First 3 months of my 6 month stint with this pill were great. Like some of you, I bragged about the pill. I'm 29 with a 4yr old and have had my cycle since I was 10. Have been on every imaginable pill since age 14. Never and I repeat never have I ever felt hopeless, depressed, pathetic. I have picked fights with my hubby over anything and apologize seconds later. I have lost patience with my child which is the worst. I don't want to do anything. I lose track of thoughts and motivation is non existent. This pills kicks in slowly around month 4 and then will gradually pull you further down. This was to help with water weight gain and to help with migraines, and to help cramping. I have gained 27.5 lbs in the 6 months I was on this crap. my blood pressure is low which is not common for people who have recently gained excessive weight. My migraines are worse and a daily occurrence. Periods are even harder, longer and painful. Acne has never been an issue, my periods are even more horrendous from day 1 thru 5 which is 2 days longer than I have ever gone. I am now into month 3 of being off ALL bc and the weight is almost harder to get off. I work out everyday and have cut calories down to 1200.. and have amazing water weight to boot. My obgyn who prescribed this has canceled my last 3 appts. She believes I have no side effects and that cramping can be eased by midol and exercise. My childhood family doctor has put me on lasix and potassium and is awaiting my arsenal of blood tests results he ordered Friday. I suggest any other option besides this pill. I am not on anything as I stated before and my sex drive is still quite non existent as well.

My mother is on levaquin for a urinary tract infection which had gotten worst than we thought . The infection had set up in pockets behind her rectum. She is on levaquin, and other medicines such as; digoxin, metoprolol, lipitor, diltiazem and lasix. I am so afraid she is on medicines that can do more harm than good. She also suffers from congested heart failure. After she returned home from the hospital stay she extremely weak, is this a results of taking the antibiotic ( levaquin or a combination of all of the drugs listed above)?

Alright, listen. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for those who have found this site. My story was posted on June 20th. I would have to say that I cannot trust any doctors for anything since then. This web site has saved me money from the idiot doctors and my insanity. Really. It is so scary that when you go to the doctor they will never investigate your meds you are taking and will send you through many tests and prescribe you medicine that you don't need. I went through 4 different doctors multiple times that prescribed many different things with no effect to my condition. I went off Lisinopril and went back on Diovan and it took 8 days before I noticed any improvement. During those 8 days I got more depressed because I didn't feel any better. Then my symptoms started going away. My anxiety and coughing started to decrease. By the second week i did not need the help of sleeping pills to knock me out due to the anxiety at night and the gagging and coughing decreased.Since then I am almost back to normal. I still though have some symptoms of coughing, but not that bad. If you found this site and taking Lisinopril, please take note that your doctor is probably wrong. You are not going to die. Get off the da#m med and start living again. It may take longer than me. Don't get discouraged. It may take more than a month or so. Stay strong. I am pissed off and would love to beat the s&it out of the ones that created Lisinopril. I know we are the small % that has the effects, but get it off the market. People are dead from this med and the others are going though Hell......I feel for the ones who have had family members that have died from allergic reactions. I had an undiagnosed throat swelling that took me to the ER. I know what it was now...Take care, stay strong, get off Lisinopril, enjoy the rest of your life...

Ran into friend at grocery store with mystery illness. Docs attribute it to Agent Orange exposure. Been at death's doorstep for a year. Hands were extremely cold and has little energy. Showed up one day at golf course with oxygen bottle! Asked him if he had taken Levaquin. Unfortunately had. Docs again fail to link antibiotic exposure to his ailments.
I wonder how many illnesses and deaths this poison has caused? Why does the FDA allow this crap? Do you people realize that the average person is clueless about the side effects of drugs like this. Put total confidence and their well being in the hands of ignorant docs and profit crazed drug companies.
Ignorant oncologist failed to link my dad's symptoms to Levaquin, instead attributed them to b-cell lymphoma which just happened to suddenly appear. Rituxan and numerous other drugs (Heparin, Lasix, Gamma globulin, Tylenol, antibiotics, Insulin, steroids, Flowmax, etc.) was too much. A fiasco, people think he died of lymphoma. Was walking three miles a day before taking Levaquin, for an undiagnosed lung infection.

