I have had pins and needles feeling in my fingers and toes, pretty strong too, I've been on Topamax before so I knew what to expect, I've had the loss of appetite and the soda tasting flat, as well. Some confusion with words, not being able to put together a complete sentence, like you know what you are trying to say but it's not coming out correctly. There may be times where you are somewhat staring off into space. My neurologist explained all of the side effects to me before prescribing me drug but also gave it to me as sor of like a ladder, to where I could build up to it so the side effects are not as bad, I went from 25 mg 4 night to 50mg at night for 4 night, then 75mg for 4 nights now I'm on 100 mg at night, so I've gotten used to it again, I still get the pins and needles and the confusion but if someone is considering taking Topamax, ask your doctor about trying to build up to it first by doing 25, 50,75 then 100.

Hello To All,

Does anyone know of any study done in a medical journal that theu could forward to me so I can show my doctor.
Please email me at ****** I would be so very thankful.
Thanks to all and be healthy.

This pill is wretched. The first week, I bled straight through it. The second week, I had terrible migraines and I couldn't stand up from the amount of abdominal pain I was in. Now my breasts are so tender that I have to sleep with not only my usual bra on, but a shelf bra tank top too. And I have been nauseous since I started taking them. I've lost about 8 pounds in three weeks. I'm wondering if this is normal for the upper dosage low-dose bc pills. I was on Ortho Tri-cyclen lo about two years ago but I had a lot of spotting. (even that pill made me nauseous.) Since then I've been steadily moving up the ladder of potency in terms of these pills, but how bad will these side effects become? Will they go away?

I am 70 years old. I got bursitis in my right hip after climbing up and down a ladder during a kitchen remodel. The doctor gave me a shot of Kenalog in my sore hip and within a week I had a small lump at the injection site. Within a month it was the size of a walnut. The doctor gave me 2 different doses of antibiotics followed by surgery to remove the lump. I went into shock during this simple surgery and was in bed for a week. Less than a month later I started experiencing severe hot and cold flashes. After $250 blood/urine tests, the doctor said I was going through the 'change' again and I am now on Premarin (hormone) At 70 years old??? Why? In addition, the scar from the surgery is still red and inflamed and it's been 6 weeks.

I have had a TERRIBLE time. 3 months-of almost non stop bleeding (3 1/2 weeks, 2 1/2 weeks and 16 days and counting )and I do already have overactive bladder but now all the sudden if I don't run to the bathroom as soon as I have to pee(even if my ladder is not full) or if i sneeze I pee myself and i am 29!!-this never used to happen!! My obgyn finally decided to switch me to the pill thats 3 months of active and 1 week of sugar. The whole reason i tried this was bc my periods were beginning to get longer (7-8 days) and this made them so much worse. She did a biopsy and an ultrasound both of which were normal. I already have a non-hormonal iud (which i have had for 3 years) but we left it in bc i take topamax (which decreased the effectiveness of birth control) for migraines so i need the iud for birth control. im just trying something else to improve my periods and obviously this is not it! i am beginning to wonder if the topomax also causes an increase in bleeding too...
