everyday. I keep Motrin in stock. I normally keep a bottle of Motrin for at least a year, but now I buy one once a month. I was told there were no side effects with this method as far as weight gain was concerned, but I feel I was lied to. You know doctors get compensated for getting us to use these meds by the pharm companies. Seriously though, the Mirena works. I have had unprotected sex with my boyfriend numerous amounts of times, and I did not get pregnant. The thing is the weight gain, the headaches, the increased body sweats, and bodily fluids, **you have to shower more** it's a must, I have to wear a panty liner at all times or my panties will be wet. When the Mirena was inserted, I was terrible pain for 2 months and I blead for 6 weeks non stop. I would ball up in a knot sometimes and could not move. I had to push myself to go to work and school and plus I had 2 little girls. It was terrible. I don't have a period anymore now, I just spot from time to time, but the panty liner is always in place, so that's all I really use. My only concern with this IUD really is the headaches, and the weight issue, I also heard it could make me sterile.. That's is something I think I would have to sue over. I want a son one day.It's one thing for me to not want anymore kids by my choice, but to have the ability to reproduce taken away from me and it's not by choice.....I would be devastated. I am thinking about having it remove before my 5 years is up. I don't miss my period, so I don't know. I would like to loose the weight though, but I have no energy.

It all finally makes sense!!! I'm 26 yrs old, have been on 3 bc's in my life for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and this past bc was Yasmin. Weird things have been happening and I never thought to link them with the bc but after reading all of these stories it makes perfect sense. Here I'm thinking that I have severe IBS and zero sex drive b/c I'm just a medical disaster but these other woman have opened my eyes. The worst side effect of all is the story that I am about to tell you and I hope that nobody else has this problem. My gyno put me on Yasmin the 8th of Aug. ('07) and at the end of Aug. beginning of Sept. I noticed a big sore knot on the back of my ankle. I thought nothing of it until another one appeared under the skin of my other ankle. I went to my doctor (who is my regular and gyno) and she told me that she didn't know what these lumps were but were NOT caused by my bc. She gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way...one knot went away and another larger one appeared. I went back to her and she gave me a 2nd dose of antibiotics, one goes away and 2 more appear. So this time she sends me to an Orthopedic Specialist who takes x-rays and has no idea what is wrong. He tells me to go see a dermatologist. I went to a dermatologist 2 weeks ago who tells me that I have a blood flow problem. My blood is thick (never had this problem in my life) and has problems flowing back up from my feet in my veins. He diagnosis me with Lipodermasclerosis...ok, so I ask him if this could be caused by my taking Yasmin...YEP! So, I stopped my bc that night. Now I am going to wait the three months for the Yasmin to completely leave my system before I know for sure that this was the cause of the knots on my ankles. I started taking Doxycycline on Jan 22, 2007 for Lyme Disease. I usually get nausea and/or vomiting with most antibiotics so I try and take precautions. The first day I took it I had nausea, headache, dizziness and a feeling of being "out of it". by the 3rd day the dizziness and the feeling of being "out of it" was gone but after I took it in the morning within 1/2 hour I started feeling severe esophagus pain. It's not like heartburn because it's right below my rib cage. That night I started noticing feeling like there was a lump in my throat. By the next morning the lump felt like a huge knot. Now, It hurts every time I swallow, the esophagus pain never ends. Last night I spent the night crying feeling like everything was hopeless. I thought it was just because I've been dealing with the pain from Lyme and now the pain from the medicine now that I read this message board, I wonder if the hopeless, despondent feeling is from this medication. I have 2 more weeks on this I don't think I can take it that long. I haven't eaten anything because it hurts to swallow and it burns. I cry all the time. I did not read that depression was a side effect but it seems a lot of people are experiencing the exact same symptoms. I don't know how some people have been on it so long. Just the thought of taking another is depressing me beyond belief.

I have been experiencing muscles spasms; especially in my back since taking Niaspan ER. It feels like the muscles knot up. Has anyone else had this side effect?

I had the Mirena IUD inserted in September 2007... BIG MISTAKE! I paid $550.00 for the stupid IUD & another 225.00 for doctor fees!!
Okay here's my story.. I have three children, 26 yrs old, married, 120/122 pounds.. can stay in shape/get in shape easily, happy, VERY short 3-4 day periods.. BEFORE Mirena..
Now.. its been 7 weeks.. And even though I keep to the same diet, I have gained 8 pounds! I have been on a period & constantly spotting for 15 DAYS~ oh yeah.. AND bad, bad, bad, BLOATING!! Yesterday I had Severe Cramps- my doctor is out of town so the nurse actually called in muscle relaxers to help with the pain.. I was in TEARS yesterday. I NEVER EVER had menstrual cramps before.... to make things worse..I am so moody & I hate my quick temper. I have never had acne, but now I get a few spots.. not so bad, but I shouldn't have any. I feel like I don't have control over my body.