I have type2 diabetes and as i've read in so many of the postings of side effects that bloating was a big problem. I had this same problem. My physician immediately prescribed Lasix (furosimide - $4.00 at Walmart) and Spironolactone. These are both diuretics. I take the Lasix twice a day and the Spironolactone once a day. The Spironolactone protects against Potassium loss that comes with diuretics. My feet up to my knees were huge. At one point I couldn't even see the ends of my toes. The pain was horrible. After staring these, I lost 60 pounds in two weeks of fluid!!!!! Please talk to your physician about these. They gave me the relief that I needed. A. in Austin

I LOVE LANTUS!!! I was diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic in December 2008 when my blood sugar was 550 and I weighed 265 lbs. I am a 51 year old 6'tall woman. My physician prescribed 55units of Lantus am and again pm. My blood sugar now is between 80 and 110, and my weight is 180lbs. I take Lasix and Spironolactone for any swelling and have felt great ever since. I'm sure i'm very fortunate, but I must stress to be under the watchful eye of your Physician. Yes, there are other hormones that help with blood sugar levels, but please understand that it depends on the type and severity of you diabetes. I also can't understand anyone who has been told by two different physicians that she needs insulin but won't believe them. These physicians have nothing to gain financially from this. I just hope you have good insurance. If Lantus isn't right for you, fine, but PLEASE get professional guidence if you have Diabetes. The internet is NOT always the most informed source of information. A. in Austin

I was prescribed Dexpak for sudden severe pain in my back. The pain was gone the third day but the side effects of this drug are so horrible that I will never take it again. Besides the common steroid side effect of sleeplessness, on day 4 I started noticing vision problems, cloudiness of my eyes. On day 5 my taste was gone and my tongue felt like I had burned it with hot liquid. The tongue also started blistering. Then my legs started swelling so bad that my socks left about a 1" rim above my ankles. On day 8 I was done with this drug. 2 hours sleep per night, extreme mood swings, depression, heavy acid reflux and stomach pain, constant and excessive urination and incontinence, the skin on my hands extremely dry and cracking and the worst, my tongue and gums so swollen and painful that I could hardly eat right and decided to taper off early. I went 2 more days 2 - 1 and 1 - 1, then I quit. First steroid free day I awoke with a massive candida albicans outbreak under my breast about the size of a dinner plate. By the evening my knees were abnormally swollen and painful and I was scared to fall asleep because my heart was pounding like a hammer. Next day I was hardly able to get out of the bed. My hands were looking worse and I developed very painful bumps on the skin of my skalp. The slightest stroke of the hair brush hurt. All my leg joints were hurting, my face and eyes were swollen, I had pressure behind my eyes and sensitivity to light, and a debilitating headache. I felt so bad, that I thought I would die. Went to the doctor that evening just to hear that all these are side effects (which I was not told when starting this drug) and was released with Lasix for the excessive fluid and Candida medication and the order to have my eyes checked. I have taken steroids before but never ever experienced such serious side effects. Wished I had never started this and had rather dealt with the back pain then going through this cruel ordeal!

I was diagnosed with SLE (lupus) when I was 14, I'm 21 now, and I've had to be on prednisone all this while. The dosages alternate between 60mg (the highest) and 2.5mg (the lowest), I just went for a routine check up today and found out that my protein level in my urine is at an all time high. So the doctor is pushing me back up to 30mg of prednisone. Its 2 am, and I am sitting in bed crying because I don't want to have to go through everything again; the weight gain, the moon-face, everything. I know I may sound shallow, because ultimately, the medicine is keeping me alive, but the side effects are terrible. Very few people understand that its not fat that you're gaining, and the remarks that I know I am going to get are enough to drive me insane. Is there anyway the water retention or the weight gain can be stopped or decreased?

