Know the truth symptoms and conditions

I am a 54 year old male who has a chronic a-fib. My cholesterol was a wee bit high so my now retired MD put me on Zetia, which just about killed me- constant stomach pains and associated GI problems-we all can guess. So I went to see my cardiologist- he took me off Zetia and put me on Lipitor. It dropped my cholesterol levels significantly but the side effects are horrendous. My new MD was gooing to look into it because I was on 80 mg a day- but never did and never lowered the dose-229 is not all that high to warrant 80 mg a day.
I am now experiencing severe pain in my right rib-cage area, making sleep an event every night. Also have severe leg cramps the size of golf balls constanlty at night while sleeping. Pain in both elbows, and in the right foot, which when I can sleep wakes me up with a severe pounding pain. I am also experiencing severe neck and shoulder pain and am generally fatigued all the time- So I quit taking the stuff as of today on my own, I am seeing my MD in two week and I want to see what the difference is pain wise being off of the med for two weeks. I have always been a strong physical guy, played football all the way through college and am in pretty good shape for my age, but this stuff is killing me!! My doc put me on Singulair a few years ago and I quit taking it after realizing it was causing horrible pain in the muscles of my back and down my legs. Nothing seemed to make it go away either. Then she put me on Advair which made me feel like I was loosing my mind plus other bad side effects so I quit that drug too. So recently she asked me to try Singulair again. I said no but she talked me into trying it again because she had never heard of those side effects. I am now two weeks into it and have been experiencing different side effects this time. And worse. Migraine for 3 days now, disturbing dreams, abnormal uterine bleeding, abdominal cramps, sleepyness, and irritability.
I thank you all for sharing - it has helped me make up my mind and I will direct my doc to this site so she will know the truth - not what she hears from the drug reps!

Well, I am not the type to post things on line but I'm so angry and disgusted with the whole medical and pharmaceutical industries for promoting this product FALSELY. I got the mirena 5 weeks ago and am having it removed in two days- and counting. I am extremely anxious and depressed. I feel "raw"- like I want to cry for absolutely NO REASON. I just gave birth to a beautiful boy two and a half months ago and have a lovely 15 month old boy as well. I need my mental health for these babies and MIRENA has taken it away. I was told (as most women who are posting about Mirena complaints) by my doc that there would be no side effects despite me telling him that I did not do well on the pill. When I had to go to the psychiatrist because of how MISERABLE I felt, she called the ob-gyn and he said it was "absolutely not" the Mirena- leaving me to feel like a basket case. Fortunately I looked on line and realized I AM NOT CRAZY and I KNOW MY BODY better than all these doctors. I had read about Mirena before getting it inserted but only on their website- obviously heard no horror stories there. I wish I would have read websites like this one before having it inserted. Anyhow, NOBODY is going to tell me that what I feel is NOT because of Mirena- I KNOW IT IS. I am having this awful thing removed and no doctor will persuade me to "try it a little longer." They can say it's not the Mirena but we all know the truth and the truth will prevail eventually.

I had been taking singulair for about 9 months. About 4 months ago, I began having sleepless nights, filled with restlessness and fear. Not every night, just some. I truly beleived the doctor when he told me that it couldn't be the singulair. I have taken over-the counter sleep medications and medication for the itching and hives. Know I know the truth.

I am happy to find a website like this with so much information that you normally would not hear from a doctor or pharmacy. I am just taking my daughter to the doctor today to find out what may be wrong with her stomach. She has been off and on Singular since she was a toddler. I never dreamed that her attitude could be from this Singular. It has always been in the back of my mind but the doctor always said that was not the problem. My sweet little girl can start being so ugly and I think Singular is why this happens. Now these stomach pains for the last month might be Singular as well. To think we as parents give this to our children and never know the truth behind it. Asthma attacks are so scary but there are surly other preventative medicines out there that do not cause all of these extra side effects.

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their posts because wihtout them, I would not be where I am today. I had been on Yasmin for 4 years and it has taken that long for me to notice that it has been destroying my life piece by piece. I had become severely depressed and had thoughts of suicide. I had numerous side effects including zero libido, dizziness, muscle weakness, panic attacks, anxiety, rapid heart rate, thirstiness, dry throat, eye twitches, massive hair loss, dry coughing in the middle of the night, crying for no reason, inability to cope with any kind of stress, scalp sensitivity, migraine headaches, and hopelessness. I was impossible to live with and nearly lost everything including my family. I'm happy to say that I've been off Yasmin for a month and a half and my outlook on life has dramatically improved. Most of my symptoms have subsided. I do occasionally have episodes of anxiety but they are less frequent. Stopping Yasmin has saved my life and my marriage. THIS A DANGEROUS PILL AND THE FDA NEEDS TO PULL IT OFF THE MARKET. I work in a hospital and cared for a 22 year old female who was taking Yasmin. She had massive pulmonary emboli with a pulmonary infarct and nearly died. There are so many other birth control pills and methods to choose from. There is hope after Yasmin and it only gets better. I'm living proof. I was able to get pregnant immediately after stopping Yasmin. Please don't wait until your life is ripped to shreds because of this pill. Just get off it after you complete your current pill pack. The road ahead will be challenging but it will be worth it. Make sure to drink plenty of water and take your vitamins. I highly recommend yoga during detox off Yasmin. I've seen a therapist and she told me that she "didn't buy" my Yasmin story. That's ok. I know the truth. Don't worry. This storm will pass. This is directly to Lilly who wrote in what seems to be a "positive" aspect of Yasmine. Lilly- we are all entitled to our opnions. Unfortunately for the majority of us listed below, we were told by doctors our problems were in our heads. I can tell you that I have been off Yasmin for a month and my body is finally funtioning normal. I have not been rushed to the hospital for sever stomach pains, vomiting bile for being backed up from constipation. I have slept through the night w/o waking in pain. I actually have my period normal for the first time in a year.
There were a couple of people who wrote in and had some luck on this pill. Good for the minority. I am glad they have never had morphine shots for stomach pain that can't be diagnosed. For the majority of the women who have found their situations so hard to deal with they had to find a site that helped them feel normal, we know the truth of this drug.