My appointment is for this Thursday.. I am getting this thing removed, so I can return to normal!

Before getting this awful thing ( which hurts when inserted & bad cramps afterward) I was using NuvaRing for two months.. I did not have any of these bad side effects with NuvaRing... I am going to try that again.

IN SHORT.. I PAID over $800.00 for severe cramping, 15 day long periods, constant spotting, brown discharge, EXTREME BLOATING, huge weight gain, and acne!! WHAT?!? I want a refund!!

I am a fourth year medical student and recently I started having horrible panic attacks, I feel like crying all the time and I actually feel depressed. I am a "hypochondriac" generally (I guess it comes with the territory of knowing about different diseases out there), but I have been feeling like I am going crazy. I started Yasmin in November of 2006 and I was fine for a few months. Lately, with stress at school and exams, I started feeling like I've just crumbled. I get anxiety/panic attacks (the latest one was at the movies), horrible heart palpitations, nausea, I am sweating, I can't sleep, I feel this knot in my stomach. It's horrible. I thought it was me cracking under pressure, but I was never like this before I started Yasmin. Recently, I was placed on an antidepressant because everyone assumed it was depression, but after reading this post, I really think it might be the pill. I got off it a week ago, so I hope I will see a difference. Thanks guys!!!

Anyone have peripheral neuropathy on Zocor? I had shooting pains down both arms for a few days one month into taking Zocor. This stopped but is replaced with intense muscle pain in arms, hands, shoulders and back - and recently hot flashes. I stopped taking the Zocor 3 days ago AMA (against medical advice) as my doc said the neuropathy is not a side effect of Zocor.

I was in the hospital to have out my gallblader in April 2006,
They had it in my IV. My arm started iching right away, and in mins, you could tell where all my vains was. They were turning bright red. Then they started blustering threw my skin, in a swelled upline with the way the vains ran. My husband got the nuse who then pulled it out of my arm right away, and flushed my system as fast as she could. Then later on I had my operation.
Six months later I got a knot in the side of my neck, and I wonder if its related to that happening to me. (If it could cause my vains to look like that. I am wondering what else it did to my insides.

OH MY GOD. I'm sitting here crying. I was on Yasmin for 3 years when I was engaged. When we broke up I went off it - i figured i didn't need to put hormones in my body if I wasn't having sex (i needed a break from that too!). plus who needs to spend the money. i had been anxious and depressed for years and thought it was the relationship, work, law school, the bar exam, etc..... i went into therapy after the break up and started to feel better.

well, it's been 10 months and i felt fantastic. lost a bunch of weight, met a great new guy, work is great, happy happy. went back on yasmin. all of a sudden i'm anxious and paranoid and miserable. that knot between my shoulder blades is back. my sex drive is gone. i've gained 5 lbs in 3 weeks but i'm not eating more. no sex is worth this.

i HAVE BEEN ON ADVAIR FOR 3 PLUS YEARS. JUST RECENTLY I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A KNOT AT THE BACK OF MY THROAT AND ALSO FEEL EXTREMLY TIRED WHICH IS VERY UNSUAL FOR ME. I HAVE ALSO GAINED 15 LBS. I AM WONDERING IF THIS MAY BE FROM THE ADVAIR. ANY RESONSE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I have been taking Dexedrine (same as Adderall) for 15 years and it causes severe anxiety for me which causes nexk pain and muscles to knot up. What relieves the anxiety and tightening of muscles and spasms is Valium or Attivan. Some doctors don't understand why you would need a downer with an upper. I can't be in perfect harmony without the two together unless you like tweaking

Taken Lipitor for 4 years, 20mg.
Along with the muscular pains I've noticed an attitude change in my work. I am a self employed engineer, and attention to detail is essential. Nowadays, I can hardly be bothered to chase up a job, especially if it involves travel. I make mistakes more often (like connectiong 240VAC to a 24VDC device!) and I lose my temper more easily.

Been off the tablets for 2 days due to a mistake in ordering my repeat. I actually feel slightly more human in that short time! Problem is I dare not stop taking them.

On the physical side, if I remain in a position for any length of time, I have to carefully un-knot myself when I move, or the pain is horrible.

I noticed that after taking Mobic for about 3 weeks I started having acne. And I'm 40 years old! Had enough of that in high school. I also noticed that a small knot of some kind formed under one of my armpits. So, I quit taking it and within a few days my face cleared up and the knot went away. I ahve arthritis in my hands, my fingers mostly. Cant't seem to find anything to help with the pain or the stiffness. If anyone out there has an answer please let me know. I've tried almost everything out there so far.

I forgot the blisters! I seem to be breaking out in round water blisters, and some "knotty" sores. The blisters look like someone burnt me. The knots are hard and very sore! How about these? Thanks, Mickey