I have been taking lotrel 10/20 for approx. 3 months. I now have an uncontrollable cough, insomnia multiple times during the night, constantly waking to urinate. My doctor has prescribed an inhaler and also increased the meds to 10/40 due to my BP being140/96, he has even placed me on a lasix. I am often tired after working 12-17 hrs, this due to the mandates of the JOB, or is it "THE LOTREL". I was on Hazar but the cost was astronomical even with health coverage. Walmart ($8) but not woth the side effects, I'm requesting the Hazar or just go to the V.A.

I have been on Topamax since August 2005. This spring I began to have odd problems that I did not attribute to the drug. In April, my doctor prescribed Lasix for swelling in my legs and feet. In August I developed peripheral neuropathy in my legs and feet and began experiencing numbness in my chin and lower face. My doctor prescribed Lyrica for the peripheral neuropathy. Also in August, I began experiencing extreme fatigue and sleepiness. I became depressed and irritable. By September was falling asleep everywhere--even driving. I was exhausted because I awoke from sleep feeling totally unrested. I had a sleep study done and they told me I spent only 25% of the normal amount of time in the two deeper stages of sleep. At the beginning of November, I suddenly became plagued with excessive thoughts of suicide one Friday evening. I decided to stop all my meds, except the antidepressant. Within 48 hours I felt MUCH better. No obsessive thoughts and no more falling asleep. I felt like a giant weight had been lifted from my shoulders. By Thursday I was feeling rested when I awoke in the mornings. I looked up all my meds, including the clinical trials with ALL the side effects and recommendations on Tuesday of that week. Lasix increases the potency of the Topamax and has many of the same bad side effects as the Lyrica I was prescribed--sleep disturbance, depression, dry mouth, etc., etc. Since stopping those medications the first of November, Topamax, Lasix, and Lyrica, I have returned to normal. Even the peripheral neuropathy is MUCH better. No swelling or sleepiness or fatigue. No more irritability or deep depression. Definitely no thoughts of suicide. I can taste food again. And none of the migraines for which the Topamax was prescribed. My doctor is pleased that I am feeling so much better and concurs with the action I took. The medications were apparently interacting with one another and multiplying the intensity of the side effects. So, if you take multiple medications, please go to the clinical studies themselves and read about ALL the side effects uncovered in the studies. On the prescription information we get at the pharmacy, it lists only those discovered at "high incidence", including interactions with other medications.

I have been on Flomax less than a week. Already I am seeing signs of mental confusion, being drowsy to the point of almost falling asleep at inopportune times, muscle cramps, and a dull ache in the area of the prostate.

Flow was good prior to starting Flomax. It has improved slightly but so has a sense of urgency. It seems to be acting a bit like a diuretic in that I am going a lot more frequently and with high volume and good pressure.

Diuretics can cause a loss of potassium, which can result in severe muscle cramps or spasm. I have had a charley horse in the calf, a foot that cramped up when I stood on it, and a tightening of the abdomen such that I could see a lump in one area. One must wonder if these are related.

The precautions include watching for heard palpitations. The heart is a muscle, isn't it? I would not want that muscle cramping up.

Perhaps the doctor thinks it advisable to attain perfection in urinary performance. But perhaps it is better to go through life with a slight problem that will likely not change, and also without irritating a gland that is prone to cancer. In reading the postings here it would seem that this medical perfection comes at a great cost.

I have been on Advair for a little over two years. At first I thought it was very helpful, I had a very rough summer last year and it was the only thing helping me. But lately I've noticed an increase in frequency of my migraines, muscle cramps, constant edema in my legs and always being tired. My sleep is broken due to leg cramps, back spasms, or very strange dreams. I had also gained a lot of weight, but thought it was just natural slowing of my metabolism due to age (I am 46). I am cutting back to one dose a day and plan to stop altogether soon. I also stopped my Zocor because that seemed to make my leg swelling worse and the lasix the doctor prescribed just made me pee a lot and my legs were just as swelled up as before.

To send a report to the FDA about Lipitor and the side effects, go to ****** Hopefully, if enough people will complain about this dangerous drug, the FDA will ban it and it will be off the market.

