Hi, I am 51 years old and 10 days ago had a Mirena fitted as I have been having very heavy period bleeding for the 3 months. I was tossing up between an ablation (burning of the uterus lining) or having the Mirena. As my Aunt was thrilled with her Mirena I thought it would be a safe choice and it wouldn't be as traumatic on the body. I have had continual lower back and pelvic pain. I was quite scared last Friday that I rang the Specialist. I spoke to the nurse as the Doctor was away and she arranged a Pelvic Ultrasound. The technician told me that the Mirena was in the right place and everything seemed fine but every time they were scanning my left side I was in terrible pain. I haven't heard from the Specialist yet (will ring them shortly). The back/pelvic pain is so sharp at times that I can't move. I've just rang the Specialist and will see them tomorrow morning, fingers crossed this can be sorted out.

I am a 24 yr old mother of two, and my family is incredibly fertile, so I hav to be on BC. I had mirena put in last Friday at my six week postpartum appt. It was highly uncomfortable going in ( I am very sensitive though), and when I sat up I immediately asked the Doc if I was supposed to feel it in there. He said there was no way, and that should go away. I started spotting and continued to do so for two days, until I started bleeding HEAVY on the third day. My lower stomach and back have been killing me ever since. I have even resorted to taking my leftover pain pills from delivery! My sex drive dropped off immediately (very unlike me) and for the first time in my life I was really having "depression" symptoms. I am normally such a happy person. Needless to say I had it removed a week later (yesterday) and my libido returned that day, and I am my happy self again. I am still bleeding very heavy however, my uterus and back still ache and last night the pain was shooting all the way down my legs, so bad I couldn't sleep. I have some kind of nerve sensitivity disorder ( I feel things other people never feel). So I should have known better than to have some foreign object shoved inside my uterus. I couldn't be happier that it is out, and I cannot wait be back to "normal" again. I am happy for all the women it works for, but it sure seems like this is a big pain for a lot of women. I wish I had done my research first! BC pills it is for me!

I had a mirena put in 5 years ago and had some weight gain and problems with ovarian cysts. My Dr. never told me the cysts might be related. They are extremely painful when they rupture - like having appendicitis. I had that one removed and then a new one put in three weeks ago. I have never been so sick in my life. I was unable to hold down food for 12 days and unable to get out of bed for 8. After that I started having severe ovarian cysts on both ovaries with one rupturing last Friday. I now have a metallic taste in my mouth that has basically destroyed my ability to eat. My breasts are very tender and I have had faintng spells. I am not sure if they changed the medication in the last 5 years but this is ridiculous. I think I am going to have this thing taken out at the 6 week check up. I am finished with kids and it is not worth it.

I was diagnosed with Chrohn's in February. I am 25 years old. I was put on prednisone and asacol to control my systems. I was on 40mg then down to 20mg and finally last Friday 5/22 after weening off I was off the drug completely. I also had EN (a complication of Chrohn's) with severe pain, swelling and bruising in the feet and legs. In fact that was the only reason I went to the doctor, I was just dealing with everything for years. With Prednisone I experienced a slight moon face but also a huge bloated, pregnant like belly, it's awful. I have to hide it with baggy shirts. I also gained about 20 lbs, I have abdomen pain, hair on my upper lip, my ear clogs and clicks, insomnia, insane amount of energy. Oddly though people have been saying they are moody, the good thing the drug did was put me in an excellent mood all the time and took away my acne.
My Question: When do these side effects go away, I have been off for a week. Primarily the bloated stomach and weight gain. I know it takes a while, but how long???

Horrible experience with amoxicillin, which was prescribed for a nasty sinus infection. Major nausea, fatigue, feeling lightheaded and dehydrated. All I wanted to do was to sleep. Missed 2 weeks from work. The nausea was completely debilitating. But curiously, get hungry at the same time was feeling nauseated. When I do get some food, I have to force myself to eat it. Also had major headaches. Got sort of paranoid that something else was seriously wrong with me!
Have been off amoxicillin for a little over a week. Feeling VERY depressed and hopeless. I want so bad to get back to my normal life, but it is like I have no energy or desire to push on. I have to literally FORCE myself out of bed and to work. Very concerned here and do not want to have to start taking an antidepressant. Does anyone know how long these effects will last or what I can do? Doctor gave me an additional prescription for Cipro, but I am afraid to take it because I feel like I am trapped in a vicious cycle and these feelings will only get worse. I am not used to taking meds!!

