Knowing symptoms and conditions

My 4 yr old son has been on Singulair for 2 years now After having what was close to pneumonia, his pediatrician decided that we should try Singulair. He suffered from allergies all year round and both sides of the family also have a history of allergies. We went over the indicators to decide whether or not there was a good chance that he would develop asthma. Yes, we found there was a very good chance. We were told that Singulair is the one drug that could actually prevent him from developing asthma - so OF COURSE we said okay. He started so young, that we never really realized that this wasn't just his "personality" - you know terrible two's, then independence, then along came his baby sister...on and on. Anyway, he has always been an overly-emotional child, hyper, etc., but then it was like every little thing bothered him and he would throw fits about "nothing". One day I told him to stop acting this way and while crying he said he couldn't stop and asked me to help him to stop. How heartbreaking! He goes to preschool and can't sit in a circle for more than a couple of minutes without being reminded by the teacher to sit down. He has been especially aggressive - saying how he just wants to kick something or push his sister down. He has always been a restless sleeper, but just recently he has been telling me about his terrible dreams - things you would never expect to hear from a 4 yr old. I thought he was a hypochondriac b/c he was always complaining about something hurting. I was reading about ADHD and decided that maybe this was what he had - everything fit quite closely to these same behaviors. I called the pediatrician's office to see if this may be his diagnosis and instead they told me about the possibility that Singulair might be to blame. They told me take him off of it and see how things go. It has only been 3 days. I have not seen any improvement and his is very itchy and scratching like crazy. I'll let you know what we find out.

I love taking Ambien because it gives me about 5 to 6 hours of sleep. Prior to taking Ambien, I never slept through the night. The most sleep I ever had was a couple of hours here and there. I'd be up at night trying so hard to fall asleep. Now, I actually look forward to taking my pill and going to bed. It's less stressful knowing I am going to fall asleep. I wish I had started taking it a long time ago. I must admit to waking up in the morning and not remembering phone conversations. Also, on numerous occasions, I have found an empty bag of M & M's on my nightstand when I wake up in the morning! Absolutely no memory of getting out of bed and going into the kitchen and bringing candy up to bed. Maybe it was my dog, Bailey!

I'm writing for my mother. She was on 20mg of Lisinopril and her doctor insisted her violent coughs was from her asthma. Being an asthma sufferer her whole life and knowing the difference, she insisted it was not. He told her that this drug does not cause violent coughing as she described (but later admitted otherwise). I saw her in October and then in November for Thanksgiving and it looked as though she aged ten years! She was coughing badly, throwing up from coughing so violently and was white as a ghost and was extremely tired from not getting enough rest (from coughing). Everyone in the family told her to STOP taking the medication. She stopped taking it the day after Thanksgiving. It's been about five days and she is still coughing, although it's not nearly so bad, but she's taking pain medication (Hydrocodone) and I believe this narcotic has helped to subside the coughing, plus allow her to sleep, but masked the effects of the Lisinopril. Please, anyone, that has discontinued this medication, can you tell me how long to expect this drug to be out of her body? This has been an absolute nightmare and I'm so worried about her! Singulair has been a good thing for my 4yr old daughter. She has only had a few asthma symtoms since being on singulair. She has been on it for almost 3 years. The only issue I have had is that tonight my older daughter gave her a dose and I gave her a dose not knowing she already had one. Does anyone know if this can be a serious thing?

I have been taking Topomax for quite some time.Tried it several years ago, the mgs were not high enough (only 25mg/day).My doctor didn't really know the prpoer dosage.It didn't help the migraines.My new doctor has me on it again.50 mgs/day.Here's the good - NO MIGRAINES! Here's the bad: Acne at 45 years old, tingling doesn't even describe my legs or face, ringing in the ears, remembering names and places just doesn't happen, I'm eating less but gaining weight quickly,& one last thing- Itchy spots that I would describe as "hot spots" if I were speaking of my dog. Still sticking with it because I don't have the migraines.I tried to slowly take myself off and the headaches came back.What choice is there?

I just finished a 7-day dose of Levaquin prescribed for a mild UTI. I noticed that for the past week, I have not been feeling like "myself." I have experienced nausea, light-headedness, loss of appetite, weakeness, a bit of insomnia, and just plain old crappiness! I really thought it was just me at first because I took Levaquin about a year ago for the same problem and didn't have any side effects that I can recall. This time, however, they have been very prominent. Your comments really helped to shed some light. I feel better now knowing that my listlessness can probably just be attributed to the Levaquin. Glad I'm done with it!!!

