I just got the Mirena fitted 2 days ago... I wish I would've found this website prior. I feel jipped because the doctor did not warn me how badly the fitting would hurt. So, while it was being fitted, I moaned and did everything possible to not scream. It hurt soooo bad!! When I got home, I had very bad cramps and, about every 5 minutes, I would get sharp, unbearable pains in my stomach. It felt worse than labor contractions. I called the doctor and he prescribed some pain meds but the cramps have persisted. I would like to get this monster removed but I'm scared that the removal will hurt as much as the insertion.

After reading all of these posts, I realize I'm not alone. Mirena was the perfect option for me because I'm very forgetful when it comes to medications. What sold me was when I was told it has a 99.9% effectiveness against getting pregnant. I was only told of the good things. After it was inserted i was in SEVERE pain from the cramping, it reminded me of labor contractions. I took 600mg of ibuprofen then layed down and cried myself to sleep. I got it July 28th, 2008. Since then I've been bleeding on and off but more bleeding than not. I get sharp, cramp-like pains in my lower stomach and sometimes vaginal area. I also suffer severe lower back pain. I was bleeding so bad at one point and it was very different from any period I'd ever had so I thought maybe I was miscarrying. I called the doctor and it was rather blown off and I actually got kind of laughed at, saying it's just your body adjusting. I have restless nights and wake up exhausted. I have those far out dreams like you do when you're pregnant, except I'm not. I also get bloated and uncomfortable at times. I've been bleeding now for almost a month straight. It comes and goes, which is very aggravating. I'd almost just thought about getting it taken out and just going with oral birth control that way I'd have a normal period but I love not having the boundaries in the bedroom. I'm giving it the 6months, like they told me it'd take and if all my symptoms are still present I'm considering removal.

I am in my 2nd week with Nuvaring and since I've had it put in, I've been extremely fatigued, sick feeling, cramps and bad gas. My tummy tightens up so bad it feels like labor contractions! I'm glad I found this because I needed to know if it could be the nuvaring. I'm taking it out TODAY!!! Thanks, Ladies for sharing... (and what is it with the nucaring smell? it makes the discharge have a chemical-like smell...)

I started taking Singulair several years ago and it did wonders for my asthma. I did not see the connection for a long time, but I had really bad rages and mood swings. It was terrible. I just thought I was being very hormonal or stressed out from work or something. I became pregnant with my daughter and I stopped taking the med. Unfortunately my asthma got really bad about 5 months into it and my oxygen stats were getting to the point where I had to get back on it. My doctor said it was safe. Maybe it's just coicidence but my baby was extremely active in the womb. She was born and I nursed her for 6 mos. She was very irritable and high needs and had a hard time getting settled. She is now 6 years old. She has always been very emotional, lacks some impulse control, and is still very high needs and defiant. It is getting better with age somewhat. I took her to a psychologist and my daughter was found to be very intelligent but had autistic like qualities at times. She does not have true autism. She also had sensory processing problems that are getting better with time. I also continued to have the spells of anger and sarcasm. I never took it out on my daughter but I did take it out on my husband. I was also depressed but not clinically depressed and suffered from back pain constantly.

I became pregnant with my second daughter and I went into preterm labor with her about halfway into the pregnancy. The medicine I was given to stop the labor contractions was an older asthma med, so I got off Singulair at that time. My mood lifted but I did not get the connection. I just figured it was bedrest and being more rested in general. When I had her I went back on the Singulair. I had more anger, mood swings, etc. Was just not a happy person even though I *wanted* to be happy. My daughter was born with severel food intolerances and ended up on a stomach feeding tube. She has eosinophilic esophagitis, a rare condition where the body recognizes all or most foods as allergens and there is inflammation of the esophagus. She cannot eat any foods now at all, just her special medical food. She is 3.

I stopped taking the Singulair about a year ago. I have felt myself lifted up and I feel like a new person. I decided to start a new career and am taking classes. I have more energy, sleep better, no back pain, and am a better wife and mother. I only fear that my children may have been harmed from me taking this during pregnancy. I am especially worried about my first daugher's mood swings and such. She is a very intense person. I wonder if her developing brain was affected somehow. She acts like I acted on Singulair but there is no easy cure for her of taking her off of it. My second daughter has the severe allergic condition. I wonder if somehow the Singulair affected her immune system response. The disease that she has is emergent and new and increasing in number all the time. I would love to see a study on what their moms took in pregnancy, because the disease seems to happen in families where there is a history of asthma/allergies.

Started Cipro 3 days ago and had severe abdominal cramps a couple hours after my morning dose yesterday. Didn't associate the two. After a couple of hours the pain subsided.

Later that night, I took my evening dose and within 2 hours the severe pain came back even worse than earlier . I almost went to the emergency room. It was as bad as labor contractions.

Pain lasted about 5 hours. Did not take my dose this morning and no pain (just tenderness from yesterday)

my 10 year old daughter was put on singulair by an infectious disease doctor that had seen some improvements in kids taking this who have chronic sinus infections and swelling of sinus tissues...my daughter showed an improvement in sinus problems but noticed a 20 pound weight gain from 62 to 82 pounds in a few months..owed this to better health from pill and tonsil/sinus surgery...went off singulaire that summer...at Christmas my daughter caught a bad cold which turned into a potentially fatal frontal sinus infection from infected swelling frontal sinus (called Pott's Puffy Tumor)...she was put on IV antibiotics and singulair..she takes nasonex and sudafed regularly and does daily sinus rinsing...since starting the singulair again she is increasingly hungry and she is gaining weight again...slightly moody, never feels full...but the new symptom is pain in her side at the lower rib cage..this started after singulair for 2 months...the pain wraps around her side and reaches to her navel area...last night she woke up with severe cramping in her stomach every 10 minutes like labor contractions....after an hour she developed all over hives and was having hot flashes during the cramping...she had just taken her second dose of Entex which is an expectorant to thin her sinus mucous...at the time of these symptoms she has been off her IV drugs for 3 weeks...so these other posts really make me suspect singulair for weight gain and abdominal/rib pain and cramping..anyone with similar symptoms?..