I had the Mirena put in 6 months ago. Since that time I have experienced waves of nausea, heart palpitations, excessive weight gain, depression, moody, foggy thinking, no sex drive, continual bleeding and more aches and pains than I can shake a stick at.
I spent 5 hrs in the hospital yesterday after having heart palpitations and thinking I was going to die. I have a heart time breathing as well.
I asked my ob/gyn to remove it but she talked me out of it. I finally had enough and don't care about those with "well meaning" advice. I'm getting it taken out tomorrow and tell every women I know stay as far from the Mirena as possible.
I'm so glad there are these sites to share experiences with other women, it makes you feel as those you aren't alone. The pharmaceutical companies should be held accountable for what the Mirena has done to women.

I had been taking this for years and about three-four yrs ago they changed generic. I had horrible stomach and abdominal problems. Not diarrhea or constipation but pain swelling bloating and feeling a lump in ab. Went to cts, ultrasounds, 3 colonoscopies, endoscopy, pill camera,I went through 3 primary care doctors. Had emergency hosp.visits. Doctors.started getting to think I was crazy That made me depressed to the point I didn"t want to see anyone or go any where. Not one Dr. suggested it could be one of my meds. By accident over the Christmas holidays I ran out of my lisinopril hctz. within 3 days I felt normal again Swelling in ab stopped and most of pain.ever gonna get near that poison again.# months later Im doing a lot better I actually feel good .Its amazing I think it caused me a rare reaction called intestinal angioedema .That is basically hives on your insides. Could be dangerous if esophogeous is involved I lucked out.I did have wheezing and shortness in breathing .People Beware Its a dangerous drug.

I was so glad to find this website. I was feeling terrible after having the Mirena in for around a year. I started looking online when I woke up several days in a row feeling so bad and nauseous that I was worried I was pregnant!
I was very fatigued, achy, having trouble sleeping, having strange acne breakouts on weird parts of my body, terrible abdominal cramps - yet no period, bowel problems, VERY slow to heal my sports strains/sprains, nauseous, random headaches (and I have NEVER been prone to headaches), odor, crotch drop, hair loss, forgetfulness, BAD mood swings/depression, dehydration. I looked and felt like I had aged 10 years...All this time I was blaming it on having a two kids, getting older, stress, etc.
Well, thanks to this site, I had my Mirena removed last week. I had no ill side effects from the removal and had a normal period for the first time in about 6 months. I felt incredibly better in a few days! I have more energy, I have slept much more soundly - the dark circles around my eyes are diminishing and I look much better. My routine bumps and bruises from soccer and taekwondo are healing at a normal pace and I don't feel achy all the time. Basically I feel great, and I hadn't for a long time. I feel like myself again.
If you have ANY of these symptoms that everyone is talking about...don't write it off to anything else, and don't let your doctor tell you it's due to other things. You know your body and what is normal. If you are wondering at all why you feel bad - get the thing OUT and do it NOW! (My GYN was very understanding and compliant to my request, but still insisted that my symptoms were most likely due to stress than anything else). At least you will have peace-of-mind knowing that you eliminated the IUD as a cause of your symptoms. You can always have a new one put in if you find that not to be the case.
I hope this site is correct regarding the class action lawsuit, because I am seriously considering joining it. Mom's have it hard enough without this IUD complicating their lives further!

I got the Mirena in August 2008 after having our second child. We thought it was a great idea b/c I wasn't ready for my husband to have a vasectomy in case we ever did change our mind about having more children. Although, we definitely have decided that we won't have anymore. Anyways, I have had spotting ever since and the three months of spotting is a joke because it has been way longer than that! The last two days I have had SEVERE lower back pain through the tops of my legs aching. Reminded me of having back labor it was so terrible. I couldn't sleep at night good because it was awful. I called my doc today and I am having it removed tomorrow. Can't wait!!!! I just wished I had read this website before I had decided on Mirena. And the comment I read about the hurt you experience having it inserted is the darn truth! If I had knew that I wouldn't have gotten it either. Besides that, my doc had to clamp my cervix while trying to insert it...so needless to say it was horrible!!!!!!!

i had my mirena taken out October 08 as i am 40 this year and wanted to have another child.i had suffered with terrible back aches and tiredness with the coil in so was revealed to finally have it taken out thinking all would go back to normal and that it would only take me a short time to conceive as i always had done in the past. now i find that my cycle will only last about 3 weeks and a couple of days. after i have ovulated i find that i feel very sicky really really tired, i feel dizzy and find it hard to focus sometimes my boobs will stay very tender right up until my period has kicked in and i can feel very low for no reason. i never had any of these symptoms before the mirena and i am still trying to fall pregnant. i no my gp will say its my age but i don't believe that i am still very young for my age and take care of myself. this is all since having the mirena.