I had bladder surgery and was given levaquin 500 mg. I took 1 pill when I got home that day and my entire face was swollen and I was also sweating and definitely couldn't even think of falling asleep. My mind was going crazy and to try to tell you how I felt it was kinda like I was in someone elses body looking through their eyes, it's the weirdest feeling I have ever had, I didn't know that it was the medication at first because I just thought I was feeling bad from the surgery and them putting me to sleep. The next day I took another pill, same thing felt really really bad, got up on the third day went to work and left in an ambulance. They told me it's because of this medicine and what's in it. I still feel really weird and typing this letter is killing my wrist. I don't know why because I am on the computer a lot before all of this and never a problem. I wish I knew what was going on with me. I feel like I am going out of my mind, and my swelling is no better. My husband even ask me if I took my lasix and I already did and still swelled up in the face. Any feedback would be great. please help.

I have been on prednisone on and off most of my life. I have sysyemic lupus and many other medical diagnosis--but I had a svere rash all over that didn't respond to PO steroids--even high doses--100 mg a day. I saw my dermatologist and she said the Kenalog wud clear it right up--not once did she mention ANY side effects. Now, I know me--and how I respond to medications. While on prednisone--I have to take sleeping pills, and anti-anxiety agents or I become truly psychotic. But I am telling you what--I have NEVER had such a psychotic--nervous reaction to anything. I was like a different person and taking 10 mg of valium, ambien and resperdal did NOTHING to combat theanxiety and psychosis caused by the kenalog---not sure if its metabolized differently than the PO steroids but I truly could not sit still for days after getting the injection. But I am telling ya--IT WORKED!!! In about 72 hours this horrific psoriasis looking rash was drying up and disappearing. I had no problem with it leaving a mark in my buttocks either--I just checked to make sure--but--this is a miracle medication--but the side effects are HORIYFYING!!!!!! iN FACT, i HAVE THE RASH BACK--MY pcp THINKS ITS FROM LUPUS AND ONCE AGAIN THE PO STEROIDA SRE DOING NOTHING--SO i AM GOING BACK TO THE DERMATOLOGIST TO GET ANOTHER SHOT--BUT WILL DEFIANTLY GET A PRESCRIPTION FOR xanax, valium AND ANYTHING TO MAKE ME SLEEP AND NOT GET THE PSYCHOSIS.Oh---it does causeyou to gain weight---I gained close to 25 pounds in 10 days and have yet to lose it. and I have been on steroids most of my life and not gained that much--EVER!!!!! And LASIX does nothing for the fluid retention and swelling. MY heart felt as tho it was gonna beat out of my chest--and my heart rate and blood pressure went sky high--and I am on caridzem 120, and toprol for HBP. If you can tolerate the side effects--than this medication will treat whatever ails ya!!!

I'm a 44 year old female, and I have been taking 40mg. of lisinopril for over a year now. I also take omeprazole 20 mg. (a sub for prilosec) every day. Before taking lisinopril, I did have high blood pressure, but since taking this medication, I have had more problems than that. I have an irritating cough all the time and phlegm in my throat so thick that I feel as if I am chocking to death. I also have a severe rash all over my body and on the bottoms of my feet, and on my hands. I am depressed all the time, have no interest in sex whatsoever, and basically feel like crap all the time. I have a very bad pain in the left side of my neck that I know is not a result of sleeping the wrong way. I have to say, I never felt this way before taking this medication, but today I got to the point that I wanted to look up side effects to see if what I'm taking is hurting me. After reading some of these posts, I believe I know what my problem is. My husband was also on lisinopril, but 20mg and had such a terrible cough that we thought he had pneumonia. He is off the medication now, and his cough had disappeared. For me, the rash, and depression is the biggest thing. I have decided to take myself off this medication on my own, and try to find another way to deal with my high blood pressure. If you know of any herbs, and/or foods that help with blood pressure, I would love to hear about them. Thank you all for the information you have posted here. I'm sure it will help others think about what the doctors and pharmaceutical companies are trying to do to us. Seems the more medications they prescribe, the worse side effects we endure. Thanks again everyone!