I have been on Loestrin 24 fe for 12 days after years of no oral contraception. I noticed that on day 9, I started spotting. I am not very happy about this. How can you possibly feel like having sex knowing that you are bleeding and you don't know when it's going to stop? I am also very moody and depressed. I am normally a very happy person. I also noticed that I have been breaking out with acne. I have always been complimented on my complexion. I am not happy with the way it has made me out to be; therefore, I am going to stop taking it.

i had mirena inserted in jan 07...all was good thereafter spotting for a couple months...and when i finally got a "normal bleeding" i felt like i was in the bathroom every 20 minutes...there were times when i felt like i didn't deserve my family because i was so mean to them..i constantly pick on my husband just to see how mad i can get him..this is not me at all..i used to love being with him and just hanging out with the kids, but now i feel like i always wanna be away from them..I HATE THIS FEELING...there have been times when i felt dizzy..I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE BUT I FEEL A LIL BETTER KNOWING THAT IM NOT THE ONLY ONE GOING THRU THIS...I'M GETTIN ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW AND MAKING MY APPT TO TAKE THIS CRAP OUT! THANKS TO ALL U WHO EXPRESS THE REALITY OF THIS DAMN THING!!

CRAZY!!!! That is how I feel on this drug. I am a usually happy, easy going person and I have to say since I started this drug I feel depressed, anxious and nervous about everything. My husband was the first one to make the connection and if it weren't for this site I think I would be very worried about myself.

I have gained nearly 40lbs in almost 2 years since I got my Mirena. Nothing about my life style has changed. I have tried everything to lose the weight and can't drop a pound. I never know when i will get a period and never know for how long. I am extremely depressed and need some advice. My gyno says that there is no way my weight gain is from the mirena and all my blood work has been normal. HELP!

I WILL NEVER TAKE ANYTHING MADE FROMWARNER CHILCOTT AGAIN. This bc pill loestrin that you so highly speak of has cost me 8.000 in medical bills due to the dpression and everything else I had mentioned in previous post. You have made very hurtful post to not only me to several other people on this board. We are here to share or stories with others. I cannot sleep at night knowing what this pill has done to not only me but to several others. Maybe warner chilcott would like to pay my medical bills now. If I were you I would stay off these boards. If any of you ladies have realized that the doctors offices are stocked with femcon and loestrin. They do not have many samples of other drugs. This crap is toxic. If it works for you great but if not get on somthing else.

Just a word of encouragment to those contemplating having their Mirena removed. I was a bit frightened by the reports that removal was painful and caused severe bleeding. I had mine removed yesterday, and I must say, IN MY EXPERIENCE, the fear was much worse than reality. In fact, if it wasn't for the nurse saying "ok, honey, its out", I wouldn't have even known it was done and over with. For me, it was no worse than having a pap smear, and I had very little spotting for a few hours afterward and some very mild cramping, nothing like the cramps I have had while having it in. Just knowing it is out is a big relief, just didnt want anyone to delay having it removed for fear of that pain, everyone is different, but in my experience it was a breeze!

I have been taking Lisinopril for about 13 months. For about 13 months I have been coughing; gagging, choking coughing. Even vomited at times. I have been seeing doctors for over a year trying to get rid of this cough. I have had numerous tests, taking numerous medications trying to make this better. Two days ago an allergist told me about the side effects of this horrible drug. No other doctor has ever mentioned this. I also have trouble sleeping, waking up hourly or more coughing. I have also been sleeping a lot during the day which I attributed to depression before this. I can't believe I have gone this long without knowing. I immediately stopped taking this drug and have contacted my doctor for an alternative. I am hoping and praying that the coughing and other side effects will go away soon. This drug should be posted with large warnings when prescribed.

Had a terrible allergic reaction from it.
It started as cold like symptoms and my throat and nose were terribly inflamed. I thought I had just caught something.

By the third day of this though, still using the Clindamycin not knowing this was the cause, my throat was closed up so much that I had to go to an emergency care clinic to figure out what was happening, and that it was an allergic reaction from the topical. I could barely breathe, and I choked anytime I tried to eat or drink from the severe soreness and pain in my throat. I had a high fever, chills, and green mucus in my nose and running out of my throat from my nose.

Even after discontinuing the topical, I was inflamed and infected for over a week more.

I told my dermatologist about this, yet I looked on the sheet about it afterwards and they still only recorded that I got a "sore throat" from it, and that was why I could not use it again. It was a LOT worse than just a sore throat, it was potentially quite dangerous.