Hi there, I also thought I was going crazy...I've always been in touch with my emotions and have dealt with them in healthy ways, for example doing a lot of yoga and getting outside and being active. I got the Mirena inserted in July of 2008 when my son was almost a year old. I got one period, then nothing. At first it was just fine, I noticed the decrease in sex drive but I thought it was because of disagreements with my husband. Then the motion sickness and panicky feelings kicked in around Christmas. I haven't slept well since the summer- to the point of seeing a doctor for insomnia. The motion sickness has been the hardest part- I started getting motion sick on a ski chairlift for crying out loud!!!! After I found this website I feel "saved"! I had the thing taken out last Friday, and still not feeling myself. I just hope that I can flush this toxic energy from my body. Has anyone considered some type of cleanse? Best wishes to all of you, and big hugs.

Hi Ladies,
I've had the mirena in for about 3 1/2 years. I have in the past recommended it. About 4 months after it was put in, I had no periods and according to my ob/gyn, this was absolutely normal for the mirena. I loved it, having 4 children, who has time for a period. I have always struggled with my weight and I've always been able to control it, but recently within the last year it has gone way up. I started exercising my butt off and dieting, I'm finding very difficult to lose weight. Only losing an pound or two just to gain it plus two the following month. I am 39 years old and my GP keeps telling me that once I hit 40, it would be more difficult for me to lose weight. Out of pure desperation, last Friday, I decided to look up the side effects of the mirena . (Cuz you know my ob/gyn said "there wasn't any side effects except the initial cramping. and absolutely no weight gain like the pill.") I would of never thought that it had so many side effects! ... And I've experienced almost everyone. I blew off most of my symptoms due to high blood pressure, which runs in my family, and the stresses of work, two teenagers, a 5 yr old and a 4year old. I would say if I had to pin point when the symptom started, it would be about 2 years ago. All those years of insomnia, anxiety attacks, dizziness, head aches, bloating, weight gain and yes even depression, that I was prescribe prozac for, could be due to the mirena. I immediately made a doctors appointment to get in removed. Well, that was this Monday and the Nurse Practioner couldn't find the strings. Two ultrasounds later, I still have it in and am waiting the "what are they going to do now, and my next appointment this Friday." I Just want this thing out and wish I never got it in the first place!!"

I am so relieved to have found this web site! I had my Mirena IUD placed in early October 2008. It hurt a bit when they put it in like birthing cramps. I had some cramping for about a week but it was tolerable. I had spotting for about 3 1/2 months. I had one period about a month after placement which I experienced the worse cramps than ever before. Since then no periods and no cramps. Every now and then I will get some spotting, but no big deal. I have noticed an increase in acne but it's livable. I have had headaches of which I never got before. I haven't slept soundly for the past 10 years after my husband died because I know I am the only one here to protect my children should anything happen during the night. So I wake at every sound and make sure all is ok then go back to sleep. It's been different since the Mirena IUD. It's gotten much worse. It takes me a LONG time to get to sleep and when I do, my night is filled with intense, long-lived, vivid nightmares! (up to 4 a night) After which it again takes me a while to get back to sleep. What I am incredibly concerned about, though, is the emotional side effects that I have experienced! I have slowly become a basket-case. I have at different times experienced the following side-effects : anxiety, minor paranoia, racing heartbeat, MOOD SWINGS! unexplained crying episodes, foggy thinking, and panicky feelings. They don't all come at once and when one would occur, I dismissed it as weird or due to stress or whatever. I am not sure how long I have been experiencing them because it happened so slowly. It sort of all snuck up on me. However, in the last week or two, they have really made an impact! Two weeks ago, I remember telling a friend at work that something was wrong with me. She said "Oh you are probably just stressed or something. Don't worry about it." I said "No! I really think something is really wrong with me." I was scared to push it because, I don't know, I didn't want to sound like a freak. Then came this last Friday. At work, on my lunch hour, I just sat and cried for no good reason! Friday night it was unbearable. I HAVE NO REAON TO BE DEPRESSED! Saturday really scared me! I felt like I couldn't live this life! I was a mess!!! Thank God for my friend whom I called out of sheer desperation and who talked me through it! I had previously wondered about the effects of the Merina IUD but Saturday evening I immediately began to do the research (in between my crying fits that I had no control over). I found a little bit of info but just basic stuff like it can cause "depression and other mood changes." I knew something was terribly wrong with me and I needed to find more detailed info! (I am normally a fun, happy, in-control, go get 'em kind of person. I have to be. My husband died 10 years ago and I have had to raise my three children completely alone. A person has to have it "all together" to accomplish what I have accomplished! Let there be no question about that.) Now it's Sunday and I woke up this morning no better off. The crying fits have been even more often and all day long! My children have been scared for me because they know this is NOT my normal behavior! I just told them I would be ok. They have hung in there with me all day! I knew I had to just roll with it until I could get to my doctor tomorrow because there is no controlling them. I finally came upon this website this morning! OH! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR STORIES! I thought I was going crazy! I will be on my doctor's door step first thing in the morning to have this beastly contraption removed! They WILL fit me in their schedule because I WILL NOT leave their office with this IUD in my body! Sadly...Valentine's Day is around the corner so too bad for me and my boyfriend! I can't handle another week with this...so I have to do what I have to do! I understand that some women have good stories to tell about their Mirena IUDs but they seem to be few! If a woman was contemplating it and asked my opinion, it would be this.."Do what you think is best, but weigh the consequences first! I personally regret having it! It's been hell!" All I hope now is that it doesn't take much longer to get back to normal after the IUD is removed because I can't live like this! I hope I have helped another woman like me in writing this.

