I was prescribed the medicine sulfameth/trimethoprim for a UTI and 1 hour after taking it, I began to itch and noticed red bruises appearing on my arm and back. I also had palpatations. My lips and face began to swell really bad with blisters on my lips and around them. My lips were burning and itching very badly.I also had sores in mouth. I had really bad abdominal pain and difficult breathing.. The next day, I had even more swelling on lips and face and more bruises, vaganal irratations, rashes, severe headache, itching all over body, tongue swelling, throat irratations, bruising continuing all over. I couldn't sleep and was very tired. It has been a week and I am still having some itching, my lips are peeling and still feel very tight as well as bumps on lips and around. The itching and burning on my lips lasted about 5 days as well as most other symptoms. with some lasting longer and all this with taking just 1 pill. After taking this I read so much on this drug and had I read it first, I would have never taken it. I had a reaction to SMZ once and told my doctor that I was allergic to sulfur type drugs and the doctor and pharmacy overlooked it and I was given this anyway. This reaction was much worse than the first. I read so many comments that really helped me and thought maybe I could help someone else. This site is very good.

My son and I have both taken Welbutrin. I didn't really notice a lot of side effects. I know that it did not effect my sex drive which other meds did. I lost weight, lost interest in drinking alcohol, lost interest in smoking. Had more energy,
My son has had some different things happen to him. He gets real sharpe headache pains in the left top of his head. They come and go away within about 30 seconds. Has anyone ever had that problem? He tried getting off of the meds and experenced all these body pains. It drove him nuts so he went back on welbutrin. The body pains have gone away, but the head pains came back. The doctor said the head pains would go away if he took his meds regular.

I had a Mirena coil fitted about 3 years ago. It was brilliant. I had it fitted because I suffered terribly with painful periods. Not heavy though. I had it for about a year, then had it removed to try for a baby with my partner. I already have a 19 year old son. I didn't get pregnant, now, I believe a good thing, and I had a second Mirena fitted. Let's put it this way, it's not acting like the first one did. I get headaches, hot flushes, bloating, depression, crying, muscle ache, especially arms and hands. I have dizzy spells, and can't stand around for a while as I feel faint. I am overweight, and always intend to do some exercise, and control eating habits a bit, but when your mind isn't right, how can you? It's a vicious circle. Obviously I appreciate that some of how I feel is my weight issue, but as I said, it's hard to do anything about it when you can't get the incentive because your mind is working overtime! The bleeding though, is basically the same as the first coil. It stopped near enough straight away, but at this moment I am having what isn't really a period, but is stranger and little heavier than spotting! I also get sharp pains now and again at the moment, and am very bloated. Doctor said about a month ago, that the coil could still be settling! We will see! Any replies would be great, I hope I haven't rambled on!!! Ha.. Pauline, Gloucestershire

hi,
i know what it's like to have bad cramps ,heavy bleeding & periods lasting longer then it should on yasmin.for me lo ovral is the worsest bc of the only 2 i've been on.i took lo ovral for 5 weeks stopped monday because of severe headaches & my periods been going on over 6 weeks straight now very heavy.i can't get into my gyn dr because he has 2 offices now the 1 i've been seeing him in isn't returning my calls for an appt i left alots of messages for him.no return calls i tried his other office that he works most of the time.there refusing to take a message or give me an appt because i don't belong to that office.so i called after hours talked to another dr he said he wants me in the office asap which i told both offices but they refused to still give me an appt.so now i'm forced to see a new dr and start this whole thing over again.i have severe pcos which the new dr doesn't treat but because this problems have been going on so long.i like my gyn dr but i hate his staff.does anybody else have this problem with there gyn dr office?

Have been off Avelox for 6 days - STILL dealing with daily, constant nausea accompanied by intermittent burping. While on Avelox the nausea subsided within an hour of taking it, however, by the time I quit taking it (after 6 days) the nausea was lasting longer and longer. Now, of course, the nausea is constant.
The doctors, as we all know, are uneducated in how many awful side effects there are to this and other fluoroquinolon's.
Has anyone experienced extended nausea like this?