I was just put on Levaquin today, for a very bad urinary tract infection.
My doctor prescribed a 5 day treatment, i was suffering terribly.
Let me say, that after just taking the first one, how much better i
feel. Yes, i had some naucousness(however you spell it) but let me
tell you, compared to how i was feeling, which was horrible, in pain
frequent urination, burning, like a knife going through my urethra.
Feeling a bit sick to my stomach from this medication, was well
worth it, compared to how i was feeling....this drug has helped me
and i only took 1 so far, i was on this antibiotic before, and it
also helped me...When we take any type of medication, none
will be without some kind of side effect, to me, the side effect
is worth it, knowing im going to be better from the horrible
suffering. Its only a 5 day treatment, its not like you have to
take it for 1 mth...im a trooper and hang in there, nothing can
be worse than a serious urinary infection, i couldnt take it
anymore...this pill so far as helped me tremendously, maybe
you all should just hang in there for 5 days, and give it a
chance, just my opinion...! Good Luck to All!

I am a fourth year medical student and recently I started having horrible panic attacks, I feel like crying all the time and I actually feel depressed. I am a "hypochondriac" generally (I guess it comes with the territory of knowing about different diseases out there), but I have been feeling like I am going crazy. I started Yasmin in November of 2006 and I was fine for a few months. Lately, with stress at school and exams, I started feeling like I've just crumbled. I get anxiety/panic attacks (the latest one was at the movies), horrible heart palpitations, nausea, I am sweating, I can't sleep, I feel this knot in my stomach. It's horrible. I thought it was me cracking under pressure, but I was never like this before I started Yasmin. Recently, I was placed on an antidepressant because everyone assumed it was depression, but after reading this post, I really think it might be the pill. I got off it a week ago, so I hope I will see a difference. Thanks guys!!!

I started this medication about 3 months ago after learning from friends that it help them to reduce their cholestrol level.Eversince then I started to get this bloating sensation at my abdomen and eventually I seek a doctor for help not knowing this omega 3 has that side effect.
I have a ultrasound scan done and showed nothing except that they found 6tiny stones at my gall bladder but my Doctor doesnt believe that its the actual cause of my problem.He put me on some antispasmotic medication and told me to stop taking the Omega 3. Surprise! the bloating feeling disappear since then.

i have had breast pain almost monthly,acne, back pain, stomach is always bloated, i dont like the mirena i have had it in for a year now and after reading this and knowing it not just me, i want it out.

Just got back from the dr. She said it is definitly caused by Levaquin. The knee pain etc. is from this drug. She said it putme right over the edge after taking it for only one week. Hopefully it will subside. This is a powerful drug that attacks cartilage and joints and should not be used by people prone to arthritic conditions. Anyway, I feel better knowing I don"t have Lyme or anything more serious. GoodLuck to all of you out there, hang in there.Marsh

I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150 for a few months and I love it! The first few weeks were a bit hard because I felt constantly jumpy, nervous, and had a hard time sleeping. But there are side effects with almost everything for the first little while! Now that I've been on it for a while, I've noticed I'm losing weight, feeling energetic, and I feel hopeful about my life! Also I have a ridiculously increased sex drive. It may not be right for everyone, but for me it's been awesome so far.

I have been on Yasmin for about 9 months now and my side effects keep getting worse. I think it is time to try something esle but I am scared of what side effects I may have from a different pill. I feel tired ALL the time. It doesn't matter if I sleep 8 or 10 hours a night. On the weekends I take naps with my kids and still nothing! I have no desire to go to work and the only thing that gets me out of bed are knowing my kids need me. I could stay in bed and sleep all day. It is scary!!! The past 3-4 months I have noticed a few days before my period I get really depressed and am very emotional. For those few days every month I hate my life and everything seems to go wrong. I have never been one to have a pity party for myself but those few days I feel like the world is against me. I thought maybe I have some kind of problem and need to go to the doctor but after reading this and really thinking about when I started feeling so tired all points to the Yasmin. It amazes me that so many other people have problems. I am really going to my doctors now! Good Luck to you all.

I will inevitably have a traumatic grand mal seizure. The funny thing is, I have not experienced many of the side effects you guys speak of. I have gained some weight in the last few years (20lbs), but I'm also getting to that age ( 49 ) where guys put on a few pounds.

It is very scary knowing that my body (brain) could be this screwed-up !!
I wish my wife was more understanding about this - although its tough for her too...

I had a shot of kenalog in my knee for a problem I have when I run long distances. I was told that it would have a 50% chance of helping but it could prevent surgeries. He never mentioned side effects. After the injection- my period came a week late and lasted three days longer than normal. Four days after it ended I got another period. This one was accompanied by severe headaches(I never get headaches) This period lasted another nine days. I went for my follow up and questioned the doctor about it and he said he must have forgotten to mention it but that it can cause some hormone irregularities but that it should go away within a month. I have been so exhuasted and barely able to function. It was five days since my last period and now I got another one today! I am furiouse because I was trying to get pregnant! Now I am freaking out because I am seeing on this sight how long this can really last!

After all of us have had these same problems you think we would be able to sue the company. What can we do becuase I'm on board if you all want to have a class action law suit. How do we start it?