I got the mirena approx 2 and half years ago, i never knew until last Friday that mirena could be causing my depression, anger, mood swings, insomnia, joint pain, sore back, sore neck, brain fog, exhaustion and probably loads more that i cant quite remember at the moment.
i did some internet research on the Saturday and cried all the way through your stories as i realized i wasn't mad, insane, depressed, and just complete miserable cow to be honest.
I made an appointment at my doctors and had it taken out this morning,, i felt really tired after so came home and had a nap, i woke up really hungry after an hour and had what tasted like the best sandwich i have had in years... does anyone think that thier tastebuds could have been affected??
anyway, after my lovely sandwich i cleaned my entire house, it wasn't sore to bend over, i wasn't completely exhausted at the end of it, i remembered what i was going up stairs for, it felt so easy...
my breathing and muscles feel more relaxed..
i will keep posting on my progress here as i would love to hear your feedback and also to help me when/if i have the mirena crash..
Mirena stole my life for 2 years, it nearly cost me my relationship, thankfully i have the most wonderful fiancee who has been my constant support and never once called me crazy even though i was..
good luck to all of you going through this ordeal too..

I am 20 years old and had the mirena put in about a year ago. I experienced bad cramping, bleeding off and on, terrible weight gain, and depression. About 7 months after my mirena, I was put on Lexapro for depression. A couple of months ago, I was having severe cramping and I went back to my doctor, they did an ultrasound and found a cyst on my right ovary...I was supposed to go back three weeks later. The next week, I was cramping soooo bad that I called back to the doctor and they did another ultrasound...now there were two cysts on my right ovary. I had laproscopic surgery two weeks ago Friday. During this surgery they found a dermoid cyst on my left ovary they couldn't remove it, so I went for the second surgery last Friday...They had to remove my left ovary and the cyst was the size of a softball. My chances on having children are slim. My mom looked on the internet and found that a lawsuit had been filed in Portland, OR by ATTORNEY ******. They are supposed to be calling us back this week. If anyone is interested, please give her a call. The more we have call this attorney, then we may get a class action lawsuit started.

I just started taking YAZ last Friday. I've been a freaking mess. crying over nothing and everything. I have wired pains in my legs and left abdominal pain. I'm wondering if this could be related to taking this pill. It's starting to freak me out. I'm never like this. I don't know what i should do. Will this get better or is it going to get worse.

Hi, I did remove my Mirena last friday..I am pleased to do it, although of course not effects on it had happened yet. However, as many of you, I've lost a lot of hair, had facial acne and worse, I 've had serious depressions since I put mirena on me. I also got a infection on my bum, with no explanations from doctors, but one mention it could be your mirena...looking in this website, I am convinced that could be the reason for all my current troubles. I hope everything chance for good, better a heavy painful period rather than a mad life as many of you described...without mention loss of libido a marriage troubles!!! thanks.