Lisinopril is poison, literally!!!! I have had high blood pressure in the past and recently it became a bit too high. My doctor placed me on Lisinopril. I am 41 years old and have NEVER had any problems with my heart rate. After just 5 days of taking this poison I had to be rushed to the hospital with a heart rate of 178 bpm!!!! 2 days later I have intense kidney pain. I am glad I found this site to answer my questions. My cardiologist's nurse's response when I asked her if the Lisinopril caused my kidney pain "Oh no, it couldn't be the medicine". The ER doctor's response when I asked him if Lisionpril could have caused the rapid heart rate "Oh no, it couldn't be the medicine". What are these people on????????? It's like the work for the medicine companies! I can't wait to show the nurse all of the stuff I have printed out about Lisinopril.....No one should ever take this poison, ever!!!!!!!! Stop before you take it and don't take it. It has even killed people before from kidney failures. Read up about it first, I wish I had..........now I am stuck with it in my system and don't know how long before it comes out completely.

I was on Prednisone for just over two weeks for a bad skin rash (allergic reaction). I went to the ER they gave me an injection on Prednisone. The next day my Doctor puts me on 40mg a day for 10 days then down to 20mg, and then 10mg. The side effects were (and are) crazy. Blood sugar and Blood pressure are through the roof. My heart pounds, races, skips beats. Hands shaking, nervous, and panic attacks. Yeah, sure, the rash is gone, but I feel like a train wreck. I took my last dose 2 days ago, and have been told it can take 2 to 4 weeks for this to get completely out of my system and end the side effects. Can anybody else verify this?? Good god, what a mess!!

Last week, I was prescribed to take Lasix, along with Klor-Don (potassium supplement) for Congestive Heart Failure. Also Levaquin for pneumonia.

I returned to doctor, to state that the Lasix was not having an effect on my urinary habits at all.

SO, the doctor prescribed 60mg Lasix per day, 30mg Klor-Don per day, with an additional 5mg og Lisinopril per day.

Now, everything I read about Lisinopril, is that it should not be taken with Lasix, or any potassium additive stuff.

Plus all the side symptoms that lead to my first prescriptions, are exactly the side effects of Lisinopril. How in the world would I ever know anything was working?

Also, my BP is 108/81. Doesn't look high to me.

Any thoughts? I watched my Dad wither away after being presented additional prescriptions when ones weren't working. To me, it complicated his problems. I'm not about to get into the same piss*** contest with doctors & prescriptions.

I had adriamycin in 2002. I have been having bloating, prickliness and pain in my fingers including muscle spasums and feet. My physician informed me that is part of the side effects of adriamycin. I am still having congestive heart problems-retaining liquids. So my physicians increased Lasix to 80 mg a day. I am not sure, but I still have problems with stiff muscles in my knees and thighs.

I am a 34 year old male. I have been on 80mg of Prednisone 7 days a week for 2 months now. I will be getting my dosage lowered to 60mg tomorrow but am having a difficult time dealing with the Moon face, eye bags, acne, and sleepless nights. I go to the gym 4 times a week and am in shape other than this freak fake head it looks like I have now. Has anyone been able to find a way to make the effects not so noticable..as in diurex or diet pills. I would like to try anything but want to be safe at the same time. Thanks for any help and god bless. David

I'm 40 yrs old and was prescribed Lisinopril on July 2. For at least a month or so I've been experiencing constipation and headaches on occasion. The leg cramps happen every night though. My scalp has been very tender in areas, my throat is sore, I have the nagging cough, my vision seems to have gotten worse, and my skin itches miserably. I have headaches, which I thought were sinus headaches, but sinus meds didn't help. Yesterday the itching got so bad, I took Benadryl, which helped...I also slept VERY well...I went to the Dr today. He looked at my arms and back which were red and splotchy. He told me to stop taking the Lisinopril and we'll watch my BP. I'm hoping that all these things go away soon. I was beginning to think it was all in my head.