I was prescribed Avelox 400 mg last week for a sore throat. I took one table per day for 5 days but those 5 days were the most miserable days of my life. I had panic attacks, short ot breath, rapid heartbeats, confusion, dizziness, lack of appetite. Last Friday and Saturday were the worse days. I went to see another doctor this past Monday and he told me that I had been given the wrong medication that could have killed med because of the side effects of the quinolones. I took the last pill last Saturday night and I still feel the side effects and don't know for how long they will last.

I'm 39 and have been on Coumadin for about a month. Was diagnosed with DVT in right calf after taking Yaz birth control for only about 4-5 months (no other pre-conditions - I'm a non-smoker, fairly active, not overweight, no recent airplane trips or long car rides.) I was on Yaz to treat severe problems with my period which has been the case since I was a teenager, but I was tired of having to call in sick to work every month, and had hoped Yaz would eliminate that problem. I had been on other BCPs when I was in my 20's, and never had any symptoms of clotting, so didn't think that it would be all that risky to try again, despite me being slightly older than the typical woman on BCP. Obviously, I am not taking Yaz anymore, and will not be able to take any other hormonal therapies for the rest of my life. But I guess that's minor compared to the risk of developing PE from an undiagnosed blood clot.
Anyway, I've been noticing I've been getting sudden, severe headaches since starting the Coumadin. I have a history of migraines but I usually only get one or two per year at most. Now I've had what feels a lot like a migraine twice in a matter of a couple weeks. My husband has also commented that I've been irritable and acting "spacy".
My INR has also been all over the place. They've been alternating me between 5 mg and 7.5 mg per day. For the first few weeks I was right where they wanted me - between 2 and 3, but then last Friday my results were 4.6!! Way too high. I go back this afternoon to see if anything's changed over the weekend, after skipping a dose and then doing 5 mg Sat. and Sun. I do hope they can find the right balance and don't have to keep tinkering with the dosage. I'm wondering if that's what's contributing to the headaches. Maybe if they can stabilize how much I'm taking from day to day, my body will adjust.
I wonder if anyone "official" is tracking the number of DVT/PE patients that can trace their onset of symptoms to Yaz. My sense is that this is a much more serious and prevalent side effect than their marketing dept. would like to admit.....

I had extreme anxiety so the dr. gave me .5 Ativan. i have been taking it for a month now 2 times a day. it worked great up until last Friday. Since then my heart has been pounding and i have extreme anxiety again, not as bad because i still am taking the meds but the rapid heart beat has taken over my life right now. I can't sleep, eat, concentrate on television. i barely go to work. I don't know what to do. Another doctor i went and saw told me that Ativan is only used temporary and that if you keep using it as a long term thing you are going to have to keep uping the doses and depend on it more and more until you go to the highest dose and it dosent help at all. Now I am scared about depending on them and not being able to get off them. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP. i need some help through this.
i am going to a therapist and all she can say is practice deep breathing so it doesn't really work 100% for me.

Last week I had an issue with my INR - it has always been unstable, but this time was weird. My INR had been 6 and so I stopped the warfarin for 4 days, and went back on my regular 2 mg dose. Then we went on holiday to Washington DC for a week. 3 days in, my pee was the colour of cherry kool aid. Went to the local hospital (thank god for travel insurance). My INR was 7.89 - In the US this is considered critical and I was admitted, and treated with Vitamin K and 2 units of plasma. Within 8 hours my INR had dropped to 1.8 - now too low. The next day down to 1.25, and a week later I am still 1. I am taking fragmin now until I can get my INR theraputic again but Fragmin shots are even worse than warfarin.
An ultrasound showed now issues with my bladder or kidneys, but I do not understand why I was bleeding.
Guess that this just shows the importance of regular checking of INR levels while on warfarin.

I am my husbands caregiver. He is on many medications the last 26 years due to chemical poisoning thanks to our government not protecting their civilian painters at the Army Depot where he worked.
He has permanent brain damage, CRS damage, memory loss and short term memory, CHF and Bollis Emphysema. Now he also has Type II diabetes a severe case as he was not diagnosed for 7+ years of testing.
To make this short. He has been on many drugs for pain, diabetes, blood pressure, the brain damage, ( he is a recovering, not drinking alcoholic)
Recently the doctor took him off the Codeine # 3 that he had been taking for almost 15 years, 8 per day. and gave him time release Morphine Sulfate.15 MG. They also gave him Gabapentin for the neuropathy which is severe in his feet and starting to go up his legs. He is over weight, above the waist, and has not had a problem with High Blood Pressure, for many years since taking 60 mg daily of Inderal. His Blood Sugars have been between 98-140 without medication. When he was first diagnosed he was put on glyberide and it worked so good he was off it in 6 months and totally diet controlled since then but about every 3 years he would go on it for about 6 months and then he was ok again.
He has not needed it for the last 7 years. Since starting the gabapentin he went from 300 to 600 to 900 and slowly increased the dose to 1600 mg. The 300's are caps, the 600's are tablets.
All the sudden he has pounding headaches, I took his BP which we had not been watching and it was 198/115 with a 98 pulse. The only change was the gabapentin and Morphine. The morphine does not seem to be causing any side effects, once he was used to getting sleepy.. but once the gabapentin was added, all he does is sleep. The blood sugars also went up with the blood pressure. His were 358 higher than they have ever been except when he was first diagnosed. I was able to get the glyberide and that is bring down the sugar levels only taking 1/4 tab 2 x a day, and the blood pressure is also coming down, it was 139/85 with a pluse of 76 which is still too fast. I talked to some pharmancy friends and they said " Its the gabapentin " so I told the doc I wanted to stop it and he said to start leveling off, one 300 mg cap every 4 days. We were down to 2 a day till Friday and saw the doctor. Due to his taking Cymbalta they did not want to give him any of the other anti depressants so they want him to back on the gabapentin up to 1200 a day instead of the 1600 a day.
Taking into consideration his medical issues and meds, I don't believe this is a safe or sound decision, but I know how much pain he was in before the gabapentin.
I wish they would be more forthright about the side effects of this medication. They said it only causes blood sugar issues in 1 % and they did not even address the high blood pressure etc.
His pupils are also different, he has the kidney pain, but his biggest problem is sleepy.. hopefully it's not his kidneys or his heart. They did blood tests on Friday and I am asking for a EKG.. in the mean time we are monitoring both blood pressure and blood sugar 6 or more times a day. Thank you so much for sharing. It really helps to know we are not alone.

I got my Mirena on 6-12-08 and still currently have it. I am 22 years old and have two little girls. Before the Mirena I used pills and the patch and never had any problems at all. This thing is a nightmare! I have been twitching-especially my eyes and lips, I cant get my fingers to stop shaking. I have been experiencing the 'drunk eyes' that bulgebegone mentioned. The cramps have not stopped for the month I've had it, even though I was told it would be a week at the most. Also, like so many other women, I was told that I may spot very lightly for 6-9 months and then stop getting my period-after it was inserted. For the last month I have been hemoraging almost exactly the same as those few days in the hospital after giving birth-when they give you the big diapers to wear! My husband hates it too, when we have been able to have sex, he says most of the time it's ok, but then the strings will poke him and it's a very sharp pain. Last Friday I spoke with my doctor about this to see what options we had and I asked her to shorten the strings and she said no, without an explanation at all! I also just read the article below in an email I received. I am now making an appointment to have this removed!!!!!

I have only been on this pill for a week and the side effects have begun to drive me crazy and I mean that literally!! On my way to work this morning I had a panic attack, I've never had anything like that before. I started to cry while eating breakfast and then in return I just became angry. My poor boyfriend has had to deal with me as well.... I'll be so nice to him and then 20 minutes later I'm completely angry about life and him and everything he does! He could do the littlest thing and I'm so upset. My doctor switched me to this from orthotricylin because I have really bad ovarian cysts and she was hoping this would help...obviously not! I went to the health center at work and talked to them about it, and said that there was no way this could be related to Yaz...because Yaz is supposed to be the latest and greatest thing and make it so you have no mood swings...that is completely wrong. I also never had problems with nausea, now every morning it takes me 3 hours to not feel nauseous and to be able to even eat just a piece of toast.
I have been trying to get ahold of my doctor to see if I can stop taking the pill now because I do not think I can go through 2 more weeks of this or I believe I will be single and crazy!
Please if you have stopped taking this pill, how long did it take you to be a normal woman again?

I have had Mirena put in Feb 09, so it has been 8 months and for 7months I have had a yeast infection that wont go away. It gets really bad the week before my period and the week after its not too bad. I have used OTC drugs and prescriptions. I have never had a YI before I had the mirena. I do believe it is the reason I have one, so I am going to get it removed. I have also been very tired and foggy feeling and never made that connection until reading all these posts.
